Paul has unquestionably benefited from being the only antiwar Republican in the field, and certainly wouldn't have received favorable treatment from Bill Maher and Stephen Colbert if he were merely the pro-life tax-and-budget slasher candidate. But would he have gotten more favorable treatment from conventional conservatives if he was running for president without the war in Iraq?
