Residents of
Eureka, Californiawill
votethis fall on the Eureka Youth
Protection Act. At first blush, who could be against protecting
youth? But who are they protecting them from? Ah, here it
is:
"No person who is employed by or
an agent of the United States government shall, within the city of
Eureka, in the execution of his or her job duties, recruit,
initiate contact with for the purpose of recruiting, or promote the
future enlistment of any person under the age of 18 into any branch
of the United States Armed
Forces."
Signatures for the
proposed regulation were gathered in part by a group called North
Coast United to Protect Youth, who, while the rest of us have been
focused on jihadists and megalomaniacal totalitarians, have
clearlyferreted out America's Real
Enemies--The U.S. military! Go get 'em,
tigers!
