Next week the major GOP contenders will be speaking to the
Republican Jewish Coalition. Democrats in presidential elections
have enjoyed an overwhelming advantage with Jewish voters although
the gap has been narrowing over the last several elections.
Republicans' strong commitment to Israel and fighting the War on
Terror and their determination to stand up to Iran give the GOP
candidates an attractive pitch. They also would be wise to speak
out against Jimmy Carter's ongoing hate speech against Israel and
make clear that they have no patience with the anti-Semitic
conspiracy
theories which enjoy popularity among Leftists on college
campuses. Interestingly, the latest Fox
poll also shows that Republicans, to a far greater degree than
Democrats, would feel comfortable with a Jewish president.
