The irony here is stunning.
First, as the Daily Caller notes, a full six months
before Obama’s speech, “the federal government had sent at least
$110 billion to areas damaged by Katrina. Compare this to the mere
$20 billion that the Bush administration pledged to New York City
after 9/11.” While Obama accuses the government of not waiving the
“Stafford Act” (which provides for a matching fund ratio in
reconstruction efforts) during Katrina, unlike, he says, during the
Andrew and 9/11 disasters, this is simply untrue. As the
DC points out, the Stafford Act was waived at various
points during the Katrina clean-up — and mere weeks before Obama’s
speech an additional $6.9 billion went to the hard-hit arena with
“no strings attached.” The notion that as a sitting senator and by
2007 an active presidential candidate Obama had no knowledge of
this is preposterous.
Second, now that he himself has been president for four years
what happened to all that “poverty in our midst” Obama was shouting
about back there in 2007? That’s right — as noted
here, the poverty rate is expected to rise shortly to 15.7% —
the highest rate since the LBJ 1960’s. And the number of Americans
on food stamps has shot up by some 800,000 in 2011 to a record 46.7
million Americans.
What the Daily Caller has unearthed here, what exploded
into the political atmosphere on Hannity’s show last night, is the
portrait of a man with two faces.
When he isn’t quite so famous, when the press was snoozing on
the job, he can miraculously deliver a 40-minute minute speech in a
Southern-accented twang in spite of the fact that his southern
heritage reaches only as far as the South Side of Chicago.
He can — and did — play the race card, ironically playing
blacks off not just against whites but Hispanics as well. No wonder
the
Univision folks are so suspicious of him on Fast and
Furious.
What’s significant here?
This speech, pricelessly captured on video, shows a man who has
no intention whatsoever in leading a “post-racial” America. This is
a man who has every intention of dividing by race, and twisting the
facts or eliminating them altogether as he goes along.
The really shocking thing here is that only now, confronted with
video tape, will some people begin to understand the actual
presidential performance of the man they elected four years
ago.
This is a President with two faces. The one on display when,
figuratively speaking, he thinks no one is looking. The other the
man who sits today in the White House — trying to convince his
fellow citizens he really isn’t the man his critics accuse him of
being.
That would be the first man.
The man on the tape who sees America , as the Daily
Caller points out, as a “racist, zero-sum society, in which
the white majority profits by exploiting black America.”
On the very eve of the first presidential debate, the Obama
campaign now has a serious new problem.
And there’s plenty of time for millions to get acquainted with
the man on that tape.

This is an unusually brief article by Jeffrey Lord’s standards, and a re-hash of the story from the Daily Caller for the most part. It also reveals what most of us here know about Obama, and have known since before this video was made. Still, it is hopeful that if anyone beyond the choir here sees it, it helps break through the walls of denial that allow him to be portrayed as “post racial”.
Von Mises Jr| 10.3.12 @ 6:50AM
It is fodder for election advertizing. If the Super PACS are smart, they will use Obama's own angry and racist words in a commercial.
This is why D'Souza's "2016" is so powerful. It is Obama speaking for his audio books melded with the history to paint the picture.
We know the MSM will not put this on the 6PM News since they don't do news anymore. So it is our job to report the news.
While the Press is protected under the Constitution, so are the People. We also have free speech, and if you let others intimidate you with political correctness, then you are already not free.

I was accosted on Sunday at the local Trader Joes by an aggressive liberal who saw my Romney/Ryan pin. He strode up to me and without any introduction, said "So! You don't believe in a woman's right to choose!" Not,"may I ask you a question?" Just as their leader told them to do, "Get in their face!" with that arrogant nasty attitude. And not to mention he was male! His mealy mouth wife stood in the background with a smirk on her face, too chicken shit to do the work herself.
This is what has happened to our nation because of the left. I will continue to proudly wear my flag pin, my buttons, T-shirts and hats with Republican candidates on them and next time will be better prepared to knock the legs out from underneath the bastard.

It's the Democrat "War on Women," Stephie. You would never find a conservative man treat a fine woman that way. In fact, if I had been there, sissy boy might still be collecting his teeth.
Stick with the conservative crowd whenever possible. Not only do we respect a woman’s intelligence, we are often a lot of fun. Liberals are miserable in addition to being cowards.

My standard response is: "Of course a woman has a right to choose, but there is an appropriate time to make the choice. That time is before having sex that could result in a pregnancy. After that, she is killing her baby."
And, to the response about rape, I reply: "OK, I'll compromise with you. How about if we prohibit all abortions except those caused by rape." I have never had anyone accept that compromise.

kpat| 10.3.12 @ 2:59PM
Ok, so to wear a pin in public is to invite a "challenge" according to you? Well, since you describe yourself as a rapist, I guess that fits. Also, since you seem to have fallen for O'bama's professed love of Jesus, I don't really have much faith in your intelligence. Hannity was right about Obama and Wright in 2008, while everyone else ignored the story. On tape O praises Wright as his pastor and counsellor, and how he counselled Michele. Imagine a Republican having a racist, anti semitic, anti American minister and counsellor for 20 years.
I liked Obama's southern accent. I did not know they had that accent in Hawaii and Indonesia.
Doctor Right| 10.3.12 @ 7:56AM
Hannity was not the only one to cover the Rev. Wright story in '08; he was simply the only one to keep beating a dead horse after it was clear that the McCain team was too gutless to use the information, and that no one else cared (outside of Conservative circles).
I'd never heard of Wright, but even so, none of it was really a surprise. Black radicals are reflexively anti-American, and have been since the days of Paul Robeson.

Maybe we should have a contest on who does the best black accent.
We have Algore doing the preacher.
We have Hillary saying "I am nowheres tired..."
We have Joey Biden doing the " they gonna put youall in chains...'
We have Obama praising Rev Wright and comparing Katrina to 9/11
And finally we have the first black president, Bubba.
I wonder what Harry Reid now thinks, he said Obama was an attractive candidate who did not have a black accent.
These Dems show their contempt for the black voters by using this phony accent. All voters should be insulted by this pandering.
Albert Constantine Jr.| 10.3.12 @ 8:20PM
I think Harry Reid said he didn't have a "Negro dialect" except when we wanted to, and apparently in this video, he must have wanted to.
The first time I was in Tokyo in the 1980s, one of my colleagues (Bob B.) pointed to a series of structures we were passing, and asked the cab driver if that was the Emperor's House. The driver didn't react, so Bob asked again, louder and slower while pointing "Emperor's House". He got a reaction, but it was from the rest of us in the cab laughing at him.
If only he had attended the Obama Academy of Linguistic Pandering, he could have feigned a Japanese accent, pointed and said "Empalo Hou zu", his question might have been understood.

But who is Louis Farrakhan, the “messenger” heralding America’s “Messiah”? And what latent symbiosis exists between him and person who may become our next president? His words may reveal the answer:
White people are potential humans…. they haven’t evolved yet (Louis Farrakhan, The Philadelphia Inquirer, March 2000)....

This is not first hand knowledge but data from reliable sources inside multiple agencies of the Federal Government.
1. Governor Blanco and Mayor Nagin refused to order a mandatory evacuation
2. At the height of the storm, as a Category 5, Katrina's clouds filled the entire Gulf of Mexico.
3. On August 27th Governor Blanco made a formal request for Federal Assistance. Something that MUST be done before the Federal Government can legally do anything other than per-positioning.
4. Katrina made landfall on August 29 as a Category 3 and caused significant to catastrophic damage from Central Florida to Texas.
5. Also while Nagin, and his staff evacuated to Baton Rouge to protect his back side, he told the people he was responsible for to go to the Stadium. At the Stadium there were no supplies, no police, no medical help. There was nothing.
6. So what happens? – GEORGE BUSH DID IT.
7. If the city had been evacuated, there would have been property damage but a lot fewer people would have died.
Aftermath:
1. George Bush is racist and steered that hurricane to New Orleans to kill black people.
2. The Corps of Engineers is racist because they blew up the levies to kill black people.
3. The Federal Government is racist and was slow to respond to the needs of Black People.

Go to The National Journal. Look at their Story about their newest Poll. This White Hating, Jew Hating, America Hater is getting 98% of the Black Vote. Mitt Romney is getting 0%.
This Racist THING, in the White House, sat in a White Hating, Jew Hating, America Hater's Hate Church for 20 Years. He performed his Marraige. Baptized his kids into his Church of Hatred. He was his Mentor, and "A part of my Family".
This Boy - Born a Muslim - Organized for Louis Farrakhan's Million Man March. Did you know that? Another White Hating, Jew Hating, America Hating "Friend" of His, and Michelle's.
We all know about his long relationship with that Couple in his Neighborhood - Bill Ayers, and Bernadine Dohrn. But did you know that they Hated Whites and Jews, as well? Did you know that Ayers and Dohrn and their Weather Underground Terrorist Group espoused Forcing their way in to Maternity Wards, and KILLING ALL THE WHITE BABIES? Did you know that?
Even his White Friends, Hate White People.
"Father" Pfleger springs to mind.
Everybody knows Who, and What he is. He's a White Hater and a Jew Hater, who Hates this Country, and Hates Israel.
So, again: Why would any White, or Jew, Vote for this Creature?

I watched Hannity last night looking for some kind of bombshell; what I saw was nothing but over-hyped crap.
This supposedly "devastating" video contained no new insights about Obama, and frankly wasn't even that outrageous. I was struggling to find anything Obama said that was more than the standard kind of left-wing drivel one expects to hear from a left-wing black politician in a left-wing black church.
Frankly, the hour that Hannity wasted would have been better served by discussing Fast & Furious and Univision, and the murder of yet another border agent in Arizona.
This video will not persuade anyone to change their mind about Obama on either side.
Total waste of time.
Bob Grant| 10.3.12 @ 9:07AM
I agree it was overhyped but you have to admit it will definitely excite the base but just might give pause to those who plan to vote for him simply because he's the incumbent and don't want change at this time.
Having said that, it also might excite HIS base as well.
Overall, it think it was good to report on the tape but bad to over sell it.
A net plus.
canuckistani| 10.3.12 @ 2:28PM
Sure was. This was reported 5 years ago and was a public forum. What he said was nothing new, a pretty much true, knowing what we know about public policy.

Sorry, “is just another phony politician” is too soft. He is actually the most deceitful person who has ever occupied the Oval Office.
I thought that Clinton was bad. He was just a phony. This guy is what we used to call a “Grin F---er”. All the while he shakes your hand, with a grin on his face, he is trying to stick you where the sun don’t shine.
Doctor Right| 10.3.12 @ 8:04AM
I wasn't shocked by what I saw, and I didn't think what he said was all that shocking, either.
What I found most revealing was that Hannity conveniently sidestepped the fact that in April of 2007, the provisions of the Stafford Act had NOT been waived to help rebuild New Orleans.
In other words (and God help me), Obama was right:
1. Stafford was waived for NYC after 9/11
2. Stafford was waived for Florida after Hugo
3. Stafford was NOT waived (as of April, 2007) for New Orleans.
Was it racism? No...more likely bureaucratic ineptitude. But that doesn't discredit the claim.
I did a little digging on Google and found that in 2010, Mayor Nagin was still wrangling with the Feds on Stafford. If accurate, that's the REAL story, because who was POTUS in 2010??
If I'm incorrect about these dates, p,ease let me know.
oldeham| 10.3.12 @ 8:43AM
What you are leaving out is the the States FIRST have to ask for help. Also the waver applies to the States contirbuting $1 for every $10 the Feds put in.
The whole point is that there was plently of warning, plenty of signs when Katrina was still out in the Atlantic that this was going to be the BIG ONE and Blanco and Natin did NOTHING to help themselves.
Sure FEMA did a lot of things wrong BUT what did the States do to help themselves?
Katrina was also the largest natural disaster, to date, to hit this country covering a massive geographical area of close to 90,000 squares of the country. That, my friend, is an area as big as all of the United Kingdom. But the only thing that seems to be important is New Orleans?
Should Waveland MS been ignored for New Orleans, LA? What is the equality of that? At least the Governments in MS and AL were smart enough to tell their people to get OUT.
Bill8472| 10.3.12 @ 2:06PM
I'd say the largest natural disaster to hit this country was the Dust Bowl.
Then there was the New Madrid earthquake and the San Francisco earthquake and fire.
But that's just me.
canuckistani| 10.3.12 @ 2:40PM
Yeah, and what happened? Massive population movements and generations to repair the damage.
The Dust Bowl was a glaring testament to the flaw in short-term scorched earth thinking.
It took massive government intervention and loans to support the affected and underwrite credit for farmers seeking to rehab their farms and diversify their crops. The plains states, now happily deluded into red-state thinking owe their very existences to government handouts. Ironic.
NOLA experienced the same thing. Sometimes problems on such a massive scale need a collective response. A simplistic Randian approach fails every time.

Nagin was testifying before Congress to get help in 2010, so CLEARLY aid had been requested.
CJW| 10.3.12 @ 5:18PM
If Obama wanted to help the New Orleans residents he, as a Senator, could have pressured FEMA and other agencies to move quicker.
Obama had no problem requesting an earmark for the Chicago hospital that gave a raise to Michele from $100,000 per year to $350,000 per year, so he knows how the system works.
Instead of helping he give the blacks a speech in a southern accent telling them the feds do not care about them because they are black. That really helped everyone in New Orleans.
benny havens| 10.3.12 @ 7:29PM
The Senate passed the Stafford Act waiver for N.O. two weeks before this speech.

Anyone, anyone who builds and maintains a city below sea level is asking for it. And if you live in that city, well, you're asking for it too. And worse, the politicians, not school bus drivers obviously, left the city pronto when the going got tough. The mayor of a city below sea level is a man with a death wish. Nagin told the refugees to seek shelter in the super dome, which wound up being an island of misery in the whole mess, and shooters and looters ran rampant getting what they could, not to mention the disarmament of law abiding citizens. In a disaster you need the "man" (Nagin) to be on the scene. Otherwise, without someone in authority to ask for help, it ain't going to come. It's very convenient to blame Bush for New Orlean's drowning. It makes a good speech, but that's about all. Obama used the whole thing to criticise Bush, and he's been blaming him ever since for everything. It's getting old.
Butch| 10.3.12 @ 2:21PM
It is common for 9th Warders to not evacuate during a hurricane threat. They view it as a looting opportunity. I was raised in Louisiana.

Remember “The Lone Ranger”?
A regular ending had someone saying, “Who was that masked man?”, as he rode off into the sunset after saving someone’s bacon.
Well, in Obama, we ALSO have a “lone ranger”, except he’s the one TAKING all our bacon!
And, of course, he’s as covered in “masking” tape as could be, at once holding himself together, AND hiding his real identity.
One of the reasons “The Lone Ranger” was fresh, I suppose, was that before him, only criminals wore masks, especially robbers. Who would have to hide their face, except bad boys?
And, these days, we have a whole “culture”, Islam, that considers half its members as cattle---women must wear masks, as they “disappear” in public.
Obama as the masked robber , Islam as the masked religion.
Hmmm? Do I sense a theme, there?

As more and more we begin to see who this man really is, we should not be surprised. He told us he would "fundamentally transform America"; he followed Bill Ayers; he respected " Rev. Wright"; he sees everthing through the prism of race. Whether for political advantage or conviction doesn't matter.
What we have is a man prepared to "rule" should he win re-election. He will be more "flexible" in dealing with real and potential enemies around the world while shunning our friends. This is a most dangerous game for the United States. Either we must find our way back to the fundamentals of our government or move on into an uncertain future with Ceasar or Bonaparte ruling and the citizens only subjects.
Pecos Pete| 10.3.12 @ 9:45AM
Al, and we are supposed to smile all the way to the government food store to collect our weekly ration of veggies. No more bacon or other meat, unless it is lamb, or maybe a dog shank now and then.

Vic| 10.3.12 @ 12:25PM
Wow! This is a real game changer, even more so than Romney's 47% freeloader comment (which BTW is a fact). Obozo comes across as the real Black Racist that we always suspected him of being. Asides from pitching state vs state and city vs city he also pitched White suburbs against Black ghettos by saying these ghettos need better roads and infrastructure. Did he forget a vast number of suburban Whites are his voters?

I am sorry but you are all wrong. This video will have no effect at all. This time next week no one will remember it.
This will happen for two reasons. Romney will not draw any attention to it. Did McCain draw any attention to Wright in 2008? Secondly and for the most important reason, the press will discredit it and suppress it. Without Romney making it an issue, it will fade away. However, one can hope!
RCV| 10.3.12 @ 11:39AM
Desperation time for the GOP! Digging up old clips will not get you to the White House because the American people have seen the disdain which the GOP has for them.
Anthony| 10.3.12 @ 12:03PM
Well RCV, at least you didn't call playing an Obozo clip racist, like many brain dead leftists are braying.
Yep, it's clearly racist to hold Obozo to his own words, or so Saul Alinsky told your lefties to say when the shit hits the fan.
But you sure as hell have nerve when it comes to calling the kettle black about who truly distains the American people; when it comes to hating America and Americans, you lefties have it...... dare I say it...... in spades!
RCV| 10.3.12 @ 2:05PM
I have absolute confidence, Anthony, in the American people and their judgment. Unlike you on the right, I don't consider them "stupid". I don't consider them to be "lazy moochers" or "parasites". I love this country deeply and don't spend all day like you on the right bemoaning what it's become. It's the greatest civilization in history and will continue to be whether Mitt or Barack is elected.
Anthony| 10.3.12 @ 3:47PM
RCV, You're so full of it; folks like you despise any American that does not wish to become a ward of the leftist Obozo state.
Furthermore, you don't fool us with your use of Alinsky's rules of accusing your enemy of what you are guilty of.
You folks are the elitists, the snobs, the ones who distain individuals making their own decisions, be it food, cars, smoking, lightbulbs, soft drinks, or where to live, not us, fool.
If you truly believe that following Obozo's and the left's political prescriptions for radical departure from the Constitution, redistribution, and the elimination of the United States as a superpower, you are truly delusional, or a true believer.
Great civilizations are not guaranteed longevity; they only survive if the people maintain their vigilence, common sense, and civic responsibility to be educated and knowledgable.
"It's a Republic, if you can keep it". Benjamin Franklin commenting about the new Constitution and the people's responsibility therein.
jdondet| 10.3.12 @ 12:28PM
You may be right that in certain corners of the GOP there is desperation and that explains the release of this tape. However, your second statement about disdain, I am damn tired of the various labels used by the left to describe the right.
Never mind the misery inflicted by the great figures of the left, which populate the pages of history. Never mind the disdain that was shown by these characters for their fellow countrymen and mankind at large. No we must move forward to an impossible vision but we cannot admit that it is impossible to achieve. Disdain for the truth, because the truth is you cannot make heaven on earth. Why? Because the authors of these utopias are very flawed human beings, that is why.
But let us just stay with our current dear leader and just a few items. Think of the disdain, he shows for the rule of law. How he picks and chooses what laws to enforce and not enforce. The disdain he shows for privacy of the individual. Spare me Bush and the Patriot Act; Bush never had drones flying over our country for surveillance. Who are they looking in upon? What this video really shows is this man should have never came in from the fringe and then given a national office.

John II| 10.3.12 @ 2:13PM
Roberto, if you're curious about disdain, read Alinsky's "Rules for Radicals" and taste some REAL disdain.
The creepy dedication to Lucifer, apparently inspired by a narrowly romantic image of Mephistopheles in "Faust," sets the tone for the whole creepy book: disdainful of "idealism," disdainful of truth, disdainful of humans and their condition (what is there about the Left's concern for "humanity" that always entails such bitter hatred and disdain for individual human beings?), disdainful of honest relations, disdainful of life, disdainful of existence itself--in short, a Satanic paean to nihilism.
It's probably the most influential book ever skimmed by the disdainful Professor, whose literary influences are easy to trace. He's not much of a reader.
And now back to "The Bad Seed" (1956), based on the chilling Maxwell Anderson play, in which an eight-year-old girl, without apparent motivation of the shallow psychological sort, is so filled with disdain for other humans that she makes it a hobby to torture and kill them. Patty McCormack was nine when she played the part on Broadway and eleven when she reprised the role on film. She'd be old enough now to play the disdainful Hillary Clinton.
Frank Drackman| 10.3.12 @ 2:14PM
wasn't that girl in "The Bad Seed" hot???

John II| 10.3.12 @ 10:18PM
Actually, no. You must be thinking about the cheesy 1985 remake.
RCV| 10.3.12 @ 2:30PM
Why would I waste my time reading Alinsky's drivel? The only ones who read that crap today are you guys!
John II| 10.3.12 @ 10:37PM
Because it's not precisely a waste of time (albeit surely rather wearisome and painful, as I can attest) to explore the principal influences and willing mindset of a colossal narcissist placed by an addled culture in a position of sufficient power to weaken the nation so severely as to effectively destroy it.
What do you think "fundamental change" means, Roberto? Read Alinsky to find out.
The larger question, of course, is why humans are so deeply spoiled by prosperity as to wish to destroy the prosperity--and themselves in the bargain. The late Pope John Paul II (from whom you may have noticed that, with adjustments, I cribbed my nom de internet) called it "the culture of death." The Professor, of course, has emerged as its most energetic avatar.
The Democratic Party you remember so fondly from your youth, Roberto, is now called the Republican Party. The former has morphed into something destructively imbecile, an agent of the dark powers.
And now back to "The Exorcist" (1973), a prescient parable anticipating the real needs of the Professor and his troubled retinue.

The video shows Obama prasing his racist, anti semitic, anti American minister that counselled hm and Michele for 20 years. Then the next year Obama says he never heard any sermon or anything else from Wright for 20 years.
You have no way to explain Obama lying so the only recourse is to say the 2007 video is old?
It is relevant and timely because it shows Obama as a liar and opportunist which is consistent with his pattern of lying in BenghaziGate and Fast and Furious.
Obama will be back in Hawaii next year permanently, and Biden will be writing his book on how the middle class got buried during the past four years.
