Sen. George Allen helped himself and the GOP by his magnanimous
announcement today that he conceded defeat and declined to request
a recount to which he was entitled. It is indeed refreshing to see
a political leader take the high road, like leaders used to do, in
simply accepting the results of an election and moving on.
