Hillary Takes a Fall

Why hasn’t she been hospitalized?

WASHINGTON — Think back. Have we not experienced all this before, say in the 1990s?

Ever since October we have known that the defense measures at our Benghazi diplomatic installation were inadequate. There was the controversy over whether or not the assault on our diplomatic compound was caused by a peaceful demonstration that went haywire. It turned out there was no peaceful demonstration, contrary to the State Department’s early account. But that was lost in the next controversy. That was the controversy about whether there was sufficient security at the installation. Officials from State appeared before Congress. Some testified there was sufficient security. Some said there was not sufficient security. Some State Department officials contradicted themselves. Ultimately the entire question was wrapped in chaos as still other questions became incomprehensible. Let us move on.

We have experienced this chaos before. Think back to the late Vince Foster. Think about the chaos of Whitewater. Think about, for that matter, the whole Clinton Administration, including their harum-scarum departure from the White House.

What do all these chaotic incidents have in common? They have the Clintons, of course, the most chaotic married couple in recent American history. Now Hillary Rodham Clinton, the secretary of state, is not going to testify before Congress — again chaos. At first she was, and she took “full responsibility” for the Benghazi tragedy. No, make that the Benghazi chaos. Then she was not. She had to travel. No, then she got sick and would neither travel nor testify. No wait a second! Things get worse. She fell at her home owing to dehydration and suffered a concussion and she absolutely will not travel nor testify nor go to the hospital. It is that serious, and she probably will not be watching the NFL on Sunday. Just to be sure.

Once again, there is chaos surrounding the Clintons, though I do not know what Bill is doing about all this. We do know that Martin Scorsese is filming a documentary about his life or at least his expurgated life.

The former first lady suffered a concussion. She became dehydrated and fainted. She never went to a hospital. So all we have is her word for that concussion. She is taking a week off and will be back in the office eventually. That is the official word from the Associated Press. There is no promise to appear before Congress on the Benghazi debacle, but there was a report in the New York Times December 9 that spoke of her limitless opportunities in the years ahead, among them a run for the presidency in 2016. There was no mention of Benghazi in the Times story.

“The former first lady,” the AP report tells us, “is known for her grueling travel schedule and is the most traveled secretary of state, having visited 112 countries while in the job.” The AP does not mention it, but while she was visiting 112 countries relations with Moscow, Beijing, and assorted hot spots have worsened.

All this chaos frankly troubles me and ought to trouble Congress. To begin with there is the chaos over Benghazi, not just about what started it and how well defended the installation was, but what were our diplomats and CIA doing there? That would be a good start. Then there is again the chaos over Mrs. Clinton. How is she doing health wise?

Why does she have no plans to appear before Congress? Does that mean ever? Will her health permit it? There are all sorts of rumors running through Washington. Some are absurd. Others are quite plausible. For instance, does she drink? Some say she does. Do you remember the picture of a sloshed Hillary balancing herself on her campaign plane during her primary race back in 2008? It was Hillary at her most convivial, but in light of more recent events it is cause for concern.

Those of us who have studied the Clintons realize that after every scandal — or call them controversies — the Clintons have followed a pattern of overreacting. This could be part of the pattern. She and her entourage at State orchestrated a cover-up around the Benghazi blunders. Then they panicked as the details came out. It would not be for Hillary the first time. It stressed her out. She went too far, thinking her concussion would be helpful. No one would question it. Yet now they do.

The Clintons, yes, both of them, know they hustled their way to wealth, fame and prominence by outrageous displays of chutzpah, shameless audacity and blatant perfidy. Before Barack Obama they were probably feeling pretty good about themselves and their ability to mislead and misdirect.

However, now they know their luster has been diminished by a true master, and I suspect they don’t like it one bit, yet at the same time they are emboldened by it. With most Democrats, the New York Times and some Republicans (e.g. Gingrich, still suffering Clinton inadequacy syndrome) calling Hillary the 2016 front runner, the Clintons must be relishing the chance to show what a little Obama tutelage can do to their old magic. Plus they know they’ve got an even dumber electorate now. And dumber opponents, for that matter.

This group of political misfits, hanger-ons, and would be deal makers, are too busy cowering in fear before the Great Obama. But on a serious note, Bush 43 destroyed the "Separation of Powers" and the "Power of the purse" with TARP. Obama, Reid and Pelosi then "fundamentally transformed" the country by eliminating all power in the Congress. They are window dressing. John Boehner might as well be a mime since no one knows what the hell mumbles said anyway. Whatever it was, it is not helpful.
The next four years will be the test of the States and Federalism. If they buckle in the South and West, all bets are off. We may have employment opportunities burgeoning in the loom business.

We are being told that the Secretary of State has suffered a concussion, and yet did not receive any medical attention. How is it that this vital and important national figure would not have gotten immediate medical attention, just to insure that there were no further complications???
We are being told that a woman, who probably hasn't spent more than a week in Chappqua NY in the last 2 years, suffered a concussion at home in NY. Wow!! talk about timing.

This woman has a stomach ailment which caused her to be dehydrated and was too stupid or dainty (shudder) or shy to call to any one of her many sycophants, aids, servants or family to ask for a drink of water?

This woman then falls or faints (there goes dainty again, shudder) and receives a concussion but refuses to go to the hospital and we are supposed to believe that????

Well, we did believe that she was able to make $100k trading cattle futures using only the knowledge she gleaned from reading the Wall Street Journal so I guess we should believe this whopper too.

It seems like only yesterday, for example, when Limbaugh was laughing about Hillary even RUNNING for the NY senate seat, when she was in the kitchen at the WH.

Scene: Frankie FiveEights,in FBI custody gets a visit from Tom Hayden to do the right thing about testifying any further. Next scene, Frankie is in the bathub, blood out of his wrist veins.

Analogy: Hillary does the DC equivalent of the slit wrist. She talks to Bubba. She "falls," has a "concussion," and loses her short term memory, and unable to testify about Benghazi. She protects Obama and herself for the 2016 campaign. It could have been worse, she could have travelled to Fort Marcy Park ala Vince Foster.

Everybody on this page has suggested this analogy, so it is not my original.

I think tghat our friends in Washington have managed to shift the light right where they want it. The entire dialogue is now on what State and the WH knew, and whether they just made a mistake about that spontaneous demonstration. The real issue has been buried.

We know that is was a well planned out attack. We know that State knew about it in real time. What I want to know ios who gave the "stand down" orders on any rescue attempt. There were two of our guys fighting for their lives for aver 7 ours before they lost the fight. There were trained teams within range. Where were they? Why was no attempt made to rescue those guys? Why has no one in Congress, and from the CIA asked that question? Could that be why Petraeus was outed, even though everyone knew about him and his pussycat? Cound that be why Hillary had her great fall? I would like to hear more about this.

The Somalia disaster in 1993 and the Benghazi one in 2012 were caused by two "Clintons" or was it one?

In both cases requests for re-enforcements, etc were refused by people a Clinton had their thumbs on. In both cases Americans died and no one was held accountable for the decisions that led to the debacle. There is a clear pattern there and the nature of "control freaks".

The worst Administration in our history and one that represents a clear and present danger to our liberties and property has continually ducked responsibility for actions its minions have carried out and people's lives have been lost or ruined. A large percentage of citizens support these actions which should alarm any sane person.

I'm fond of a phrase that points out the obvious, democracies have no accountability. We were warned about the consequences of losing a "republic". The follies of what is Washington, DC and much of the same in some State level governments is entertaining to many, enriches several but the consequences of a government without accountability will become deadly serious in time. There is an invisible line that once crossed cannot be undone. If the polls are correct this time, another Clinton will be President in 2016 with overwhelming public support and that will entertain and enrich many but not for very long.

When criminals are questioned, they often muddy the waters. They create distractions. They try to change the subject. They claim not to understand what's going on or what the investigator wants. They try to create the impression of cooperating while doing everything possible to impede the investigator.

In short, they behave exactly like the Clintons. They create chaos and try to escape behind the smokescreen.

The "slip-and-fall" is just the latest device from a couple of small-time crooks.
