Obama to Jihadists: Be Nicer

He appeared on The View and at the UN to offer sermonettes on civility.

In the first few decades of the country’s history, presidential candidates didn’t even campaign, seeing the act of shilling for votes as inherently undignified. Surrogates would campaign on their behalf. Now presidential candidates not only campaign but seek out the stupidest shows to retail their demagoguery. “It is dying but it laughs,” the Romans said of their disintegrating empire. Obama’s America is dying too as it laughs with Whoopi, Joy, and Dave.

Low comics have become presidential vetters and late-night talk shows have become places of refuge after a terrorist attack. Between the back-slapping and guffaws, Letterman asked Obama if “an act of war” had occurred. Obama deflected the question, launching into a sermonette on how the Islamic world needs a slight attitude adjustment. Try to be nicer in the future, was the sermonette’s essential message.

This week he kept up the patter on The View and at the UN. It is a toss-up as to which forum was more fatuous. His UN speech was hailed as a robust defense of free speech. Never mind that his administration tried to suppress the “Innocence of Muslims” video and sent police to the filmmaker’s home on “unrelated” charges, hauling him off so that it could blast pictures of his arrest to North Africa and the Middle East.

“The strongest weapon against hateful speech is not repression, it is more speech — the voices of tolerance that rally against bigotry and blasphemy and lift up the values of understanding and mutual respect,” said Obama, who is on record supporting “hate-crime” legislation that would ban politically incorrect speech in the public square.

The real reason Obama doesn’t suppress free speech is that he can’t get away with it. At least not yet. As he wistfully noted in his speech, “at a time when anyone with a cellphone can spread offensive views around the world with the click of a button,” government regulation of free speech is simply impractical.

But such musings didn’t stop him from contacting YouTube to take the video down. He remains convinced that the source of Islamic terrorism is not centuries-old jihadist theology but Western provocation, and that if he just delivers a few more kindergarten-level instructions on anger management — “there is no excuse for violence” and so on — the problem will disappear.

Desperate to keep his “Bin Laden is dead” boast intact, he can’t even bring himself to use the word “terrorism.” To the ladies of The View, he only allowed that the Libyan debacle wasn’t just a “mob action” and that “threats” still exist.

He emphasized that the terrorists represent only a minor “strain” in Islam. This is a lie, and not even a particularly flattering or useful one, as it invites the question: Is the U.S. really so weak that a tiny fringe can kill its diplomats and storm its embassies? For some reason Obama thinks the humiliation is lessened by arguing that the culprit was not a giant but a pipsqueak.

And he seems to think that this little band of jihadists will lay down their arms now they have seen his “disgust” on The View and heard his respect for “the Prophet” at the UN.

Notice that both Hillary Clinton and Obama have taken to referring to themselves as “believers,” of what it is not clear, apparently thinking that that somehow improves their credibility in the eyes of jihadists, as if to say to them: We are not just rotten secularists, so listen up when we tell you that violence is no answer to blasphemy.

Jihadists torching the American flag on embassies and replacing it with the black flag of radical Islam don’t appear to be in the mood for such lectures. But Obama kept trying at the UN, encouraging members to model their behavior after his measured response to “awful” insults, adding as a curious aside that “Like me, the majority of Americans are Christian, and yet we do not ban blasphemy against our most sacred beliefs.”

Which sacred beliefs would those be? On multiple occasions, Obama has criticized the Bible, referred to Jesus Christ as “a” son of God (not the Son of God), dismissed St. Paul as “obscure,” and called Abraham a nut on whom he would have called Child Services. Moreover, most of the anti-religious blasphemy comes from Obama’s Hollywood pals, such as Da Vinci Code star Tom Hanks, who considers opponents of gay marriage “un-American.”

It is an election year, so Obama has to fake up a certain level of piety. On his campaign website, he now calls himself a “committed Christian” and has rolled out a four-minute ad on his outreach to “people of faith.” But the key religion on his mind is Islam, whose adherents don’t typically watch The View or take civility lessons from the UN.

Here's what our policy to Islam should be:

1) Tough military reprisals for any terrorist acts and I mean tough, lightening fast strikes and then LEAVE - no help, no nation building, let them live in huts.

2) Stop or greatly reduce Muslim immigration into our country. Why? Because first, we are not obligated to accept half the world's population and secondly, the more Mohammedans we admit, the more Sharia Law is spread to Anytown, USA. Also, restricting their immigration will piss them off and be a good punishment for their caveman-like behavior.

3) Do less business with the Islamic world. We have a HUGE amount of natural gas, plus crude oil and coal right here in our nation. Let's use it. Lets produce our own energy and buy much, much less from the world at large. Automobiles can run on converted natural gas.

Comments?

Pecos Pete| 9.27.12 @ 7:51AM

I agree with #1 and #2. Strongly agree with #1.

Agree strongly with #3 except would have preferred you not include the last sentence, which while true, is a distraction in relation to the basic point that the USA can produce all of its energy needs if the government would get out of the way.

dickdata| 9.27.12 @ 1:42PM

We USE about 25% of the world's oil production. We PRODUCE about 9% of the world's oil production. We HAVE about 3% of the world's oil reserves.

TLP| 9.27.12 @ 7:02PM

That was definately a buncha Dick Data, written by an obvious Dick.

sotto voce| 9.27.12 @ 7:19PM

dickdata, I have two words for you: Bakken Formation. Try Googling it and see what comes up.

Bob From District 9| 9.27.12 @ 6:39PM

The government is not stopping oil production, the oil companies are. It's more profitable to buy it overseas.

Ask yourself, why does the US export *ANY* oil? Yet we are a major exporter.

The oil companies have no allegiance to the US or any other country. They are their own world power.

And Bush was their enabler. Romney will follow his footsteps.

TLP| 9.27.12 @ 7:03PM

Bob's absolutely right.

There is no Drilling Moratorium.

Oh, wait.

There is.

Where do these @ssholes come from?

merlin| 9.27.12 @ 9:20AM

btims86,

I agree. And if we become the leading producer of oil and natural gas, the military strikes could be on their oil wells. Double the benefit.

Bob From District 9| 9.27.12 @ 6:35PM

How does 3% of reserves allow us to become the leading producer?

Even the natural gas won't accomplish that.

TLP| 9.27.12 @ 7:06PM

Merlin.

Contest, tomorrow.

Be there, or be Bob from a Gay Bar in District 9.

Wherever that is.

I'm thinking it's in Purp's house.

PCC| 9.27.12 @ 9:37AM

Did anyone else notice that President Obama chose his UN speech to be the ONE time he wore cufflinks as a sign of the seriousness and respect he accords to the putrid body he was addressing?

Bob From District 9| 9.27.12 @ 6:34PM

Cuff links are a sign of seriousness and respect? Is that a Mormon thing, or are you just one of the .1%?

Never wore cufflinks on my uniforms, and we were serious as blowing up the world could be.

Harry the Horrible| 9.27.12 @ 9:50AM

We need to implement the Coulter Doctrine.
Invade their countries, kill their leaders, and convert the survivors to Christianity.

John II| 9.27.12 @ 10:33AM

Or just leave the survivors alone and look on with mild interest to see what they convert to on their own when their "leaders" are dead.

One of the many, many shrouded statistics not available to polling (and not of interest to the kinds of jackasses who now do American foreign policy) is the proportion of the world's two billion Muslims who would dump the "religion of peace" if doing so were not accompanied by the inconvenience of getting one's head cut off.

Pong2| 9.29.12 @ 9:22PM

Exactly!! Who wants to get their head chopped off?

Brian Richard Allen | 9.27.12 @ 2:59PM

Ms Coulter's too much the pacifist for my tastes!

Mike G| 9.27.12 @ 4:22PM

The only type of conversion they understand is: "Convert or we will cut off your head." The "prophet" taught them that.

TLP| 9.27.12 @ 7:07PM

Contest, tomorrow.

Alan Obama Fan Brooks | 9.27.12 @ 5:37PM

#1:
Learn Arabic.

Bob From District 9| 9.27.12 @ 6:41PM

What a waste of time.

Saudi Arabia is the only terror enabling enemy we need to worry about.

85% of Muslims are *NOT* Arabs.

You really have no idea what you are talking about.

Bob From District 9| 9.27.12 @ 6:53PM

I just learned something interesting. Michelle Malkin actually names Saudi Arabia as the sponsors of terror. Damn, I never thought I would find a right winger honest enough to do that.

She's still a narrow minded hate spewer, but she did get one right.

Pong2| 9.29.12 @ 9:17PM

I have urged your policy ever since 9/11. But that wimp, George W appeared on TV with members of CAIR to tell us that " Islam is a religion of peace". But Obama who is a secret Muslim has taken the nonsense even further by refusing to use the word Terror or terrorism in his references to obvious terror attacks. #2 won't occur in Obama's rule.

Appleby| 9.27.12 @ 7:02AM

We need a President who has seen more of the world than the bits he can see from his Five Star Hotel, and who has some sense of adult decorum when meeting with the world. Does Obama not realize that the "girls" of The View would be stoned to death in most Muslim countries for their filthy language and immodest dress? Not to mention their cavorting with a man not a relative, with no male relatives at hand? Why did you elect someone as leader of the free world who had never been out of Chicago?

David T| 9.27.12 @ 11:14AM

The reason we elected him was because he appeared to be a black man without the black man's rage. As Joe Biden said at the time, Obama was "clean, bright, and articulate." Other than that, we knew nothing about him. We have no excuse this time.

Minuteman78| 9.27.12 @ 3:27PM

I think a better three adjectives would be sociopathic, retarded, and Muslim.

It would be great to see Romney just fire a wild pitch off at Obozo during the debate, something like "whatever details my foreign policy would contain, it would NOT include ass-kissing the Terrorists." Watch little Barry try not to self-combust. That could be his "Reagan moment'. But I doubt that'll happen. Romney's running out of time to quit being McCain.

BTW, right on about the harpies on The View. Even if not stoned to death, the clerics would probably have their little love buttons removed, as they are so fond of doing to women over there.

Bob From District 9| 9.27.12 @ 6:30PM

"I think a better three adjectives would be sociopathic, retarded, and Muslim."

You just described Romney, only the last word is Mormon.

Bob From District 9| 9.27.12 @ 6:32PM

Are you that stupid? Or ignorant? Obama traveled widely before he even entered politics.

Hell, he was born in Hawaii, not Chicago.

Knowing I just opened the door for the birther nut cases.

TLP| 9.27.12 @ 7:09PM

If he was Born in Hawaii?

Maybe you can explain to the rest of us, why he has a CONNECTICUT Social Security Number?

Von Mises Jr| 9.27.12 @ 7:31AM

Speaking to the UN, Barry looked frightened or like a deer in the headlights hoping he did not say anything to offend the dictators who might take up their Jihadist chant of "Obama, Obama, we are all Osama."
He groveled and bowed escaping by a hair.

Pecos Pete| 9.27.12 @ 7:56AM

Everything Obama says is either a lie or an half-truth. No matter what he says, I believe he means exactly the opposite. Thus, I don't believe he is a Christian.

Maxwell| 9.27.12 @ 8:10AM

Either does Madonna, what did she just say. we have the first Black Muslim for President.

Brian Richard Allen | 9.27.12 @ 3:22PM

.... Neither does Madonna, who just asserted that she and all of her fellow dickheads, dawks, dullards, drongos, degenerates, dope-smokers and other "Democrats" have their first black muslim pretender to the "presidency" ....

Theirs. Not mine. Not ours. Not America's!

Bob From District 9| 9.27.12 @ 6:29PM

"pretender to the "presidency" '

Oh, GW Bush who was never legally elected.

Nick| 9.27.12 @ 12:58PM

I agree, Pecos Pete.
I don't believe O'Bama is a Christian. He, like all radical leftists, is an atheist.

Hardcard| 9.27.12 @ 8:42AM

obama is a moslem, if his name was barry soetero I wouldn't think so, if his name were Moe Schwartz, Gino Pistano, Paddy O'Bannion, Paul Pinkowski or Fred Mertz, what would you think?
Vote the moslem brother out of the White House.

Bob From District 9| 9.27.12 @ 6:28PM

And vote in the Mormon?

Vote in the one who believes Jesus was Satan's brother?

Vote in the one who believes Jesus was one of million's of Elohim's children?

Vote in the one who believes he will become a god and spend eternity having sex?

Ok, that last line doesn't sound so bad, but it sure as hell is not any form of Christianity I recognize.

Islam at least agrees there is one God. Islam agrees Jesus was a prophet. Islam actually considers Jesus a greater prophet than Mohammed.

What does Willard believe?

Louis Jenkins| 9.27.12 @ 8:58AM

He plays nicely with the Muslims doesn't he? He gets on the back of the Christians and won't let go. For Obama, speaking softly and not carrying a big stick, is right up his alley. And he claims to be a Christian? In America you can claim to be anything, and talk, talk, talk. Maybe he will bore them to death, but there's a lot of doubt. Going on the talk shows was made popular by Clinton I believe, so why not follow in the first black president's foot steps? I can't stay up late enough at night to watch those shows, and the View comes on after I go to work. But his supporters and those time tables seem to be perfect.

Buck Ofama| 9.27.12 @ 10:45AM

> the first black president's foot steps

Correction: the first M U L A T T O.

The best part of Ovomit the Mudslime ran down his mammy's hairy hind legs.

Anthony| 9.27.12 @ 9:09AM

Obozo lied.
The ambassador died.
It wasn't the video Obama,
It was you bragging on Osama.
Now the whole world knows what a dispicable liar you are.

John II| 9.27.12 @ 10:38AM

Catchy, Anthony. Except the correct spelling is "despicable." It's certainly the correct word--especially the way Daffy Duck pronounces it.

Anthony| 9.27.12 @ 2:10PM

No Daffy Duck intended, just my poor spelling, but you may be onto something. Sssssuffering Sssssuccotah.

Bob From District 9| 9.27.12 @ 6:23PM

You claim the death of Osama caused the murder of the Ambassador? Are you really stupid enough to think Al Qaeda and their hangers on would not kill our Ambassadors anytime they got the chance, with Osama dead or alive?

TLP| 9.27.12 @ 7:13PM

Actually it was the Spiking of the Football, about Killing Bin Laden, at his Convention, Dumb@ss.

Or, didn't you hear his Fellow Muslims shouting that they were "ALL OSAMAS"?

TeaPartyNow| 9.27.12 @ 10:33AM

He is dead on with this. Islam is as corrupted as American government. The religion isn't anything of what it should be to honor their profit. It has morphed into culture of abuse, much like the culture of abuse in America. America doesn't revolve around violence, we revolve around cultural marxism. But the outcome is the same. Mass degradation of society.

The American People are not capable today of self governing their lives or their nation. & only a group of desperate hacks like the "elect Romney at all costs" extreme bias right wing hate machine would criticize a guy asking Islam to go back to the civility of the profit.

Islam according to the profit, was not to build temples. They know this. They also know that their profit never wanted them to live the way that they do today. It is the people of Islam who fall short, not the religion itself.

& if any of you shove the bible down the throat of every American crowd claim superiority of the bible, you may be interested in knowing that the original bible was not as nice as the one today. Many chapters are removed from todays politically correct vesion.

John II| 9.27.12 @ 12:25PM

Slight emendation to one major point, aside from the numerous minor indiscretions of your illiteracy, Teepee.

Islam didn't "morph into" a culture of abuse. It started that way when Professor Mohammed united dozens of squabbling, murderous, degenerate Bedouin tribes into one gigantic degenerate and murderous killing-machine.

The squabbling resumed shortly after "the profit" died.

And now back to another astonished viewing of "The Message" (1977), an epic film about "the profit." The Muslim director was thanked for his cheesy tribute to Islam and "the profit" 28 years later when he was murdered by a devout follower of "the profit."

Appleby| 9.27.12 @ 11:56AM

The one lesson apparently nobody ever taught Obama is: Actions Have Consequences. Either be prepared for the consequences or don't take the action.

Bob From District 9| 9.27.12 @ 6:19PM

Does that mean something?

Vic| 9.27.12 @ 12:55PM

We are in the ubiquitos "Clash of civilizations" and Obozo is faltering. He won't use terms like "War on Islam" or even "Terrorism". I also haven't heard Romney address these issues forcefully and with the strength of character that someone like a Rick Santorum would have brought. No wonder his campaign in floundering. I urge him brush up his act and to not hesitate in using terms like "War on Islam" that the MSM consider impolite and reap the voter dividend.

Bob From District 9| 9.27.12 @ 6:18PM

Santorum is a narrow minded bigot. His Catholicism is the most shallow simplistic kind.

Islam consists of 15% Arabs, 85% of others all over the world. A war on Islam would be a war on many innocent people. Do we launch a war on Hinduism next?

Nick| 9.27.12 @ 8:41PM

There is only ONE kind of Catholicism, Bob.
The Catholic kind.

And, Mr. Santorum represents the teachings of the Catholic Church quite well.
Unlike the Catholics In Name Only, like San Fran Gran Nan Pelosi, JF Kerry, Joe O'Biden, or Teddy "The Swimmer" Kennedy (and the rest of the Kennedy losers.)

Gee, what do all of those morons have in common? Oh, yeah, they all belong to the democrat party.

Dakota BillG| 9.27.12 @ 12:57PM

I find it absurd that you say that if everyone who visited the site donated $1, it would exceed your annual budget, yet the minimum donation is $5. What gives? I was all ready to throw a buck or two in the kitty. Oh, and while Mr. Obama is no leader, his incompetence should bolster the numbers for the GOP and hopefully conservatives in the House, Senate and local governments, at least that's what I hope. And maybe next time around we won't try to pin our hopes on a moderate with questionable values. Or maybe we're just doomed.

Bob From District 9| 9.27.12 @ 5:54PM

"And maybe next time around we won't try to pin our hopes on a moderate with questionable values. Or maybe we're just doomed."

So, you are saying you are not supporting Romney?

Bill8472| 9.27.12 @ 1:20PM

Chuck Colson, when he was working for President Nixon, had the right idea about attitude in a framed motto he hung on the wall behind his desk: "When you've got them by the b**ls, their hearts and minds will follow."

Now we've just got to develop our own set and apply that motto to radical Islam.

Bob From District 9| 9.27.12 @ 5:53PM

"Now we've just got to develop our own set and apply that motto to radical Islam."

Not "radical Islam", but Saudi Wahhabi. Speak the truth of you have nothing to say worth hearing.

Saudi Arabia is the home of terror against the US.

dickdata| 9.27.12 @ 1:51PM

So the PRESIDENT dispatched the local police to the home of the ostensible filmmaker??? The President PERSONALLY called YouTube and told them to take the video down??? And the number of people engaged in violent rioting in Egypt, for example, was a TINY fraction of the population of Egypt - a few hundred or a few thousand in a country of more than 80 million. Conservatives need to get a grip and argue issues, not incidents.

BillS| 9.27.12 @ 2:10PM

Has anyone noticed the fact that when Gaddafi fell that there was major concern that all of the weapons held by his forces were unprotected and many fell into the hands of the Rebels. Typical of the Obama Administration, there is never any thought given to the unintended consequences. Using air power to support the collapse and the victory by the rebels, many of which now appear to be radical Muslims, the US did nothing to secure the weapons which now appear to have been used in the attack on the US consulate. Another stunning example of the brilliance of the Administration in dealing with Foreign Affairs.

Who could be really to blame for the current violence in the Middle East? The attackers were shouting " “We’re all Osamas, Obama. There are millions of us, Obama. There are millions of Osamas, Obama.” This strongly suggests that the constant spiking of the football by the President, the DNC, Biden with his "bin Laden is dead GM is alive" bumper sticker, could be real reason for the violence and murders not the movie or Terry Jones. The rapid response by the left to blame Governor Romney, the movie or Terry Jones is once again strong evidence that the mainstream media is totally in the tank for the President and is typical of the Administration's total refusal to take responsibility for anything that happens that does not support his presidency or the left agenda.

John II| 9.27.12 @ 4:31PM

If I were into conspiracy theory, I'd be tempted to suppose that the attackers were prompted in their chant by their handlers in order to give the Professor political cover for his pro-Islam sympathies. If so, it was a wasted effort for two reasons:

1. The Professor insisted on revealing those sympathies in his UN speech, because . . .

2. His colossal smugness, communicated through lefty cliches, is already one of the jihadists' most effective weapons.

Fascinating that his haggish secretary-of-state is already distancing herself her boss's clumsy efforts to blow off the atrocity as spontaneous mob action. I guess the old fraud has her eye on 2016.

Bob From District 9| 9.27.12 @ 5:51PM

Bush invaded Iraq and Thousands of Americans died. Bush had the Iraqi oil ministry well protected, but let the rest of the country go to hell.

There was no Al Qaeda in Iraq before Bush invaded.

Christians lived for thousands of years in Iraq, now most have fled, and the rest would like to.

So, where is your republican success?

He's telling the truth. The one thing he won't say, and you won't say, none of you will say, is:

The small segment of Islam that is the source of all terrorism that threatens the US is Wahhabi, and the home of terror against the United States is, Saudi Arabia.

Until you do everything you say is BS. You have nothing to say worth hearing until you speak the whole truth.

John II| 9.27.12 @ 9:01PM

The Indian Mujahideen are Wahhabist?

The Indonesian Jemaah Islamiah are Wahhabist?

The Filipino Sayyafists and Moroists are Wahhabist?

Gosh. Who'd a thunk it? Your posts are so informative, Bobby. I'm glad to have learned as well that the election of George W. Bush in 2000 was illegal. I mean, I didn't know that the Electoral College had been abolished before 2000.

Gosh.

And now back to the Disney version of "Alice in Wonderland" (1951), in which the great Richard Hayn does the voice of the snarky, know-it-all Caterpillar. My grandkids love it.

" On multiple occasions, Obama has criticized the Bible, referred to Jesus Christ as "a" son of God (not the Son of God)"

That is a Mormon belief. Just like Romney tells us he's a Christian, yet he will not discuss any of his beliefs beyond the most shallow.

So you have two candidates who see Jesus as *A* son of God.

Assuming you aren't lying about Obama, which, come to think of it, right wingers do all the time.

John II| 9.27.12 @ 9:05PM

"Assuming you aren't lying about Obama, which, come to think of it, right wingers do all the time."

Actually there's no need to lie about the Professor. The truth is already and increasingly too thick, too astonishing, and too damning.

Back to "Alice."

WolfHawke| 9.28.12 @ 11:52AM

Quote: "He [Obama] emphasized that the terrorists represent only a minor "strain" in Islam."

As someone who resides in the Middle East, I have to agree with Mr. Obama's statement. True terrorists who are willing to be actively violent are a very small strain in this region and condemned by many of their own countrymen. HOWEVER, Middle Eastern people are very emotional and easily believe what is fed them by their religious and/or political leaders. And once incited the mob-mentality takes over resulting in such actions as at the U.S. embassy. Thus it is possible for a tiny fringe to inflame the masses to act out of character. We see the same in the U.S. among those who are not taught to think for themselves: when the leadership of their fringe group speaks up they get violent, too (see e.g. Occupy), and so hundreds of people follow the whims of a few. I can't help but wonder how many of the people who engaged in the action at the embassy that day are now wishing they hadn't because they were swept away in the moment? I have a few friends where I live to whom precisely that could happen, because they emote before they think.
