Toomey Hammers McCain

Pat Toomey writes about the Club For Growth's new white paper on McCain's fiscal record, and it isn't flattering:

While Sen. McCain's economic record is clearly mixed, a careful study demonstrates that even his pro-growth positions tend to be tainted by a heavy anti-growth undercurrent. This evidence, and the virulence of his rhetoric, suggest that American taxpayers cannot expect consistently pro-growth economic policies from a McCain administration.
The full report is here. It's no surprise that McCain is the only major presidential candidate to snub the group's winter conference.

This is the Club's third paper on the presidential candidates. In previous reports they gave a mostly good grade to Sam Brownback, while Mike Huckabee got the thumbs down.
