Re: Fiscal Wars

The fiscal wars go on. Rudy sent out a fact sheet on Romney on "Taxachusetts Hypocrisy" which draws a claim from camp Romney that a group called Citizen's Budget Committee ( I have no idea who they are--James? Phil?) says Rudy increased the budget and debt in New York City. Meanwhile the presidential contenders are speaking at Americans for Prosperity --some coverage is here. Rudy spoke earlier stressing results not rhetoric (hmmmm... who's he thinking of?) and you can read the whole thing here. The best parts are the Hillary jibes. On the $20B cost of the Baby Bonds: "Yours, mine, hardworking Americans. Hard-earned tax dollars. $20 billion? And it's going to be more than that, because we're going to have to add to that the cost of the large bureaucracy that's going to have to print up the bonds, right? With Hillary's picture on them." On Hillary again: "The leading Democratic candidate has said the following, describing her philosophy, I have to take things from you for the common good. (BOOING) Thank you. (LAUGHTER) But excuse me if I don't think that hundreds of millions of American can figure out the common good better than Hillary Clinton." Romney speaks later today.
