Just when I was starting to feel a little sorry for Mitt Romney, Jennifer makes a great post about his speech to day to the Detroit Economic Club. Jennifer is right: The free marketeer/small-government purist inside of me just had a retching fit. Talk about pandering! Jennifer is right: Mitt is for whatever SEEMS to make Mitt sound good at the immediate moment. Ugh.
Now, just a clarification to Philip: I am not even coming close to PREDICTING a Thompson-Romney merger; I am merely suggesting that it would be a good idea for both of them. As for the actual odds of it happening, they rank right up there with the odds of a polar bear wandering down to Maine.
