Hunter, you're dead right on Obama. When before has someone become a politician and thereby become a celebrity before actually being a politician? Obama's staying power is beyond politics; his application of the idea of himself to the subject of politics is of nearly an identical sort to Oprah opening a school in South Africa. The symbolism and practical effect -- and then the idea that symbolism itself can be of practical effect -- are huge and powerful things for the present American people.

Obamarama is one of ten other second-annual yearly predictions I've issued today as part of the great post-Christmas dig-out.
