Re: Michigan and Threats

The Michigan state legislature did indeed vote today to move up to a January 15 primary. Rudy's team seems pleased to have an industrial, diverse state in the pre-Super Duper Tuesday line up. From Rep. Candice Miller, his state chair and Congresswoman from Macomb County (home of the Reagan Democrats): "Mayor Giuliani expects to campaign and win in Michigan not only on January 15th, but also the General Election on November 4, 2008.  I know that Mayor Giuliani believes each and every state deserves to have a significant voice in choosing our nominee.  I also believe that Michigan Republican voters know that Rudy Giuliani is the only candidate who can compete in all 50 states and is the Republican candidate capable of carrying our state in the General Election for the first time since 1988."

And from McCain spokesman Brian Rogers: "John Mccain has a broad base of support in Michigan and looks forward to continuing to compete aggressively in the state." You may recall he won there in 2000.
