Thompson Out

Fred Thompson has officially pulled out of the race. Too bad his campaign strategies and tactics did not match the quality of his position papers, and too bad the candidate himself who shone in debates and public appearances throughout most of December and January was nowhere to be found from June through November. "He coulda been a contendah."

I still think he ought to have NOT pulled out, but instead should have "lain low," and tried to make a comeback after Super Tuesday after others dropped out. But as the elder Coach Jim Mora once said, "woulda, coulda, shoulda" isn't worth squat.
Sen. Thompson has much on his plate now anyway, though, with his mother gravely ill. She and he and their whole family should continue to be in our prayers. And may they all know the comfort of a Loving God.
