The Spectacle Blog

A friend of mine who happens to be a GOP activist got a message from a local legislator that Sen. McCain will be in Minneapolis for a townhall meeting this week, and she warmly responded that she'd love to help, but unfortunately there's a glitch, as she explained to me in an email:

I leave a voice mail back that I'm happy to help out or participate, but I wanted to let them know that I sent an email to the McCain campaign a few weeks ago in response to two emails on Climate Change they had sent. I basically said the Senator was wrong on the issue of global warming.

I get a call back that the townhall meeting is on Energy- so it probably "wouldn't be a good fit" since I disagree with the Senator. So I can't even attend? Although in all fairness I'd be highly uncomfortable with people around me applauding for cap and trade.

McCain's in a lot of trouble if his people are putting off supporters who aren't on board with his whole agenda.
