Campaign Crawlers

The Plan, the Man, and the Believers

Four years of failure don’t disillusion Obama’s faithful.

Less than two weeks before Americans finally have a chance to vote him out of office, President Obama has begun shouting at campaign rallies: “I’ve got a plan!”

It’s really a slogan, not a plan, referring to a 20-page pamphlet that is about as plausible as Obama’s notorious June 2008 boast that his election would mark “the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal.” Difficult as it may now be to recall, there were once “spiritually advanced people” who looked at this Chicago machine politician and saw “a Lightworker, that rare kind of attuned being… who can actually help usher in a new way of being on the planet.” Obviously, none of these “advanced” people read The American Spectator, but many of them are still out there awaiting this “new way of being,” which is the only possible explanation for the crowds who show up to cheer their hero as he reads his lines from the teleprompter screens.

“We’ve got a long way to go, Iowa, but we’ve come too far to turn back now,” Obama declared at a rally Wednesday in Davenport. “We can’t afford to go back to what got us into this mess. We’ve got to stick with policies that are getting out of this mess. That’s why I’m running for a second term as President of the United States of America.”

The idolatrous horde burst into applause and began chanting, “Four more years!” And their idol hadn’t even told them about The Plan yet. The following passage differs from the official transcript in that it has been punctuated to convey more accurately the cadence of the Lightworker’s delivery: “Now, the good news is I’ve got a plan! That will actually create jobs! That will actually reduce the deficit! That will actually create middle-class security! And unlike Mitt Romney, I’m proud to talk about what’s actually in my plan! Because my math actually adds up!”

Spiritually advanced people don’t usually get too excited about math, but for a Lightworker, they’re willing to make an exception. The transcript indicates that the Davenport crowd interrupted to applaud the president’s speech more than 35 times and, before considering any of the specifics of The Plan, we should pause to ask a few questions: Where do they come from, these thousands of True Believers who show up for Obama rallies and applaud such nonsense? What precise combination of resentment and credulity is necessary to believe that Obama now has The Plan that can accomplish in the next four years what he has so spectacularly failed to do in the past four years?

Their credulity is perhaps best explained by a recent study that found America’s faculty lounges remain a bastion of intellectual diversity where political opinion ranges from moderate Bolshevism to the more progressive views historically associated with such leaders as Idi Amin, Bela Kun, and Pol Pot. The left-wing hegemony in academia has made discredited socialist theories as fashionable as Che Guevara T-shirts on campus, creating a ready market for the type of trendy hokum that once inspired George Orwell to remark, “One has to belong to the intelligentsia to believe things like that: no ordinary man could be such a fool.”

Credulous as they are — exactly the kind of suckers whom P.T. Barnum said should never be given an even break — the Obamaphile masses are even more remarkable for their boundless resentment of The Rich. The Democrat Party nowadays is a Coalition of Hate and Envy, held together by a paranoid nightmare vision of hedge-fund managers and venture capitalists plundering the helpless middle class. And the dastardly villain in this economic melodrama, conveniently enough, is a Republican named Mitt Romney, whose malicious schemes the Lightworker heroically opposes.

“Folks at the very top get to play by a very different set of rules than you do,” Obama said, explaining to the Davenport crowd what he called the “one-point plan” of his GOP challenger. “They can keep paying lower tax rates than you do, keep their money in off-shore accounts. They can buy up a company, load it up with debt, lay off the workers, strip away their pensions, send the jobs overseas — and they still make a big profit while the middle class gets stuck with the bill.… That was his philosophy in the private sector. That was his philosophy as governor. That’s his philosophy now.”

Attributing systematic and deliberate unfairness to Republicans as The Party of the Rich has been the basic message of the Democratic Party for as long as any living soul can remember. It is their raison d’être, their stock in trade, their Fundamental Article of Faith. There are jihadis in Waziristan and snake-handlers in Appalachian hollows less zealous in their beliefs than are Democrats in the grip of a class-warfare revival, and Obama is their Elmer Gantry. Watching his Davenport sermon on TV, you almost expected to see someone leap up in the audience, fling away his crutches and shout, “Hallelujah! I can walk!”

The gospel tract of this Democratic crusade is The Plan, the greatest promise of which is that it “will cut the deficit by $4 trillion over the next 10 years,” as Obama told his Davenport congregation, “but we’re going to do it in a balanced way. We’re going to cut out spending we don’t need, but we’re also going to ask the wealthiest Americans to pay a little bit more.” None of his cheering admirers would dare question that claim — for surely a Lightworker would never lie to them — but the infidels at the Wall Street Journal did the math and found that Obama’s tax hike on the rich “increases revenue only between $50 billion and $80 billion a year, a rounding error in the $1 trillion-plus deficit era.”

Such is the unavoidable problem with The Plan. However much it may satisfy the class-warfare fervor of the Democratic faithful, taxing the rich won’t fix the deficit. As for Obama’s promise to “cut out spending we don’t need,” it is impossible for any honest and intelligent person to take seriously such a promise coming from the man who recklessly squandered taxpayer money on “green energy” boondoggles like Solyndra.

But it is a rare thing these days to encounter a Democrat who is both honest and intelligent. It has become a party of fools misled by clever liars, and the factual deficiencies of The Plan won’t dissuade any Democrat who still believes in the rainbows-and-unicorns fantasy of Obama the Lightworker. We’ve come to expect such delusions among the intelligentsia. What is astonishing is that any ordinary man could still be such a fool.

Amazing how they deceive themselves...When they return to reality, it's going to be a hard fall...The Great Deceiver...

TLP| 10.25.12 @ 8:40AM

All of this History Repeating itself is wearing me out. What, with all of the Warnings out there and AGAIN, nobody Heeding them.

Why is vtwin's "Nigga" (His word, not mine) here, at this time? How is this Muslim Boy, raised in The Muslim World on Muslim Hatred, the President of the most Powerful Christian Nation in the History of the World, now, and at this time?

How can a guy who supposedly was born in Hawaii, have a Connecticut Social Security Number - Prefix 042? And how is it that a Guy who won his two previous Illinois State Elections by having his Opponent's Divorce Records UNSEALED by a Bought and Paid For Chicago Judge, be allowed to keep His Own Sealed Records SEALED? And why would anyone Seal Away their Passport, their College Transcripts, their College Thesis, and their College Scholarship Paperwork?

What is he hiding?

We've got The Second Greatest Story Ever Told, and nobody wants to Tell it, lest they be dragged through the mud as a Racist, or worse.

He claims he's a Christian, even as he Attacks the Catholic Church for their Beliefs.he claims that he's a follower of the teachings of CHRIST, yet he sat in a Hate Church for 20 Years, and Refused to speak at Georgetown, unless every Christian Symbol in the room was REMOVED.

He claims he's the Best Friend that Israel has ever had, and yet he's never been there, as opposed to all of the Muslim Countries that he's visited.

TLP| 10.25.12 @ 9:01AM

He Honoured his Muslim Brotherhood Comrades in his Home, while leaving the Israeli Leader, downstairs in the Kitchen, while he went to get something to eat for HIMSELF, before having the JEW exit his Home through the Side Door, where he keeps his Garbage Cans.

He went to War with Libya, so he could hand it over to the Islamists, the same way he did in Egypt, with his Judas Kiss on Mubarek.

He does nothing with Iran, and even less, concerning the Massacres in Syria. He seems to only have a Problem with the JEWS in the Middle East, always building Apartments in THEIR OWN FREAKIN CAPITOL!

Everything in the Book of Revelation is Coming to Pass. EVERYTHING.

Do not be surprised if this Final Battle does, indeed, begin in the Ancient City of Meggido, as the Bible tells us.

Evil is on the March.

Russia's Military Might grows. And with it, so does its Belligerence.

The same is true for China, and its Intentions in Southeast Asia and the Phillipines. As well as the rise, once again, of a South American Communist Resurgence.

But enough of all that.

Let's talk about Free Condoms, shall we?

Joellen| 10.25.12 @ 9:17AM

Tim, the simple answer, we arent that Christian any longer. If we were, Congressman Murdock wouldn't be taken out of context, shunned and asked to be removed as a good leader, simply because of his defense of all life from conception to nature death. If we were, we wouldnt be divided by the notion that family, which consist of father, mother and children is the lifeblood of our foundation. If we truly believed that all good comes from GOD, these people who follow Obama and his ilk, wouldnt, for if they had faith, they would know that GOD blessed all of us with certain potential, and it is up to the individual, not the Government, to ferment it. If we were, those of us who adhere to the one true GOD would'nt constantly be under attack because we believe GOD's laws (the ten commandments) and adhere to his rules and not man made/government rules that are out there simply to replace GOD. When we return to our true Christian roots, we will become a "rich" country once again. Till then, fools, that blindly follow Obama and his ilk, will continue to do so.

vtwin| 10.25.12 @ 10:53AM

We never were "Christian" what we are is free people, free to make our own decisions about our own lives but people like Murdock want to make the decisions about our own lives for us, Murdock wants to take our freedoms away.

Riff Raff| 10.25.12 @ 11:41AM

Waht we "WERE" is a free people, but people like Obama want to make decisions about our own lives for us, Obama wants to take our freedoms away and make us wards of the State, completely dependent on the largesse of self-important politicians. Welcome to the New Caesarism. There is far more to be feared in government than in Murdock.

TLP| 10.25.12 @ 7:49PM

Contest, tomorrow Riff Raff (Let's do the,Timewarp again)

Dai Alanye | 10.25.12 @ 12:25PM

The freedom that vtwin specifically refers to is the "freedom" to execute unborn children. And perhaps the recently-born as well. Never mind all those other freedoms that BO has assaulted.

vtwin| 10.25.12 @ 1:45PM

Do you really want to surrender your or your daughters and granddaughters freedom to make decision about continuing a pregnancy resulting from rape to politicians?

John II| 10.25.12 @ 1:57PM

That can't be right. Why would anyone want to continue a pregnancy resulting from rape to politicians? Don't you mean deciding to rape a politician resulting from pregnancy?

You must take greater care with your syntax, Twitty.

TLP| 10.25.12 @ 3:59PM

I don't want your "Nigga". (vtwin's words, not mine)

KyMouse| 10.25.12 @ 4:13PM

Vtwin, it isn't "a pregnancy" that is sliced into pieces and thrown out in the trash; it's a human being that is developing the very same way you and I did at that stage of our lives.

In this country, a rape conviction by itself doesn't earn a man the death penalty. If the guilty man isn't executed, why should his innocent child be executed?

The baby is not the mother's attacker, but is, in fact, a second victim. Both mother and child need help and support in order to get on with their lives.

There are more than 4,000 pregnancy-resource centers in this country that are eager to help mothers in crisis pregnancies. They provide a wide range of assistance, including help in finding adoptive homes for babies.

Doing violence to the baby won't undo the violence already done to the mother. Abortion brings its own emotional and physical dangers, and often seems like a second rape to the mother.

No one, including a child's mother, knows how a baby's life will turn out. In fact, she may find, as her pregnancy continues, that she wants her child to have a chance at life.

Is there ANY child who doesn't deserve that chance?

Vtwin, if your mother told you today that you had been conceived during rape, would you say, "My life isn't worth living -- I should have been killed"?

Or would you say, "Thanks, Mom, for letting me live"?

Joellen| 10.25.12 @ 4:49PM

Beautifully said KyMouse - thank you.

Anthony| 10.25.12 @ 4:26PM

We make exceptions for any women forced to have sex with you and your ilk, vtwin.

TLP| 10.25.12 @ 7:51PM

How about we leave them to the Freedom not to get Laid?

Is that alright with you, and your Nigga?

TinaB| 10.25.12 @ 8:20PM

What about the freedom to a Super Late Full Term All the Way up to the Age of Vtwin abortion? Huh? Is that legal? No? That's murder too? Oh, ok.

Anthony| 10.25.12 @ 4:24PM

Jeez vtwin, you're not supposed to stick your finger in the electrical socket whe charging your Volt, or Leaf, cuz you'll fry your pea brain.
The only folks who want to control are you and your fellow lefty goose-steppers.
Can I get me here some frys with that 64 oz Coke? Why not Moochelle?

ebonystone| 10.25.12 @ 2:18PM

"Congressman Murdock"

Richard Mourdock is not, and never has been, a Congressman, although he did run for that office a few times. He is the Treasurer of the State of Indiana and the Republican candidate for Senator.

KyMouse| 10.25.12 @ 9:45AM

Does anybody know where we can get a hard copy of The Plan that Obama is waving around? The one with so many photos of him and so little real information? I'd love one.

Mr. Melvin| 10.25.12 @ 10:37AM

If Colin Powell (oh, how you used to champion him) can back President Obama, so can you.

Former Secretary of State Colin Powell has backed President Obama for a second term in the White House.

The Republican crossed party lines four years ago to support Obama in his race with Sen. John McCain. Thursday he did the same, casting himself as part of a “dying breed,” a “Republican of a more moderate mold.”

A "Republican of a more moderate mold," I really do like the sound of that.

I, a traditional Republican, have switched parties also. Ignorant, uncouth teapartiers (many of them form the readership of AmSpec) are too much for me to stomach.

Alej| 10.25.12 @ 10:53AM

Nope, can't switch, Melvin, or Tyrone, or Shabazz, whomever... not enough melanin.

Powell was a knee grow first, and an affirmative-action legatee second. American somewhere down the list.

vtwin| 10.25.12 @ 10:56AM

I suspect Ronald Reagan wouldn’t feel a home in today Republican Party.

Mr. Melvin| 10.25.12 @ 11:27AM

Consider Mourdock's hideous statement about rape:

Life is that gift from God. I think that even when life begins in that horrible situation of rape, that it is something God intended to happen.

The newer crop of Republican candidates and elected officials are, more often than not, straight from the extreme right-wing base.

They’re less polished than their predecessors; they’re more ideologically pure. As a result, they’ve accidentally been letting the mask slip and showing what’s really at the core of the right-to-life movement--control of women's bodies.

Indeed, Obama will get my vote.

Mr. Melvin| 10.25.12 @ 11:30AM

If Romney--God forbid--is elected, we Pro-Choice advocates will demand, demand, demand that a woman has a right to choose.

We will never let up for a minute. We will agitate, agitate, agitate.

Riff Raff| 10.25.12 @ 11:42AM

"Right to choose" is a euphemism for "right to murder." Agitate all you want. You are still dirt.

Boar Hunter| 10.25.12 @ 11:46AM

What a witless fool.

Ignorant, beyond redemption.

Mr. Melvin| 10.25.12 @ 12:12PM

I agree.

Riff Raff uses inappropriate, emotionally-loaded language--"right to murder"--recklessly.

If a woman has terminated her pregnancy, will the new Republican Right Wing charge her with murder?

Perhaps we will need to build hundreds, if not thousands of new prisons to house the "murderers."

Think about it. No, on the other hand, just forget it, and keep spewing your nonsense.

You are not going to think . . . period.

Riff Raff| 10.25.12 @ 12:23PM

"We will agitate, agitate, agitate." This is NOT emotionally charged? It is and it also is threatening. But you wouldn't understand that, being the idiot that you are. You really think you have a "right" to kill an unborn baby? Really? It is a killing, your mindless euphemisms notwithstanding.

Note: Boar Hunter was referring to you, as you no doubt are aware.

lost| 10.25.12 @ 3:10PM

You do realize he does not understand what you are saying. He is one of those that believe obama saved GM from bankruptcy. GM/Chrysler and the rest of the nation would have been better off without bailing GM/Chrysler out. Is GM still an American company unlike Chrysler? No wait they are a Government company now

Cpm| 10.25.12 @ 1:23PM

Don't worry Mr. Melvin (how many "Melvins" you must have suffered to take that title),when Romney is elected you will still be able to have that abortion you want so badly.

TinaB| 10.25.12 @ 8:36PM

And if you do, Mr. M, I venture to guess you will burn, burn, burn.

Aristocat| 10.26.12 @ 1:34AM

I wish your mother had exercised her right to choose not to have you.

Alej| 10.25.12 @ 1:33PM

"They’re less polished than their predecessors;.... ."

Like yesterday when obama told a six-year-old kid that "...Romney is a bullshitter?"

Unfucking quote.

Anybody that votes for obama this time around needs to be rounded up, lobotomized, sterilized, and put to good use policing up the nation's road system's rights of way. Democrats are the dross of American society.

Life is something God itends for God creates All Life. About 75% of Americans still believe that old concept.

BTW, why don't you sit down and have a talk with Rebecca Kiessling or Monica Kelsey and tell them they never deserved to live.? Both of their biological fathers raped their mothers.

Yes, I applaud your decision to vote for Obama. You 2 deserve eachother.

Dave Williams| 10.25.12 @ 12:22PM

That is really stupid, even for you.

Grzmlyk| 10.25.12 @ 4:07PM

And JFK would be called a radical right-winger by today's extortionist, dishonest, hateful Democrat party.

Anthony| 10.25.12 @ 4:31PM

And JFK would feel at home in Obozo's Muslim Marxist Party? You're so full of it vtwin.

Quartermaster| 10.25.12 @ 12:12PM

Colin Powell admitted he voted for the Bammer simply because they shared skinn color (in other words, Powell is a racialist). In addition to that, Powell has always been a Dem wearing GOP colors.

The reality is, if you are switching parties, you are simply going home to be with the rest of tools and fools. If the Tea Party types cause political indigestion, then that is confirmation of what i saind in the first sentence. You were never GOP, moderate or conservative. For TP to cause you problems you have to be a leftist extremist.

KennesawJack| 10.25.12 @ 7:52PM

This hurts, but it's time for True Confessions. I WAS a big Powell fan and thought he paid his racial dues with the '08 endorsement so I overlooked it. And then, some of you (doubtless TLP-he of the monster memory) will recall that I suggested Powell might make a good running mate for Romney for no other reason than it would have represented a complete repudiation of Obamarx by an accomplished "Nigga" (vtwin's words, not mine). However, I have, sadly and belatedly, come to the realization that Mr. Powell's skin color means more to him than his country. So, to all the cadre (I was gonna say corpsman but I don't know how to pronounce it) who post here on the correct side of things, please accept my abject apologies for my aforementioned foolishness. Oh! Before I forget. Mr. Melvin, you, sir, are either a f**king idiot or a liar, or, quite possibly, both but you are most assuredly not a traditonal Republican.

So Melvin, do tell us about the "dying breed" of Democrats who support Romney. List 5 for us will ya? And what mold exactly have Democrats injested that allows you folks to support the Muslim Marxist president?
You are a traditional moron and most certainly were never a Republican.
I seem to remember your ilk didn't have too many warm and kind words for former D Georgia senator Zell Miller, eh Melvin?

Obama saved U.S., the patient on the table that was crashing because of the incompetence of the guy in there before him. Stimulus got us back to stable but critical condition. Meantime Obama spent a lot of effort to make sure there was enough insurance for U.S.

Obama couldn't do much else, because of the willful obstruction of some of the family members of U.S. to any further action or aid. So, we've mostly been left to wait for the patient's vitals to recover. As anyone who has crashed as bad as U.S. has, that can take time. Still the patient has noticeably improved.

But, the situation is still delicate for U.S. Some of U.S. are clamoring for a new team of doctors (who hail from the same Bush-league school), who insist that the thing this patient needs is to have the life-support yanked, maybe given a few Red Bulls. Then he'll get off the table.

That's an insane prescription, of course. And there's no way we're going to let that happen to U.S. You may be preventing us from the government supply-side measures that would be optimal, to improve the situation of U.S., but for damn sure we're not going to let you at the helm again. You're going to have to wait till Dr. Rubio has graduated.

In my neighborhood, the GM Boxwood Road plant was open, as was the Catholic School where three generations of my family attended. Both of these closed for good during the Obama administration.

At a national level, Messrs. Stevens, Smith, Wood and Doherty were alive.

I am not blind to the effect that Obama's policies have had on all of these things, and many more.

I suggest you consult your audio dictionary for the definition of "Obtuse".

In January 2009, there were 32 million on Food Stamps. Today 49 million are on Food Stamps.

In January 2009 total outlays for all Welfare Entitlements was around $300 billion. Today it is over $1 trillion.

Enough said.

ebonystone| 10.25.12 @ 2:27PM

It's the debt -- the amount the government owes to lenders -- that's at $16 trillion.
The deficit is the annual shortcoming of revenue vs expenditures -- the amount that the government must borrow to pay its bills. Under Obama the deficit has been running at $1.5 trillion/year, raising the debt to the $16 trillion figure.

One can only imagine what the last two years would have been like during the former Pelosi-Reid Administration if it hadn't been for the 2010 election's repudiation of the vile snake oil salesman that currently occupies the Oval Office. Riff Raff| 10.25.12 @ 9:38AM

The "patient", the U.S. economy, was rushed in to surgery, following a severe government inflicted gunshot wound, and was bleeding profusely. The new Chief of Medicine, Dr. Obama of Government Medical Services, was quick to act: "We shall bleed the patient in hopes that this will stimulate his recovery." Of course this did not work, and it is a testament to the PATIENT'S Constitution that he did not die, not to any stupid acts by the criminally incompetent Dr. Obama.

Government spending does not produce prosperity, except for the selective prosperity of those in government, while the rest of us pay for it. Economics does not work under a government-centric model, it never has and it never will. PEOPLE create prosperity, not government. "Dr. Obama" is killing the patient, not aiding his recovery. What is insane is to pretend that the grossly incompetent boob in the White House is a great success while jobs continue to disappear, wealth continues to contract, and government continues to take more and more of OUR money to spend on itself.

Simon Templar| 10.25.12 @ 9:40AM

Your willful ignorance and deceptions are actually staggering to read.

The stimulus was a gigantic waste of money and most economist agree. The quantitative easing is what "stabilized" the economy not the stimulus and has only put the disaster off and created an illusion of stability.

Take a course in economics and business, Ted the Red. It is government interference and spending by both Dem and Republicans that has gotten us in this mess...

vtwin| 10.25.12 @ 11:01AM

The stimulus saved the economy from a second Great Depression and most economist agree.

http://blogs.ajc.com/jay-bookm.....-stimulus/

Riff Raff| 10.25.12 @ 11:44AM

Horse manure. The stimulus paid off Obama's campaign supporters. Fewer people have jobs today that in 2008. Wealth is contracting, not expanding, dependency on government is up, Up, UP!!!! You live in a leftist bubble, oblivious to facts and to reality.

vtwin| 10.25.12 @ 1:50PM

So, if the facts don't fit your ideology deny?

JP| 10.25.12 @ 2:20PM

The Bush Recession ended in June 2009. Stimulus money didn't even begin hitting the streets until late summer of 2009. And Jay Bookman didn't give any facts.

The fact is, Obama had nothing to do with the ending of the Bush Recession -how could he? He was only in office for 5 months when it ended.

But, Obama certainly had everything to do with our anemic recovery. As a matter of fact, we are most probably in the first weeks of the Obama Recession.

Warrior| 10.25.12 @ 4:56PM

We have been living in the Obama recession for years. The economy is a zombie, but not officially a recession as long as you keep pumping a trillion and a half of borrowed and printed money to artificially keep it propped up. They are putting makeup on a corpse.

I don’t think any incoming President in our history has found the nation in greater dire straits --multiple and unnecessary wars, job loss rate at a staggering 750,000 a month, projected annual deficits at an unbelievable $1.3 trillion …-- than what Bush left behind for the incoming President. Our nation since the Inauguration of Barack Obama despite an obstructionist Republican Party has come a long way on all fronts and now is not the time to give the helm to an inexperienced and clueless fool who worships a god he keeps in a Cayman Islands bank account.

We will have to pass it to know what's in it...

Von Mises Jr| 10.25.12 @ 7:25AM

Santayana theorized "All of this has happened before, all of this will happen again."

In the Weimar Republic, there were three party factions: Majority Socialist, Independent Socialist and the Bolshevik inspired Communist. The Prussian Empire and the Weimar Republic had rejected capital markets and free trade for a choice between variations of socialism deciding it was better to steal from neighbors than produce for themselves.
This is what led to the rise of Hitler. Socialism always and everywhere creates catastrophic misery. It inspires war.
So after the Prussian Empire and Weimar Republic experienced decades of revolution, war, poverty and hyperinflation, they hailed Hitler whom promised to give them other people's stuff.
That is why Hitler attempted to conquer the world with the support of the German people. Have our mesmerized masses descended to worshiping a monster who will take from others and give to them? I am afraid many have already accepted Obama precisely for this reason.

Jacob McCandles| 10.25.12 @ 9:26AM

These "mesmerized masses", I fear, are actually the majority of Americans. Or maybe I'm giving them too much credit. To be mesmerized requires that one pays attention just a little bit. Maybe that's why Von M. said you can't do this free market thing half-assed. The masses of dependent citizens grow like tumors. You are either all in, or you will eventually be subjects.

Von Mises Jr| 10.25.12 @ 9:33AM

Obama stands upon the stage and struts about, speaking of his holy plan. It glows blue in the artifical light cast by the stage illumination. It's a powerful document, much like a comic book about Superman, or the Fantastic Four. It is filled with page upon page of information written soemwhat like an ancient Sanskrit. Only Obama can understand it, as he is the "One". Will he read from it, or will he just walk about flashing it's phathomic blue color?

Nope, he will not. More of the same old stuff, the same give aways, same diplomacy, etc. If he had a plan it would have been implemented a long time ago. It's all for show.

Anthony| 10.25.12 @ 9:25AM

Leftism is a mental disorder. It requires one to suspend all rational thinking and common sense. It is based on a fanaticism that is totally irrational, hence the idolatry of "The One". It is indeed religious in nature. This is why the left respond like 3rd graders when challenged.
Their call for violence is their desperate cry to salvage their delusions.
Thus, I give you Ted R, Jack London, Purp, and vtwin, sterling examples of today's D Party.

Alan| 10.25.12 @ 9:41AM

Leftism is Utopianism. Utopianism is unachievable because of the human nature of men. Human nature(reality) both its good and bad sides will ALWAYS trump utopianistic dreamers and the results will always end the same, disaster for leftism. To beleive in leftist/utopianist ideology requires the suspension of the belief in reality.
To try to better mankind and staying in the bounds of reality while doing is achieveable.
Unfortunately forced leftism in history has resulted in the deaths of 10's of if not 100's of millions and to deny and ignore that fact is lunacy.

Albert Constantine Jr.| 10.25.12 @ 9:42AM

Leftism, really? How about hope is that a mental disorder? I asked because when millions of Americans were unemployed or in fear of becoming unemployed, when millions were losing their homes or afraid losing their homes saw hope in Obama hope for change from the corrupt and clueless leadership offered by the Republican Party, the political party that tank the economy, doubled the nations’ debt and lied our nation into war. Then again maybe it wasn’t hope as much as it was anybody but the cocksuckers in the party that fucked the country up!

Quartermaster| 10.25.12 @ 12:19PM

You're changing the subject. It's not about hope, but the object of that hope. The object is what is not attainable.

We’re all suckers.

Try NOT to suck air for very long. Likewise gross food, which these days, is being “force-fed” people by most effective advertising, to the point of bursting.

It reminds me of how goose livers are enlarged by “farmers”, to produce foie gras. Who can doubt that the addition of fat that overeating brings doesn’t ALSO result in concomitant enlarged organs?

Here’s an old Errol Flynn joke, as I recall—

How do you herd a group of geese?

Attach some food to the end of a strong string, and feed it to one bird. When the string passes out the anus, feed it to another, etc etc. That’ll keep them strung together!

Yes---I can picture the left-liberal acolytes of Obama this way. Their “food”, though, consists of the envy and resentment “tidbits” fed to them by Obama, and the entire Taking Establishment known as the Democratic Party.

Another image cries out---just born chicks, in a nest, with their beaks wide open, gathered together just NEEDING so much the “worms” or “rats” or whatever their mother must catch. Oh, feed me, Jackie!

Suck on, America!

However, sucking is only one half of reality.

There is reception AND release.

After over-sucking, there’s bound to be a massive dumping!

Great article, all true. I have concluded from 50 years of following politics closely, and working in and around the public a number of those years that our government is totally broken, totally and completely corrupt, and that those who vote for those corrupt people are enabling such, and our country will fall as a result.

I have done a short article at http://no-ruler.net/2423/new-america/#.UIlssIa8poQ entitled NEW AMERICA and I hope everyone will read and respond. I believe anything is possible and that failure is only failure if people give up. There are ways out of the abyss we are in and my little article addresses some of my ideas, but more importantly begs for ideas from any American who worries about our country.

BackToBasics| 10.25.12 @ 3:27PM

My biggest concern is vote fraud by the democrats in the swing states. Now, irony of ironies, MSNBC and now "The Washington Post" mention how Romney might be planning on vote fraud in Ohio.

I think the dems are setting up a scenario that if the election is very close and Romney is ahead and Ohio makes the difference, the dems plan to contest the election in court and in public opinion about Romney winning because of voter fraud by the Romney team.

If the election is close in several states and Romney is ahead I expect that all will be contested and it may be 2 months before a decision is made.

I hope the plurality of votes and states Romney wins is more than enough to make such recounts and vote fraud accusations unnecessary.
