The Conservative Revolt: Principles and Leverage

Grover, Reagan, an angry GOP base, and a demand for Fiscal Cliff TV negotiations.

Use principle. Use leverage.

Grover gets it. Brent Bozell gets it. The Heritage Foundation gets. Rush and Sean and Mark and their millions of listeners get it.

It’s time for the House GOP leadership to get it.

Or there will be another use of conservative principle and leverage in 2014.

You could call it The Conservative Revolt.

Or cleaning the House.

Boehner is a pragmatist. He sees the playing field but has lost sight of the goal. It is good to have a clever tactician on your team, but it's hard to argue Boehner is clever when his first words are those of capitulation. His purge of conservatives has not unified the opposition, has it? Meanwhile Obama stands aside to let his opposition commit suicide.

Jack in Wi| 12.6.12 @ 7:21AM

Getting rid of Boehner and Cantor should be item number one for any conservative. Obama, Boehner, and Cantor are all owned by Wall Street and always have been. It is time for some Main Street Republicans who understand the limitations of government to be the representatives of the Republican Party on TV. The goals of the Republicans should be low taxes, small government, decent moral values, an end to foreign aid and foreign entanglements, closing down departments, and local control of most everything. The Party of the opposition is supposed to oppose bad and evil, government. Boehner and Cantor want to facilitate it.

C. Vernon Crisler | 12.6.12 @ 9:27AM

Controlled by Wall Street? You meant to say controlled by Jews, Zionists, Israel, right?

Alan Brooks | 12.6.12 @ 9:43AM

But you think Obama is controlled by Muslims,
communists (pardon the shorthand) and socialists?
Perhaps you like Jews but you're not exactly overly-fond of blacks? they're on welfare? they have children out of wedlock? they conspire to pollute America's racial blood as Jews seek to cook their matzoh brei with the blood of Palestinian children?
The Evil Black Community Organizer from Chi-town seeks to dominate the world by way of crypto-Islamicism to have us all live in 800 sq. ft. apartments owned by HUD? his wife Moochelle will put children on a starvation diet?

As Jewish wirepullers want to dominate through Zionism, Obama the Wicked Chi-town Black Community Organizer wishes to control America through cryto-Islamicism? If only the Great Gipper's face will appear in the sky at the End Time to save us all?

Stkman| 12.6.12 @ 9:59AM

Jack, Crisler and Brooks, go away please. You are nothing on this site and you are nothing in your souls. You have nothing in common with the rest of us here. Your only purpose here is to antagonize, there is nothing kind or decent about that.
Leave us conservatives to ourselves.

Alan Brooks | 12.6.12 @ 10:07AM

Then tell your Rightist (not conservative- you conserve nothing anymore) cohorts to stay off the Left-of-center sites!

Stkman| 12.6.12 @ 10:45AM

I was hoping to reach the kindness of your heart Alan. Instead you show that you are spiteful, just like those from our side would invade your liberal sites. They are as wrong as you are, and as spiteful to boot.

Tom Kyba| 12.6.12 @ 11:13AM

Left of center? My, what a precious little ego you have. You keep believing that your misanthropic friends are just a little left of center. We will continue to roll our eyes.
Pretty gutless man.

Simon Templar| 12.6.12 @ 2:47PM

Yeah, you are correct, they are just lame as you are, Alan, and have the same need to prop up a little ego that needs constant attention like a juvenile delinquent that just has to get into it with the adults.
That is the first sensible thing you have ever written here. Of course, you really do not mean it, do you?
Listen very carefully Alan, as a former radical, I am quite aware and familiar with all liberal views. It is not these views that have ever concerned me as much as the liberal lies, denial, insincerity, aggression, and unwillingness to learn anything other than what liberals today are told. It is the childish, manipulative, illogical diatribes that you and your trolls spout out everyday that I detest.
I have said many times I could argue a liberal view better than most of you and probably could bring some greater perspective to many conservatives here on a number of issues whereby maybe both of us could learn something from each other and actually come up with some adult solutions that would respect each others motivations, concerns and principles.
Our founding fathers did not all think alike and some of them had some very different ideas on many things. Unlike you, they were not punks, thieves, and ideologues willing to say anything or do anything to get what they wanted. They were willing to listen, compromise, and learn from experience, not propaganda and agendas.

Jack in Wi| 12.6.12 @ 11:15AM

Your no conservative Stkman. If you were you wouldn't be such a yes man for the party elites who are pushing us over the cliff. Why don't you just go away if you can't stand the heat?

Stkman| 12.6.12 @ 11:26AM

Obviously Jack, you've not read any of my post. You are only hear to pull fece's from your ass and sling it at everyone.

Alan Brooks | 12.6.12 @ 11:34AM

If "Jackboot"-slinging wont do it, then you turn to scatology- and you think I'm the spiteful one, Stkman? You are a piece of work.

Simon Templar| 12.6.12 @ 2:53PM

Heat, is that what you call the hot air coming out of you? Wow. Heat. LOL. Man, do 'we' think highly of ourselves, don't we, Jack.
Ah, someone else that Jack confers is not a conservative. Well. Jack, you are not a libertarian, nor a conservative. Just a little troll from land of cheese who comes out here to post his little post to boost that little ego and feel important. Like, Alan, your cousin, you are not here to learn anything, concede anything, listen to anything, or actually debate or discuss anything.

Jack in Wi| 12.6.12 @ 3:25PM

You are no conservative and never have been Simon. Your just another blowhard who is shilling for the party crooks. I believe in the conservative values of small government, sound moral values, Peace, and properity. If you don't like it lump it.

Doctor Right| 12.6.12 @ 4:30PM

Actually, it's the homos that are destroying the country...

And the Gay black Jews are the worst!!!

Jack in Wi| 12.6.12 @ 11:12AM

You mean like Obama who has been owned by the Israeli lobby his whole political career? The Democrats Get most of the Jewish vote and a majority of their campaign funds from the Jews. Because I included Cantor I get this kind of response from Crislor, who's main job is to be one of the Zionist policeman on this site. Everytime something they don't like is mentioned, it is their job to yell anti-semite. Cantor is the goon who is pushing for the removal of the independent congressmen from their commitee assignments. It is mostly their independence on foreign policy he does not like. Republicans and conservatives get nothing from supporting Israel and it's many crimes. Why do we do it?

Doctor Right| 12.6.12 @ 4:33PM

Jack, you're just jealous because there's no "Disgruntled, Bitter, Angry White Crypto-Nazi Lobby."

If there was, you'd be the President. Then you'd feel better about yourself.

Dobbs| 12.6.12 @ 4:21PM

Yes! These 3 amigos are today's version of the Scottish noblemen who refused to join William Wallace and the patriots who wanted to fight for freedom against English tyranny. When the David Schweikerts and other patriots looked over their shoulders, they saw Boehner, Cantor, et al riding the opposite direction and allowing the enemy to win the day.

LONE STAR| 12.6.12 @ 7:26AM

Boehner is a spineless coward and needs to go.
All of the Bush tax cuts will expire at the end of the year.
If the Senate Democrats pass a bill extending the tax cuts for everyone earning less than $250,000.00, or whatever figure they choose, the House Republicans will need to vote for that.....The way things are set up, they will have no choice....They will not be voting to raise taxes on the top 2%, that is going to happen anyway. They can't refuse to vote for extending
the tax cuts for the other 98%.
On the other hand, House Republicans do not have to vote for any spending they don't like...They have the power of the purse, if they have the courage to use it, which Boehner certainly does not. They must decide up front to
hold firm in the face of enormous media pressure.
It's two years til the next election...all of this will be forgotten by then...Now is the time to take a stand.

Stkman| 12.6.12 @ 10:03AM

Lone Star,
My dear fellow Texan, it is not that Boehnor needs to go. It is we conservatives that need to go. We conservatives need to go to a new party, a conservative party, a Constitutional party, and we need to do it as soon as possible. There is no taking a stand with the Republican party when it is filled with liars like Boehnor and Cantor. We tried, we lost. The liars just outnumber the decent folks. We need to change that, and we do that by walking away from those dishonest liars and forming our own party. We can do this. We need a Perot, a Paul and few other American loving people with clout to help us. We can do this!

Dobbs| 12.6.12 @ 4:24PM

This is just the division the Democrats want to happen. No, we must change leadership and stay unified. A bunch of little parties can't stand up the Dems the way one big, unified, conservative party can.

MelvinNC| 12.6.12 @ 6:53AM

Boehner's name isn't John it's, "Judas."

Stkman| 12.6.12 @ 10:06AM

I'll use one of Tim's favorite names for the likes of Boehner, ck'skr. I been saying that what I wipe off the bottom of my shoe smells better than Perp, and it does. But when Purp smells better than Boehner, thats saying somthing. At least Purp is honest in what he says. Boehner is the worst of all kinds, a liar, and a traitor to America.

I'll accept transparency as a means to an end when I see King O's education records. Along with a compliance by King O's administration in providing documents requested by Congress.

Look, the transparency argument makes for a good read, but good magicians make a living by causing you NOT to look at what the other hand is doing.

TLP| 12.6.12 @ 8:40AM

Well, you're never gonna see those Records, Pesco, so let's move along now.

I read the first two pages of Mr. Lord's story, right up to where that Sesame Street Charachter was "Demanding" these Hearings be Televised. Apparently, Grover has forgotten that Obama is Pharaoh, and a Democrat Pharaoh at boot. You might as well DEMAND Answers for Fast and Furious, Benghazi, and The Black Panther Jail Break.

But, that doesn't mean that Cryboehnor doesn't have any Arrows in his Quiver. Sunlight, for one.

Go out there and Make Your Case. Speak out against the $250 Billion Stimulus/Walking Around Money that this MFer is trying to Shake you down for. Remind everyone what he did with the last $800 Billion. How he "Spread it Around" to HIS Public Sector Union People, like any good Precinct Boss, worth his Salt, would do. And remind them about the last time he Promised Shovel Ready Jobs in return for Free Money.

"Those Shovel Ready Jobs weren't that Shovel Ready" - cue the Laugh Sign.

TLP| 12.6.12 @ 9:11AM

Pharaoh is out there RIDICULING your offer of getting the Money from Waste and Fraud. "That's just not gonna get it done." Meanwhile, yesterday, a Great Man (who likes to steal my ideas) played President Barack the Pharaoh's OWN WORDS, from 2011, where he offers THE EXACT SAME PROPOSAL.

Perhaps you could mention these things on Every Sunday Show? Or the fact that Amerika's #1 Pointer Outer of the Heartlessness of Millionaires and Billionaires, who would Deign to do "Rich Guy Stuff" while other Americans do "Poor Guy Stuff" is about to take off on a $4,000,000.00 Luxury Vacation to a Tropical Paradise, while people all over this Country are SUFFERING.

As you obviously, are Illsuited, and Unable for the Task at Hand. (Standing Up to the King) I humbly offer my services, as Chief Strategist.

If you wish to Defeat your Enemy. You must become him.

That would be me.

It would be You Guys, if your Enemy was his Youngest Daughter.

Call me.

KennesawJack| 12.6.12 @ 9:14AM

Geez, Tim, I leave the Country for one lousy week and come back to find Boehner has, prima facia, switched parties while at the same time voluntarily submitting to castration by Obamarx. What the Hell is going on with the Republican Party? John "Obamacare is the law of the land" Boehner purges Conservatives from Committee leadership, thinks raising taxes is just swell, and he is STILL the Speaker of the House.

TLP| 12.6.12 @ 9:46AM

That red mark on his face?

I believe they call that Rosacia.

What's wrong with Boner and his Boneettes? They don't have Term Limits. They like being called Congressman, more than they like being called Courageous. When having Courageous on a Gold Plaque on your Office Door, gets you all of the Freebie Perks that "Congressman" gets them? Then, they MIGHT consider it.

They have been informed by their Effeminate Polesitters that the Future looks Dim for their kind. It's time to Get on Board the Tax Train, lest you get left behind when Obama's Scraps are cleaned from his table.

The Bible tells us that PRIDE goeth before the Fall.

Perhaps.

I believe that it is the Abandonment of Honour and Selflessness, and Fealty to a Cause that brings about a Man's Fall.

Especially weak Men, who long ago, ceased being Men, in any way, shape, or form.

"What does it profit a man to Gain the whole World, and Lose his Immortal Soul?"

I guess they'll find out, when their time comes.

Stkman| 12.6.12 @ 10:12AM

Who give a flyin f'ck about Obama's college records at this point?!
F'ck him, f'ck Boehner and F'ck the Republican Party. They can all go to hell!

Time to start a new party, and time's a runnin short. We either make a new party and get in the game or we gat ready to fight in the streets, or we just all shut the hell up and quit our whining.
So how do we start this new party? I don't know, one of you does though. Let's get this ball rolloing right now. What do we need to do to get a legitimate party started?
I would assume we need to have a name for it. I rather like, "Party Of Washington", as in George Washington. Or do we legitimize the Tea Party and call it the "Tea Party". Whatever party we make no Republican who doesn't totally denounce the Republican Party ans swear their allegiance to the Constitution of the United States should be allowed anywhere near it!

TLP| 12.6.12 @ 1:28PM

Just email me at tlpisthegreatestposteronthisestablishmentrepublicansite@tlpisthegreatestposteronthisestablishmentrepublicansite.com

Trust Me..........that's what she said at the picnic

Von Mises Jr| 12.6.12 @ 7:54AM

Three strikes and you are out. This article is more verbose than and almost as inane as the last two articles from Jeffrey Lord. It misses the point.

We do not give a damn if ObaMao and Boner stand on a tightrope in pink tights to negotiate raising our taxes ending in a deep hot kiss.

Obama said he wanted to end the Bush tax cuts. So be it. He owns it. Pass the extension for one year in the House and go the hell home for Christmas.

This is the equivalent of what Obama said when gas prices rose from $1.85 to almost $4. He said he wouldn't mind if they were $8. He just wanted it to happen more slowly.
So his intention is to raise taxes on people making Middle Class incomes and his regime is floating the idea of confiscating 401K and IRA Rollover Accounts from the top 20% . This is the goal and anyone who doesn't understand that is a damn fool. So let the taxes go up on half the population and let's start talking OUT LOUD about Obama targeting all retirement savings looking to transfer it to a National Retirement Plan that is the same as when he stole $716B in Medicare Premiums to pay for illegal’s, Muslims and drug addicts medical coverage.

KennesawJack| 12.6.12 @ 9:16AM

Von, for reasons that are, obviously, above my pay grade, Boehner simply does not appear to want to make Obamarx own this coming debacle. I don't get it. I just don't get it.

TLP| 12.6.12 @ 9:23AM

"Above my Pay grade".

How much does a Mime get paid, these days? I can't imagine it's that much. Although, I hear the Japanese love them, like the French loved Jerry Lewis.

And, I gotta believe you're one of the good Mimes.

In fact, you're probably "Miming" me, right now, with one of your fingers on one of your hands.

KennesawJack| 12.6.12 @ 9:36AM

It is because Boner and McConnell want you to send half of your money to DC instead of one-third just as Obama, Pelosi and Reid do, KennesawJack.

It is simply about the power at this point, and with bankrupt Social Security, Medicare and financing our debt by monetizing it will not end well.
So they steal from young Peter to give to old Paul. They steal from the SMB to give privilege to Buffet, Gates and Soros. They want to steal from the Red States to bail out the Blue States.
And while everything is swirling around and the people are in a daze, they get to keep their jobs and privilege.

Von

The more I think about it I believe the talk about a "cliff'" is phoney, and a way for the Dems to raise taxes and not cut spending. They do not want the automatic spending cuts.

If we do nothing there will be automatic spending cuts and a reversion to the Clinton era tax rates.

Since the Dems brag that the Clinton era tax rates produced a great economy, let them have the Clinton tax rates. At least we get the automatic spending cuts.

With any negotiated deal we will get tax rate increases and phoney cuts.

Both Reagan and Bush 41 agreed to tax rate increases for spending cuts that never materialized.

So the best we will get is the law they all agreed upon last year for automatic spending cuts and no extension of the Bush era tax cuts.

Von Mises Jr| 12.6.12 @ 10:51AM

I agree my friend. And this is what is going to happen in the short-term. Obama want this crisis.

In the long-term, they will try to spin it as "a thing that it is not" (Gulliver's Travel's), but Boner and McConnell will cave. That means that the rates will stay at the Clinton levels for the top two brackets (funny how it was 1%, then 2%, then top two Brackets and soon to be the 20% with IRA's) and they will lose their deductions (since they are just illegitimate loopholes anyway, right?).

So a good investment tip for people in upscale neighborhoods is instead of your kids setting up a lemonade stand, sell KY Jelly on the corners. There is going to be a shortage.

The fiscal cliff drama is simply just that. But the Bond Vigilantes are real. Don't buy government Bonds. It is a hot potato. When they reach "junk" status, that is exactly what one will have.

Dobbs| 12.6.12 @ 4:34PM

As the godfather of Chicagogangland said: never let a good crisis go to the waste. And as the Democrats say through their actions: never let a day go by without manufacturing a crisis. Thus the Obama Fiscal Cliff.

OP4| 12.6.12 @ 8:44AM

Ousting Boehner is the best thing that could happen to the GOP right now.

Let the sequestration spending cuts and tax hikes go through is the best possible outcome I can see. There are actual spending cuts!

And when everyone gets a taste of higher tax rates, they might lose their enthusiasm for high taxes and "free" stuff.

John Navratil| 12.6.12 @ 8:51AM

OP4,

"And when everyone gets a taste of higher tax rates, they might lose their enthusiasm for high taxes and "free" stuff."

I agree. Some people can be taught. Some have to figure it out for themselves and others have to be struck by reality. I don't expect we will see much progress until that last group gets the message.

Dobbs| 12.6.12 @ 4:36PM

The problem is that in the good old days, lefties swung to the right when they turned 40 and woke up to understand the foibles of big government. Now they're so dumbed down, it takes them until 80.

Von Mises Jr| 12.6.12 @ 9:10AM

Yes they do Big E. I know many Upper Middle Class and Middle Class people that love Obama and redistribution. But they don't realize yet that they are talking about their stuff.
If you are a couple in the Northeast and you are not earning $150K ranges as a middle aged couple, you are not living large. So these morons still think that they are safe since the bama is only going after the top 2%, or at least not anyone under $250K AGI. But they be wrong.
I know some families that have accumulated wealth over a couple generations that have no idea that the bama is going to take 55% over $1M. So when they sell the family business or die, the next generation may be fairly well off if there are not many siblings, but within a couple generations the families will be very Middle Class again. But they just think "that can't happen, and it certainly won't happen to me."
No one is accusing liberals of being smart.
It is already the law and takes effect in less than four weeks. If they knew, they might kill pops before the New Year.

Indy| 12.6.12 @ 9:48AM

Funny how there is a fire sale going on in the Hamptons...anyone want to buy a mansion?

http://www.nydailynews.com/lif.....-1.1213534

I would not want to reside in deep blue states with the state taxes on top of new ObamaCare taxes + federal taxes to come...

Von Mises Jr| 12.6.12 @ 10:42AM

I'll bet you that is Perp's house, Indy. You can tell by the sophistication that it is perfect for him, her, or it (whatever)!

The truth of the matter is that they are dumping houses such as these since OsamaCare taxes 3.8% of the selling price of a home if you earn over $200K as an individual or $250K married. Perhaps Perp can marry his Service Pony if he falls in-between the brackets.

But if you bought this house for $5M and it is now valued at $4M, it will cost you $152K in taxes to sell it. But the person who would buy it also knows that they must pay another $152K if they ever want to get out beneath this cloud. So the house that is already down 20% will fall another $300K in less than four weeks.
Then Christie (and I am sure Cuomo is planning the same) is calling for higher taxes to pay for Sandy. It's a double whammy.

TLP| 12.6.12 @ 1:35PM

Why would he Marry his Service Pony, when he can get the Sex for free?

Drunken Sailor| 12.6.12 @ 3:27PM

Mr. Lord, if you really imagine that the Republican leadership in the hourse is going to do anything other than abandon their principles then you are delusional.

The irony is, of course, that going over the "fiscal" cliff gets the Democrats exactly what they want - and have wanted for years - higher taxes and deep cuts in the military. They can then simply get the problems "fixed" by introducing a bill to lower the now increased rates on those making less that $200,000 a year - or whatever other number they decide to deem "rich" - and restore the sequestration related entitlement cuts to medicare and the like. Do you really think Boehner and company would oppose those "fixes?"

Congressional Republicans were beaten on this from the moment they agreed to sequestration. They were outmaneuvered, outsmarted, and out politicked. The Dems set up a scenario where all they had to do get exactly what they wanted was demand more than they wanted and then let the Republicans be themselves, and Boehner and crowd bought it hook, line and sinker.

I remember so well watching the Soviets play the European "nuclear freeze" morons and their countrparts in the U.S. for the fools that they were/are.
That disgusting piece of leftist agitprop movie, "The Day After" could have been written by the Soviet Politburo, and it probably was. The Communist Party U.S.A. was up to its eyeballs in attempting to defeat Reagan on this. I remember there was a "national discussion" after the movie, and I was sickened to death as to how the nation was being played for fools.
Not much has changed, except the Left is far more brazen and corrupt now than it was in Reagan's time.
Fast forward to today, the R leadership is weak, as well as morally and intellectually bankrupt. They are completely incapable of doing the right thing for America. They are political pigmys concerned only about their status in Washington.
The only way America is saved from these bastards is to shake up Washington as never before. It's about to happen.
They have turned the Shining City on the Hill into Detroit. They should be ashamed of themselves, but these whores have no shame.

"It is time for conservatives to start looking for a new home. There's precious little left for us here."

I've been saying this since 2008. None of us here have any need for a party that lies to us and continually stabs us in the back.
We must form our own conservative party and do it now so we can win seats in 2014 and have a Presidential nominee in 2016.

Dobbs| 12.6.12 @ 4:43PM

Only the GOP could dribble away the incredible momentum of 2010 in just two very short years.

Whig| 12.6.12 @ 10:29AM

I disagree about trying to create a new party--given that the laws in states favor the two party system then creating a third party to achieve ballot access is daunting. Instead, take back the Republican party precinct/district by district. Take over the party apparatus. Those of you in blue states have an advantage as most of the party organization has withered. Get rid of the primary and restore conventions or a caucus to nominate candidates--primaries will attract the show horses instead of work horses as candidates. If you take back your party, then taking back the Government is far easier than creating a new one from scratch.

Stkman| 12.6.12 @ 10:51AM

So what your saying is that if it takes a hundred years thats fine.
Let me ask you something Whig, what elections laws and rules that Democrats and Republicans have put in place would pass Constitutional muster? NONE. We still have the right to right in if we want. We also have the unenalienbable right to dISSOLVE THE GOVERNMENT AS WE SEE FIT.
How many times must you be lied to? Why take years and years to try and convert liars and theives from the Republican Party when you can start fresh and beat these son's of bitches at their own game in two years?

KennesawJack| 12.6.12 @ 10:54AM

Show horses as opposed to work horses is exactly right. And, Stkman, Whig is right about not creating a new party. We can't win the war if we desert the battlefield. We have to take back the party, one step at a time. Just watch what happens to Saxby Chambliss here in Georgia the next go 'round. Jim DeMint just announced he is resigning from the Senate. Gov. Haley gets to name his successor. She's a true Conservative so her appointment will be another DeMint type. We need to stay and fight within the ropes. We WILL prevail.

Stkman| 12.6.12 @ 11:13AM

Did Geaorge Washington keep Bendeict Arnold after he committed treason? No. You guys have it wrong. you don't assosiate yourself with a band of thieves and expect others to join you.

The choice has become clear. There are two evil political parties in this country. One run by Satan, the other by Judas, and you guys want to trust that you can turn one of them into something honest? You can fool yourselves, but you won't fool me. As a member of the Tea Party I know full well the Republicans will never succumb to looking after anything but their own self interest.
I'm doing my best to make a good arguement for an honest political party. I don't think I'm doing too well at it though.
Jack, when you say, "We need to stay and fight within the ropes" it tells me that you want to play by the rules. It tells me you're a nice guy and you beleive in doing things in an honest and upfront way. Am I wrong? What I'm saying is, there are no longer any rules. When you are being pissed on, and the person doing the pissing is laughing at you while he's doing it, do you go by the rules and wait for the police to come make him stop pissingon you? Or, do you man up and knock the living *hit out of him!?
I've been patient since Bush 1 started the "New World Order". Translated the New World Order means, "No Loyalty to America". I have no patience for the Republican Party. They are liars and thieves and are in fact no better than Obama and his minons, possibly they are even the same.

Dobbs| 12.6.12 @ 4:46PM

You are right: the third party plan is exactly what Democrats want because that finishes off the GOP and puts them in charge until the Rapture and beyond.

First we have to take back our own party from the minority that hijacked it. In my state, the McCainiacs took over following the 2008 debacle. He fought us harder than he fought the Dems or Obama. We must throw his people out and then move on to the next level of battle, or else we're spinning our wheels in mud.

To those of you who wish to stay in the Republican Party and try to reform it, I'd like to try an analogy and see if it might sway your thinking a bit.

If you were to catch your wife sleeping with a Kenyan, how long would you permit it before you filed for divorce knowing that in today's America the judge will award the house to the cheating spouse?
Translation, The leader of the Republican Party is your wife. You will be kicked to the curb and your wife, Ms. Boehner is going to keep the house. Now, what are your choices? To decide to not get the divorce and stay in the house with the adultering Ms. Boehner or to get the divorce and give that bitch the house and start a new better life life in a new better house with some hot young chick(the new consevative party)?
If you're gonna get screwed, do it on your terms. Not on that adultering whore Ms. Boehner's terms. Like I said yesterday, do you slowly pull of the band-aid and go through all that pain(trying to reform liars in the Republican Party) or do you yank it off quickly and only have pain for a second(get the divorce).

Excellent commentary, JL! I'm with you on this.

So let’s call the Democrats what they are: an “evil empire.” They lie, cheat, steal elections, do whatever they can get away with, manipulate the left-stream media to do their bidding. They went over the cliff into the moral abyss long, long ago. They are galloping around the town square of Gomorrah.

I agree the negotiations over the Obama Fiscal Cliff must be televised, that compromising Republicans should be financially starved out of leadership and re-election by the conservative base, and that Reagan’s philosophy should be ours today: “we win, they lose.”

What do the Democrats so often do? They sanctimoniously accuse of Republicans of what they themselves do – dishonorable things at that. Romney didn’t take them on over this. Few, if any, Republicans did. They played nice guys thinking they could pick up a snake and not get bitten.

Let not the Democrats paint Republicans into the either-or corner of the only choices being either raising taxes or raising the debt ceiling!

Instead, House Republicans, paint the picture of reality: this is Obama’s Fiscal cliff. He created it. And he owns it. Expose him!

And if you are not willing to lead, House Republicans, move out of the way now.

Stkman| 12.6.12 @ 4:27PM

OMG - are you delusional.

Who tried to suppress the vote? Wisconsin, Ohio and Florida - all States run by the GOP!

Conservadums repealed the Fairness Doctrine so that the Conservative Ideology could be incessantly pushed by Rush and Fixed News, with no rebuttal necessary.

The Reagan Admin buffaloed the MSM to report both sides of an argument - not the truth. What's news about a debate, when facts are what are the real news? You can look it up how they buffaloed the media.

We're going over the Cliff and Republicans are being blamed for it, as they should and will also be blamed for holding the country hostage over the debt ceiling, like they were the last time the Conservabozos tried that scheme.

The Republican Party has been the divide and conquer party - but I understand that you're pissed that the Democrats learned how to do it too - tough, your side started it. Live with failure.

Democrats are not painting Republicans into that corner - the American people did by voting for tax increases and making government work. Did you miss the election? YOU LOST!

Funny for you, but the people don't blame the President for any of this mess - they know where the real culprits are - follow the money. It always leads to the guilty. Corporate Feudal Lords and their Republican shills. And America has awakened to their 30 year propaganda campaign. It's over and so are they.

So the new "boogeyman under the bed" is now the "fiscal cliff". So, turn on the light! If no deal is reached, what is the worste that can happen? Spending will be automatically cut (Hurrah), and taxes will be raised to where they were during the Clinton years. Not the end of the world as far as I can see. All those folks that voted to continue on the yellow brick road will have to pay more taxes, and spending will be cut. That will cause the deficit to stop growing, and the debt to be paid down (wishful thinking) and everyone will see the reality of the state of affairs. Any deal that is struck will merely keep the charade going until everyone in the country (except the super rich and the super rich politicians) is hit with the reality of hyperinflation.

Send congress home, and let the spending cuts go into effect. Let the taxes renew the same that they were before Bush, which will add about 20% more people to the tax rolls. My guess is that the economy will either take off like a shot, or the Obama voters will revollt and take to the streets. (What do you mean I have to pay for my free stuff?) It will not be the end of the world. It may be the end of a few political careers. So sad. . .
