Obama’s Real Second Term Plan

You won’t recognize this country after his second term — the obvious reason he’s not telling you what he has in mind for it.

Mitt Romney said it best in the last debate when he informed the President that, “attacking me isn’t an agenda,” which prompted the Obama campaign to immediately release what they call a plan for the second term. This 20-page repackaging of speeches notwithstanding, President Obama remains perhaps the only president in history to run for reelection who not only can’t talk about his record but also can’t discuss his real agenda for a second term.

Now it’s not that he can’t because he doesn’t have any ideas about what he wants to do. He does have big plans, but his vision of the future is profoundly different from that of most Americans. The America that Obama sees when he sits on the Truman Balcony at night and dreams about the next four years is radically altered reality for everyone. It should scare every American — unless you happen to be getting Obama’s free cell phone service.

Obama would like everyone to believe that his second-term policies will address what he sees as the great inequalities and unfairness inherent in the American system. He wants to level the playing field. What he can’t tell you — and what most Americans are realizing — is that leveling out America will reduce freedom, opportunity, income, innovation, and upward mobility in favor of a government-driven economy. With a government-driven society will come statism, and collectivism follows right on the heels of statism, which will destroy America.

Here’s the stark proof, keeping in mind that this is a mere snapshot of the “remaking” Obama has in store that will affect millions of American families and businesses. The President’s proposed budget projects will have federal spending soaring to $5.820 trillion per year, making Obama the biggest government spender in the history of the world. With all the talk from the President about spending cuts to satisfy independent voters, the sum of all of Obama’s spending over the next ten years could total more than $40 trillion that we simply don’t have.

We can’t afford Washington’s spending now. Do we really think only the wealthy will foot the bill for such dramatic increases in government expenditures? The President’s proposals will drive $100 billion in tax hikes next year and more than $2 trillion in tax increases over the next 10 years hitting every American.

With more than 40 million Americans on food stamps, welfare is the fastest-growing portion of the budget under Obama. Food stamp usage is up a staggering 46% and the cost of the program has increased by 72%. Over the next four years, the President is preparing to increase spending on these programs to enable the government to increase benefits and provide for an increasing share of the population.

The slow creep of dependency will see a smaller middle class and a larger dependent class of not just the poor but individuals and families who once could afford to live without the government’s help, but due to inflation, lower wages, fewer jobs, and higher taxes must turn to the government for some form of assistance.

When it comes to crippling regulations to burden private enterprise, the Obama Administration is leading the charge to squash industry in favor of increasing government’s power and reach.

New greenhouse gas regulations will cost $300 to $400 billion per year and increase gas prices. The President’s insane “cow tax” will hit more than 37,000 farms and ranches and 90% of American livestock production. Obama’s attempt to stop hydraulic fracking for natural gas has more than a dozen federal agencies developing new, expensive regulations to prevent energy companies from drilling. His war on the coal industry will continue, costing as much as $110 billion over the next two decades and killing more than 300,000 jobs in Ohio, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Missouri. So much for energy independence, and so much for job creation.

Despite the President’s assurance that costs won’t go up and jobs won’t be lost over Obamacare, the 16,000 IRS workers who will administer the tax provisions of the program will be very busy hitting millions where it hurts. According to the Heritage Foundation, the Congressional Budget Office analysis found that nearly 80 percent of those who’ll face tax penalties would be making between $55,850 and $115,250. They will all see their taxes go up starting next year.

Obama will add a $123 billion surtax on investment income, and new taxes on dividends despite the fact that more than half of all Americans invest in the market in one fashion or another. The $86 billion increase in the Medicare Payroll Tax is also coming down the pike, along with a $60 billion tax increase for health insurance companies.

In another uniquely-Obama effort to allegedly reduce healthcare costs, the President is also going to increase taxes by $32 billion on people who already have comprehensive healthcare coverage — because they have coverage. Of course, people who have coverage now that’s not up to the government’s standards will find their plans eliminated and forced to purchase more expensive coverage. He’s even going to tax medical device manufacturers to the tune of $20 billion because apparently that will help make Americans healthier.

In Obama’s America, religious schools, hospitals and charities will be labeled as non-religious employers specifically because they serve the common good of society. Churches and other faith-based institutions will be forced to provide services and even hire employees based on government mandates rather than their own, deeply-held values and beliefs. If they don’t, Obama’s government will gladly step in with an expensive government backfill for the services.

Here’s the good news — we can prevent Obama’s America from becoming a reality. We can stop statism and collectivism from taking us from “one out of many” to one of the many nations whose governments’ thirst for power and control led to the decline of great societies and nations. The choice is ours November 6, and the results of the election, whichever way they go, will resonate for generations to come.

obama's real second term plan consists of a lot more of the executive orders that negate passed law. His hope is the dems retain the senate, which keeps the house hamstrung, giving him unfettered control to rewrite America outside restrictions from the Constitution. If he wins, history will prove me right. America will be screwed.

It's not just executive orders that work around congress. Regulatory agencies, czars, and other government organizations that make policies themselves already run the country far more than congress does. Democrats live to create more of these.

Mike G| 10.26.12 @ 3:52PM

One of the things Repubs need to do is insist that congress do its job instead of delegating it to all these agencies that make these insane rules. Congress should make the rules and put them into the laws they pass. That would reduce the number of laws passed, and prevent government from growing as fast as it has been.

Obama's platform was announced yesterday after the Des Moines Register dust up. Obama declared that he will let the Bush tax rates expire and welcomes sequestration. Here is what it means to the average American:
• Bush tax rates and brackets sunset, resulting in $4,269 additional Federal Income Tax starting 2013 for a family with Adjusted Gross Income of $70,000. (A rate increase from 10% to 15% is NOT a 5% increase of your taxes. It is a 50% increase.)
• ObamaCare Tax for Employers with over 50 employees is $2,000 per employee if they fail to provide the approved coverage. If your employer drops your coverage and you fail to buy the mandated coverage, you are fined 1% to 2.5% of your income from 2014 to 2016. At $100,000 family income, your employer is fined $4,000 for a husband and wife each earning $50K and the family pays $1,000 escalating to $2,500 for failure to insure by 2016.

Von Mises Jr| 10.26.12 @ 11:32AM

• One-trillion-plus dollar annual deficits will demand that America raise the Debt Ceiling in early 2013. The United States will face another Credit Rating Downgrade. The result will be higher interest payments on the National Debt and a subsequent reduction in services for security, infrastructure and social programs.
• Federal Reserve Policy of Quantitative Easing (QE3) buying $40 billion in Sub-prime mortgages per month will accelerate inflation. Coffee is risen 40%, Celery 28%, Butter 26% and Bacon and Cabbage 23% in recent one-year snapshot. QE3 will accelerate family food prices even faster.
• Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are under-funded. Estimates to bail out these Government Sponsored Entities may reach $363B through the end of 2013. Another Sub-prime crisis will collapse housing prices further, accelerate foreclosures and increase unemployment.
• Sequestration will increase unemployment of military and defense contractors while ignoring the entitlement reform necessary to reduce the growth of the Federal Budget. Unemployment will rise; defense stocks will collapse reducing wealth while our National Security is put at risk.

Excellent analysis. Inflation resulting from QE is the greatest threat to the middle class. I note, as I am sure this audience has noted, there is zero zip nada concern expressed by thee 0bama administration or MSM (I know they are the same thing) about any of the threatening events.

Von Mises Jr| 10.28.12 @ 9:46AM

In a recent poll, about 40% of people cited inflation as the biggest problem. I think it may have been a Frank Luntz poll.
Jobs were second. But if jobs do not produce wealth, they simply increase inflation even more. This is why a dumba$$ like Obama thinks hiring teachers (with huge pensions and Cadillac benefits) is the solution. The solution is drilling for oil, reducing regulation so we have businesses invest in manufacturing and technology, and to stop doing dopey things like burn our corn in our gas tanks.

Louis Jenkins| 10.26.12 @ 8:52AM

Why should we really care? There's people in america who have more than one free phone. I saw on the news there's a woman with four free phones. That's one for each appendage! If Obama is re-elected this person will one day pick up her phone(s), and it will be blank. She'll only be able to call 911.

Place your faith in God, and in your ability to aim. Mr. Ryun, you left out the president's war on guns. That will blow the lid off the pressure cooker.

Not everyone will be hurt by such an agenda. As in all aristocratic societies, those who are in control, and their minions, will be just fine. There was a time when, if you were a Romanoff, or related to one, you had a very lucrative job, allowing you to live well. Later, if you were a Soviet Socialist beaurocrat, you lived very well, shopped in stores that actully had things to buy, and had money to buy it with. That is where we are heading.

The governmental employee roles have been expanding outrageously over the past 4 years. The wages for these people, who are employed doing tasks that nobody would voluntarily pay anyone to do, have exploded. This is where the money is going. Why do you think all these regulations are being written. A patriotic beaurocracy would simply stop the nonsense, but self interest trumps all.

I would only hope that a Romney administration will immediately ask for a forensic audit to find where the 6 trillion went, and prosecute those who have plundered this country. I am afraid, however, that the Reps, once in power, will just march merrily down the road, on the pretext that "they don't want to tear the country apart".

cicero I share your desire for a total audit of the $6T. I would be very surprised if as the 0bama administration & Camarillo depart, that there will be any paper trail at all. The shredders will be running 7/24 between Nov 7, 2012 & Jan 20, 2013. What can not be shredded, will be altered, obscured, disappeared, eliminated, whatever will obliterate the paper trail.

Kwan| 10.26.12 @ 9:13AM

It doesn't take an Oracle of Delphi to predict that 4 more years of this Marxist Saboteur as President, will result in a Greater Depression than the Great Depression. For the first time in our history we have a leader who is actually doing his best to put the country in reverse. For what purpose? The Democrat-Communist Party believes that the more people they can make dependent on government, the more they can increase their political power. Thus we have policies coming out of the White House designed to turn as many middle-class citizens as possible into the dependent underclass, in all-out criminal effort to gain political power. Giving Obama 4 more years will put the United States on the road to becoming fundamentally transformed into a replica of the post-apocalyptic city of Detroit, which has been turned into a basket-case after 50 years of being ruled by Democrat-Communist Party politicians.

Well, if Obozo is going to finish America off once and for all in his 2nd term, he'll need the the help of the great General Colin Powell.
When Supreme Commander of Obozo's Civilian Army, General Powell, comes for us, well, we'll just have to be ready, won't we?
When Powell does come for us, I hope he doesn't quit like he did in Iraq. We want this to truly be the "Mother of All Wars".
Then we'll see which snake truly gets its head cut off.

Alej| 10.26.12 @ 12:37PM

The problem Alej is there just isn't enough bedpans to handle the excretment. Let's just plan on culling the herd back, and allow their worthless carcasses to rot where they fall.

Powell, a General? Not anymore. And to think once upon a time he was considered a prime candidate for President. Dodged the bullet on that one.

Anthony| 10.26.12 @ 1:58PM

Ah yes, the great Colin Powell, the perfect Republican, or so we're told by the media and the left.
I'm wondering if any of the whores in the MSM will ask the great Republican general just who in the R party he would support for president?
In 08, did the great Republican general support an experienced statesman, moderate, consensus seeker, and war hero for president? Nope.
In 2012, is the great Republican general going to support a multi-leveled experienced man,who is articulate, intelligent, and has a vision for America as a candidate? Nope.
Colin Powell is a complete and total fraud. From the Bushes to Scooter Libby, this POS has stepped on every R who has made his affirmative action career the success it was.
I'm looking forward to watching Powell go down with his fellow affirmative action ascendee,The One, The Obozo.

A little over four years ago, Barack Obama outlined his vision for America - including an "department of internal security" funded just as much as the US Department of Defense. That part of the speech wasn't on the written notes circulated to reporters, and debate was strong on why that was - plausible deniability, or poor dumb Barack going off-script again? But Barack Obama would probably love to have a second set of Armed Services accountable only to HIM.

It's got to be uncomfortable for Obama to consider that all the Americans who carry guns as part of their job descriptions swore an oath to a document (the Constitution) that Obama detests and which he told New England Public Radio was "holding us back."

Purp| 10.26.12 @ 8:40PM

YAWN ... be afraid, be very afraid. Getting desperate are we? Mitt the Twit has no clue what he's doing and it's starting to hurt, ain't it ?

Vance P. Frickey| 10.28.12 @ 1:22PM

Purp, wake up. It's October 28th, 2012, Obama's Federal debt is increasing by $4 billion a day, most of it borrowed from OTHER COUNTRIES.

And the Des Moines Register endorsed Romney - the first time they've endorsed a Republican in 40 years. Their reasoning?

"American voters are deeply divided about this race. The Register’s editorial board, as it should, had a vigorous debate over this endorsement. Our discussion repeatedly circled back to the nation’s single most important challenge: pulling the economy out of the doldrums, getting more Americans back in the workforce in meaningful jobs with promising futures, and getting the federal government on a track to balance the budget in a bipartisan manner that the country demands.

Which candidate could forge the compromises in Congress to achieve these goals? When the question is framed in those terms, Mitt Romney emerges the stronger candidate.

The former governor and business executive has a strong record of achievement in both the private and the public sectors. He was an accomplished governor in a liberal state. He founded and ran a successful business that turned around failing companies. He successfully managed the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City."

So take a big step back from the bong and rethink that post. You're obviously in fantasy land with the other people supporting Obama.

tasine| 10.27.12 @ 10:46AM

One simple answer in the short-run would be for every American to simply didn't file tax returns next year if Obama is still in the White House.d If NO money is coming in, I suspect less will go out. Yes, we may land in the gulag - bear in mind we may land there regardless what we do or don't do. In Obama's world, all laws, feelings, beliefs, issues either suit his needs or he runs over them.

Thanks, Ned, for a great article and for the encouragement to all real Americans. I hope I am wrong in assuming Obama won't leave office regardless what any election results may be.
