NH Polls

The latest are here. Overall McCain has a 4.6 pt average in RCP. In the fight for Independents CNN/WMUR says 56% of them intend to vote in the Democratic primary, down significantly from a year ago. Secretary of State Bill Gardner expects a record turnout of 260,000 in the Democratic primary and 240,000 in the GOP. 90,000 of those in the Democratic primary will be Independents( technically called Undeclareds) and 60,000 in the GOP primary will be. So the GOP candidates likely to attract Independents --McCain and Rudy -- will have fewer of them at their disposal than Obama. Nevertheless, a quarter of the votes cast in the GOP race will be by Independents.
