Without doubt, Barack Obama has pulled off a brilliant victory
and even those who dislike him cannot fail to acknowledge it. True,
it wasn’t a landslide: in fact, he is the first president to be
re-elected with a reduced majority (52.9% and 9.5 million votes
more than John McCain in 2008; 50.3% and 3 million more votes than
Romney today). But a clear — indeed, given the facts, a stunning
— Obama victory it remains.
In 2008, Obama had called George W. Bush “unpatriotic” for
harvesting a $4 trillion federal deficit in 8 years. What word,
then, to apply to a president who has
inflated it by nearly $6 trillion in half the time? Add to that
some grim facts:
- The national debt now exceeds the entire annual output of the
U.S. economy.
- Unemployment is higher today (7.9%) than when he took office
(7.8%), remaining on his watch at over 8% for a post-war record of
43 consecutive months and even today above a 7% threshold with
which no post-war president — until this election— had ever
achieved re-election.
- An unpopular signature legislative package: Obamacare,
opposed as recently as June by 56% of Americans.
- High gas prices,
higher on average than under George W. Bush and more than
double since Obama took office.
- An unprecedented U.S. credit rating downgrade by Standard &
Poor’s and Egan-Jones from AAA to AA+ (August 2011) and by
Egan-Jones to AA (April 2012) and to AA- (September 2012).
- An American public which
believes 52% to 46% that the country is headed in the wrong
direction.
Why was a record of economic blight and general discontent
insufficient to unseat Obama?
Obama ran a highly negative campaign, correctly deducing that he
could maintain his coalition of constituencies even as he alienated
nearly half the country with his resort to class warfare. In this
he was aided by Romney’s tactical mistakes and an Obama-compliant
media.
Romney, depicted relentlessly by the Obama campaign as an
out-of-touch, stone-hearted, job-exporting Bourbon and robber baron
(who has actually given vast sums to
charitable causes, including the
fortune he inherited), made the tactical error of doing little
to counter the fusillade of character assassination during the
vital May-July period. He dealt with confidence-eroding allegations
about his time at Bain Capital in a dilatory fashion. Achieving a
stellar first presidential debate performance, he failed to press
his advantage in the two subsequent debates.
Obama also calculated extremely well how to leverage the
American demographic shift of recent years. He was able to keep the
constituencies he attracted in 2008 with promises and hand-outs.
Offensive utterances on rape by Republicans Senate candidates
Richard Mourdock and Todd Akin eroded the female vote for Romney.
And, perhaps most importantly, Romney faltered not only tactically
but strategically when it came to the fast growing Latino
vote.
Romney failed to endorse existing Republican proposals —
Rick Perry’s or
Marco Rubio’s version of the Dream Act, permitting foreign-born
children of illegal immigrants to achieve rights and legality —
which could have commanded greater Latino support, not least in the
swing-states of Colorado, Florida, Nevada and Ohio. Instead, Obama
swept the Latino vote in these states by 74%, 60%, 80% and 82%
respectively. This meant that Romney won only 27% of the Latino
vote — a drop from John McCain’s lamentable figure of 31% in 2008
and miles short from George W. Bush’s 44% in 2004.
Then there are the intangibles. American publics like to
re-elect their presidents. Nine incumbents in the last century who
sought a fresh term — Calvin Coolidge, Franklin Roosevelt, Harry
Truman, Dwight Eisenhower, Lyndon Johnson, Richard Nixon, Ronald
Reagan, Bill Clinton and George W. Bush — got one. Only five did
not: William Howard Taft in 1912, Herbert Hoover in 1932, Gerald
Ford in 1976, Jimmy Carter in 1980 and George H.W. Bush in 1992.
All but Taft lost largely because of economic woes on their
respective watches.
Obama avoided this fate by plausibly passing off the chronic
sluggishness of the economy to George W. Bush, while taking credit
for the auto bailout (unlike other stimulus measures, largely
popular,
according to the Pew Research Center) that was actually
initiated by Bush and which in fact may have done little short-term
good and much
long-term harm. Obama also adroitly postponed implementation
until 2013 of his most painful and costly measures, like Obamacare
and the termination of the revenue-producing
Bush tax cuts. This permitted both measures to appear at once
positive and abstract — a cause for debate perhaps, but scarcely
for resentment on account of hardship.
Obama will undoubtedly see re-election as a mandate to implement
his program. But if the people’s vote is the criterion, then the
picture is ambiguous: as the Chicago Tribune, which
endorsed Obama in 2008 and again this year,
observes, “The same voters who gave Obama four more years in
office also elected a divided Congress, sticking with the dynamic
that has made it so hard for the president to advance his agenda.
Democrats retained control of the Senate; Republicans kept their
House majority.”
But expect Obama to persist on his own track, whatever the calls
for bipartisanship. Obama entered the scene in 2008 with talk of
hope and change, “change you can believe in.” Many conservatives
thought this vacuous, but they were mistaken. Obama meant what he
said. It would be highly unusual if he differed from most
presidents in aspiring to two, game-changing terms.
Obama
said in 2010 that “I’d rather be a really good one-term
president than a mediocre two-term president.” But now he has
secured his second term and, in retrospect, few — perhaps only
actor Matt
Damon — thought one term “with balls” was preferable. Obama
seems to have reasoned with a subtlety and patience that eluded Mr.
Damon that two terms were preferable, indeed vital: better to lay
the groundwork in his first and follow through in his second with
all that is sweeping and expensive when he is beyond electoral
recall.
For all this, Obama’s record made his re-election a tall order.
His campaign seems to have exhibited genius in getting his
supporters to vote where it mattered most. And his triumph is even
greater when one recalls the slump from his Pied Piper popularity
in 2008, one that even this election confirmed: in 2008, Obama won
69,456,897 votes to McCain’s 59,934,81. This time, in a country
that has grown by about eight million people since Obama assumed
office, he won eight million fewer votes: only 61,112,143
to Romney’s 58,122,514.
Obama managed to dramatically minimize — and Republicans failed
to capitalize on — his failures and the lack of enthusiasm they
engendered. Republicans made tactical and strategic mistakes and
failed to convert lack of enthusiasm for Obama into enthusiasm for
their own candidate, something which should have been there for the
taking. All in all, a brilliant victory for Obama.

Obama won because America has walked away from GOD. Yesterday when I went to Mass (Catholic), I saw a couple of Obama/Biden bumper stickers. I literally walked into Church, thinking "we are doomed for these people who "practice their faith" voted for an administration set out to destroy it". Makes absolutely no sense to me and that's the most discouraging part - no common sense.

I believe he stole many votes, but Romney should have won by such a wide margin that stealing that many votes would have been untenable.
Obama did not win because he is brilliant. He won because the electorate has become willfully stupid by embracing an utterly false consciousness. I guess you can put it all under the catch-all "turning away from God;" I think, specifically, however, you have to look at what that means. The liberal credo:
Greed is good if you don't make money in the first place;
You can't hate "victim groups," but you can hate white males and anyone who adds value (which translates into wealth) to our country (i.e., bigotry is good as long as you're bigoted against the "right people.");
As long as you pay lip service to "social justice" and "diversity," you are free to be selfish, promiscuous, avaricious, envious, vengeful, spiteful, narcissistic, shallow, lazy and puerile, and all of your like-minded friends – and society at large – will hold you in the highest esteem.
You can obtain moral virtue simply by advocating that one group of people you don't know give its money to another group of people you don't know;
Grzmlyk| 11.12.12 @ 11:07AM
(cont'd)
You can lie in the service of "greater truth," steal in the name of "greater justice," destroy in the name of "greater society," kill in the name of "greater good," oppress in the name of "greater justice," and ignore individual responsibility in the name of "greater welfare."
You can create Utopia by putting a gun to people's heads and forcing them to conform to your idea of "compassion."
You are OWED the lifestyle you want, the material stuff you desire, the sex you crave, the sloth you pursue - all paid for by someone else - by virtue of your birth.
If you believe in this credo, Voila - you are going to secular heaven; you are one of the GOOD, one of the beautiful people.

This was not a brilliant anything. Obama got 8 Million fewer votes this year than 2008. Either there was massive vote fraud in 2008, because it is difficult to believe 8 MILLION Obama voters would not show up in 2012, or 8 MILLION Obamadolts from 2008 lost interest and did not want to re-elect Obama. Hard to believe.
Obama won simply because he carried Florida, Ohio, Virginia, Colorado, and Nevada. The margins were only around 60,000 to 100,000. If Romney carried Florida, Ohio, Virginia, and either Colorado or Nevada he would have won.
In hindsight, Rubio would have helped in Florida, Colorada, Nevada, and probably Ohio.
Romney got over 2 Million fewer votes than McCain, and Gary Johnson and Virgil Goode, the third party jokers got a combined One million.
The exit polls showed Romney did well with independents, while Obama got 95% of the black vote, 70% of the Hispanic vote, 70% of the muslim vote, and a majority of the single women and Jewish vote.
So which group(s) stayed home or voted third party and elected Obama?
Since 1980 the Reps have won the White House 20 years, and the Dems, counting Obama to 2016, 16 years. Reps have controlled the House since 1994, and have 30 of the governors. Clinton won with only 44% due to Perot.
Obama has benefited from the MSM as his press agents, liberal white guilt, and the divisions among "Reps" who would not support McCain and Romney.

What I do know is we've crossed a threshold. This is the first time in my life, and probably since FDR, that a democratic presidential candidate can appeal exclusively to his/her extreme base AND WIN!!!
This class warfare, class envy, group-think, anti-religion rot gut that was his platform depressingly won the day.
Think about it.
Walter Mondale tried and got his ass handed to him!
Michael Dukakis tried and met the same fate!
The other extreme liberals ran as moderates (Gore, Kerry, Obama '08) because that was their only path to victory.
Obama in '12 pulled off what was before November 6th, 2012 thought to be impossible: Winning on a hardcore left wing platform.

Not quite the same. In those cases, majority black countries got majority black rule, which they should have had, but they got it without any constraints on the machinery of government, thus a demagogue got elected, and things went to hell in a handbasket. One could argue that South Africa is not totally there yet, but Zimbabwe is living hell for everyone except for a very small elite.
Here, we have been a racial and cultural melting pot, but the machinery of government seems to have been hijacked by a grievance monger, who is determined to pursue banana republic policies, on behalf of "his" people ( as Holder referred to them).
The genius of this country is that it is designed to have a restrained government and equality (of opportunity) for all men. The shame is that it is being destroyed by a factional rewards system which will collapse the economy, sooner or later, leaving no-one with the means to create business and employment for anybody.
We must educate people and tip the senate before it is too late. 2016 may be too late.

Exactly Bob. Ann Coulter is trying to downplay this as a case of incumbency strength (and she's right to a point) but the fact remains that if Obama couldn't be unseated after this horrible presidency, then it's likely his successor will win and THAT candidate will then get re-elected. That's another 12 years at least and with a few more SC nominations, that's the end of the Holy Constitution! (Not that it has any life left. Justice Roberts says if you can tax it, then congress is in control of it.)
The Republican party either dies a slow death winning a few senatorial and congressional elections here and there while its elite hangs onto their entitlements at Martha's Vineyard and country club or they act to protect their electorate and delegitimize race and gender based Democrat entitlements. The world has changed, get over it.
60 Minutes ran a piece last night about the training gap and the cost of globalization.
Companies used to train their people and provide them a career path for life. That was the compact they entered in return for managing costs and staying faithful to the aims of the corporation. I remember someone saying "corporations are people, my friend!"
With successive free trade deals signed with endorsement of the US Chamber of Commerce, the obcene disconnect between executive pay and rank and file pay, and the obvious abandonment of traditonal management functions of development, training and motivation, the populace is unsurprisingly not buying the corporate line any longer.
When you look at Bain capital and other vampire investors, what has been the net benefit to society? Near zero, as confirmed by facts and the election.

Randian fetishists have always tried to play that card and then danced with Arabs, Russkies and even the Chinese Reds, only to come running home again when the heat got too high.
My bet is most companies are so slimly margined that even a modest attempt to "go galt" will be met with populist wrath within days.

Forgive me, but I think that admiring this people and calling them "brilliant" is a mistake. They will do whatever they have to do to win. To them, the end does justifies the means. They have no problem lying, promising what they have no intention to deliver, cheating, destroying reputations of decent people...you name it. As long as they win, it is justified.
A big part of their victory is owed to them inciting racial divisions and class warfare - hardly something to admire. I am sure that many people voted for Obama just because they hate republicans too much to be bothered with high unemployment, national debt, and the killing of a few embassy guys in Libya. It has taken Progressives many years to build this hate they are exploiting now.
We Conservatives tend to be firm in our traditional values of honor and respect. There are lines we are not willing to cross to win an election. The Obama gang know it, and take good advantage of it; and if we have made any mistake, it's not to acknowledge this.
Nancy in NC| 11.12.12 @ 8:33AM
I haven't read anywhere about voter malfeasance, and even though Obama lost in NC...the only state in the union to go from blue to red...there were plenty of shenanigans here.
It started with registration drives. People registered (stupidly in my opinion) in front of WalMart and then wondered why their application never made it to the Board of Elections. I'm sure it was a coincidence they registered as a Republican. Numbers of voters thought they were registered by the Dept. of Motor Vehicles, but were not.
A federally funded group, Disability Rights NC, registered patients at a local mental hospital, and then "assisted" them in filling out their absentee ballots. The group did the same at the two other state mental hospitals.
NC does not have a photo ID law for voting.
Folks from the nursing homes were bused in , and many of them were mentally incompetent, even to the point of not being able to state their name. In a local precinct young people wearing helmets were observed at curbside voting.
Does anyone think that eastern NC is the only place where this kind of voter malfeasance occurred?

I was thinking the same thing except that the left does not want Boehner to cave. They need for the Republicans to fight the agenda. As it continues to crash around them, they need to have the ability to trumpet to the dumbed down masses that it would have worked if it weren't for the opposition. Look at the ACA. The only obstruction caused was by the left. They wanted more and more and had to negotiate with their own party. Didn't make a difference as they still say everything wrong with the law was a compromise with the Republicans who wouldn't give them what they wanted. Pelosi could have defunded the Iraq war in 2007, however, it was politically beneficial to keep blaming Bush. Keep looking closer, the left only speaks to the ignorant about how things would be so much better if they could only get their way. When they get their way and it all blows up, they still blame the right. Secession is the only thing left in the quiver at this point.

Mike Rogers | 11.12.12 @ 9:13AM
But stop and consider for a moment: "His campaign seems to have exhibited genius in getting his supporters to vote where it mattered most".
Indeed it did, and the evidence suggests that those supporters were, at best, barely eligible to vote 'where it mattered most'. Huge numbers of students registered and voted same day, in states where they were at school, rather than at home. In general terms, we've been dealing with this for a long time, but the specifics were different this time.
In at least one state, students were bused in from out of state, taking advantage of lax domicile regulations, BUT, they did not just vote in university towns, they spread out and "voted where it mattered". Not only were statewide elections tipped, but many marginal seats in the state legislatures were also tipped.
Recall analyses that found a total of less than 500,000 votes in the right places would have given victory to Romney, and then note that one small swing state had a 100,000+ surge in registrations on election day, and brilliance starts to look more than brilliant, but less than ethical.
Media? Anybody? Chirp, chirp?
Albertus Magnus| 11.12.12 @ 9:15AM
I'm sorry, but Bozo the Klown did not "pull off" anything, "brilliant" or otherwise. Like Bill Clinton before him, President Bozo was CARRIED to electoral victory. He did NOT earn it. He was carried by ABC, CBS, NBC, and CNN. These organizations gave Bozo free, unlimited propaganda, an advertising campaign that Bozo could never have purchased himself. If this country actually had a reasonably honest "fourth estate" Bozo would have lost in a landslide. As long as one can lie incessantly without any fear of contradiction whatsoever, winning an election is comparatively easy. There is absolutely nothing "brilliant" about President Bozo or his campaign.

"Rick Perry's or Marco Rubio's version of the Dream Act, permitting foreign-born children of illegal immigrants to achieve rights and legality -- which could have commanded greater Latino support, not least in the swing-states of Colorado, Florida, Nevada and Ohio."
Wrong lesson to learn! I seem to recall that McCain met with LaRaza (The Race) and was a big amnesty supporter. Bottom line: "Binders" full of women and non-whites promised special racist and sexist privileges and entitlements turn out perhaps 1 of these magical voters for every 10 white guys that either stay home from the polls or foolishly vote for Obama as in Ohio and Pennsylvania.
But the author is right: Obama has a great campaign but also knows how to take care of his electorate. He didn't get up and say he would bring back Jim Crow in and effort to appease southern whites (note: that's not to say that Southern Whites are like that, but rather that Obama's supporters have their own version of Jim Crow that the Republicans foolish try to pander to.) It's not wrong to protect the rights and interests of your base. Why is the 1964 civil rights act to protect the rights of blacks something to be proud of but not proposition 209 in California which protected the civil rights of whites and men? Until Republicans stop apologizing for their election, they'll continue to lose it AND elections.
So enjoy the higher tax rates for the wealthy guys!

I chuckle at how the left uses the "no fault of their own" as a successful way to drum up support for the dream act. [violin playing]. It's not those young kids' fault so do you hate kids?
Oh, wait, unless they're young white male firemen trying to get equal rights to pass a promotional exam. Then the "Wise Latina" says they're guilty for the crimes of their white ancestors or even whites they aren't related to. See how that works?
And you can betcha that most of these "innocent" kids think the same way and will vote accordingly.
Regarding the merits of citizenship in exchange for voluntary military service. Indeed, I remember when filling out my selective service registration form that MALE resident legal aliens were subject to conscription if congress ever called them up. I think it would be perfectly fair that if young men are asked to die for a country that they get citizenship. Under what other circumstances are young men not "choosing" to serve in the military?

90% of the non-white, female Obama electorate vote for special privileges. I was just thinking that if there was a conservative SNL, they could have had a lot of fun with the debates. Imagine the "equal pay for women" question.
Obama: "I think women don't just deserve equal pay, but to make up for previous discrimination, they should get ALL the money plus traditional men paying for everything."
Romney: "I say that's not far enough Obama! How about all the money plus men still paying for everything and also a bucket full of free contraceptives AND fertility drugs!"
Obama: "That's all still well and good, but what about diamonds? Shouldn't these women all get a bucket of those too? Or do you think women should starve to death because you don't care about them?"
That's the kind of pandering we see from BOTH candidates towards women and non-whites and we wonder why Republicans are losing elections. LEARN PEOPLE, LEARN!

Actually, I think South Park is pretty bi-partisan but they hit the left pretty hard. I loved the way they tore into Barbara Streisand (apparently, she complained that their "spooky vision" episode with Streisand's face in the four corners of the screen violated some copyright and they removed them from later reruns?)
But yeah, you have a point that entertainment in general, plus comedy, is run by leftists. But then again, hasn't SNL because a serious bore of late? And heck, even the Simpsons is getting long in the tooth. Some of that is just age, of course, but it appears that the leftist comedy circuit is as old as those 90's shutdown comedy clubs.

Actually, SNL was at its funniest in the 90s when Miller, Carvey, Phil Hartman, et. al., were tearing up Bill Clinton. It was conservative humor back then.
PolishKnight| 11.12.12 @ 11:06PM
They weren't tearing him up so much as trying to humanize him and make his perjury and scandals into humor. To this day now, people see him as a fun, rallyscamp rogue rather than a rapist, sexual harasser, and reminiscent of Hitler, having his own CHILDHOOD friend shot to death in a park and laid out and then a "suicide" note found later. Oh, and there's Ron Brown, a crude hustler who was about to be indicted and turn Bill in and then his own Air Force II goes down under mysterious circumstances off course (yeah, those radio waves are like that!!!) and then coincidentally, the technical manager of the airport commits "suicide" with a bullet in his chest (ever see Reservoir Dogs and how painful a stomach shot is?)
Yeah, but Bill is now remembered as being a funny scamp. Hahaha! That was part of their act. Apparently, taking down HUNDREDS of innocent people, including a stewardess who died on the helicopter flight to the hospital, just to get Ron Brown. Nice guy, eh?

Valerie Jarrett has been up to her usual backbiting and numbskullduggery. She is quoted by a news source as stating: “After we win this election, it’s our turn. Payback time. Everyone not with us is against us, and they better be ready, because we don’t forget. The ones who helped us will be rewarded; the ones who opposed us will get what they deserve. There is going to be hell to pay. Congress won’t be a problem for us this time. No election to worry about after this is over, and we have two judges ready to go.”
Mrs. Jarrett, it has been your turn for the last four years, and now it's your turn again. She has laid out the "plan" for this four years. Congress has never been a problem when you rule by presidential decree. Treaties are on the table (read Small Arms Treaty) to be approved by Congressional vote or by presidential directive.
Yes, we opposed you and yours, and we're going to pay fourfold. We realized the comeupance, and were willing to go thru with it. The problem with liberalism is as long as it is someone else's money. Guess what? John Galt is as good of a solution as I've heard. What are you going to do? Print more money? Go ahead, Mrs. Jarrett and Mr. President, go for broke. It will be a mess at the end of these four years.
PolishKnight| 11.12.12 @ 10:47AM
This "populist" view goes back to ancient times. Barbarians (before the term was even coined) had a simple rule: You're either with us or against us. If you're against us, we rape and pillage your village and share the spoils with our allies. If you're with us, you get to join in on the raping and pillaging.
As they roamed the countryside, they added a "diverse" set of people's to their membership who loved the leader because he provided them with spoils. This is an ancient formula. The left didn't invent it (heck, the didn't invent anything really. Even their populist "help the poor" mantra is recycled Christianity!)
Here's a fun thought experiment: Imagine... back in the 1940's or so when the left realized that with the USSR as our opponent and not ally, they would need to remake the USA and basically get rid of the local population and remake it with an electorate more pliable to their will. This was all planned back then. If they could have been transported in a time machine to the present day, they would be pleased as peaches. The "reactionary" right was exactly what they wanted: unthinking and slow to react much less act offensively.
Bob K| 11.12.12 @ 12:46PM
That worked then in Europe because everybody was white at that time. Diversity in the Americas was always different.
Old Europeans had no blacks or latino/native american mixes, who by the way, have diversity problems with each other, not to mention their white overclasses. New Europe is now having major diversity problems these days with these peoples.
Diversity never worked here in the Americas and it won't in the future.
PolishKnight| 11.12.12 @ 1:11PM
It's not "working", obviously, but it wins elections because they're united in their entitlements. Senator Pocahantas in Massachusettes got special privileges as a double dipper 1/16 undocumented "native American".
We should all pull a George Soros and change our names and hide our ethnic identity.
Louis Jenkins| 11.12.12 @ 2:27PM
1/16 Native American eh? My spouse is 1/8 Native American and I'm 1/8 as well. Does that give one the right to demand handouts from the government's largess? As far as that goes it shouldn't mean squat. What a man can do he can and should do. To be dependant on the government's handouts is worse than suicide, but then, some people are entirely different. Enough with introspection, time to get busy.
PolishKnight| 11.12.12 @ 2:42PM
The brilliance of the scheme is that it's not a government handout. It's basically a "tax" on white males. The left preaches about "inclusivity" and ending "racism" and then turns around and giggles as they hand out goodies by making white males into second class, excluded citizens.
And the Republicans do NOTHING about this! Astounding. Sure, some SC justices might oppose such preferences most of the time, but the rest of the time, why isn't congress or the senate proposing legislation to ban such racism? Hmmm? Why didn't the Bushes or even REAGAN make a simple executive order to not engage in racial or sexist preferences were not clearly justified even by the 1964 civil rights act discrimination loophole?
So you know, sorry if I don't get all twisted about abortion or gay marriage or such, but our LIVELIHOODS are being threatened. Let's deal with that first then with getting abortion outlawed a few decades from now, ok?

Ignorance is no excuse.
Or, the road to hell is paved with good intentions.
“We don’t need no stinking badges” has been post-modernized and rigorously applied by power mad leftists like Obama into “We don’t need no ID to vote”, and we just saw the results of this latest explosion into anarchy.
Don’t forget the distinction between de facto and de jure. California is a perfect example of how people THINK that hunk of land and the people within it is a part of the US, but in fact as Victor Davis Hanson regularly details, with his personal bad experiences in the Fresno area, most of the “state” has long ago been overrun by illegal Hispanics.
If the GOP actually follows through with the amnesty path, (now backed by Hannity and Krauthammer, for heaven’s sake!), as has been true in the past, the nation will only follow the trend setter, California---and it’s adios the USA.
Maybe, though, there is also an updated (heretofore) SILENT majority of MAKERS, the almost 50% who bothered to LEGALLY vote for Romney. The “I’m mad as hell, and I’m not going to take it anymore” crowd, who have figured out that the legal system is corrupt, so why not find ways to bypass it?
Perhaps the true leader of the makers is Rush Limbaugh.
Who Knows?| 11.12.12 @ 11:19AM
He gets “elected” everyday, by the marketplace, and I predict his “approval ratings” are about to rocket up, and the Obama minions will be sure to pay him notice, and try to rebut him---for the latter, it’s NOT Boehner and the House of Representatives who are their main problem!
And, FINALLY, everyday man Limbaugh stumbled into the simple truth, and put it in terms no one can misunderstand—liberals are the Santa Claus Party.
The whole immigration brouhaha has NOTHING to do with amnesty! The vast majority of Hispanics vote for the Democrats because they love the government-- they want something from it.
Put yourself in the shoes of an illegal Mexican, say. They KNOW they are poor! So when they succeed in sneaking into America, they are ALL ABOUT getting their share. From whom? And, how?
Of course they must work, but they ALSO come from a place where the government is the “parent”, and so they look to OUR government, through the Democratic Party, for goodies.
If the liberals succeed in bamboozling Republicans in DC, and pass amnesty, that’ll only grow the number of voters who will put even MORE Democrats into power!
Indeed, IMHO, I think it’s already too late.
Who Knows?| 11.12.12 @ 11:19AM
Californian “voters” just agreed to pay more taxes, AND put into power a super majority legislature, to join with Governor Moonbeam. The next few years should be awesome!
Yes---the reelection of Obama is just a step on the way to exactly THAT result, for America as a whole.
Now, if we can only “fix” that pesky House of Representatives, one holdout seat at a time---that’s the true agenda for the American version of the one-party-rule of China.
There are too many fat bodies and fat heads in the silent majority, and just like that scene in “Saving Private Ryan”, when a German soldier gets atop an American, and slowly shoves his bayonet into the heart, saying, “Sehr einfach” (very simple), the viral majority of takers are doing the same to the sick and weak makers NOW, in the USA.
America is (likely) doomed.

Is voter suppression to blame for fewer votes in 2012 than 2008?
PolishKnight| 11.12.12 @ 12:24PM
Indeed. Let's reflect upon the low voter turnout.
For the left, it's understandable: Obama's core race and gender benefits electorate generally turns out no matter what since economic factors are irrelevant to those benefits. However, many of his marxist supporters may have stayed home because they couldn't afford gasoline for their cars. :-) In other words, Obama's gift goodie bag was running low this year, but his key supporters are easy to please.
On the Republican side, the reason why Romney lost is that he didn't have a lot in his goodie bag one way or the other. Many of this economic points were subtle and lost on a Joe and Jane six pack electorate. He hit Obama a little, but not as much as he could have. And in addition, he was still wide open on Bain and outsourcing. And he allowed Obama to trash him on the 47% issue. I personally think he should have elaborated and doubled down. It wasn't that Obama appeals to those who don't pay income tax but rather people used to getting more from government than they put it in and this does NOT include military vets that Biden disingenuously dragged in and Ryan didn't call him on.
And yes, sparks flew during the debates but come now, remember the Reagan era when getting nuked was a possibility? Romney should have really lit a fire and gone after race and gender preferences but instead he actually halfway bought into them.

Or is it just one more excuse to explain why the GOP lost ?
canuckistani| 11.12.12 @ 3:25PM
...no just one excuse to continue throwing money at Rove et al like he was Swaggert after the motel bust.

AmericanPatriot,
I agree, call it "Obama's stolen Win."
“In Florida: Obama Got Over 99% in Broward County Precincts”
“What Luck! Obama Won Dozens of Cleveland Districts with 100% of the Vote”
“Good News: Obama Won County in Ohio with 108% Voter Registration”
“BREAKING: St. Lucie County, Florida Had 141.1% Turnout; Obama Won County”
“Fraud in PA: Obama Got Over 99% of Vote at Polls Where GOP Inspectors Were Removed; Turnout Somehow ’30%’ Above Gov’t Numbers”
“Out of 175,554 registered voters, 247,713 vote cards were cast in St. Lucie County, Florida, on Tuesday”

Nightwinger| 11.13.12 @ 3:06AM
But I'm sure Romney won the Cayman Islands vote.
Riff Raff| 11.14.12 @ 12:47AM
And we KNOW OBozo got the cemetary vote.
Boar Hunter| 11.12.12 @ 4:07PM
Consider if you will that the Libs are already calling for boycotts against those businesses that are either freezing their hiring or reducing employee hours because of Obamacare.
Is it just me or do these retards understand that boycotting businesses struggling financially because of Obamacare may well cause all of the employees of that business to become unemployed?
Do they not understand that "business" needs to make a profit? Romney, Obama, Sponge Bob Square Pant's, it does not matter who the president is, without profit there is no reason for business to exist.
If employees of the businesses cease to exist in sufficient quantity to fund the government through the taxes they both pay, how do these retards think the government is going to keep feeding them?
Funny, maybe the prospect of Soylent Green is not so far fetched.
Bob Grant| 11.12.12 @ 4:18PM
Boar:
That was a perfect example of the utter economic ignorance of the left.
These twits believe those companies are actually punishing employees, and possibly themselves, to "get back at obama" for implementing obamacare.
We can expect in the next few days or weeks Maxine Watters to re-hash her childish "The wealthy are keeping 2 trillion dollars on the sideline to get back at the first black president" screed she gave four years ago.
My suspicion is Maxine Watters and other democratic leaders don't believe this nonsense but their constituents do, and so they use it.
But then again, knowing Maxine Watters, this big dope might actually believe it herself.
Riff Raff| 11.14.12 @ 12:54AM
This thinking presupposes that the Democrats actually want a healthy economy, but are somehow ignorant of how that actually works. Demonstrably, they do not want a healthy economy and know full well what they are doing is destructive (well, most do, OBozo himself is clueless.) Free people with jobs in a healthy economy have no need for Democrats and government handouts (bribes) so Democrats can't buy votes. Democrats NEED the economy to fail and Democrats NEED poor people to buy votes from with other people's money. This game is as old as the hills and people are STILL stupid enough to fall for it. The choice in this election was simple: If you want a JOB, vote Romney. If you want a government CHECK, paid for with taxpayer money, vote OBozo. Yes, it truly is that simple.
Mike in N.C.| 11.12.12 @ 4:56PM
Obama hand you your ass and you and the usual posters at TAS rehearse the same tired, old bullshit. Its okay with me because if you clowns ever get around to doing some serious soul searching and move from the crazy right wing extreme to center right you might actually have a chance to win in 2016.
Frank Drackman| 11.12.12 @ 5:02PM
Umm, not unless Repubiclans do some serious fucking in the next 4 years, and lower the voting age to 1(hey in states with no voter ID, it could work)
Frank
Mike in N.C.| 11.12.12 @ 5:49PM
Too old for this agenda Frank.
Bob Grant| 11.12.12 @ 5:31PM
Geeez,
Your boring generalities are grating. You never give us anything of substance. Just baseless attacks.
I figured the left wingers who hired you to seminar blog would have let you go after the election. No need for the more useless hacks. You know, a little downsizing, removing the waste?
Then again, you're probably government subsidized so you get to grace us with your presence Ad infinitum.
Mike in N.C.| 11.12.12 @ 5:50PM
Still securely in the bubble I see.
Riff Raff| 11.14.12 @ 12:59AM
Since when is rabid communism the "center?" You really are not very bright, are you?
Joe D.| 11.12.12 @ 6:58PM
Wrong again. Latinos (over 50%) don't agree with you on non inforcement of the border and kicking people out. So the dream act is wrong also. Breaking the law is never a good idea. It only promotes more. And we have enough problems with our youth and breaking the law.
Joe D.| 11.12.12 @ 7:07PM
Voter Fraud in Florida, Ohio, Philadelphia is becoming more clear by the day. Even Chavez and the Iranian president did not get 99% of the vote. Come on Cleveland and Philly.
ABIGAIL ADAMS| 11.12.12 @ 7:35PM
Brilliant? Give me a flipping break.
Once again the Affirmative Action President was dragged over the finish line and into the winner's circle because The Man, i.e., Bill Clinton; the White Man's Main Stream Media; the White Man's educational/indoctrination system; the White Man's money and Stupid White Children all banded together to keep that moron in office.
There was nothing brilliant or surprising about this "victory".
Rhoetus| 11.12.12 @ 8:55PM
And Obama is still a communist.
Freedomfighter_99| 11.13.12 @ 11:59PM
Actually, I was surprised. I couldn't imagine an electorate STOOPID enough to ask for four more years of this punishment. Foolish me, huh?
Occam's Tool| 11.12.12 @ 8:10PM
Gold and Silver are going to do very well over the next 4 years. The idiot in the WH can't find his economic behind with a flashlight and a map.
Gonna get me a 700 pound gun safe to put my PF70s gold and silver into, and get some nice Desert Eagles to protect them, and then I'm just gonna hunker down. Take a bunch of staycations for the next four years. The kids have a horse, so they're not going to want to go anywhere for the next few years anyway, especially my oldest. I'm in a rural area2.5 hrs from Grand Forks, ND, my closest "big city."
I'm just hoping we don't get hit with a nuke when the mullahs get their bomb, which they will under Obama.
Riff Raff| 11.14.12 @ 12:56AM
You really shouldn't reveal your location in such detail. I'm sure someone is taking notes.
Rhoetus| 11.12.12 @ 8:53PM
Reagan was the last Republican that played to win.
Riff Raff| 11.14.12 @ 12:43AM
Actually, GHW Bush played to win in 1988. Then in the next 4 years he went all wobbly in the knees and almost didn't even show up for the 1992 campaign against a crook and traitor.
Kingofthenet| 11.12.12 @ 10:20PM
I blame Obama for Romney's loss...
Andrew P111| 11.12.12 @ 11:25PM
I blame the stupid Republican primary voters who nominated a loser like Romney simply because they were impressed with his money....and yes, I blame Drudge for putting the thumb on the scale in favor of Romney during the primaries.
Nightwinger| 11.13.12 @ 3:18AM
Um.....yeah. Maybe nominating a country-club plutocrat with an off-shore money stash and suspiciously hidden tax returns was not the best choice for the 'likeability" factor in an election during hard times.
Riff Raff| 11.14.12 @ 12:39AM
I know OBozo plays a LOT of golf, but I didn't know he belonged to a Country Club. Who pays for THAT?! I DO know that OBozo the plutocrat has gotten VERY RICH from Government, i.e. the TAXPAYERS. But then with no marketable skill or education, how else can he get rich? Besides, using taxpayer money for oneself is the Democrat way! Plus, OBozo really has no "likeability" at all, during hard times or any other time. It's really too bad he won/stole this election. OBozo is clearly not up to the job, or any actual JOB for that matter. Pity. I'm sure his mommy had high hopes.
kbs55| 11.13.12 @ 2:57PM
Obama did not win, but he stole it from a bunch of cowards.
Freedomfighter_99| 11.13.12 @ 11:56PM
I'm not buying the "open borders costing Romney the election" argument. Rush Limbaugh had it right - you can't beat Baracka Claus when he's made it known he's going to give out free stuff to any minority who wants it. Reagan signed an amnesty deal back in'86 and the Repubs got fewer Hispanic votes in the next Pres. election. It wasn't the amnesty - voting Hispanics don't need no stinkin' amnesty. What they DO need is free stuff. Mine & yours. And Obama promised to give it to them.
