When the
NY Times and CBN agree,
something is up. They both think Huckabee is for real in Iowa.
David Brody sets the bar high for Romney contending he "has to win
big" there or Romney is in trouble. Romney folks will say a win is
a win and everyone else will express shock, shock, I say, if
Huckabee comes within (fill in your percentage) of the frontrunner.
But I suspect the Romney folks will be starting the "race will
inevitably tighten" mantra soon enough. Meanwhile Huckabee's man in
Iowa, Eric Woolson, peppers us with news of the latest local
evangelical leader, Matt Reisetter, to join the Huckabee team. You
can tell things are heating up when Romney goes after Huckabee on
immigration. Meanwhile friends of a campaign that for reasons
beyond me ask for "not for attribution" send out an email
highlighting the
factcheck.org critique of Romney's immigration ad.
