Exploding Daisy-Cutter Hot

Welcome to the United States of TMZ.

Women love a man in a uniform. Men love a woman out of a uniform. Old verities stand affirmed by the intelligence that ousted the director of the Central Intelligence Agency.

General David Petraeus commanded U.S. forces in Afghanistan. But what man is really in command when face-to-face with a determined Paula Broadwell? The author of the appropriately titled “All In” conquered Petraeus in a way that neither the Taliban nor al Qaeda could. Terrorists aren’t the only ones who target generals.

Broadwell gives new meaning to “hagiographer.” The overused term, which 99 percent of the time tells us more about the reader’s bias toward the subject than the writer’s, for once doesn’t go far enough. Not since Maya Angelou finished the last of her six autobiographies has a biographer worshipped a subject so completely.

And it’s not hard to see what the general saw in the comely camp follower.

Who becomes homecoming queen and valedictorian? Paula Broadwell does.

The Army Reserves lieutenant colonel, like her retired general ex-boyfriend, graduated from West Point. The Wall Street Journal reports that Broadwell finished twelfth among 1,353 woman in Charlotte’s half-marathon last year at a 7:21-mile pace — not the general’s top speed, but not bad. The alpha female performed sixty perfect pushups with ease on beta male Jon Stewart’s program. Paula Broadwell can beat you up and break your heart.

At some point along the way she even perfected the come-hither gaze, evident in nearly all of the photos of her accompanying online stories. But, as any viewer of Fatal Attraction could tell you, the mischievous glance morphs into crazy eyes once another woman threatens marked territory. Broadwell’s ultracompetitive spirit, which had served her so well in life, ultimately got the best of her. The stay-away-from-my-man emails, displaying a possessive streak only one who has possessed another’s possession could possess, sent to the attractive and equally married Jill Kelley may have ensured that Broadwell’s men — her husband and boyfriend — stay away for good.

Passion is hot. Crazy? Not so much.

Surely the electronic missives backfired in other ways. Taking extraordinary measures to remain anonymous ensures maximum curiosity. Welcome to the United States of TMZ. We really shouldn’t know about this. But now that we do it’s all that we want to know about. The American public, and their private investigators in the Fourth Estate, intrude more aggressively than the Stasi.

This, of course, pertains to private lives and not public actions. Mrs. Broadwell’s interest in Petraeus reinvigorates the media’s interest in the Benghazi attack of September 11. Did the political or intelligence wing come up with the “spontaneous demonstration” line? Why did the administration leave our guys to die? Did we detain terrorists there? The media may finally get the public answers for the questions they dared not ask during the campaign.

A dead ambassador just doesn’t captivate the way a sexy adulteress does. The fifth commandment may trump the sixth as far as God is concerned. But the press doesn’t see it that way. It usually takes something silly for journalists to take notice of something serious. It requires a sideshow for them to notice the circus.

Like Benghazi, the Petraeus-Broadwell story isn’t as muddled as the mush-head media portrays it. Nietzsche’s criticism of academics also works for journalists: They muddy the waters to make things seem deep.

Rocket-propelled grenades, mortars, and complex coordination don’t sprout from spontaneous demonstrations catalyzed by amateurish internet videos. One needn’t have read any of the reports to correctly pin the killings on terrorists. Seeing the date above the byline would have sufficed.

The increasingly convoluted story — shirtless pics from an FBI agent, strange claims of diplomatic protection, and hundreds of emails between another general and Broadwell’s perceived rival — about l’affaire Petraeus is nevertheless simple to understand. Why did one of the world’s most powerful men risk reputation over a not-so-secret admirer? Don’t read the articles. Look at the pictures.

Cherchez la femme...I wonder how Dr.Broadwell and Dr. Kelly are handling this ? Straying wives of the USA...

Jack in Wi| 11.16.12 @ 7:23AM

This whole incident in Libya is nothing but incompentence leading to lies and coverup. Obama is not a hands on manager and the people he has working for him blundered badly. Put to the top of the list Hillary, Rice, Petreaus, Holder, the FBI, CIA, etc. Obama helped turn over Libya to terrorists by sticking his nose into the internal affairs of that country. Gaddafi was right when he said the people against him were Al Quiada. Lindsay Grahame and McCain are the last people to be complaining. They were more gung ho going into going into Libya than anyone.

On a differnt note. I have a distant cousin, a graduate of West Point, about Broadwell's age, who recruits third world people to guard our embassies, as contractors. He gets them cheap and the contractors get huge profits. Marines used to traditionally used to do this work. The trouble is we have so many huge embassies all over the 3rd world where people, hate us there aren't enough of them. Get the hell out of these places where people hate us. We don't need them and they don't want us around.

TLP| 11.16.12 @ 7:37AM

Now, there you go again, making sense.

The only problem is: You don't take your own advice.

You're always crying the Blues about the Jews vs the Peace loving, Bomb throwing, Rocket launching, Honour Killing Sand Ni**ers over there, Sh*ttin in their streets, and Strapping Bomb Belts to their kids.

THEY DON'T LIKE US.

Take your own advice, and FORGET'EM.

And, never forget that: If they ever got their hands on you? They would gut you like a Deer. Cut off your Cck. And then they would Shove it in your Mouth, right after they got done Cuttin your Head off.

Would the Jews do that to you, Jack, if they got their hands on you?

You need to Wake Up.

Jack in Wi| 11.16.12 @ 7:52AM

Typical defender of Israel. Use of obsenity profanity and nonsense are all you got. Let Israel defend itself with it's own blood and treasure. That racist pimple on the banks of the Dead sea has cost us trillions in the last 62 years. It is time for the great welfare queen to finally pay for itself. This country is broke because of all the wars and high energy prices Israel has cost us. Not another penny or drop of blood for Israel. Israel is a complete waste of time for Republicans. We were far better of with the policies of Eisenhower, Nixon, Reagan and old man Bush who looked at Israel with a wary eye. Since 2001 following the neocons over the cliff has destroyed the Republican Party and conservative movement. We get absoluty nothing from backing Israel. 70% of Jews voted for Obama and gave him a majoriy of his campaign funds. campaign funds. They are liberals, so why shouldn't they. They hate conservatives and conservative, believing Christians, with a passion.

TLP| 11.16.12 @ 8:36AM

Still waiting for your answer.

Would the Israelis Gut You, Castrate You, and stuff your Dick in your Mouth after they Cut Your Head Off, like your Goat licking, Pedophile, Sociopath Arab Buddies would?

Please answer the question.

ANSWER THE QUESTION!

Maxwell| 11.16.12 @ 8:55AM

TLP, I'll answer the question for you. The story goes back to Jack's high school days when he was trying to date the high school prom queen. No matter how hard Jack tried he could not even get to hold the little queens hand. The young queen even told him he was not a man enough. Then along comes Hymie Goldberg wearing a pencil holder in his pocket, half of his shirt hanging out, thick glasses, was on the math debating team, but could calc & diffie que's in his head. The prom queen was smitten! Jack never recovered.

TLP| 11.16.12 @ 9:10AM

Ya know? I think I know that Hymie Goldberg guy.

It's election time in Israel. Time to murder a couple thouand of the caged inmates in the Gaza Concentration camp, most of them women and children. There will also be thousands of other casulties. It satisfies Israeli blood lust every election. After all Israel was founded by racists, communists, socialists, and fascist. Nutanyahu comes from the fascist branch of the Zionist movement. He and his old man were committed racists who will either who wanted to either expell or in the worst case exterminate the non Jewish majority in Israel Palisitine and Gaza. Hitler would be proud of you people.

Seek| 11.16.12 @ 12:52PM

Your statistics are as suspect as your arguments. As in equally preposterous.

RCV| 11.16.12 @ 8:26PM

You mean those caged guys who've been launching more than a thousand rockets into Israel this past month? Those peace-loving people?

Rhoetus| 11.18.12 @ 6:15PM

RCV: don't confuse Jack with inconvenient facts. ;-)

TW in SC| 11.18.12 @ 10:20AM

Jack I seldom care what you post but your thick bile hatred of Israel escapes me and I can only assume that you are a hard core anti-semite.

When one fails to support Israel, one also fails to recognize that the core of the Judeo-Christian ethic is at stake. By tolerating the muslims' hatred of Israel and Jews, you are endorsing their actions which run 180 degrees out from Western thinking. Why do you do this?

Why do you hate Israel so? What did it do to you? What, by association, have the Jews done to you, personally? Why do you object to them having their own nation? Is it because you think that the presence of Israel is the actual source for all the unrest in the ME? If so, you need to re-think your assessment of how the ME operates.

I think you are sorely mistaken as to why seventh century sand-people war with each other. Take Israel away and you think there'd be peace? Remember Saddam Hussein and Kuwait? No Jews or Israel involved.

Tribal. Prehistoric. Neanderthal.

Oldefarte| 11.16.12 @ 10:55AM

Hey JackAXX, I have some earth-shattering news for you [now that the politics have ended and before this country dies starting on 1/1/13]. It ain't the Jews/Israelies that we've been fighting wars for in the ME. Duh, huh? IT'S THE OIL, STUPID [and the Jews/Israelies don't control same]. Ever heard of DEMOCRATS? Well, once upon a time before you were probably born, these D's started their environmental wacko-ism, rant the oil companies out of this country because of same, and now we to buy at OPEC inflated prices

Oldefarte| 11.16.12 @ 12:11PM

Continuing [Jackaxx]: This is why these wars have occurred in the ME, not because of Israel. This country would economically die without a supply of oil necessary to run our planes, trains, factories, homes, businesses, etc; and we have been forced by your favored Democrats for most of my lifetime to beg, steal and borrow for this ME oil. This last election represented a chance to begin to produce/drill the vast oil resource-supplies that we have in this country [which would have benefitted this country enormously] but oh no, the dumbazzes like yourself had to re-elected these domestic terrorists aka Democrats. Well Jackazz, as it is now being said YOU OWN IT, so STICK IT WHERE THE SUN DON'T SHINE [AND WATCH YOURS, MINE AND EVERYONE ELSE'S ARSES DISAPPEARING DOWN THE TOILET BOWL BECAUSE OF YOUR 11/6/12 STUPIDITY]!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

CJW| 11.16.12 @ 11:26AM

Jack
Why are you obsessed with Israel?

Jack in Wi| 11.16.12 @ 12:14PM

I am not obsessed. I am perfectly happy to let Israel pay for itself and defend itself without any American assistance. I don't believe in endless welfare for thieves and murderers. I didn't bring up Israel on this thread. The people who do are the ususal suspects who troll the site.

CJW| 11.16.12 @ 3:07PM

So you will not bring up Israel or Jews again unless someone else does.

Jack in Wi| 11.16.12 @ 3:51PM

Thats all I ever do. Some of the commenters and writers here are obsessed with Israel. Somebody has to answer the lies and nonsense you guys put out. I believe in the truth. For the the Truth will set you free. You Israel firsters have nothing but lies, nonsense, and obscenities mostly homosexual. It is really the mark of depraved minds. No-one can answer the truthfull and factual comments I write in a rational manner. So the go back to the usual tactics of name calling, racism. lies, and nonsense.

C. Vernon Crisler | 11.16.12 @ 4:57PM

I really don't know of that many people who talk about Israel here. You, however, constantly refer to Israel in the nastiest way. You are the one who is obsessed with Israel.

It doesn't seem to occur to you that when Israel is attacked by terrorist missiles, it can't just adopt your pathetic pacifism. It would cease to exist. But of course, that's what you want right?

You could always go to Israel and stand in the path of one of those Hamas rockets and then blame your death on those terrible Jews.

Jack in Wi| 11.16.12 @ 7:23PM

Israel was founded by and is still run by terrorists. This present attack on Gaza has long been in the works as a Nutanyahu campaign ploy. If he can't get us to attack Iran he is going to go to Gaza and murder some more women, children, and old people. Of course they started by killing some innocent Palistinians and now they claim they are attacked, when they fight back. It's the same old story with Israel. All they do is racism, torture, terrorism, theft and murder. Read something else Vern then the Zionist controlled press in this country. Even the Israeli press is more objective.

Rhoetus| 11.18.12 @ 6:22PM

Islam is now a vehicle to murder western civilization, its hatred of Jews is just the beginning - 9/11/01 was just another example of their terrorism. Too bad you weren't born an Israeli or worked at the World Trade Center.

Dai Alanye | 11.16.12 @ 4:35PM

News flash: Jill Kelley is an Arab. Not in the least surprised, but now we need to find out if she was an agent of influence.

Also, I wonder whom she voted for?

Cpm| 11.16.12 @ 5:52PM

She's dined at the White House three times this year.

Occam's Tool| 11.16.12 @ 3:11PM

The only question I have is who set up our American Ambassador to Libya to be anally raped by Jack in Wi.'s friends and pals. By the way, Jack, you have just violated Godwin's law. Calling Jews Nazis for defending themselves from missile attacks is pretty rich. ("Hitler would be proud of you" IS calling someone a Nazi in my book. TLP, Seek, concur?)

Ah, well. In other news Claire Berlinksi just asked the real me to be listed in as a contact on Linked-In. She ASKED me! I'm smitten.

Claire Berlinski is hotter than, smarter than, and a better scholar, strategist, and writer than a combination of David Betrayus and his horndog MILF any day of the week. She's also much, much nicer.

TLP| 11.16.12 @ 3:41PM

Do I concur?

You should know by now, that I've always got your back.

Claire Berlinski?

Occam's Tool| 11.16.12 @ 6:57PM

TLP, you are a beautiful human being. Look up Claire. I will wait. My mind is reeling, as yours would be. Imagine if WFB asked you to be a Friend on Facebook. It's like that.

Oldefarte| 11.16.12 @ 4:26PM

"The only question I have is who set up our American Ambassador to Libya to be anally raped..." If it were only possible to [with a few hundred atomic bombs deposited out of overhead B-52's [Nagasaki-style] to instead DO UNTO OTHERS AS YOU WOULD HAVE THEM DO UNTO YOU?????

Occam's Tool| 11.17.12 @ 12:54AM

No Oldefarte, "before they do unto you." I'd like them to stop being depraved savages and leave little Jewish and Arab girls alone. I know I coul;d deal with Jack's depraved view of Jewish children on my own. But when they come at you with missiles, well then you need an army.

Alan Brooks | 11.16.12 @ 11:06PM

Who could resist a woman such as Broadwell? Flynn is too hard on those outside his OWN military circle: when Flynn's contacts can't keep a woman in a uniform or civvies, they are only guilty of youthful indiscretion; while to Flynn, a Petraeus is nothing but a Bluebeard.

Alan Brooks | 11.16.12 @ 11:14PM

What matters to me is that Selective Service be terminated, I do not want the slightest possibilty of youths being conscripted anymore. Remember how the militancy of 1965- '73 began and ended with the Draft.

Rhoetus| 11.17.12 @ 12:36AM

Jack: How do you know that BHO aka Chairman ObaMao is not a hands on manager? I think that a good case can be make that he is getting most of his desired goals, we all know that he's a fraud and a liar. He's a damn good con-man. His supporters can't get off his hook while he reels them in.

Alan Brooks | 11.18.12 @ 4:10PM

You keep running candidates for president who are guaranteed to lose-- but you blame Obama?
You are as the Dems were, blaming Reagan for defeating Carter in '80! The better candidate USUALLY wins. Sometimes not: Ford was better than Carter

Cobalt| 11.16.12 @ 8:57AM

I've read a lot of excellent op-eds here on American Spectator, including ones by Mr Flynn, but this one is just not up to the Spectator's normal calibers of quality and intelligent analysis, in my opinion. It does have a lot of common-sense truths in its paragraphs, but it's really quite "ho-hum." Maybe it's just a little too common-sensical?

TLP| 11.16.12 @ 7:25AM

Maybe your senses are just dulled, from the never ending Parade of Sclock and Bullsh*t, that has become the Mainstreamed Culture around here.

A General gettin some on the side? A Powerful Man being seduced by some Power Groupie Slut, who gets all moist at the sight of 4 Stars. Who soaks herself at the very thought of the Limousine to the Helicopter - to the Yacht - to the South of France.

I get it.

What I DON'T GET, is all the big Hullabaloo.

I thought that "Everybody does it"? I thought that it was ASSUMED that this always happens, and that everybody should just Lay back, Quit screaming, and just enjoy it? And, if need be - "Put some Ice on it".

Besides. How is any of this The General's Fault? I thought that this was what you got when you dragged a Hundred Dollar Bill through a Trailer Park?

Isn't this woman a LYING B*TCH?

Isn't she a STALKER?

A BIMBO?

A WHORE?

Maybe the problem is that Petraeous came out and Admitted it? Maybe if he had just Denied it ever happened, Lied through his teeth, and had some of his people go on the Sunday Shows and give this B*tch the Business.

He shoulda hired some Scumbag P.I.s to give every minute of her life on Earth, a major Anal Examination, followed by Spokespeople making sh*t up about her and Little Boys, Little Girls, and that one Summer, as a Girl, that she spent on that Horse Ranch.

I miss the Country that I was born in.

There is no way this ends well.

And, I don't mean this Petraeus thing.

Albert Constantine Jr.| 11.16.12 @ 7:41AM

One of the things I haven't seen anywhere else, or thought of myself until I read Mr. Flynn's article, is what Mrs. Broadwell has in common with famed astronaut Lisa Novak (USNA 1985). While the latter will be remembered as the stalker with the diaper, perhaps the two should get together and compare notes.

By the way, fresh entries await for today's contest.

TLP| 11.16.12 @ 8:57AM

Wasn't 1985 The Year of the Slut?

I need to check one of those Chinese Restaurant Paper Placemats.

Petraeus may have admitted bumping and grinding, but he lied to Congress about the Internet Video and is back today most likely to lie again.
If you participate in a cover-up to protect the President from leaving 32 Americans behind to die, perhaps running a black ops secret prison camp and allegedly running guns to Al Qaeda in Syria; telling the truth about a little carnal sporting doesn't make one a decent human being, no less a honorable hero.
If Panetta and Petraeus both lie to the Congress, this will be a historic day in America. Or what used to be a Republic.

TLP| 11.16.12 @ 8:55AM

I agree with everything you just said, right up until the end.

Obama, Panetta, Clinton, Carney, Rice and on and on and on, LIED about Benghazi?

They're LEFTISTS, in the Most Leftist Regime on this side of the World, since Castro's Cuba.

Everything they say, every minute of every Day of every Week of every Month of every Year of their Adult Lives, is a Lie.

So, I probably wouldn't go in for the whole "Historic" part.

It's to be Expected, if you ask me.

And, you are correct in your observation that we are No Longer a Republic, as all of the dire predictions of the Past, have come true.

I always knew that this Fall of the Roman Empire Part Deuxe, was inevitable. It's just that (in Honour of Today's Contest) like Mathew Broderick's character in the Movie: War Games, who gets asked by Alley Sheedy why he never learned how to swim?

I always thought we had more time, before this Great Country SH*T THE BED.

JP| 11.16.12 @ 9:01AM

That is what most people seem to be missing. Petraeus more than likely lied to Congress. Additionally, during the evening of 9/11/12, Panetta, Biden, Dempsey and Obama had a scheduled meeting. Most reporters assumed the crisi in Benghazi trumped all other matters. Others assume that the 4 went to the Situation Room where they watched the cruel events unfold. At that point, some have surmised that Obama left the Situation Room and told his underlings to take care of it. Other question remain whether Petraeus and Hillary were involved at that point. By 0900PM EST it was all over. By 0500AM the Oval Office had their story ready (a riot inspired by the You Tube Tapes).

The reporters intentionally are missing the elephant in the room - either Obama had a front and center row seat to the butchery in Benghazi (and therefore refused to aid them), or he has absolutely no control over his administration.

This sad saga of adultery is just part and parcel of a larger crime (as far as I know it is illegal to run guns to Al Qaida. Abandoning your ambassador if not a crime, is impeachable).

Von Mises Jr| 11.16.12 @ 9:23AM

Try to find stories about Ken Salazar and Carol Browner falsifying the Gulf Oil Drilling Report and you would think it never happened. Bob Bae was one of the scientists whom now one can’t find information.

Orwell in "1984" featured Winston Smith whose job at the “Ministry ofTruth” was to send conflicting history from that day's party line down the “memory hole.”
In a year, the only reference to be found on Benghazi will seem like it was Petraeus who was to blame since he was poking the hottie while his people died.

JP| 11.16.12 @ 12:01PM

From what has been leaked from the Feinstein hearings, Petraeous back pedaled on his earlier testimony considering the You Tube Tapes. It appears there is enough documentation available to lawmakers to call him out. I for one would not be surprised the Senate appoints a Special Prosecutor. However, much depends upon Harry Reid and Obama. If the retired General is prosecuted, the entire mess will come out one way or another. Obama of course will be exposed. The House could do the same thing. Only Peter King is saying very much from the House.

The last thing Obama wants is for Benghazi to occupy the news wires and air waves. And now with Isreal being rocketed by Hamas, Obama is finally facing the realities of what he has done or failed to do. If Petraeous is not prosecuted than a real cover-up is under way.

One last thing, Obama cannot afford to piss-off McCain or Graham. These 2 guys (along with the retiring Senator Lugar), are the only real friends Obama has in the GOP Senate Caucus. Calling McCain and Graham out concerning Ambassador Rice was a rare unforced error Obama has made. He may soon regret it.

Von Mises Jr| 11.17.12 @ 7:19AM

Even a cynic such as me is sometimes amazed. Petraeus said it was the video on September 14th. Now he says it was a terrorist attack. But he has the audacity to say that he said the opposite two months ago.
If you watch, this is what Obama and his leftist propagandist have done for four years. I should not have been fooled.
Obama said it was an internet video for the MSM and stupid people. They will not hear the truth. Then he says it was a terrorist attack for the alert and intelligent. Either way, he has talking points that can be validated.
I do not have much faith in Gramnesty or McLame. I have more faith in Jindal, Perry, Scott, Haley and some other truly conservative Red State Governors and many of the good people from flyover country. I suspect that they will resist having inner-city scum steal their property through blatant votes for redistribution of their wealth to those that want EBT cards and other forms of welfare.

Oldefarte| 11.16.12 @ 12:17PM

Wait a minute, TLP, a hundred dollar bill drug through a trailer park? Either extreme inflation has hit you initially or these trailer park HOS have raised their prices [you must be referring to those trailer park developments in the Hamptons or in Pilosi's neighborhood]! I thought it was a twenty dollar bill that sufficed???????

TLP| 11.16.12 @ 3:47PM

Everything costs more, now.

You need Gasoline to get to the Trailer Park, after all.

Oldefarte| 11.16.12 @ 4:42PM

Unless of course you have a double-wide inside the park and can simply stand outside in your jockeys, put two fingers in your mouth [first have to remove the wad of chew, though] and blow a whistle, whereupon all the neighborhood Daisey Mae's will come a runnin, with their youngens right behind!!!!!

Matthew Quigley| 11.16.12 @ 7:49AM

More academy clowns...sheesh.

Burnside, Custer, Westmoreland and now these two losers. Talk about a return on investment. For every Lee, Grant and Patton West Point turns out, we get twenty or thirty losers like these over-promoted second lieutenants or that putz who commanded Americal at the time of My Lai and was covered by the WPPA. Political schmucks. For every Nimitz and Halsey that Annapolis gives us, we get God-only-knows how many John McCains...and my own service has its "Blue Zoo," the breeding ground of entitled and protected excuses for commissioned officers who believe the UCMJ doesn't apply to them, are let slide when caught cheating and plagiarizing, and that enlisted men were placed in the Air Force simply to be their go-fers. Petraeus and Broadwell are just further examples of the dysfunction of the Academy system.

Oh, for a good Ohio State grad like Curtis LeMay...

Occam's Tool| 11.18.12 @ 8:43PM

Matthew: you know, I read the biography of LeMay by Kozak, and I have "Missions with LeMay," at home. The man didn't have a racist or antisemitic bone in his body (yeah, I know he was Wallace's VEEP candidate, but that did NOT represent his views on skin color). He only looked at and for competence in his men. He loved his country and fought for it with quite possibly the most brilliant tactics AND strategical view of WWII.

I really, really admire the man. Better than "Bomber" Harris because he was always fixated on Victory not preconceived ideas of how to obtain it. Minimized causalties for his men and maximized them for the enemy...the inventor of the "box" tactic in the ETO AND low level incendiary bombing in the Pacific Theatre, who then went on to design SAC in his image.

Craigpurcell| 11.16.12 @ 7:52AM

Ike's, FDR's, MacArthur's not to mention, LBJ, JFK, etc.'s many liaisons were not any cause for concern by anyone other than bored busy-bodies and snoops. America always had bigger fish to fry. Now with more women than men having drivers licenses (this really shocked me), the irrelevance of brawny manufacturing and construction jobs, the fact that a General can have more fruit salad on his chest than Patton without ever firing a shot in anger.....all points to the end of life as it was for 10,000 years.

Slacker| 11.16.12 @ 2:42PM

The odd thing is the feminization of American is killing femininity. This freak woman is basically a man. West Point, army colonel, marathons, and pushups…what could be less feminine?

JimP| 11.16.12 @ 2:48PM

Fruit Salad inflation has become worse than a disgrace, it's an embarrassment. Your factual point about Petraeus having more awards than Patton is extremely well taken. They get medals for pushing paper at the Pentagon in the modern era. They all look like flag officers from any two bit South American dictatorship. It's a national embarassment.

What makes it even worse is this tawdry affair with the overly competitive, feminist, stereotypical careerist groupie, psycho chick from hell West Point graduate tramp. Petraeus has disgraced himself in his testimony about Benghazi previously and today. This woman is beyond belief when it comes to being a disgrace. She obviously knows no shame. I can't come up with words to adequately describe what a low life she is. Let me add, I'm letting Petraeus off the hook either, but she obviously pursued him. Not the other way around.

They both should skulk away in shame and see to it that they never again publicly impose their presence on the U.S. Just go away, both of you. Ugh. White trash.

JimP| 11.16.12 @ 2:49PM

Correction: "I'm NOT letting Petraeus off the hook either", is what I meant to say.

Nancy in NC| 11.16.12 @ 8:08AM

Is Europe making fun of us again as they did in the 90s with the Clinton/Lewinsky affair? Since we're hell bent on joining them economically we should be ready to accept this kind of sleaziness as just another day at the ranch.

We don't even pretend to be a decent people anymore. The culture has plunged so low no one is even shocked that a four star general with such high regard is just as vile as the moron shows on the tube 24/7.

The only "good" thing is now Benghazi hasn't disappeared over the horizon as obama wished. Bet he's mad as hell at Petraeus for bringing this back to the top of the dung heap.

Why is MSM making such a big deal? Yes, it's immoral and it's wrong. Other generals have had a side show, so why all the whining by our above board reporters (sarcasim). Bottom line it's to keep our eyes on what is really going on in the District of Crimminals. Running arms to the enemy, the UN small arms treaty (which will be a windfall for the liberals), over the fiscal edge (another tax and spend boondoggle), and so on. He turned in his resignation during a time when Monica served as a humidor, when one of the most conservative senators of the nation, Thurmon, had his little trist, when another senator served up his DC home as a homosexual brothel. Did these men resign? That's why it is suggested that there are other fish to fry.

These reporters, and their DC cohorts, would choke on a knat, and swallow a camel. The truth is out there, but we may never see it unless we keep digging.

The Bruce| 11.16.12 @ 3:25PM

The MSM is making a big deal for a few reasons:

1) I distracts from Obama
2) Petraeus is perceived to be a Republican
3) There's sex involved

fmm| 11.16.12 @ 9:28AM

A sad sad commentary on the condition of the human race.

Simon Templar| 11.16.12 @ 10:18AM

This is not about a general. This is not about his sex life or his adultery. This is not about what the Fraud knew and when. Keep the distractions up and the lost focus and you will surely be the Stupid Party forever.

This is about 4 murdered Americans, a decision not to help them, and a coverup of what happened there and something else that was going on that had to be concealed as it was politically fatal to his reelection. Keep your eye on the ball.

Albertus Magnus| 11.16.12 @ 12:22PM

Exactly. People are falling for the diversion, like David Copperfield's audience. This is a smokescreen to take attention away from the real issue of 4 dead people and Obama Administration incompetence. Eventually the story will get out, but only in pieces as people tire of the whole mess. Ultimately, these deaths will be one big bore for the TV people who idolize Obama and his dolt administration.

It is tempting to say Axelrod is manipulating the Media by masterminding this whole smokescreen, but that would be an exaggeration. Axelrod is merely the offensive coordinator, while the Dolt Administration and the Media are a unified team.

The Democrats did this before. While the Senate obsessed with Watergate, millions of people were being murdered in Viet Nam and Cambodia, and the Democrats did not want that in the headlines. There is not one honest Democrat politician or bureaucrat in Washington, not one. And precious few Republicans. Instead of seceding from the Union, perhaps we could expel the District of Columbia.

Oldefarte| 11.16.12 @ 4:46PM

ST: Absolutely, but even more important, the WHY/WHAT of same [and I've got a pretty damned good guess as to the answer]!!!!!!!!

Oldefarte| 11.16.12 @ 10:44AM

Why was these generals etc brainwashed etc? Easy, because they're STUPID! The typical male uses weapons, fists etc to seduce/destroy their opponents [sometimes of the opposite sex], whereas the typical famale uses her femine charms to weaken her opponent before sucker-punching them into submission. They will smile at you the whole time they are feeding poison to you etc. Their usual displays of anger are reserved initially/originally for their members of their same sex, ie cat fights, ie Broadwell vs. Kelley. As stated usually any male in power is suseptable to this smiling-while-gutting treatment. It's called THE BATTLE OF THE SEXES. Beware guys of the BLACK WIDOW!!!!

cicero| 11.16.12 @ 11:14AM

Simon, you just took my comment. You are absolutely correct. If the president happened to be a Republican, the press would be all over the real story. Since he isn't, they are focusing on this silly side show so no one looks at the real fiasco. 4 Americans are killed, when there was more than enough time to send in the cavalry. My info (from a retired Navy Lt.Cmdr) is that missions were readied, but told to stand down. It may have been more that just a failure to act. It sounds like a conscdious decision to call off the rescue. It seems that a Genl. Hamm in Italy ordered the rescue from Sigorelli, and when he refused to stand down, he was relieved of duty, and the mission was aborted. It also seems that there was a Marine detachment ready to go from Tripoli that was also told to stand down. That fire fight went on for between 7 and 8 hours before our guys were finally killed. That is the real story. Who in the hell cares who stuck what where? It is all a side show. Shame on the press - again.

CJW| 11.16.12 @ 11:29AM

Will Panetta and Petraus lie? We know Hillary will lie if to protect herself but she may not lie to save Obama.

Albertus Magnus| 11.16.12 @ 12:30PM

I think she will lie. Ms. Rodham drank the socialist kool-aid long ago. She will lie and lie and lie, just as she has done her entire adult life. And again, there will be no consequences. She will be protected, like a Roman Senator "exiled" to Capua.

WaffenSS| 11.18.12 @ 5:26AM

Bush drank the kool-aid long ago as well. Along with Rice. Rumsfeld, Chenney, Ashcroft, Rove. Need to go on? I's not about Parties, it's them against us. That's it.

Rhoetus| 11.17.12 @ 12:40AM

Stick a fork in Hillary, she's done. LOL

Stormzeye| 11.17.12 @ 4:34PM

Yeah, right......I thought Obozo was done too about two weeks ago!

Oldefarte| 11.16.12 @ 4:51PM

Again I agree 100%, but the why/what of this is equally important. This was not a simple case of an embassy being attacked. If menmory serves, the main embassay was in Tripoli. What did this attack at this location represent? Is F&F somehow tied into same? What about the Muslim fighters in Syria calling for recognition and for countries to supply them with armaments??????

Teuflhund| 11.16.12 @ 12:34PM

Yeah, the media love sex more than substance. Substance and integrity could have saved those folks in Benghazi. The lack of integrity is not news to a liberal media (unless the lack is Republican). Sex may bring out the truth and hang a scarlet letter on the person giving the "stand down" order.

crbnftprnt| 11.16.12 @ 6:18PM

In Bob Tyrrell's Thursday column he refers to Paula Broadwell performing "partial" push-ups. This would be an accurate description of the modified version of the push-up which allows women to pass the physical tests for police, fire-fighters and soldiers. Yet in your article you say that Paula performed "60 perfect push-ups" on the Jon Stewart show. Though I did not see the show, I would wager a valuable body part that her "perfect" push-ups were not the real (that is, male) version of the exercise.

bluecollarbytes| 11.16.12 @ 11:39PM

Hillary enlisted PopMedia to transform perjury into a sex story. Something similar is going on here although media doesn't need to be encouraged.

Moe Berg| 11.17.12 @ 1:47AM

Harry Truman, even for a Democrat, is way too square for these hipsters in uniform and in "the administration" (administration of WHAT?!). Mr. Truman said that the "ruination of a man" was brought about by "money, power and getting mixed up with a bunch of whores." His exact words, as told to Merle Miller, biographer.

Suzyqpie| 11.17.12 @ 7:25AM

The American taxpayer spent thousands to train Ms Broadwell at West Point. And this is the warrior, defender of America that we got. Check out that picture again, keeping in mind, a West Pt trained warrior. This is folly.

Mark Alesse| 11.19.12 @ 4:29PM

So, a smoking hot athletic woman 20 years your junior comes on to you and because you are a General and an Ivy Leaguer and a Spook, you're supposed to say, "no thanks, miss?" Really? Don't hold me to that standard.
