That was back in July of 2009.
Monday morning, Joe Scarborough sat there on the set of his
MSNBC television show — a show that uses the nickname for one of
the worst racists in American governmental history — and said of
Sean Hannity and Mark Levin:
“They didn’t listen. They went out, they engaged in birtherism,
they called the president a racist who hated all white people.”
It was, bluntly put, a lie.
A Scarborough buy-in to the liberal idea that the best way to
damage the cause of freedom and a colorblind America is to damage
prominent conservatives who are among the best advocates that cause
can ever have.
One can only conclude from this that the real truth of the
American Left — the dependence on race to elect progressives to
grow the government — is something Scarborough will never have the
courage to confront.
When Alabama Democrat and Governor George C. Wallace gave his
inaugural address in 1963 he infamously said:
“Segregation now, segregation tomorrow and segregation
forever.”
It is abundantly clear that were the word “racism” substituted
for “segregation” Wallace’s vow is the dog whistle — make that
brass drum — of the American Left in 2013.
Race is their issue. They intend to divide Americans by race
whenever and however they get the chance. For as long as they can
get that chance — or make that chance.
For whatever reason, General Powell will never speak out. For a
genuine American hero, that is disgraceful.
And as for Joe Scarborough. Quite apparently, he doesn’t have
the guts.
Shameful. Absolutely shameful.
Vance P. Frickey| 1.15.13 @ 7:07AM
"Morning Joe" Scarborough's issue is very easy to understand. He's no Lowell Weicker - no principled GOP liberal. It's a little more fundamental than that.
"It is difficult for those to see whose paycheck depends on them not seeing." - Sinclair Lewis
Klabautermann| 1.15.13 @ 7:31AM
Hannity and Levin did indeed call the President racist (in Scarborough's mind.) The idea is now planted in the mind's of MSNBC's 20,000 or so viewers. Do a search of Powell Farrakhan to see Powell's photo ops with "Minister" Farrakhan. Powell is an expert on racism. If he had not been held back because of his race he would probably be emperor of the universe by now.
ArmyAviator| 1.15.13 @ 10:01AM
Powell is a product of Affirmative Action. He had breaks at every step of his career, that White Officers were denied. I served with him in the 2d Infantry Division years ago, when he commanded the 1/32 Infantry Bn. Powell did a mediocre job as commander. He had a disciplinary problem with Blacks, that exceeded any other unit in the Division. Yet he received glowing comments on his Officer's Efficiency Report (OER). Powell is articulate and clean, so the Senior Leadership, oozing to prove how "un-racist" they were, pandered to him. In Command & General Staff College, where I was also his contemporary, he excelled, again because he got every break possible. The Senior Leadership wanted a Black officer to graduate at the top, and Powell was who they selected. The rest of us had to work at our class standing. Powell had it handed to him! As Asst. Division Commander with the 101st Airborne, Powell should have been relieved for incompetence. Instead, Reagan chose to make him a Four Star. The rest is history.
davidh| 1.15.13 @ 2:27PM
Great strategy: If you disagree with me politically you are; Racist or Sexist or Homophobe or Misogynist or Chauvinist etc.
Don't speak or comment, if you do this will be our response.
Colin, we hear you. We need to be silent or become liberal like you, either will do (we know).
Sorry we ar clear now.
Anthony| 1.15.13 @ 2:52PM
Wow, we suspected this, but this first hand account puts the iceing on the cake.
Of course, Powell's reaction to all the benefits handed to him is to impune those who kicked up him the ladder.
I wonder if Powell told Reagan that he was an old racist fool, and that Powell had reservations about being promoted by an old R racist?
Ya think???
I wonder if Powell ever told Bush 43, when he was appointed Sec. of State, that Bush needed to say someting about all those racists in the R party, before Colin would take the job?.
Ya think????
I wonder when Colin looks in the mirror if he sees a pathetic amoral snake of a human being?
Ya think???
Seek| 1.15.13 @ 9:41PM
This account is fascinating. Colin Powell cultivated an image of a super-proficient, take-charge military officer. I guess that's all it was -- an image.
RCV| 1.16.13 @ 4:47PM
Sounds like someone explaining his own failure to me.
Martin kzovich| 1.15.13 @ 7:36AM
For me the question is when "our side" goes on offense" against the Communist narrative and in fact create our own narrative --When ?
TLP| 1.15.13 @ 10:22AM
I like that Picture at the top of the page. I look at him and see a guy with Zero Friends. A Sellout, who Backstabbed every body whoever said a nice word about him, in exchange for A Few Pieces Of Silver from the very same people who did everything in their power to get him outta Congress.
The Left doesn't like him. They just like to USE him. They'll never accept him as one of their own. And he will never again be Respected as he now bears the Scarlett Letter of Betrayel, Coward and Traitor. He will never be Trusted again. Which is a hard act to follow, when you're trying to make friends.
As for Colin Powell? He was NEVER one of us. He just played the Game and Worked the System. One need look no further than the Case involving another Scumbag - That POS Lying Skank - Valerie Wilson.
Powell knew all along that it was His Deputy - Dickhead No Kneck Scumbag Armitage - who gave out Valerie Wilson's name to Robert Novack. Yet he sat there with his Lying Racist Mouth clamped shut, as Scooter Libby was dragged through the Mud by another Scumbag - Special Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald - who also knew that Armitage was the Guilty Party.
So much for the "Honourable" Colon Powell.
As far as his Race Bullsh*t is concerned?
Blacks are Black first. Always.
Just look how this Black President had his Black Attorney General ("I didn't take this job to Prosecute MY PEOPLE") in his Blacks Only Justice Dept throw the case against the Black Panthers in a Blatant Case of VOTER INTIMIDATION.
Anti-Statist| 1.15.13 @ 3:59PM

RCV| 1.16.13 @ 4:49PM
That's why those losers Scarborough and Powell are where they are today, while you're at the top of the game, TLP.
Biggie| 1.17.13 @ 7:32AM
What communist narrative?
Von Mises Jr| 1.15.13 @ 7:39AM
This has been the tactic of the socialist since Marx. Von Mises "Socialism" explodes "One World Government" of Marxism based on the fact that it is impossible to calculate prices. Mises calls it "catallactics" and Hayek explained it as "spontaneous order" whereby supply and demand directs allocation of resources based on the marginal costs bid in the marketplace.
Men such as David Hume, Adam Smith and Bastiat had valid theories while Marxism was based on the defunct caste system of serfdom. Since Marx could not defend Marxism in general, or the idea of "material productive forces" that had a bit of "Alice in Wonderland" tenor, Marx resorted to ad hominem attack. It has continued as Marxist one and only tactic for 150 years save perverting the language that is another socialist trick. They are a two-trick pony.
So the only thing socialist know is deception and ad hominem attack. That is their tactics and their world philosophy is to steal your stuff.
TLP| 1.15.13 @ 10:27AM

Nancy in NC| 1.15.13 @ 8:10AM
So often racism is accused when the average person would not have even thought about race. It seems to me that race is all some people think about, and try to figure out how they can use the race card to their advantage.
Colin Powell has been seriously punished by the GOP, right? His disingeneous statements are beyond the pale. He should be ashamed.
Alice Moore| 1.15.13 @ 10:41AM
Why is Powell still a Republican? I had also read that like many Modern Major Generals, Colin Powell had his ticket punched to the top by Republicans. This culminated in his appointment to Sec'y of State in the Bush II administration.
George Will wrote a column in 1996 in which Colin Powell verbally cringed at having to win over the conservative base of the GOP to be elected to the Presidency.
He should go over to the Dems. He has a better chance of at least getting their nomination. He has an automatic lock on millions of voters with the collective IQ of my 19 year old cat; oops low information voters. :D
KennesawJack| 1.15.13 @ 8:13AM
Von, I would add; "their world philosophy is to steal your stuff and get you to thank them for doing it.". So far, it seems to be working quite well for Obamarx.
Biggie| 1.16.13 @ 11:50AM
Uh, in what way has Obama stolen your stuff?
Arnie| 1.15.13 @ 8:21AM
Wow, you guys really eat your own if they diverge from the Gospels of Reagan, W, Cheney, Rush, Levin, Beck, & Palin.
Keep it up. I'm perfectly happy if you paint yourselves into a corner.
KennesawJack| 1.15.13 @ 8:32AM
Arnie, Scarborough and Powell are not " our own". They left us a long, long time ago. Funny thing, though, every advancement Powell ever had came at the hands of a Republican President. He seems to have forgotten that the liberal Dems don't to a damn thing to further a black man or woman who insists on leaving the plantation. Powell has become a joke. He has put race before country. (But then, don't all Dems?)
Seek| 1.15.13 @ 9:44PM
The problem with Democrats is not that they're anti-black. It's that they're anti-white. By peddling that "liberal plantation" nonsense, you unwittingly ratify the Left's primary narrative of the black-as-victim, merely changing the role of victimizer. It won't work. We've been "reaching out" to blacks for 40 or more years, ever since Nixon. Where has it gotten us?
KennesawJack| 1.15.13 @ 11:11PM
B. S. The "liberal plantation" is as real as the left's commitment to the destruction of capitalism. Nothing nonsensical about it at all.
Biggie| 1.16.13 @ 11:56AM
The liberal plantation is nonsense conservatives use to excuse their failure to attract black voters.
It's just as foolish as conservatives pretending that the left wants to destroy capitalism. You've been buying that lie for 150 years now
Joellen| 1.15.13 @ 8:33AM
Arnie, "you guys really eat your own .......".
Well you got that all wrong, we dont eat our own; and that's the point Mr. Lord is making. The ELITE, LIBERAL, RINO's try to take down the true constitutional, conservative. That's why Powell had to attack Governor Palin, yet never brought up the HYPOCRISY of those on his RINO and Liberal side, which of course he couldn's, cause he is one of the HYPOCRITES!
Now re-read the article, pay attention to detail and maybe you'll understand it a little better.
Arnie| 1.15.13 @ 8:52AM
Ok, understood. But how do you explain birther ism?
Arnie| 1.15.13 @ 8:55AM
To be fair, you may need to watch the full interview with Powell.
Joellen| 1.15.13 @ 9:04AM
Who brings up birther ism - Obama himself. How many times did he use it in his speaches. He does it to distract, as the good Alinksy student that he is, from what he and his ilk are working to do, transforming this country from a Republic to a third world country, and Powell & Scarsbonehead play along with him, as I guess so do you.
Arnie| 1.15.13 @ 11:43AM
No, actually he was responding to people on the right. He didn't make up the whole birther issue.

It was only removed prior to his run for president.
And speaking of explaining, how do you explain why Obozo has spent $$ millions keeping his college records sealed?
What ism is that exactly?

It truly is amazing. You leftists morons are the most counter-intuitive trolls in the entire universe.
Obozo and his allies in the leftist media laugh and impune all those who raise legtimate concerns about Obozo's past, mostly raised by Obozo himself!!! So why doesn't he release his school records? You don't care because you know the reason why.
Yet you same trolls were abuzz about who Trig's real mother was, and that Romney truly killed a former employee's wife because she had no health insurance, when indeed she did!!
I used to think a fair number of lefty trolls were just plain idiots, however, it's far more nefarious than that. You trolls are just plain dangerous, and we know where you want to take this country.
Well troll, NRA membership is up 250,000 since Newtown, without a single solicitation by the NRA. Guns and ammo are flying off the shelves.
When Obozo and Biteme talk executive orders, we don't need morons with J.D's from Columbia and Harvard to tell us what we know is "irrational".
Yes Arnie, Gen. Powell was right, "first we're going to cut off its head, and then we're going to kill it" Stick around, the fun is about to begin and you're part of it.

1992, Guantanamo Bay Cuba, in a dingy field hospital taking care of Leperous, Malarious, and Hilarious(who knew Haitians do great Standup?)Haitian Boat Peoples.
"There's a VIP coming" said the Brown Noseing Medical "Service" Corps Officer, "Get as many Minorities and Women in the ER as you can find"
"VIP"?? only "VIP" I could think of was Charlie Daniels, who'd played the night before.
And then Colon Powel walked through, after his Secret Service contingement had cleared the ER of all minorities, said a few words I can't remember, and he was gone, like a Ghost.

Powell had the GOP nomination his for the asking but he became Sec. of State under the ensuing administration. How can such a one state today that the GOP is somehow a racist, intolerant party. Are not the true racists those who very every issue, every comment and every policy through the prism of race? Instead of seeing people as members of particular groups, should we not view them as the individuals they are?
Bob Grant| 1.15.13 @ 9:08AM
I have a request of Colin Powell or any other African American who is sensitive to certain words uttered by Caucasians in reference to people who happen to be African American:
Could you please publish a list?
Because, man, this gets confusing. It's like some gigantic government program: Always changing, arbitrary, and illogical.
Colin Powell and obama have many, many similar traits, and bad ones: both are extremely disingenuous, self promoters, and harbor and inner anger that surfaces on rare occasions. They also tend to make divisive comments wrapped in measured tones with calm demeanor; I supposed I could have lumped it in with being disingenuous.
Oh BTW, is it racist for me, a Caucasian, to compare two black men? Again, these rules are confusing. Do I get points for trying?
Al Adab| 1.15.13 @ 11:44AM
Good question there Bob. Trouble is the only racist statements or words are those uttered by white Conservatives. See, no liberal can be racist because only they actually care about group identity. Since Conservatives treat people as individuals there is no room for group based prejudice. The code words only such when spoken by non-libs.

Anthony| 1.15.13 @ 9:37AM
Both Scarborough and Powell are total and comlete reprobates, without any redeeming qualities. They bow and scrape to the leftist hegemony that has poisoned our culture and has America on the verge of civil war.
Powell especially is a disgrace. In additon to what he did to Scooter Libby, by allowing Libby to swing in the breeze, (how's that for a racist insinuation?)knowing that it was his whore of an aide, Richard Armitage, who "leaked" the very open Valarie Plame's name.
Powell, whose entire success came at the hands of Republican presidents, from Reagan to Bush 43 shows his thanks by kicking the same party that made this "affirmative action" wonder the success that he is.
Powell used the classic cheap straw dog argument to attack Rs, and put words in people's mouths as well. Yet Powell is silent on Ds like Cuomo who also used the "shuck and jive" comment. How about the D former senate majority leader, KKK Byrd, and his "white ni**er" comment?
Did Powell also forget Bill Clinton's overt racist comment about what any empty suit Obozo is and that under normal circumstances, "this guy would be getting us coffee"?
No, Powell is a complete whore with a selective memory, and like whores, distains those that made their last gig a success.
Colin Powell has sunk to depths that even most leftist Ds haven't suck to. I despise Colin Powell, not for the color of his skin, but for the content of his character, or lack thereof.

I love it when regressives like you cite Jesus, G*d, the Bible, the Founders & the Constitution to make their vapid points, when those things are THE VERY things your ilk does everything in their power to undermine.
Arnie| 1.15.13 @ 4:50PM
Ghost many of the Founding Fathers despised, or simply tolerated the fundies of the day. I'm just curious, where does it say Jesus Christ in the DoI, or the Constitution? There might be a reason he's not mentioned.
As for the actual Jesus, I have no idea if he actually existed. But if he had, I'm pretty sure he didn't look like George Bush with long hair.

"It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded, not by religionists, but by Christians, not on religions, but on the Gospel of Jesus Christ! Hell, I'm Jewish, & I know this about our nation. Too bad you don't. Or you just choose to ignore it. However, in doing so, its not really surprising. You regressives excel at selective outrage as well as revisionist history. What else is new?
Arnie| 1.15.13 @ 5:07PM
Funny, Patrick Henry's words about the Gospel of Jesus Christ were vetoed from the founding documents I mentioned. I wonder why that is.

Ghost of Cicero (NB) | 1.15.13 @ 5:18PM
You obviously don't know how to read. Or interpret what you read. Its is BECAUSE of the foundation in the Gospels that our Republic IS the way it is.
And when the Founders referred to "the Creator," they didn't use those words to be politically correct. They were talking about G*d. Specifically, Jesus. Are you really that f-ing stupid that you don't realize that? Don't answer that question. Its apparent from your posts that you ARE, indeed, that stupid.
Arnie| 1.15.13 @ 5:30PM
Ghost, I know it's really hard for you to consider otherwise. If they just meant Jesus, why didn't they put it in there?
It's because they didn't. Because they did not want a theocracy....you know, that whole king from divine right ruse Europe was so good at for a long time.
The Creator can mean anything to anybody. That's why they used it. You are free to interpret it as you please.
Ghost of Cicero (NB) | 1.15.13 @ 5:38PM
I interpret it in the historical context in which it was written. And, again, they DIDN'T WRITE IT TO BE POLITICALLY CORRECT. "Political correctness," along with "social justice," are terms coined by regressive idiots like you.
There's a reason why Noam Chomsky & Bill Ayers are linguists & English teachers, respectively. Co-opt the language, & you can shape the debate. Keep trying to polish the turd that is your interpretation of history. It doesn't make it any more valid or correct.
Arnie| 1.15.13 @ 5:43PM
Did you consider that many of the founding fathers were influenced by the Enlightment...you know, when you considered your historical context?
I never said anything about political correctness.
So again, where does Jesus Christ, or even just Jesus, or Christ, appear in the DoI or the Constitution?
Ghost of Cicero (NB) | 1.15.13 @ 5:47PM
And again, who the F**K do you think they were referring to, other than G*d? And more specifically, Christ? They sure as shit weren't Jews or atheists.

First of all, if you're gonna call someone "piss for brains" & try to pass yourself off as their intellectual "superior," you should know the difference between "to" & "too."
Second of all, don't kvetch to me about not accepting Wikipedia as a source. If you were at all educated, which is highly suspect, you'd know that there is a very valid reason why almost every teacher, on any level, does not accept it as a source.
Finally, as for history, I prefer Herodotus, Plato, Aristotle, Cicero, Disraeli, Churchill, Dos Passos, Keegan & actual documents & texts. Not the Howard Zinn bullshat you so obviously take as gospel.

Yea, because Colin should be grateful to the Republican Party, or white people, or whatever you are talking about. Jeez, get a clue.

You're just a colossal gem of ignorance, aren't you?
Arnie| 1.15.13 @ 5:26PM
Oh, that's all you got? Some Dixiecrats? The Republican party dominates the South, just like the former conservative Democrats did, and that's all you got? Funny, Byrd comes from West Virginia. They don't like, Obama, but those white folks sure do like their welfare.
By the way, I'm glad the Dixiecrats are dead and gone. You Republicans have locked up that whole conservative vote.
Ghost of Cicero (NB) | 1.15.13 @ 5:43PM
And I'll be even happier when regressives like you, who wrap yourselves up in the very principles your ideology is antithetical to, all die out.
Conservatism pre-dates your short-sighted view of history. It was conservatives who were slaughtered by Caesar because they opposed his power grabs, thereby enabling Rome to become an Empire rather than a Republic. And it was conservative anti-Nazis who opposed Hitler. Never mind all those historical facts, though. They get in the way of your piss poor interpretation of what this Republic is all about.
Arnie| 1.15.13 @ 5:59PM

Biggie| 1.16.13 @ 11:27AM

CJW| 1.15.13 @ 6:49PM
Your party, Jefferson, Madison, Monroe, Polk, VanBuren, controlled the country's politics fromt he founding to the Civil War, and did nothing to end slavery.
The Rep party started as the anti slavery party in the 1850's.
The first Republican pres, Lincoln, ended slavery, and again your party opposed Reconstruction. Woodrow Wilson was a segregationist. The first Civil Rights Act, in 1957, was passed by Repubicans and some Dems and signed by Ike. The 1964 Civil Rights Act was opposed mainly by Dems, and filibustered by Dems, such as Algore Sr, father of AljazeeraGore.
It was Ike who sent fed marshals to Little Rock because the Dem governor tried to stop Meredith from entering college.
That is a pathetic excuse that the Dems were from the South. Robert Byrd was a member of the KKK, Justice Hugo Black, appointed by FDR, was a member of the KKK. George Wallace, Lester Maddox, Orval Faubus, all Dems. Does not matter where they were situated. They were Dems.
Today your party still is the party of bigotry. You accept only blacks who toe the liberal line, and denigrate any who are conservative, such as Justice Thomas, Sowell, Herman Cain, Condi Rice, and others.
Arnie| 1.15.13 @ 9:24PM
Guys, I'm not disagreeing with you that the Democrats used to be the party of the South.
The Civil Rights Acts of the 60s passed because most Democrats voted for it. Sorry, but the Republicans were not soley the fulcrum on which it passed. Most of it was due to Northeastern Democrats and Republican progressives, with Democrats actually providing most of the votes. The opposition came from the South, Democrats and Republicans alike. And yes, signed by Democratic presidents in the 60s.
Yes, of course the Republicans OF THE NORTH ended slavery in the 1800s. Total respect for the party for that.
But they were progressives for their time, more liberal and of the north, no doubt. But it was the South, the region that most supports Republicans today, that opposed ending slavery and segregation. That's the point. The parties simply don't have the same region and population bases that they had 130 years ago. That's the point. The Republican party today is the party of the South. Do you deny this?
And you guys denigrate even moderate Republicans at every opportunity. They are almost an extinct species now.
CJW| 1.15.13 @ 9:54PM
You are playing games by trying to say that whatever party is of the South is the party of slavery and segregation, and that because the Reps now win most of the South they are the party of slavery.
This is disohnest and false, and you make it because you have no answer to the historical facts that the Dem party was the party of slavery and the Rep party ended slavery. Those are historical facts you do not and cannot refure.
You should at least have the courage to clearly say what you imply. You are wrong and know it.
The fact that the Reps win in the South does not mean today's Rep party is the same as your Dem party was in its slavery and segregation days.
Name the Reps of the southern states, or any states, that are segreationists,or KKK members like Byrd and Hugo Black.
Back up with evidence your sly implications that today's Republican party, wherever located, is the same as your old slavery/segregation Dem party.
Arnie| 1.16.13 @ 8:11AM
CJW, get a grip. I never refuted that the Republicans were the party of the North and ended slavery. Cheers to them, that's awesome. And yep, they were big time liberal/progressives for their day. Did you even glance at what I wrote?
As for segregation, the Democrats actually had civil rightsand the end of segregation in their platform in 1948, before the Republicans had. And Truman integrated the military in 1948.
http://www.presidency.ucsb.edu.....?pid=29599
Now the Republicans did well with Ike. I love Ike, and if there was anybody like Ike in the Republican party today, I would vote for them. But modern GOP conservatives despise him because he was a New Dealer & Keynesian, and thought the military industry was out of control.
But all the Civil Rights legislation required many votes from Democrats. And in fact, it was Democrats who provided most of the votes for the Civil Rights Acts of the 1960s the Democrats provided most of the votes, and they were passed by Johnson. But yes, the southern Dems also provided most of the opposition.
Arnie| 1.16.13 @ 8:13AM
My point is that there were also Southern Republicans that opposed ending segregation. Here is the vote count of the big enchilada, Civil Rights Act of 1964.
The original House version:
Southern Democrats: 7–87 (7–93%)
Southern Republicans: 0–10 (0–100%)
Northern Democrats: 145–9 (94–6%)
Northern Republicans: 138–24 (85–15%)
The Senate version:
Southern Democrats: 1–20 (5–95%)
Southern Republicans: 0–1 (0–100%)
Northern Democrats: 45–1 (98–2%)
Northern Republicans: 27–5 (84–16%)
Will you look at that. No Republicans from the South voted for it. And in fact, the Democrats of the North were even more supportive of Civil Rights than the Republicans of the North.
As for Republicans that were supportive of segregation, well, William Buckley comes to mind who penned, Why the South Must Prevail, to which he wrote, "The central question that emerges . . . is whether the White community in the South is entitled to take such measures as are necessary to prevail, politically and culturally, in areas in which it does not prevail numerically? The sobering answer is Yes-the White community is so entitled because, for the time being, it is the advanced race."
Arnie| 1.16.13 @ 8:17AM
Additional racist Republicans are Bill Beeny of the Southern Baptist Convention. Or Republican Bo Callaway. Or Bob Jones of Bob Jones University. Or Republican Big Papa Lyons of Louisiana. Republican Rubel Phillips, and of course Strom Thurmond, who became a Republican in 1964. Clarence Morely, the Republican governor of Colorado was a member of the KKK, as well as their Senator Rice Means. Edward L Jackson, KKK member and Governor of Indiana.
The point is CJW, conservative people back then, regardless of party, supported segregation. It was the progressives, liberals, and hippies, and most important of all, black civil disobedience, that brought about Civil Rights. And yes, the South was the region opposed to Civil Rights. Guess which region today, and which party is the most anti-black, most against equal rights for gays, and where the white-vote votes overwhelmingly for Republicans. That would be the South. I'm not implying it, I'm saying it. The Republican party owns today's racist and generally intolerant people. Period. In general, the South has been the retarded, meaner brother of the North, that had to slap it's slower brother upside the head sometimes, and say, "Quit being so retarded and mean." It's still happening.
Bob Grant| 1.16.13 @ 8:53AM
Guess which ideology is the most anti-black? Progressivism, that's what.
The most racist president in our country's history? Easy, Woodrow Wilson - The father of progressivism! ...who happened to hail from THE NORTH!!!!!!!
Arnie| 1.16.13 @ 9:07AM
Yes true Wilson was a racist. He died in 1924.
But William Buckley, the godhead of modern conservatism, was a racist, and he just died a few years ago. LOL
CJW| 1.16.13 @ 4:03PM
Ok, purpie.
So when Wilson, a racist, decided to enter politics in New Jersey, a northern state, and run for Governor, why did he pick the Dem party? And when he ran for President, why did the national Dem party nominate him and work to elect him?
RCV| 1.16.13 @ 12:08PM
Sorry, Bob. Yes, Woodrow Wilson was the most racist President in history, but he was a Southerner. Born in Virginia to ardent Confederate parents, he was raised believing Lincoln was the devil incarnate. He did later move to Princeton, New Jersey and was elected Governor of that state, but he never shed his Southern upbringing on racial matters.
CJW| 1.16.13 @ 2:48PM
So Wilson was a racist because he was born in the South, or because he was Governor or New Jersey, or because he attended Princeton?
RCV| 1.16.13 @ 4:54PM
He was a racist because he hated blacks and considered them inferior. And he learned that from his Confederate parents.
Biggie| 1.16.13 @ 2:27PM
Progressivism is NOT the most anti-black ideology.
Woodrow Wilson was NOT the most racist president.in our history. (I don't know if you've heard, Bob, but some early presidents owned black people as property)
Woodrow Wilson was NOT the father of progressivism
Woodrow Wilson was NOT from the North
Now that we've cleared that up, how about telling us your point?
CJW| 1.16.13 @ 2:47PM
Arnie
Nice try. Who is Bill Beeny, Bo Callaway, Papa Lyons, Rubel Phillips? Nobody but you has hear of them.
Certainlyl not household names such as Jefferson, Madison, Monroe, VanBuren, Polk, Woodrow Wilson, Algore Sr, William Fullbright, Robert Byrd, Hugo Black, George Wallace, Orval Faubus, Lester Maddox, etc.
"conservative people back then, regardless of party, supported segregation" Not true. According to you the entire Dem party was conservatiave and therefore segregationist, and then suddenly, in the 1960's the Dem party was transformed to a pure, non segregatinist party.
Jessee Jackson, the Dem pres candidate, refers to NYC as Hymietown. That is the Dem idea of tolerance. Al Sharpton, another Dem heavyweight, refered to the Jews and Koreans as interlopers, another tolerant Dem.
You are not a serious person, but you are free to indulge in your fantasy history and intolerant views devoid of any reality. You have no facts, just opinions.

Your eloquence is very convincing. Your language shows you fit in with the racist, segregationist history of the Dems.
CJW| 1.16.13 @ 2:53PM
What year did Buckley say that, and please provide the citation. You do know that people change.
Didnt Harry Reid and Joey Biden just say that Obama is a clean, well spoken, articulate black guy, without the "kneegrow accent?" What do you think Harry and Joey meant? Would they say that about a white politician?
Arnie| 1.16.13 @ 4:02PM
"According to you the entire Dem party was conservatiave and therefore segregationist, and then suddenly, in the 1960's the Dem party was transformed to a pure, non segregatinist party"
I never fuckin said this you retard....?!?!? Can you honestly fucking read? Did you read my posts above? The Dems had a progressive Northern faction, like today, since the early 1900s. They also had a conservative Southern faction. I even fucking provided the votes by region above.
Scroll. Up. Idiot.

Very eloquently stated, and I can see why you joined a tolerant, progressive Dem party. They are luck to have you.

CJW, is ass your still red from that ass kicking?
Still can't find any holes in my data, huh?
Please, keep on telling the world how the Democratic Party that passed the Civil Rights legislation and has elected a black president twice is racist. You'll go far with that really.
Arnie| 1.16.13 @ 5:49PM
Do you still love your Buckley and the GOP since you found out they were racists?
Boy, it really shatters your false world view, doesn't it?

Arnie| 1.15.13 @ 5:32PM
By the way, did you look at the maps? Just curious...
CJW| 1.15.13 @ 6:51PM

Arnie| 1.16.13 @ 9:23AM

No, that's not it.

Its not about gratitude or loyalty. It is about associating with people and groups of which you claim you are a member and claiming you are something you are not. It is his deception and his dishonesty that is disgusting.
Bob Grant| 1.15.13 @ 4:38PM
...and who stood by his side when people on the left referred to him as a House "niggra", Uncle Tom, etc.? ...Was it Young Obama?
Don't you think Young Obama and Jeremiah Wright had a nice little chuckle when Harry Belafonte referred to him as a plantation house negro?
cicero| 1.15.13 @ 4:43PM
Maybe we miss the point. This is not about black or white. This is about Joe keeping a job, and Colin getting paid to say something MSNBC wants said. It is all great theater. Joe was never a Republican. He was a political climber. He could have been in either party. He ran as a Republican because that is where the opportunity was at the time. Now, he believes his best interests lie as a shill for the progressive party. It is the same with Powell.. His loyalty to party was based on Colin's best interests. He has determined now that the progressive side is where it is at. He doesn't need principle, he needs to stay employed.
Powell is much the same. He became a Republican when it was to his advantage to be so. Now it is to his advantage to say smarmy things about the Republicans. Do you really think he goes on these programs for free? The progressive never has enough money. He will destroy all around him for another $million, even though he couldn't spend what he has in three lifetimes. These folks are a disgrace to this country.

OMG, Mr. Lord - are you really this stupid?
Glenn Beck said "President Obama hates white people" and Donald Trump is a birther extraordinaire...
I can't get past your first 2 misdirections ... these people said it and you can't hide it. FFS, it's on videotape...
You Conservadums haven't discovered Videotape yet? Really?
Ghost of Cicero (NB) | 1.15.13 @ 5:45PM
Of course we have! How else do you think we would know about your "president's" "pastor?" You know? That same guy who's sermons would lead us to believe that anyone who sat in that "church" for 20 years would hate white people. And Jews.
Bob Grant| 1.15.13 @ 6:25PM
Purp,
I see your cousin Arneeeeee is here to assist you.

But despite his and Powell’s protestations, Scarborough explained that some prominent conservative opinion makers “didn’t listen.” To bolster his case, Scarborough pointed to stories linked on the Drudge Report, including remarks from conservative talkers Sean Hannity and Mark Levin, the latter of whom he did not mention by name.
