Phil, I think you're right there. For the better side of Rudy
this is
worth listening to--his speech from London yesterday. He is
plainspoken and funny. The speech is not short but worth listening
to and the portion where he talks about the July 7, 2005 London
bombings when he was actually in London is quite moving. When he
says you "first have to stand up to your enemy" and cautions
against treating terrorist acts as discrete crimes you do believe
he's going to do what he says. Maybe you don't get this type of
force of personality and determination without the occasional
boastful faux pas.
