Re: Tancredo Endorses Romney

My point: neither Gilchrist nor Tancredo will move any votes of significance. It's nice that more people know who Tancredo is but I doubt anyone who suspects Romney is a squish on immigration issue or has a transparently inconsistent record (as Thompson argued fairly persuasively today) is going to be convinced. Moreover, Tancredo carries some liabilities. Today he seemed to suggest that Romney would be in favor of deporting millions of illegals ("He'll require those who are presently here illegally to return home"). Unless Romney has had a change of heart again I don't think that's his position. If Tancredo is going to actually do any campaigning he'll get asked about stuff like this.
UPDATE: And in Iowa Rep. King who endorsed Thompson probably has the most credibility on immigration.
