As Deval Patrick assumes the Massachusetts governorship, he continues reversing Romney. Of course, disputes over last-minute appointments are pretty normal, especially when partisan control of an office changes hands. But the Boston media coverage of the transition has been intense as a likely Republican presidential candidate hands the keys to another political star, the commonwealth’s first black governor. Fittingly, Michael Stanley Dukakis will be on hand.

In case you were wondering, pace one James Boyce, Mitt Romney did in fact have his picture taken with Deval Patrick.
