The picture has gone out on my TV, so all I can do is listen to
the debate from Dearhorn. Fred got the first question. Seemed
hesitant, perhaps thoughtful in his replies. Romney, speaking
second, was much smoother and fluent -- and smart enough to focus
on Michigan's problems and blast Gov. Granholm's tax hikes. Then
Rudy got to hit a home run, when he defended and lauded his friend
Joe Torre. Now that the Yankees are history, this could appeal to
Yankee fans and loathers alike.
