Campaign Crawlers

No More Excuses

But that’s all Democrats are left with — when not in denial over what they did to themselves in Wisconsin.

Working with the Wisconsin GOP, the RNC ran joint voter contact Victory operations and opened 26 statewide offices. Since January, our volunteers made over 4 million voter contacts, more than the GOP did in the entire 2008 campaign and substantially more than Democrats and their union allies in this election.

We spearheaded a joint effort with neighboring states to drive grassroots supporters to Wisconsin, and we mobilized volunteers from across the country to get involved through our innovative online Social Victory Center and phone-from-home program.

In the process, more than 3,400 Wisconsin volunteers have signed up to help the party. And the data collected by door-to-door volunteers for Governor Walker was all promptly added to the RNC’s data center, thanks to the use of iPads, iPhones, and iPods.

This is no longer your father’s Republican Party, and Democrats have no excuse but their own miscalculations.

the GOP, hopefully, has learned the lessons of 2008: don't nominate someone who is content merely to be nominated, and don't bring a marshmallow to a hand grenade fight

TLP| 6.6.12 @ 8:07AM

And, just like that, they're out of Lipstick.

Just like that, nobody's buying their Bridges, anymore. Their excuses. Their Lies. Their B*llshit.

They have reached the point where they have gone to the Well (so to speak) too many times. Poked us in the Chest, one time too many. And looked in to the Camera and LIED TO OUR FACE, as our supposed Watchdog Media, cheered them on.

Like that last TICK down, on the Bomb Timer, last weeks' Jobs Numbers, and last night's Ass Beating, was a prelude to an upcoming Explosion. Time has run out on the Boy who would be Messiah. America's very own Louis the XVI and Marie Antoinette's time is just about up.

And, they know it.

The Defecits, the Debt, the Taxing and the Spending. Gays in the Military. Gay Marraige. Regulations. Gun Running. No Jobs. A Racist outta control Attorney General.

Muslim outreach by NASA. Muslim outreach at the FBI, the TSA, Homeland Security, and on the Apology Tours. Muslims are good. Muslims are great. And, the Catholic Church had better get it through their Stupid Heads, that THE ONE will decide what is Religious Freedom, and what is not.

Apparently, you CAN'T fool all of the people, all of the time.

Only the Blacks.

Ryan| 6.6.12 @ 8:25AM

Actually, there has been gains in every Presidential election among the black population, of about 1% for many years (Obama's percentage was about the same of Kerry's, but the trend has held true for several elections before that).

TLP| 6.6.12 @ 9:09AM

Obama's percentage was about the same as Kerry's?

Can I buy some Pot, from you?

The Boy King got about 98% of the Black Vote, last time around.

The Great Nautical adventurer - John F. Kerry - who never saw a Boat Tax or a Docking Fee, that he didn't love, and didn't AVOID Paying, himself, by having his Yacht built in New Zealand, and Docked in Rhode Island, did not get the Slavish turnout from America's Record Holders for the most consecutive years at Bottom Rung of the Ladder, while continuing to put the same people back in Office, every election.

Black Unemployment is huge. Black Youth Unemployment is at 50%.

Doesn't matter.

Don't care.

He's Black.

Now, where's my Free Stuff?

PolishKnight| 6.6.12 @ 10:14AM

I was watching a youtube video clip of the Bill Maher show where a leftist to interview lower class blacks on welfare and ask them about entitlements. The usually laughing audience of his show were silent as they saw a side (the majority!) of the Democrat electorate they prefer to pretend doesn't exist. Some blacks said that they didn't want to bother working for a living. Others said that they voted for Obama because he gave them stuff. And one said he didn't think he should have to work because America "owed" him.

At the end, Maher said "[the last guy] makes sense" about entitlements. It said a lot about Maher that white guilt/black entitlement is a fundamental notion of his party.

I had a conversation with a black manager about 20 years ago who remarked that when he was stopped by a policeman for obviously speeding, he tried to pull the race card and claim to be a victim of racial profiling.

And that's the bottom line. The Dems marxism has degenerated from any notion of economic class equality and is simply about race baiting and protecting their elite cronies. On the same show Maher said "I want to give the [ignorant, "stupid" lower class white republican] with no teeth "free" teeth via national healthcare" (audience laughter). But in reality, Maher wants most of the goodies to buy his electorate and reward his cronies. That's how it works and any working white guy or even enterprising minority sees this.

Al Adab| 6.6.12 @ 11:18AM

This represents a significant failure of the Left and Unions to impose their will. A news story has reports of busses coming from Illinois with people to vote against Walker being intercepted. If true, and it seems to be, it reveals the lengths the opposition, The Dems, will go to in order to retain their power. It will take great efforts everywhere this November to insure that the election is not stolen.

Will Romney use the same tactics against his opponant then as he did against the Republican rivals during the primaries? We need a street fighter and I fear we will nominate another "nice guy".

Alan| 6.6.12 @ 11:50AM

The ends justify the means, the leftists can't break any rules because in their world there aren't any.

lost| 6.6.12 @ 12:43PM

Voter fraud in Wisconsin? Not possible, you have to know your name to vote, what other name would you use? Yes that is all I needed to vote yesterday, do not need to know anything else .

Al Adab| 6.6.12 @ 2:57PM

According to reports circulating today, The Left, The Unions and The Dems are livid and threatening over the outcome of this election. Apparently those institutions no longer believe that we as Americans settle our issues at the ballot box. The question that raises is whether we could then define these groups as domestic enemies of the Constitution.

KennesawJack| 6.6.12 @ 3:27PM

Al, don't hold your breath waiting for Holder's DOJ to make a determination on that count.

Quartermaster| 6.7.12 @ 10:22AM

We are on the edge of a leftist insurrection. The question is, can they con enough people to join them in their idiocy?

irish19| 6.6.12 @ 11:41PM

I have heard this story elsewhere. Do you have a link perhaps? I'd like to send it to my brother who contends that voter fraud isn't a problem.

Ryan| 6.7.12 @ 11:51AM

Actually, Obama got 96%. Kerry had something like 90%, Gore 88%. My numbers were off, but they're not as dire as you are making them out to be.

I predict something like 94-95% for Obama, with a lower overall turnout.

Oldefarte| 6.6.12 @ 10:56AM

As usual, extremely well stated truth.....thank you!!!!!

Oldefarte| 6.6.12 @ 11:02AM

PS to TLP and PK: I've been around a long time and ahve said numerous times that if governmental welfare was entirely eliminated [except for the absolutely truely needy of course], that it would become the largest economic boost for this country possible. When one is on the verge of starvation, the WORK ETHIC becomes extremely important!!!!!!!

C'mon Man!| 6.6.12 @ 1:04PM

How right you are. Wish that would happen.

TLP| 6.6.12 @ 4:07PM

Hunger is a great motivator.

Black America was a Thriving Sector of the American Populace, until Johnson's Great Society got a stranglehold on them.

It's too bad that Black Politicians, and their White Liberal Masters, have made the decision that Black America is an Acceptable Loss, in their quest for power.

Too bad for them.

Too bad for everyone.

Doctor Right| 6.6.12 @ 9:09PM

Wow.

You are so insightful. Why don't you have your own show on MSNBC?

Robert| 6.7.12 @ 1:21PM

Insightful? That just about disqualifies him for PMSNBC.

Oldefarte| 6.7.12 @ 10:01AM

True, true and more true! It wasn't only the black politicians however, but the whole Democratic Party. Johnson's legislating [since JFK did not have the knowledge/political ability to] of the Great Society, the War On Poverty etc was simply the successful attemot to KEEP 'EM DOWN ON THE FARM so to speak. If they're entirely dependent upon government and uneducated from a pathetic public educational system, then you got 'em where you want 'em.....right in your political back pocket!!!!!!!!!

spike59| 6.8.12 @ 6:37AM

EXACTLY right-the Democrats have their plantation, with carefully cultivated rows of entitlement and resentment, maintained by their field hands in their various 'serfdoms of special interest/racial groups'...and use overseers in the Party and in the MSM to keep 'em all behind the barb wire of 'social justice'

The Democrats have, with regard to african americans in particular, woven a narrative that, on the surface, says, 'we're here to help you, we care'...but below the surface whispers 'because you're too ignorant, lazy, and inferior to take care of yourself'

Doctor Right| 6.6.12 @ 4:54PM

Hey, Timmy!

I was just reading some Shakespeare...MacBeth, actually...and one verse in particular made me think of you and your long-winded, cliche-laden diatribes:

"It is a tale
Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury,
Signifying nothing."

TLP| 6.6.12 @ 5:09PM

I think they call this: PROJECTION.

You should really get some help.

Seriously, you need help.

Doctor Right| 6.6.12 @ 9:08PM

Now THAT'S projection...

Robert| 6.7.12 @ 1:25PM

Fortunate for you doc, you can write your own sedative prescription. Was Barrett's defeat that traumatic? My sympathies!

Oldefarte| 6.7.12 @ 10:03AM

No doubt ol Shakes was a........DEMOCRAT!!!!!!!!

Jack in Wi| 6.6.12 @ 8:46AM

Walker did a great job. We got everyone to the polls. My 90 year old aunt who is a former government employee, who now collects 4 government pensions, went out to vote for Walker. My other aunt 86, also a former government employee also voted for him.

The problem for Romney in this state is his present warmonger foreign policy. In order to win this thing he has to moderate it and get rid of the neocons on his staff. The wars are a tremendous drag on the Republican ticket. He also needs someone like Scott Walker or Rand Paul to get out his consevative pro-life base. Sarah Palin did that for McCain. He needs to move for peace to get the independents and young people. He needs to move credibly toward a real pro-life conservative for vice President to get out the base vote. Walker won here by getting his base to storm to the polls. No one right now, is going to storm to the polls for Romney.

Shadow| 6.6.12 @ 9:03AM

They had better storm to the polls to vote against Obama or none of what happened last night will matter. The last three years are going to seem like a small appetizer if we allow Barack four more years.

Oldefarte| 6.6.12 @ 11:04AM

Amen....agreed!!!!!!!!!!

Jack in Wi| 6.6.12 @ 11:50AM

Romney has to give us a reason to storm to the polls. The reason has to be better then he isn't Obama and he will manage the evacuation of the Titanic better. He can't sound like Bush, and have no positive program, and expect people to vote for him. Right now he looks like more of the same. That won't sell in the states like Wi. That he needs to turn around. I have said for months no warmonger Republican can carry this state. That is why Romney polls well below Obama in Wi.

spike59| 6.7.12 @ 5:58AM

still haven't gotten over the crushing defeat of DrEarmark, the Tinfoil Hat Tinhorn, have you, Jackie??????

Here's the bottom line for November, and i'm going to state it in VERY plain terms that even a Rontard should be able to understand-but get mommy to help, if need be:

If you vote for ObaMao, it helps ObaMao stay in office

If you stay home and DON'T vote, it helps ObaMao stay in office

If you vote for a third pary candidate, it helps ObaMao stay in office

If you write in a candidate, it helps ObaMao stay in office

If you want to get rid of ObaMao, the only thing that will help that effort is a vote for Romney

It really IS that simple

Oldefarte| 6.7.12 @ 10:05AM

If you and yours need a REASON after the last three years, then I'd suggest a very good psychiatrist!!!!!!!!!!

Quartermaster| 6.7.12 @ 10:26AM

Yep. The choice is between a Libtard Kenyan, and a Libtard New England Mormon. What a choice!

The *ONLY* reason to vote Mittens is we might get lucky, but we prolly won't. Clint is on the button in this people. It doesn't matter what your delusions are.

Brooksifier | 6.6.12 @ 3:20PM

The Rove-Cheney administration was the cabal, not the Obama administration.

chuck| 6.6.12 @ 9:38PM

Go away troll. You have nothing to contribute here.

spike59| 6.7.12 @ 5:59AM

"If American workers are being denied their right to organize and collectively bargain when I'm in the White House, I'll put on a comfortable pair of shoes myself, I'll will walk on that picket line with you as President of the United States of America. Because workers deserve to know that somebody is standing in their corner." President Obama

Well maybe he will just give a tweet for you. What a leader.

Von Mises Jr| 6.6.12 @ 7:40AM

Perhaps the DNC stole all his comfortable shoes?

After 2010 and the Wisconsin recall, I think we have President "Shellac" Obama. His November coattails look like a ride to hell.

CJW| 6.6.12 @ 7:48AM

Von
He wore out his Air Jordans playing basketball with Reggie, his body man, and his golf shoes were uncomfortable.
A Romney landslide with a Republican Congress.

Von Mises Jr| 6.6.12 @ 8:23AM

If you are observant or listen to Rush, you can see BJ Clinton, Fast Eddie Rendell, Harold Ford Jr., Corey Booker, Duval Patrick all running for the exits. They finally figured out they are in deep do-do.
I don't know about you, but I must have gotten hundreds of emails about the Wisconsin recall asking for money and educating. Looks like the TEA Party figured out how to out Community Organize the Community Organizers. And our community is smart enough to learn and act efficiently and effectively. Touché'.

Joellen| 6.6.12 @ 9:09AM

Von, I wonder if they (Clinton, Rendell, Booker, etc.) did more damage than good. Why would any decent, America loving indivudal listen to these con artists? I pray that what Tim wrote is the true point - Americans have awaken and will not take this destruction of America lightly any longer.

CJW| 6.6.12 @ 9:36AM

Fast Eddie Rendell is a good barometer. He told Algore in 2000 to concede, and he agreed with BjClinton (good name!) that Romney has good business background.
Fast Eddie inceased the public pensions in Pa so we now have deficits.
Fast Eddie is a state version of Bubba, and Bubba appointed Eddie's wife to a federal appeals court judgeship.

cuban pete| 6.6.12 @ 10:06AM

"out Community Organize...."
Well said.

Von Mises Jr| 6.6.12 @ 11:29AM

I didn't know what the hell that meant four years ago. We all got one heck of an education.

Even we that understood what "fundamentally transform" meant didn't realized how entrenched the socialist are. But now we have got their number.

rightasrain| 6.6.12 @ 11:43AM

I take such pleasure in watching Bill Clinton struggle to say complimentary things about Obummer. His lips may say "Barack Obama has created jobs" but his face looks as if he just smelled a fart in church.

Anthony| 6.6.12 @ 12:24PM

Naw, more like Clinton's face looked as if Monica told her sugar daddy, not tonight dear, my doctor told me to lay off cigars for a while.

Oldefarte| 6.6.12 @ 11:08AM

He had better schedule in plenty of vacation trips to Hawaii and Paris [along with expensive numerous golf outings for Joe and himself], cause the gravy train powered by the taxpayers' dime will be up/finished in November [and he an Neely will be able to commerate with each other perhaps] !!!!!!!!

JimH| 6.6.12 @ 12:44PM

Comfortable shoes? Reminds me of Earl Butz's comment.

Albert Constantine Jr.| 6.6.12 @ 10:26PM

I expect that 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue qualifies as a heated rest room, and regarding the other Butz listed requirement, it has been suggested that the current POTUS is not interested in such an amenity.

spike59| 6.7.12 @ 6:02AM

not sure if Reggie Love qualifies as 'tight'

Brooksifier | 6.6.12 @ 4:52PM

"After 2010 and the Wisconsin recall, I think we have President 'Shellac' Obama. His November coattails look like a ride to hell."

Then you can give us four or eight years of Romney's empty suit? thanks EVER so much.

Truth to Power| 6.6.12 @ 6:18PM

Get used to the idea.

drudge ette obama| 6.6.12 @ 6:35AM

It is implausible that the same people who escaped their "progressive" cradle to grave training to vote against the public sector unions would admit to vote for Obama over Romney. It makes no sense.

Congratulations to the GENIUS who had Scott Walker use the "Move Wisconsin Forward" over and over...it takes the wind out of Obama's "Forward" tag line for the 2012 campaign. Wouldnt be surprised if all that changed. Obama, how about "Downward" or "Outward"?

Mimi | 6.6.12 @ 8:24AM

d.....If they feel they will be labeled RACIST it makes sense. What people do in the privacy of the voting booth may be the opposite
" Downward or Outward"...perfect, says it all!

SCM| 6.6.12 @ 9:46AM

Wisconsin's official state motto is, simply, "Forward". It is also the name of the gold-draped lady atop the dome of our capitol (although she is commonly incorrectly know as "Miss Forward").
Walker's use of that word is perfectly appropriate and made a lot of sense to Wisconsin voters. Obama's use of it as a campaign slogan is more in line with the Marxist/Soviet heritage that it has, as other have commented upon.

Anthony| 6.6.12 @ 10:16AM

Thanks for this explaination. I confess, I did a double take last night when I say the "Forward" on Walker's podium sign.
I hope all the lefty vermin pick up their trash and take it with them when they leave Wisconsin today.
What a relief for you folks!!!!

DTOM| 6.6.12 @ 6:37AM

Ross:

Quick fact check, only three Senators survived recall. The union stronghold of Racine elected the do-nothing-but-spend-your-tax-money-on-my-friends John Lehman over the incumbent Van Wanggaard by some 780 votes of 72,000 cast.

Other than that - in Wisconsin we play a lot of golf and as grown-ups mulligans are not appreciated here.

Don't Tread On Me!

KennesawJack| 6.6.12 @ 7:50AM

DTOM, Looks like a recount in that race, for sure. Less than a 1% margin and, once they determine how many resurrected dead Dems crawled out of their graves long enough to get to the polls, we may end up with a sweep.

CJW| 6.6.12 @ 8:13AM

K Jack
There is a black Toyota with Cobb County, Kennesaw license plates in my township, outside Pgh, that I have seen several times, last week parked in front of the liquor store. Have to meet the driver.
"W"

KennesawJack| 6.6.12 @ 9:58AM

Leave it to us Georgians to know where to park.

Bill84728| 6.6.12 @ 10:16AM

Not to change the subject or anything, but do you know why Georgians changed the name of the town Big Shanty, Georgia to Kennesaw? And why is Kennesaw spelled with two n's now, when it started out as Kenesaw?

Bill84728| 6.6.12 @ 10:18AM

And one last question: do you know what the connection, if any, was between federal judge Kennesaw Mountain Landis the Baseball Czar and Kennesaw?

KennesawJack| 6.6.12 @ 2:40PM

Bill, a fellow named Sherman came through here in 1864 and decided to have a barbeque. He used the town of Big Shanty to make the fire to cook it and that pretty much put an end to the town. When the town was being rebuilt (after the War for Southern Independance), the people who lived here decided to rename it after the mountain which had become famous for a major battle of that war. The town was never spelled with only one "n". Kenesaw Mountain Landis' daddy fought in the Battle of Kennesaw Mountain (he was from Ohio, I think) and was wounded there. Apparently he named his son after the site of the battle and it was he who misspelled it.

Ross Kaminsky| 6.6.12 @ 9:23AM

DTOM,

I wrote the article last night when that senator looked well ahead, but took out the reference to winning all 4 senate races this morning when rechecking the results.

I hope a recount changes the results of that particular race, though I'm not optimistic.

Al Adab| 6.6.12 @ 11:21AM

Good to have you back after so l0ng.

Ross Kaminsky| 6.6.12 @ 11:43AM

Thank you, sir. It is good to be back. I've been taking a break from writing for a couple of weeks, and traveling with my kids (giving my wife a break from me and them!)

I actually quit daily blogging over at my own site so I could focus more on work and my family, so most of my writing will be here.

Drunken Sailor| 6.6.12 @ 2:52PM

Bet it brought your blood pressure down. Don't worry jack will bring it back up in no time.

TLP| 6.6.12 @ 4:11PM

Did you happen to keep an accurate count on the number of Flies on your face, and on the face of your poor wife, while vacationing in your latest Third World Hellhole?

I'm just saying.

What a Putz.

Ross Kaminsky| 6.6.12 @ 5:33PM

I never thought of Charlotte, NC as a "Third World Hellhole," but I did get a couple of mosquito bites.

You're a bitter little man, Tim. How about you vacation where you like, and I'll vacation where I like?

Occam's Tool| 6.6.12 @ 8:27PM

It's good to have you back, Ross. What's with all the sniping here? I thought we had Dhimmis and Paulbots on one side, and humans on the other. Now I'm watching people I've agreed with a lot shoot each other. What the hell?

Believe it or not, I generally like to be nice to people, unless they are Packer fans or Paulbots. Can't abide Packer fans or Paulbots.

I hope you had a nice time in NC, although anytime after May starts and before late September is a terrible time to visit the South and a great time in the Great White North.

spike59| 6.7.12 @ 6:05AM

Charlotte is a LOVELY place; i'd advise checking out the local symphony orchestra and ballet

yep, they got brand-new washboards and jugs, and the clogging shoes have all been re-soled

SCMike| 6.6.12 @ 7:52AM

Nice report, Walker’s victory was a good start. Isn’t there some song that start’s “On Wisconsin, on Wisconsin..”?

Alan| 6.6.12 @ 7:58AM

Like the dinosaurs that they are public sector unions just had their extinction event and the big asteroid impact area was Wisconsin and the shock waves will be felt all over the country. Devastating defeat for what should have never been legal in the first place. Having been a member of the USW(two locals), UAW, Seafarers International and National Maritime Unions, I can say I never had a positive experience with any of them.

Louis Jenkins| 6.6.12 @ 8:23AM

Congradulations to Gov. Walker. Pooh to you Democrats, even those who rode buses from out of state to vote in the recall. Yes, there was a report out yesterday about buses coming from outside the state and they were full of Democrats getting many free things, including meals. Too early to say that Obama will not win, but this is a plus in the Republicans books.

Alan| 6.6.12 @ 8:38AM

I just hope Walker doubles his security detail, as we know what happens when Union Thugs are denied their ability to thug at least from a semi-legal standpoint(as in fixing elections and voter fraud).

Shadow| 6.6.12 @ 9:07AM

There were threats of violence on Twitter last night and some called for his murder. I'm sure there isn't anything to worry about though, Eric Holder is taking care to be sure all is well.

Alan| 6.6.12 @ 9:48AM

Oh of course, I'm sure the death threats started the minute he was declared the winner. Whats new here? I would bet that the ACTUAL margin of victory was 10% or higher as the fraud percentage was at least 3-4% of the Union Schill's actual total. Zombies do exist, they had a Zombie apocalypse last night in Wisconsin when the dead arose to vote! Remember the Leftist plantation had months to oil and lube up the fraud machine.

Anthony| 6.6.12 @ 10:22AM

Wasn't the voting out of Madison 119%???

lost| 6.6.12 @ 12:54PM

It was expected to be 119% but was not. It was abnormally high tho. As one person from there said, "I see dead people"

Ryan| 6.7.12 @ 11:53AM

Apparently it can occur as well with provisional ballots or same-day registration.

And fraud. But I repeat myself.

Jack in Wi| 6.6.12 @ 11:41AM

There have been hundreds, if not thousands, of threats on Governor Walker's life. His whole family has been threatened many times. His house has been picketed on numerous occasions. This shows us what the Union movement thinks of the democratic process, when the voters dare to defy them.

spike59| 6.7.12 @ 6:07AM

well, at least we know where the next shipment of "Easy Eric's Fast and Furious AK-47's" will be headed

Mimi | 6.6.12 @ 8:38AM

Again the Dem's investing good tax-payer money for naught...more wasteful spending...typical! Maybe the PEOPLE should recall all of them for this luxury of bucking the idea that ELECTIONS have consequences..... and government by and for the people. Worship of power brings on arrogance to this degree!

Kingofthenet| 6.6.12 @ 8:40AM

So a recall election failed? So what? they usually fail, meanwhile the democrats won control of the state senate, and Nov. is a different ballgame.

c. j. acworth| 6.6.12 @ 8:48AM

Keep whistlein' past the graveyard your highness.

Alan| 6.6.12 @ 10:30AM

Careful CJ, whistling near graveyards in Wisconsin last night could have got you run over by Zombies who arise from the dead and vote for Democrats some of which probably voted for the first time since the Civil War.

Truth to Power| 6.6.12 @ 9:14AM

We have got to extend the Bush tax cuts and stop attacking the sterling record of Mitt Romney at Bain. That Bill Clinton is quite a spokesman. His visit to Wisconsin was at least brave. I mean he had to take time out of his busy schedule with adult film stars. No tweeting there. Maybe Barrett didn't want the big O in Wisconsin because he is too toxic. He would rather be seen with the "no fool like an old fool" Clinton than with a total O.

Bill84728| 6.6.12 @ 10:08AM

Do recalls usually fail? I didn't get that impression from CBS and ABC News.

lost| 6.6.12 @ 12:57PM

Walker is the first Governor make it past a recall.

AhiaBoy| 6.6.12 @ 10:24AM

Actually, King, if you'd listen to some objective news sources, instead of MSLSD which is in the same denial the article discusses, you'd know that Walker is the first governor to win a recall.

Boar Hunter| 6.6.12 @ 11:25AM

LOL! Kingofthenet is yelling Lalalalawith his fingers in his ears right now. "The election means nothing, NOTHING I SAY!!!!" "OBAMA IS STILL DOING WELL!!!"

You my friend are trying to talk sense to the senseless.

Enjoy the day. They will never rest until the wooden stake is driven through their hearts in every city, every county, state and, well November won't matter because Romney is Pres, but maybe if we continue to prove conservatism is a winner for those seeking office? Who knows?...Maybe next time.

Arbiter55| 6.6.12 @ 10:45AM

Ask Gray Davis about recall elections usually failing.

Ross Kaminsky| 6.6.12 @ 11:25AM

Actually, the only two prior governor recall elections in the US were both successful...

Crassus| 6.6.12 @ 11:26AM

Hey, Junior, the Wisconsin State Senate doesn't meet again until 2013. By then there will be another election and the Republicans could well take it back. Now GFY

Alan| 6.6.12 @ 11:58AM

Yeah, the "taking back control" is moot, as nothing is going on until next year anyway. The Unions threw eveything they had into this fray, Recalls, imported out of town thugs, a schill judge that got bitchslapped by the Wisconsin supremes for interfering, return of the voting dead, schill news media, and the result is unions are now a permanent minority in Wisconsin and has resulted in massive defections from people leaving the Uions who had the right to choose that option.

Drunken Sailor| 6.6.12 @ 2:54PM

They usually fail? Really? Then why is the recall Walker election the first time a govenor was not recalled?

spike59| 6.7.12 @ 6:08AM

oh, boy!!!!! they won control by ONE seat of a chamber that won't even meet until AFTER the next election...just keep whistling past the graveyard

Anthony| 6.6.12 @ 8:47AM

Scott Walker kicked ass with the help of thousands of Americans across this great nation that supported him with small donations.
When the left gets beat at their own game, the whining begins.
Obozo sticks his neck out for nobody!!! When will you losers finally figure it out??? He's a gutless, pampered coward in his last few months in office.
That lefty moron O'Donnell was left with whining about Citizens United last night, as Walker was walking away. Of course, big labor and all the time, money and energy wasted on this futile effort was not mentioned by Mr. Socialist.
But not to be outdone in the inane department, Sargent Shultz predicts a Walker indictment in the coming days.
Obozo and the left are toast, this is just the beginning. Walker showed the R establishment what a man with determination, guts, and balls can do.
Let's hope Romney and his D.C. braintrust, as well as crybaby Boehner get the message and act like men!!
It' time to take Obozo and Holder to the woodshed.

Boar Hunter| 6.6.12 @ 11:16AM

Hey, Hey, Ho, Ho, John Boehner's got to GO!

I read an excellent article on "Moonbattery" the other day concerning Boehner and the rest of the cowards in the Republican establishment's complete and utter failure to lead against Obama's fiscal madness.

fmm| 6.6.12 @ 8:53AM

Read that membership in the public unions in Wisconsin have taken a nose dive since Walker's reform where unions can no longer automatically take dues from paychecks. This is even a more important indicator of what people think than the results of the election and has long term ramifications for balancing union power.

spike59| 6.8.12 @ 6:45AM

that is the entire reason fo this recall madness; public service union membership has dropped by over 50%-when a similar change happened in Indiana, over 90% of the union membership bailes on the union-THAT cuts out a lot of Union Leaders' Mai-Tais on a Honolulu beach vacation

Ross Kaminsky| 6.6.12 @ 9:26AM

UPDATE: As noted in a comment above, the original version of this article said that all 4 Republican state senators up for recall had won their elections. That was based on the vote counts well after midnight Central Time. However, votes that came through during the night appear to have changed the result, with the Democrats picking up that seat, though there will likely be a recount. Thus I have removed the erroneous statement from the article.

Brian H| 6.8.12 @ 7:05PM

The spare ballot boxes in Dem car trunks come thru again...

Bill84728| 6.6.12 @ 10:07AM

Has anyone done a comparison of the extent to which Republican/conservative contributions to Scott Walker came from the grass roots, versus how much money for the Democrat Barrett came from there?

Bill84728| 6.6.12 @ 10:11AM

If the U.S. Department of Justice found it necessary to monitor the voting because of the Obama administration's concern over voter fraud, isn't that evidence that voter ID is a good idea?

Kwan| 6.6.12 @ 10:28AM

Evidently the sane citizens of Wisconsin could see the future that the Democrats and unions were going to win for them ( Your Democrat Party is "Winning the Future for the American People" ), and it consisted of being taxed out of their homes, and having the gold extracted from their teeth in order to pay the gold-plated wage, benefit, and retirement plans the public sector employee unions were being granted by Democrat Party hacks.

Boar Hunter| 6.6.12 @ 11:02AM

On the other hand, Springheel Jack below should know that the Unions outspent Walker. I don't see why Wisconsin State Unionized workers should have benefits Minnesota workers don't.

'But the lesson to learn is not the truism that money can impact elections'

And how much money did Walker's backers spend buying this election?

Oldefarte| 6.6.12 @ 11:14AM

As is said, it was MONEY WELL SPENT! Oh, perhaps you'd like to inquire also how many of those labor union domestic terrorists that initially invaded Wisconsin's capitol to protest WERE RESIDENTS OF THAT STATE? Sadly what should have occurred was authorities demanding a driver's license from each of them and thereafter jailing any non-resident for disturbing the peace [or simply deporting them back to their residence-state shown on their license]!!!!!!!!

Anthony| 6.6.12 @ 11:21AM

Oh boo hoo, Jackie boy. How's Obozo's $ ONE BILLION re-election campaign going, eh?
My small contribution to Walker was the best money I've spend since Scott Brown and getting rid of Tom Daschele. And I'm finally ready to send Romney some too!!!
Let's see, Obozo had 5 fundraisers in one day, just the other day, whew, this guy, when not shooting par, works like a dog raising money.
It's time for another Moochelle & Obozo exotic vacation on our dime.
Better hurry Obozo, Air Force One won't be available much longer!! Say good-bye to the nice man and his wifey, Jackie boy!!!

Crassus| 6.6.12 @ 11:30AM

Boar Hunter| 6.6.12 @ 11:33AM

The lesson to learn is that you libs are crybabies.

You are all liar's cheaters and frauds who resurrect the dead and buss in voters from other states because requiring ID would be racism against cockroaches.

You got outspent and spanked in the polls by an unprecedented margin. Republicans voted in numbers that exceeded your margin of fraud and the liberal medias biased polling data. Remind me again what the end tally was? Bwahahahaha!!!

Boar Hunter| 6.6.12 @ 11:35AM

How did you like the feel of that Tea Bagging Jack?

Anthony| 6.6.12 @ 11:57AM

Hee, hee, hee.....poor Jack ass, wondering how Walker "bought" the election.
The voting in Madison was 119%; hmmm, I guess that means the poll checkers in Madison do believe in Voter I.D. That is, if you have a union I.D. card, you can vote as often as you want, no matter what state you live in.
Gee Jack ass, what more do you lefties want??

Riff Raff| 6.6.12 @ 12:22PM

Iackus Londinium,
How much money did the Government Employee Unions spend trying to buy the election? Government Employee Union money comes from TAXPAYERS who are FORCED against their will to fund political causes they abhor through Unions who complain that not enough TAXPAYER money is spent on them. And please spare me that fatuous nonsense about how union dues are paid by members. Government Employees are paid from taxpayer money and from that comes union dues. Ergo, taxpayers pay union dues, which are used to buy votes for union causes and against the interests of the taxpayers. Government Employee Unions are an inherent conflict of interest and should be banned.

Truth to Power| 6.6.12 @ 1:09PM

Sorry. The usual off presidential election can usually count on labor pumping in a bunch of money and getting those government union thugs out to guarantee victory. 2010 should have taught you that this formula is not working and I wouldn't look for it to work for a while. We will teach you as many times as required. It is like Bill Clinton says. We need to extend that Bush tax cuts and not attack Mitt's sterling record.

Kingofthenet| 6.6.12 @ 2:05PM

Jack, let them have their 'VICTORY', it will be something for them to remember during the NEXT four years...when their Demons come.

Truth to Power| 6.6.12 @ 3:02PM

Albertus Magnus| 6.6.12 @ 5:07PM

“King”, you need to face reality. Obama is not a serious President, not a serious Presidential candidate, and not a serious intellect. He is a lightweight, quite frankly; a stupid person of no actual accomplishment. This is why he is so commonly referred to by various iterations of the moniker “bozo.” He has no credentials that we can examine, and no real abilities or knowledge. He knows virtually nothing of economics, is profoundly ignorant of history, has no historical perspective whatsoever, and is utterly incapable of learning about any of these things. Despite this, Obama is supremely arrogant and condescending, in a cartoonish manner, and is quite frankly the dumbest person in almost any room he enters. He not only can’t really DO anything, he can’t really understand anything, can’t explain anything, and is a very poor speaker, speaking as he does other people’s words, without conviction or even understanding. Why you and millions of others, have hitched all your hopes and expectations to this boob is beyond understanding.

FYI there is an informative editorial concerning the money spent on braitbart.com which tells the truth that the unions outspent the Walker forces in this ludicrous, unnecessary campaign!!!!!!!

Who Knows?| 6.6.12 @ 11:08AM

So, Big Duke (Sky) Walker survived the recall election.

Are there any other elections, of even half the importance of this one, before the Big Kahuna in November?

Taking the “see near things far, see far things near” admonition into account, it seems to me that just maybe this victory against public sector unions might be the inflection point in the long war between unions and their opponents. By now, people who know the vital statistics showing membership in unions continuing to fade away, except for in public sector unions, must be wondering how such a small percentage of the working class can continue to wield such vital power.

With the exponential growth of robotized manufacturing, coupled with the continuing growth of service instead of “hard labor” jobs in this country, logic portends the death of unions---or, at best, from their perspective, relegation to fringe status. The final abomination is public sector unions, which as FDR realized, is anti-American.

Just wait till all Americans find out that their hero, JFK, was responsible for their birth, by and large!

Put yourself in a labor leader’s shoes. They ALL share the attitude of some teacher’s union big shot, who essentially said that when kids vote, he’ll start looking out for their butts, instead of his REAL team members, teachers.

Oldefarte| 6.6.12 @ 11:18AM

Great article Ross....thank you!!!! To any/all bloggers here that are/were residents of Wisconsin, let me offer my sincere congratulation and thanks for a job well done yesterday. You should be rightfully proud of your state, your governor and Lt-Governor, and its people. Job well done!!!!!!!!!!!

cicero| 6.6.12 @ 11:22AM

With the Wisconsin election last night, it is becoming more and morte apparent that the Republican Party is being dragged to the right by the fiscal conservatives commonlhy known as the Teaparty. Maybe it won't be necessary to form a new party after all. With Lugar and his ild being phased out, the people are being given a real choice, and are taking it. The Progressives may be confused as to why their ideas aren't winning, but that is only because they are delusional.

Who Knows?| 6.6.12 @ 11:40AM

It’s all about the PUBLIC SECTOR unions, stupid!

What do crony capitalism, public sector unions, Tsar Putin, Yassar Arafat, the princelings ruling China, the “chick” running Argentina, et al have in common?

They are rip off artists!

They are proof, incarnate, in my judgment, of Narcissus in action---the very human condition of very un-evolved mankind, circa 2012, and to be honest, down through history.

“What’s in it for ME (and my friends and family)”?

Perhaps one could basically divide people into two exclusive categories---some make things, and some do not. (Also, each individual is sometimes making things, sometimes not.)

And, these high tech powered days, with machines doing much, or even most, of the work, the goal of “educated” people is to eschew the “tough” labor tasks, and train for the myriad “broker” ones. Ergo, lawyers, financial specialists, insurance salesmen, salesmen, etc etc, etc---not to TOTALLY demean any of those professions, mind you.

But, “brokers” is a word that seems to me to very well, at the core, describe the essence of a lot of jobs.

What’s the trouble with hairy brokers?

Honesty! The lack of freedom!

Who Knows?| 6.6.12 @ 11:42AM

All the super-broken “brokers”, such as public sector unions and crony capitalists, are wannabe kings or monopolists, trying earnestly to kill the competition. So, free markets are the answer---witness the recent history of declining stock broker fees, with automation and competition.

Maybe in 100 years, our school system will be privatized, as public schools go the way of unions, and students will be taught about the public sector “robber barons” of old.

Yes, we are living through future “ye olden tymes”.

To democrats and the looney bin comic shows MSNBC and CNN, it's predictive polling only when a democrat wins. I'm ecstatic that Scott Walker won, but there is no value to predict the Primary in November. Too many variables in a nationwide election. The only predictive value is the continuing lunacy of Obama.

David| 6.6.12 @ 2:10PM

Everyone seems to think that Romney is a sure winner in Nov.

I don't have such faith in the electorate which is by and large, ignorant on political issues. They can tell you the status of any of the weekly reality shows, but do not know sh_it about politics and which side supports what.

As long as the vast majority of people get their information from ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS, the NYT, Wash Post, LA Times, and even the WSJ (editorial page is conservative, but not the reporting), we have a tremendous uphill battle to get Romney (yuck) in the White House.

Add to the lying major media that:

47% pay no fed income taxes;
about 50% receive some sort of government assistance;
people on food stamps are about double from 4 years ago;
virtually all college students and faculty are liberal;
virtually all school teacher are liberals.

TLP| 6.6.12 @ 3:02PM

Meanwhile back in California. While Wisconsin voters decide to get their fiscal problems under control with commonsense fiscal policies, California voters put their faith in Alliwishes "Moonbeam" Brown to continue with the same failed bankrupt leftist policies that produced the post-apocalyptical city of Detroit.

cicero| 6.6.12 @ 4:43PM

While the percentages of those receiving a government check may be correct, those receiving it by way of Social Security and Medicare do not consider it a gift. They consider it a return for what they paid in.
Give me all of the money I have contributed into SS (along with my employers' contribution or my self employment tax), compounded by the percentage that the public pensions are estimated at (7.5%), and I will gladly never take another dime. As for Medicare, if you calculate your contribution at the 2.5% out of every dollar earned over your working life, you would have more than enough to pay your own insurance permiums until the day you die (ave. life exp).
These folks are not in the tank for the progressive party. They understand basic economics. They have lived it.

David| 6.6.12 @ 4:58PM

Cicero, I am not counting Social Security (retirement or disability) or Medicare recipients in my numbers, nor am I counting those with Medicaid, but I do consider Medicaid as government assistance.

David| 6.6.12 @ 5:47PM

TLP, a flat tax would be my second choice. First choice would be a consumption tax. That way drug dealers, millions of tipped workers, and titty dancers would all have to pay their fair share.

And maybe it would keep many of the folks getting all types of government aid from buying the big screen HD televisions and maybe settle for a 27 inch set, or it may keep them from buying the newest cell phone every time one comes on the market, etc., etc..

Kingofthenet| 6.6.12 @ 6:42PM

So I guess Bill Clinton 'Won' too when he wasn't removed from office? Heck of a win there pardner...

Riff Raff| 6.6.12 @ 7:40PM

Clinton's impeachment trial was not voted on by the public. Only by the Senate. It is doubtful that if (assuming it were legal) his impeachment trial HAD been voted on by the public, it would have passed, but then most Americans were ill-informed of the true nature of the charges against Clinton, and of his other crimes, treasons, and bribe takings, for which he was never impeached.

Albertus Magnus| 6.6.12 @ 7:42PM

Union membership among Wisconsin public employees has been cut in half, freed from the compulsory collection of dues by the State under Scott Walker's reforms. A curious mind wonders just what part of those increased funds former union members donated to Governor Walker, right? Sure a TAS reporter could look into this.

Brian H| 6.8.12 @ 6:48PM

The spending story ignores the $60 million the unions spent supporting Barrett. So, $47million for the GOP, $19 + $60 = $79 for the Dems, works out to ½ as much per vote for the GOP as the Dems (and supporters) spent.
