McCain Affair Story

Trouble ahead for John McCain on issues of integrity: He may have had an affair with a lobbyist and done political favors for her. So reports the Times of London and even more extensively in the New York Times, courtesy of Drudge. That last part, re: political favors, is really the worst part -- even if untrue, it'll hurt McCain a great deal to be hit on the very thing that makes him so prominent for independents.

UPDATE:

I'm looking at this story, and it's probably going to be a bigger problem for the New York Times. So far I'm seeing no smoking gun, especially not legislation that really seems salient here. He took money from lobbyists, and ... thanked them? I just see a lot of rehash, but not a lot of brand new reporting -- excepting the admission that campaign staff had to come between McCain and a lobbyist with whom he allegedly had romantic relations doesn't help.
