John Hawkins may be right that we'd be hearing a lot more about Barack Obama's inexperience if he were a Republican, but he underestimates Obama's political talent. (He also overestimates the prowess of the Illinois GOP; it's not at all clear that Jack Ryan would have beaten Obama.)
