President Obama is playing you again (and defiling his office as he does so).

But this is the President again playing you, because he thinks you are too stupid and uninformed to pay attention to what has been going on. Just last month, Washington increased taxes on the wealthiest Americans by $2 trillion (or at least it tried to — we will see if the wealthiest Americans are too stupid to pay attention to what is going on, and they or their money stick around to be fleeced). There were no spending cuts in that January 1 fiscal cliff deal. It was all tax increases. Almost all on the wealthiest Americans.
And those tax increases will affect middle class and working people more than the rich. As the rich hustle their money into tax shelters and out of the country to avoid the increasingly oppressive tax burden they face, the country loses precisely the investment capital that is the foundation for new jobs and growing wages. So the result is more unemployment and lower wages for the middle class and working people, which is exactly what America has been experiencing under Obama.
Moreover, only President Obama and the Democrats have slashed Medicare, when they passed Obamacare in 2010, which cut trillions actually in future Medicare spending, by adopting payment formulas that would pay the doctors and hospitals that are expected to provide the health care to seniors even less than Medicaid pays to doctors and hospitals for health care for the poor. The Republicans have not cut Medicare by a single dime. Remember the last time they had Congressional majorities in both houses, they enacted the Medicare prescription drug plan, Medicare Part D. That may not have been a good idea, but the point here is that every time Obama talks about Republicans cutting Medicare, he is talking out of all three sides of his mouth.
I thoroughly explained in last week’s column that the rich already pay far more than their fair share, unless you are a communist. Official IRS data show that the top 1% of income earners pay 39% of all federal income taxes, while earning only 13% of the income. The middle 20% of income earners, the true middle class, pays only 2.7% of all federal income taxes, while earning 15% of the income. So the top 1% pays 15 times as much federal income tax as the entire middle 20%, or middle class, even though the middle 20% earns more in income. The bottom 40% of income earners rather than paying any taxes to support the government actually receives payments from the IRS equal to about 10% of all federal income tax revenues.
And this was before the $2 trillion in tax rate increases on the rich, in the fiscal cliff deal.
President Obama also persisted yesterday in spreading the dishonest falsehood that billionaires pay lower tax rates than theirs secretaries. That is based on a cartoon version of our tax code. CBO reports to the contrary that in 2009 the top 1% paid an average federal tax rate of 29%, while the middle 20% paid an average federal tax rate of only 11.1%, and the bottom 20% paid an average federal tax rate of 1%. We need a law that would hold President Obama personally liable when he uses the trappings of office to spread outright fairy tales.
Finally, President Obama said yesterday:
Now, for two years, I’ve offered a balanced approach to deficit reduction that would prevent these harmful cuts…. I am willing to cut more spending that we don’t need, get rid of programs that aren’t working. I’ve laid out specific reforms to our entitlement programs that can achieve the same amount of health care savings by the beginning of the next decade as the reforms that were proposed by the bipartisan Simpson-Bowles commission [Not true].
But only if we raise taxes yet again. Obama added:
I believe such a balanced approach that combines tax r[increases] with some additional spending [cuts], done in a smart, thoughtful way is the best way to…avoid these [sequester cuts once and for all that could hurt our economy, slow our recovery, put people out of work. And most Americans agree with me.
This is the danger of the Washington media cocoon, taken over by socialist revolutionaries, which leaves our leaders believing their own confused and dishonest propaganda. What Obama is saying here is that most Americans agree that cutting spending hurts the economy, but raising taxes doesn’t. And if you do agree, and willingly allow Obama to play you like that, it is you who are stupid.

So until the time comes when Medicare can be reformed and privatized, we are all stuck with it. And sooner or later, probably sooner, we will run out of money, and it will have to be reformed.

Chuck, if your mother doesn't like it, she can still buy private insurance. Nothing is stopping her from doing that. Or does she not have enough money for that? In that case, she must have been lazy her whole life, and no government program should be taking care of her.
Of course, we could get rid of Medicare and the Affordable Care Act altogether. I'm sure the private insurance companies would love to offer inexpensive coverage to your old mother, and surely they wouldn't deny any payment to her.

Private sector jobs pay what they are worth, set by market economics, not by some pie in the sky government fiat. For equal paying jobs, privatized investments will always beat governmental programs since safe but higher yield securities can be used and the money will not be stolen as has happened with SS.
The forced government program benefit payouts are set by the government not by the people. If the payout is larger than what was put in, this is just another example of failed governmental policies causing higher deficit spending instead of achieving balanced monetary flow.
Government is by nature inefficient and incompetent compared to the private sector where all value is produced.

Every teacher has been rightfully compensated for all the kids they educated. What is the purpose of safety net? They are to prevent people from falling to their demise and then they are to climb off. If no one climbs off the safety net will give way at some point. The low information voters are in for a surprise in 2014 when the ObamaCare fines starting at 1% and escalating to 2.5% by 2016 as their penalty if their employer drops their plan and they don't buy the ObamaCare Exchange Plan that is about $4K per person and levies fines of about $4-5K for smokers age 55 to 60.
The real frustration is that Medicare/Medicaid is the largest Budget item with some $780B and 21% of the Budget. Fraud and abuse is calculated at 10-15% that is some $75B to almost $120B per year. It is not simply that the communist are re-distributing wealth to voting blocks, but they are stealing it en masse for them. That is why they will not fix the problems.
This is probably why McConnell, Boehner and Rover hate the TEA Party. Their cut may be smaller, but it is still material.

Also the Depts. of Energy and Transportation, Homeland Security, and cut all congressional staffs by two-thirds. Make 'em read the damn bills themselves and there will be a lot fewer of 'em! Let go the newly-hired IRS agents, sell all the Homeland Security ammo at cost to private citizens immediately. Cut the White House staff (cooks, butlers, drivers, etc.) in half. Eliminate the Dept. of Interior after selling all non-improved government land to private citizens, retaining only the National Parks Service. This problem could be solved easily, without touching SSI or Medicare/Medicaid, simply by returning the federal government to its constitutionally-proscribed limits.

The Federal government has two main Constitutional duties, one is to "defend" America from her enemies (not defend everybody else in the world from their enemies) and taxation to support the defense of this nation. Everything else the Feds do is nonsense and not needed. Cut everything else from the Federal Budget.

There will be no real spending cuts. Taxes will be raised. The debt cap will be raised. The annual deficit will continue to be in excess of $1 Trillion. KingOcare will raise health care and insurance costs.
Politicians will continue to get rich on the PEOPLE's money. The Ruling Class ... ummm, Rules. And the Stupid Class will continue to elect themselves into utter chaos.

His Hindmost is standing with a bunch of firefighters and police saying that sequester threatens their jobs. And no one thinks to question where in the Constitution does it say what the Federal budget has to do with local police or fire departments. BO’s approach to these negotiations reminds me of the old National Lampoon ad where a dog is pictured with a gun to his head and the ad reads ‘buy the magazine or we shoot the dog’.

Medicare and Medicaid are disasters, and they are eating up the budget. Mr. Ferrara has advocated block grants for these programs to allow states to do it right. This has happened with other programs with great success. True Federalism allows states the option of customizing programs to benefit their state and it's citizens. Obama and other statists know that federal programs TRAP the people and do not allow options. People will vote with their feet in todays world, moving to states that suit them best. Why not have our state governments competing to please their employers (us)? Tyranny vs. freedom. Central power vs. state/local power.

The problem is that you think that the President is serious when he makes these speeches. No one is that stupid. He knows exactly what he is doing, and he probably spends the rest of the day llaughing with his staff, and waiting for the evening news to see how the fools in his press corps will spin it. He has utter contempt for his supporters, and the rest of us in this country. He has contempt for this country. He know that these policies have to damage America, but that is what he planned all along. I do not think that he is anything but the figurehead on the ship, but he follows orders well. The destruction of this country, and all it stands for, is the plan, and it seems to be working well.
It only takes good people doing nothing, or worse, going along with the game, for evil to triumph.

Here's a lesson in elementary logic -- just because you think that overall government spending is excessive, that doesn't mean that some government spending isn't necessary. And Peter, I wish we'd stop whitewashing the excrement that exudes from this administration. Obama's not spreading "fairy tales", but baldfaced lies that he's not even trying to hide anymore. Doesn't have to. The blinders are too firmly in place. The population I've had considerable professional interaction with--and learned a lot from--have a word they learned in jail for people who take it like the current crop of Repubs. We're putting our faith in getting us out of this mess in the wrong ones-it sure ain't gonna be accomplished by politicians.
