Tehran Digs In

Another UN attempt at sanctions; another demonstration of Iranian defiance. The latest round of compromise sanctions squeaked out by the P5+1 (Russia, China, France, Great Britain, the United States and Germany) has not even been formally unveiled yet. But already, Iranian officials are condemning the measure - and reiterating their commitment to nuclear possession at all costs. As Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has put it, such "illegal behavior... will not divert the Iranian nation from its path." The real question, then, is what, exactly, the next president plans to do about it.
