Wallace Hurts Romney

Wallace serves up a softball (AGAIN) to McCain by asking if Romney is lying about his record. No wonder McCain does so well in these debates: Nobody ever calls him on anything, and all the moderators love him.

Then Wallace asks Huck about how mean Romney is being. What is Wallace's problem. This is just unfair to Romney in terms of teeing up the other people to blister Romney. Especially ironic to make Huck the good guy when Huck is the religious-bating guy who cleverly and repeatedly attacked Romney's Mormonism.

Romney finally gets a chance (after Wallace again attacked him) and did as well as he could to say he focuses on issues and not personal character.

"If you tell a half-truth as well as a full truth, it becomes an untruth." That is Huck's quote. Physician, heal thyself. This is a man who lies with regularity. He lied about what the court ordered him to do on taxes. He lied about his role in letting Wayne DuMond go. He lied about his role in supporting Reagan when Reagan was in last place in the polls. (Reagan never was in last place.) And on and on and on and on.
