Lantos is Retiring

Congressman Tom Lantos (D-Calif.), the only Holocaust survivor elected to Congress, is retiring because he has cancer of the esophagus. Although a liberal on most issues, Lantos is a pro-Israel human-rights watchdog who has frequently been an ally of conservatives on foreign policy.
