Miss Fluke’s Fluke

Instead of becoming more like Kirsten Powers, she’ll end up the next Gloria Steinem.

WASHINGTON — I like to think of Miss Sandra Fluke’s contretemps with the madly admired Mr. Rush Limbaugh as, well, a fluke. She objected to his joke about her being “a slut” and “a prostitute,” and hesto presto the part-time Georgetown University law student struck pay dirt. You object to my characterization of her as “part-time”? How could she be a full-time law student and still be appearing before Congress explicating the plight of co-eds with $3000 contraceptive bills or others suffering the heart-break of being rejected publicly at the pharmacy for insurance-coverage of a birth control bill? Then there was all the other media attention that came from Rush’s little joke. Yes, I see it as a fluke, defined by the Dictionary of American Slang as “a fortuitous accident.” Was not Miss Fluke felicitously named years ago before anyone ever thought of talk radio?

Surely Miss Fluke will now become an outspoken advocate for contraception, fighting the good fight for free birth control five decades after the development of the pill — could anyone have imagined the birth control pill’s ability to engender controversy 52 years after it became a staple of American life? Surely Miss Fluke will branch out, defending all kinds of gynecological innovations that trouble some, say, Catholics, or Southern Baptists, or secular humanists, who are skeptical of Obamacare. Perhaps she will become a champion of the manly condom. Of course, she will pronounce on abortion whatever her religious convictions. She will become a latter-day Gloria Steinem. But my guess is her season of splendors will be short lived. I mean, who is going to get exercised over birth control or other gynecological innovations in the 21st century? Once the election is over, and the Democrats have no need to corral the mindless women who fall for this claptrap, Miss Fluke will be back at law school immersed in the mysteries of contract law. Her moment of fame really was a fluke.

Yet, it did open my eyes and probably Rush’s too. Every few days for over two decades he has been hazarding a reckless joke and seeing how it plays. I have too. Now, however, an audacious woman, Miss Kirsten Powers, has shown us the rancor and absence of standards that diminish our public discourse. She says she is a Liberal, and I shall take her at her word, but she seems to me to be a very old-fashioned Liberal, one that does not flinch at the evidence.

Writing for the Daily Beast, Miss Powers has come up with a lot of foul-mouthed media personalities far fouler than Rush. I was not aware of their existence and I doubt Rush was. They lack wit and humor and they have no ideas, just irritable one-liners. In fact, after the desperate pursuit of an idea they settle for scurrility. Thus the physically disfigured Bill Maher calls Sarah Palin a “dumb t***” and a “c***.” He jokes about Rick Santorum’s wife using a “vibrator,” nothing about the immensely more humorous spectacle of his using a vibrator or even a dirty book. Miss Powers quotes some slug by the name of Ed Schultz as saying Palin set off a “bimbo alert,” and calling Laura Ingraham, can you believe it, a “right-wing slut”? Then there is Keith Olbermann wishing that right-wing columnist S.E. Cupp had been aborted by her parents and describing Michelle Malkin as a “mashed-up bag of meat with lipstick” — how very literary.

This is the quality of mind that holds forth on Liberal cable television. No one there objects to the gutter talk, which is hurled at conservative women. No sponsors threaten to pull their advertisements. That probably should not surprise me. I have been arguing for months that Liberalism is dead. Here is proof that it is brain dead.

Yet I cannot believe that this election is going to turn on the question of whether the federal government is going to pay for birth control procedures that have been around for 52 years. The Democrats are aiming at the moron vote, and let them have it. The real question here is religious liberty and the matter of choice. Should churches and individuals have to pay for medical procedures they do not approve of? The Democrats, the party of the straitjacket, says yes. The Republicans, the party of choice and of personal freedom, says no.

I have no problem with what Rush said or even left-wing commentators like Mahr and company.

I think there is much faux outrage going on. Plus, politicians need to know, if they don't want to be called names, they should have become accountants or plumbers. Also, women want to be "one of the boys", well stop whining about the name calling - men have had to endure worse than name calling over the years. This isn't early 18th century English countyside. Theren's no crying in baseball or politics.

The political class deserves contempt and ridicule. Period

Timothy L. Pennell| 3.8.12 @ 9:44AM

Let the Slut be the Face of the Democrat Party. Who better to represent a Party that calls Republican Church Going Women: C*nts. Tw*ts. B*tches, and Whores? She can get up on the podium with Bill Maher, everyone at MSNBC, the guy who actually IS a Teabagger, at CNN, and Mr. Woman - James Carville, because, after all, when a WOMAN brings a Sexual Harassment Case against a man for EXPOSING HIMSELF to her in a Hotel Room, after he sent a State Policeman to ask her to come up, then James Carville had no choice but to say about her: "She's a Gold Digger. She's White Trash. That's what you get, when you drag a Hundred Dollar Bill through a Trailer Park."

They can all stand up there with Sasha and Malia.

Obviously, the Democrats believe that Most Women, spend all of their Down Time, Going Down, like Miss Fluke. They believe that most women spend $3,000 a year on Birth Control. They believe that most women are more apt to be the entertainment at a Pregame Party, than they are to be Buying Gasoline and Groceries, and paying Electric, Heating, and Cooling Bills.

Like Bob Dylan said: When ya got nuthin, ya got nuthin to lose.

He cannot run on his record. He cannot run on any accomplishments. So he is left to court the SLUT VOTE. The WHORE VOTE, and the STD VOTE.

Let him.

The rest of us, will vote for the other guy.

scotchieguy| 3.8.12 @ 11:29PM

Like the author said, really he is going after the moron vote. It is a good strategy. Man, I am jaded. He will easily win when the masses have their heads up their a$$es. It was a nice run.

Margrave Koobface| 3.10.12 @ 10:48AM

There once was a woman named Fluck
Who told Congress that she like to fuck
The Church called it a sin
But they had to give in
When the boors dragged them into the muck

PolishKnight| 3.8.12 @ 9:58AM

jppc, the whole concept of feminism is to take advantage of chivalrous patronage: getting those comfy lifeboat seats while the disposable men go down with the ship and raise the stakes. Not only should she get the lifeboat seat, but it should be Corinthian leather. In addition, she should get all the high paying jobs on the ship to make up for previous suffering (but don't expect her to share that lifeboat!). And everything for her should be all inclusive while men pay for everything a la cart. Oh, and she should be able to curse like a sailor BUT the men should all watch their language because she's a "lady". While we have to go through retina scans to get drivers' licenses so "deadbeats" pay their "child-support" lest the taxpayer pay a welfare mother out of their own pocket, women can abandon babies at firestations because thousands of children, cancel that, BABIES, die each year from abandonment by their mothers.

That's the modern lady that feminism but more accurately, hyper chivalry, has created and conservatives are as much to blame as anyone.

Men's rights advocates I've spoken to are amazed that Rush fell for this considering his extensive history criticizing feminism. He surely knows that these women are totally unprincipled other than a naked pursuit of power and victory.

Boar Hunter| 3.8.12 @ 11:27AM

Some very excellent comments sir. I think I might disagree with you on the issue of hyper chivalry being the cause or contributing factor to our problems though. In my humble opinion it is the emasculation of the men in our society at all levels. If you find it read a book called wild at heart (sorry I cannot remember the authors name, but it is a christian publication) I believe it to be a life changer or at least a paradigm changer about the intended function and role of men in our society.

Bill Hussein O'Stalin| 3.8.12 @ 6:24AM

It wasn't that Limbaugh called her by a derogatory name.

Rush Limbaugh criticized a potential female freeloader.

That was his real sin.

Without freeloaders and the concept of freeloaders the Democrats would have no political base, in fact, the Democrats would have no political reality.

In that sense, all Democrats are sluts for freeloading and prostitutes to the ethos of big government.

Sarah Fluke is at best a well educated tool of the left.

Think of English Bob in the movie The Unforgiven, after he got his teeth kicked in and he's leaving town: "A plague on you. A plague on the whole stinking lot of ya, without morals or laws. And all you whores got no laws. You got no honor. It's no wonder you all emigrated to America, because they wouldn't have you in England. You're a lot of savages, that's what you all are. A bunch of bloody savages. A plague on you. I'll be back. "

albert constantine jr.| 3.8.12 @ 9:10AM

I think Gene Hackman as the sheriff, Little Bill (who had administered that beating along with others) had the better line immediately preceding that monologue: "Next time I see you, Bob, I'm just going to start shooting and call it self-defense".

squalis| 3.8.12 @ 9:56AM

For me, this was the best exchange of dialogue:

The Schofield Kid: [after killing a man for the first time] It don't seem real... how he ain't gonna never breathe again, ever... how he's dead. And the other one too. All on account of pulling a trigger.
Will Munny: It's a hell of a thing, killing a man. Take away all he's got and all he's ever gonna have.
The Schofield Kid: Yeah, well, I guess they had it coming.
Will Munny: We all got it coming, kid.

One if by land...| 3.8.12 @ 11:30AM

Deserves got nothing to do with it! - Best line of the whole movie

Brian B.| 3.8.12 @ 2:36PM

Nope, best line is Clint's response to Little Bill's complaint that Clint just shot an unarmed man, "Well, he shoulda armed hisself".

DaveS| 3.8.12 @ 6:35PM

Agreed. Now, insofar as Miss Fluke is concerned, Rush should pony-up all the birth control pills Ms. Fluke truly needs - for, as I see it, her looks are not very appealing.

bull-gator| 3.8.12 @ 10:03AM

excuse my correction of you on the title of this masterful and powerful movie, but it is titled "Unforgiven" and not "The Unforgiven".

Bill Hussein O'Stalin| 3.8.12 @ 10:18AM

Thanks. It was the 1960 movie that was The Unforgiven.

She can't be the new Gloria Steinem, because there's no parade for her to lead. The bus to that destination left 50 years ago, and we've all outgrown the T-shirt and don't even know where we packed it.

She's a more upscale version of the girl currently going viral for winning $1 million in the lottery and still getting $200 a month in food stamps, and whining that she is "struggling" and smirking at the camera that sure, she's going to keep on charging us for her popsicles and twinkies; she needs her money for drugs and beer.

By the way, why doesn't anybody ask her what on earth she planned to do with her undergraduate major? Heck, I majored in Victorian History and Literature, but I have actually found an in-depth study of a turning point in history and business to be useful in daily life. Studying sex seems pretty hard to justify either in a business sense or a social sense. Why doesn't somebody ask her?

spike59| 3.8.12 @ 6:52AM

my problem with Rush, aside from the 'should be obvious, but apparently isn't' fact that calling someone a 'slut' is wrong-yes, there is still such a thing as 'wrong'-is that he engaged the right 'target' with the wrong 'weapon'-the point he should have hammered on is that Ms Fluke is not some starry-eyed, apple-cheeked young coed who innocently discovered, alas, that her school didn't offer contraceptive coverage and who's been drawn into a debate that she didn't choose, but is instead a 30 yr old 'reproductive rights activist' who went shopping SPECIFICALLY for a law school that didn't offer contraceptive coverage in order to engage in political activism, who lied about the costs of contraception, whose tales of woe attributed to other students are likely made up, and who has publicly argued that the Catholic Church must also cover sex-change operations for Georgetown students-her whole 'testimony' was a stunt designed to divert attention from the ObaMao administration's violation of the Free Exercise Clause of the First Amendment, and, largely due to Rush's big mouth, succeeded beyond the Democrats' wildest dreams

AVCurmudgeon| 3.11.12 @ 9:22PM

Good points about Ms Fluke, but this was not known immediately the day of her "testimony". Rush shot from the hip, as is his style.

Charie| 3.17.12 @ 7:55PM

I think more specifically, that she went looking for a CATHOLIC University.

Brian Mc| 3.8.12 @ 6:57AM

"...aiming at the moron vote, so let them have it"? Isn't that how we got stuck with the alien? Allow me to disagree; might be we need some one-liners to make these idiots 'think' for a change, or quite possibly, think twice before being allowed another chance to bring this Republic further to its knees.

Mike G| 3.8.12 @ 8:52AM

Morons don't think. That's the reason we've had the elected officials we've had for the past few decades. Morons try to evaluate candidates based on sound bites or what they hear from others. They do not pay attention to what candidates do, only what they say. That's is why Mitt is doing so well, and why Obama got elected.

John Navratil| 3.8.12 @ 11:14AM

Mike G,

I've had the "pleasure" of an extended stay in hospital this last month (I tried to remove my right foot with a ladder) and have met many people from all over the intelligence/education strata.

The sweetest nurse tech, whom I gather did NOT graduate from U. Penn, quite guilelessly stated she would vote for Obama because it's too risky to change the President when times are so tough. At the same time she said she voted for Bush in 2004 because we were at war and she though it was too dangerous to change the C-in-C. There is a foolish consistency there.

Unfortunately, her analysis completely distances the man from his actions. It's just the system and he is powerless to control it. Has she not seen any actions and consequences? Apparently not.

Melvin| 3.8.12 @ 11:29AM

well John, that purity little nurse isn't voting because of any intellectual political philosophy, she voting for the free stuff.

Jim C| 3.15.12 @ 11:57PM

I have to disagree with your contention that morons do not think. They just do not think in the ways that you and I do. If they did there would not be a democrat party nor would we have a president of dubious citizenship running a country where nearly half of the population is on the public dole in one form or another. These morons, however, are not so dense as to not know which side of their bread resides the butter. That, my dear sir, is why we are indeed saddled with aforementioned Liberian Leprechaun.

Chuck in Norther Virginia| 3.8.12 @ 7:09AM

What is the cost of birth control per month? I was told you can get a months supply for about $9 at Wal-Mart. Is Ms Fluke able to afford an education at the elite Georgetown University (a Catholic institution to make her even more of the perfect promoter of the Democrat whining machine) but not a few bucks for the pill? What does it cost to go to that University and to live in Georgetown? Yet she cannot spare any money for the pill? Why doesn't she just date men who can afford rubbers? And why if she seeks to be a proud element of the Democrat Grievance Industry always seeking more and more government handouts, paid for by the rubes these same elites despise, does she not understand that some folks might think she should be accountable for herself at 30 years old? It's not surprising that Obama thinks of his daughters in this situation. Fluke, after all, acts like a child and wants her government to treat her like one.

benny havens| 3.8.12 @ 7:33AM

Chuck,

You must be from the old school, like me. They call them condoms now.
Excellent post.

Bruce| 3.8.12 @ 8:28AM

Whatever you do, don't let Ms. Fluke know some of the new condoms are made of lamb skin. She'll go running to PETA. It might also prompt her to start crying out "I'm a baaaahd girl."

Chuck in Northern Virginia| 3.9.12 @ 12:00PM

President George H. W. Bush was called "rubbers Bush" when he was a congressman for pushing government subsidizing of condoms to support population control. Maybe President Obama should be named "Condoms and pills Obama."

PolishKnight| 3.8.12 @ 10:05AM

This probably is not for the standard pill. This is probably for one of the new, high tech versions of the pill with positive side effects including controlling acne and her cycles and delivered via a patch or insert. Since the patents are fresh, the manufacturer wants to make their money ASAP before it goes generic and if it's covered under insurance, why not set a list price of 3 grand?

Indeed, the question should be why there the pharmaceutical companies make 3 thousand dollar versions of ancient forms of birth control while doing nothing for men such as finishing up RISUG that would stop unwanted pregnancies in their tracks. It's ironic that despite all the excitement about the female pill, it's not been that effective at stopping so-called unwanted pregnancies and women having children out of wedlock and into poverty. That's because, obviously, many women LIKE doing it.

I advise all men to not have sex with a woman without a spermicidal condom, period. The law rewards women for bearing children out of wedlock while punishing men. The men now need to be careful but the pharmaceutical companies like to say that men are jerks and don't want safe contraceptions outside of condoms OR they just like coming out with a different pill of the month (pun intended) because they can get the easy money.

SUBVET| 3.8.12 @ 11:09AM

Chuck my man........barry is part of the elite he tells is daughters that THEY are different THEY don't have to play by the rules.

And on being 30 and accountable....sir we have a generation that thinks WE owe them. THEY don't have to work or be accountable just give me MINE. I could go on here but I think you get the picture. This all comes down to being a responsible PARENT. Some where in the Bible it says "you reep what you sow" and I believe in devine intervention. HE is watching and just like the jews, I hope we don't wonder for 40 yrs. Lord knows we deserve it for our actions.

Only His devine love for us will rule the day.....HE is our only hope.

Deborah D| 3.9.12 @ 5:49AM

Hey Chuck, I wondered the same thing about tuition, so I looked it up. Here: http://studentaccounts.georget.....sting.html

Law Center
Full-time per year 46,865.00
Per credit hour (Juris Doctoral) 1,675.00
Per credit hour (Graduate and other) 1,905.00

I think she can manage $9 per month (without insurance) for the pill at the local Target or Wal Mart. Once again BS from the Dem activists. And, if she can't, she should be at a state university.

Chuck in Northern Virginia| 3.9.12 @ 11:54AM

Thanks for doing the research. Obviously, the "news" media has any interest in these costs and the absurdity of this female con artist.

Jim C| 3.16.12 @ 12:18AM

Speaking of the Catholic church, It would seem that they are getting their comeuppance. They have been sponsoring people from their favorite countries into this one and then putting them on the dole for years.

One example I have personal experience with is the Hmong. Their excuse was that the Hmong were helping us in Viet Nam during the war and we left them high and dry when we left. I would take issue with the basis of that in that we were over there wasting lives and treasure in their cause. To my way of thinking we owe them nothing. They owe us and for the Catholic church to foist them onto the taxpayers of this country is unconscionable.

Now that the church is getting it stuck to them listen to them howl. While I agree with their contention that they have the constitutional right to be excluded from the over reaching policy of the president, it sure does my heart good to see them howl after sticking me with the bill for all these years.

Mattled| 3.8.12 @ 7:23AM

I like what a female caller to Rushs show had to say last Friday:
" Rush, please pay for her contraception already. We don't want her to reproduce!!".

Resistanceisfutile| 3.8.12 @ 9:52AM

I agree. This would be a great PR move for Rush to offer to pay for the $3000.00 as soon as he gets an invoice for the product. I for one would love to see what you get for Three Grand! Gold plated pills? Platinum prophylactics? Diamond encrusted diaphragm?

Dick Nome | 3.8.12 @ 10:12AM

Judging by the bimbo's attitude toward men, pregnancy and promiscuity, I don't think she wants to reproduce. Assuming she even likes men, she has probably already had the Liberal sacremental abortion.

Redatheart| 3.8.12 @ 7:29AM

Ms Fluke may be an honor student at Georgetown's law school but she's not well informed on the latest in government hand-out's. Doesn't she know that we taxpayers already fund birth control along with abortion and a host of other 'women's health services' via Planned Parenthood?

Had Ms Fluke and her suffering friends done their homework, they'd known all they'd needed to do was scrape together enough money to carpool to the nearest PP location and get 'free' contraception.

As for Fluke's righteous indignation over the names she was called and refusal to accept Rush's apology, one hopes she includes Michelle Malkin's column, "The War on Conservative Women" to her required reading list so she can expand her knowledge on what happens to conservative women after being attacked. There are no sympathetic phone calls from the president or embraces of admiration from the women on The View. The cable networks don't keep leading with your story, day after day while ignoring stories of other women such as the mother last week that lost her legs while saving the lives of her children during a tornado. No, if you're a conservative woman and you get attacked by a liberal man or liberal woman, you get more of the same, again and again. Welcome to the national stage, Ms Fluke.

numbatdog| 3.8.12 @ 7:41AM

This stunt has backfired big time on the Dems. Fluke got her 5 minutes of fame and Obama got his sound bite but the continuing story is not what Rush said but the hypocrisy of the left. The sheer volume of misogynistic filth that emanates from the left wing commentators, normally ignored by the media, has been revealed. As is the silence of those liberal politicians who were so outraged at Rush when conservative women are trashed. They have no answer for this hypocrisy because there is none.
I bet they wish they had never heard of Fluke and her free contraceptives.

Doctor_X| 3.8.12 @ 8:02AM

A friend of mine who works in It was recetly fired because he reported a young female to HR. The yound "lady" was sending nude photos of herself to people and causing trouble in the workplace. My IT friend looked at her email and found the photos, that are against company policy, yet HE was fired for invading HER privacy!
It was a company owned PC and company owned email yet he is the bad guy and is fired while the "slut" kept her job.

Don't worry sir, when Shiria law comes into effect her behavior, abortions, her (everyone's) contraception, and her men friend's "rubbers" will be history. We won't have to look at her either, she'll be wearing a Burqua. Heck, there just might be some good things about Burqua law afterall.

Mike Hawk| 3.8.12 @ 8:21AM

Last week I was at my VFW post Friday night and noticed the evening news featuring the tart Ms FLuke being interviewed prominantly. I was stunned and spontaneously blurted "What is that slut doing on TV??" (At the time I was not completely aware of the rising controversy as I had had activities the previous evening that went late so I did not know what the MSM was doing to vilify Rush. I was aware of Fluke's appearance at the staged presser set up as a hearing.) You'd have thought I had just called Obozo the N-word. People that obviously had not heard Rush's dialog went nuts. My first thought was, "Get me out of here, I am in the company of nuts." I went home and did my research and tuned in Mark Levin, wow, was it getting crazy. Slut is now worse than the N-word if you are a Conservative but both words are OK if you are a Liberal. Knowing what I know now, if I go back and am asked I will stand by my statement, but maybe now I will just call the twit a skank instead.

Ground Control| 3.8.12 @ 8:18AM

"This is the quality of mind that holds forth on Liberal cable television. No one there objects to the gutter talk, which is hurled at conservative women. No sponsors threaten to pull their advertisements."
Do these cable shows have sponsors to pull support from them? Having never seen most of these shows (as most Americans have not) I really do not know who actually pays for this drivel, or if they are sibsidized by their respective networks. Truly a non-profit enterprise. Is Bill Maher's salary a tax deduction as a corporate loss?

"The Democrats are aiming at the moron vote, and let them have it."
Unfortunately, the "moron vote" is an ever increasing segment of America's voting populace. Moron's can swing elections, and I offer President Bozo's 2008 victory as proof.

This political pawn of the hard left served her purpose and has made a fool of herself and the D party led by the Muslim Marxist, who told us yesterday oil is yesterday's fuel.
Well my car needed oil TODAY, so I'm waiting for "The One" who can lower the seas, to get algea into my gas tank pronto.
I'll vote for Obozo in a heartbeat if he can turn oral contraceptives into energy.
Anyway, in a month, Ms. Fluke will leave the hallowed halls of Georgetown Law, sans her $45 large p/y tuition. That should buy a whole lot of sex, especially while studying for the bar exam.
I hope Emmett keeps tabs on Ms. Fluke, can't wait to see what her first job is post graduation!!!

Anthony| 3.8.12 @ 10:15AM

Speaking of Ms. Fluke's post graduation employment opportunities, I suggest Emmett use his considerable influence with the world's rich and famous and help Ms. Fluke get a position with Emmett's hero, DSK.
Of course, DSK still has to get out of the hoskow from his prostitution rap in France, but that should not be a problem for a man used to working the system.
Perhaps Sandra Fluke, Esq., the newly minted lawyer extraordinaire, who is also adept at working the system, can help the misunderstood DSK get out of the can.
Think of it, Fluke and Strauss- Kahn, fellow socialists, working to solve the problems of the poor and disenfranchised.
I bet the medical plan over at the World Bank includes contraceptives.
It's a match made in lefty heaven, Fluke gets to use all the contraceptives she wants, DSK gets all the sex he can get from the foxy Ms. Fluke.
And Bill Clinton can act as mediator in the event of any workplace sexual harassment disagreements.

Al Adab| 3.8.12 @ 10:49AM

What saddenes me most is the lack of discernment exhibited by Georgetown Univ. How harmful for their reputation to find such favored grad students possessed of such low moral quality.

Occam's Tool| 3.8.12 @ 10:53AM

Al: She's one of their academic stars.

SUBVET| 3.8.12 @ 11:24AM

I din't know ms. fluke was a LAW grad student.....question ??? is IT a male.

You know what they say about lawyers and why they ware tight collared shirts.....so you don't see their fores* in.

Anthony| 3.8.12 @ 1:06PM

Hey, SUBVET, lawyers are people too, you know!!! (sniff, sniff, boo hoo, my feelings are hurt!!)
There's no lawyer crying in court!!!
Whew, that said, I can now unbutton my top shirt button, ahhhhhhhhh.

Al
Bubba graduated from Georgetown undergrad, and was class president.
Georgetown also covered the lectern with Jesus's name when Obama spoke there several years ago so as to not offend Obama.

Resist We Much! | 3.8.12 @ 9:08AM

The Left: Fluke The Facts

1. Ms Fluke admitted that Georgetown's insurance pays for birth control pills for non-contraceptive uses.

2. The contraceptive mandate does not apply to student health plans.

3. The topic of the hearing at which Ms Fluke wanted to testify was neither contraception nor insurance.

4. The subject was religious liberty.

5. Maerose Prizzi and her hairy-legged harridans wanted Ms Fluke to testify as a substitute for Rev. Barry Lynn, the President of Americans United for the Separation of Church and State when he had to pull out.

6. Rev. Lynn IS an expert on the subject (some may disagree with his position), but Ms Fluke IS NOT.

7. The panel was NOT all-male as the Democrats alleged. The warriors fighting against the Republicans so-called "War on Women" walked out before Dr. Laura Champion and Dr. Allison Garrett testified.

8. Ms Fluke did NOT testify before a Congressional panel.

9. Ms Fluke did NOT testify under oath.

10. Ms Fluke spoke to a Maerose Prizzi's weekly kaffe klatsch instead.

11. Ms Fluke believes in "free speech for me and not for thee" as she fought to silence pro-life groups at Cornell.

12. Ms Fluke not only believes that the Catholic Church -- not just religious institutions, hospitals, colleges, etc., -- should pay for contraception, she also believes that the government should be able to force it to pay for its employees' sex reassignment surgery.

13. On "The View," the alleged victim of "hate speech" directed millions of Americans to read about same at Media Matters, a purveyor in "hate speech," especially Anti-Semitism.

Cry me a Fluking river, already!

Obama was a fluke. Now, America is Fluked.

Renaissance Nerd | 3.8.12 @ 9:25AM

I'm afraid that Fluke's real contribution to the national conversation will just be her last name. What a convenient homonym for a certain four-letter word. I haven't heard it yet, but I can already imagine 'Fluke you!' will eventually be traded in kindergartens.

jmulcahy1| 3.8.12 @ 9:20PM

Nerd,

I'll bet she will be asked to speak at the Democratic National Convention to extend her 15 minutes of fame into the Fall campaign.

It was really a cheap piece of luck

Sandra| 3.8.12 @ 9:16AM

Oh please, not another Gloria Steinem! She did enough damage to organizations like the Girl Scouts. No, please, let Miss Sandra Fluke fade into the media "darkness" of irrelevance like Mrs. Cindy Sheehan has done.

mike| 3.8.12 @ 10:07PM

Whatever happened to Cindy Sheehan?

Resist We Much! | 3.8.12 @ 9:17AM

"Surely Miss Fluke will branch out, defending all kinds of gynecological innovations that trouble some, say, Catholics, or Southern Baptists, or secular humanists, who are skeptical of Obamacare."

"Transgender persons wishing to undergo the gender reassignment process frequently face heterosexist employer health insurance policies that label the surgery as cosmetic or medically unnecessary and therefore uncovered."

- Sandra Fluke and Karen Hu, “Employment Discrimination Against LGBTQ Persons,” Georgetown Journal of Gender and the Law," 2011 Annual Review.

She has already "branched out." She wants religious institutions to pay for sex changes.

Congratulations, America: You’ve Been Fluked!

Louis Jenkins| 3.8.12 @ 9:46AM

Rush is like the ugly old dog that you love, tolerate, and overlook his indescretions. He right 99.7% of the time. Is his calling Fluke a slut the 0.3% of the time? I doubt it. The only thing missing from Miss Fluke's wardrope was a lamp shade.

Citizen Jerry| 3.8.12 @ 10:26AM

Ms. Fluke (however you pronounce it) may be the media darling now. But once Democrats have gotten all the mileage they can out of her, they'll throw her under the bus faster than you can say "Cindy Sheehan."

Resist We Much! | 3.8.12 @ 10:39AM

Carrie Prejean would have loved to have ONLY been Fluked for stating President Obama's position on SSM.

Controse| 3.8.12 @ 10:49AM

Attention all conservatives everywhere! We of course do not count ourselves among the morons. One major weakness of a moron is that he/she is easily fooled. Otherwise they would not be Democrats. So if we are so smart and they are so easily fooled why are we not going after the moron vote. Morons don't like to think but they do like to be entertained. How about warming up every stump speech with an accomplished comedian such as Dennis Miller or ...uh... I can't think of any other accomplished comedians that are conservative. Well Dennis answer the call; serve your country; pick a candidate; use your talents to fool the morons into voting for him.

Jim C| 3.16.12 @ 12:48AM

I'm afraid that Miller's humor requires intelligence to understand. The morons you want to woo and entertain would stand around with their mouths agape. And drooling is so, so messy.

Charie| 3.17.12 @ 8:32PM

I saw Dennis Miller in Green Bay WI open for George Bush in 2004. He was really on that day, too. The whole crowd was roaring and Pres. Bush hadn't even arrived yet.

Bill L.| 3.8.12 @ 10:54AM

Elegantly put, as usual, Mr. Tyrrell. I wish, however, that you'd devoted a little more space to Ms. Powers' courage in taking on the potty-mouthed folk on her side of the aisle. She wrote a very good column.

WeeWillie| 3.8.12 @ 10:57AM

Mr. Limbaugh has been isolated from the simple people too long. He should have know that America has a class structure that can be easily defined. I.e. lower class women can be sluts, middle class women can be promiscuous, but upper class women enjoy a rich and varied sex life.

Melvin| 3.8.12 @ 11:36AM

Perfect description to a, " T." Didn't see it like that, but your absolutely right.

Anthony| 3.8.12 @ 11:22AM

Good point WeeWillie. To paraphrase the Rage'n Cage'n gumbo boy, James Carville, I bet if you drag a pair of Manolo-Blonics along Central Park South, all sorts of rich and varied sex will result!!

Cookie Sewell| 3.8.12 @ 11:45AM

Alas, relying on the Moron Vote has worked all too well for the Progressives over the last 45 years or so.

Apparently we (anyone who can reason) have to find a way to overcome the inertia of those who flow along with the Moron Vote and see no problem keeping these people in office.

Teaghan| 3.8.12 @ 12:02PM

I'm just amazed that so many "educated" women buy into the liberal/progressive lie that the gov. gives a shit about them.

Rebecca 12| 3.8.12 @ 12:07PM

Mr. Tyrell -- The Donks already have the moron vote locked up. So what's this all about? Worried about their base?

cowgirl| 3.8.12 @ 12:18PM

And what happened to the Liberal's Queen of War Cindy Sheehan????? Where is she now?

Dagny Taggert| 3.8.12 @ 2:06PM

Or Code Pink?

Ron| 3.8.12 @ 12:24PM

So, maybe Mr. Limbaugh should have used a more appropriate term..like "skank?"

After all, she never said she wanted to be paid for the actual sexual acts...So, she could not really be a "slut." So, maybe Miss Fluck (her pronunciation) is really a "skank."

nathan| 3.8.12 @ 12:26PM

Sorry all of you I believe missed the point.

As I understand it and correct me if I'm wrong, Georgetown mandated that all students have health insurance. But and here's the important part, Georgetown says they have to pay for it, does not subsidize it in any way and says you have to buy it from THIS provider and only this plan which doesn't offer BC. Georgetown has no money in this, it's all purely the student's money.

I'm sorry folks if what I just said is true, then if the students are paying, they should be able to choose what they want. My money, my choice folks. Trust me if my daughter was going there I would look at Georgetown and say I'm paying you don't get to tell ME how I spend MY money folks.

Sorry but if Georgetown wants to dictate this, then let them pay the freight, otherwise, let the students buy what they want.

albert constantine jr.| 3.8.12 @ 12:52PM

So you want to have the government mandate what Georgetown (a private religious institution to which people voluntarily apply) can mandate?

Purple Lips| 3.8.12 @ 1:07PM

Ah, but Georgetown underwrites this special policy for its students. And as a consequence they can say what is covered and what isn't. Of course, HHS now says no-can-do. Fluke's (non)testimony was totally irrelevant to the Issa's Hearings, as those hearings dealt with the constitutional questions at hand. Fluke's (non)testimony, therefore, was nothing more than political agritrop - eye candy for the MSM, but abusrd on its face.

End result -if Georgetown Law has insurance policies you find offensive, there are plenty of other law schools out there (as a matter of fact, they are legion).

markenoff| 3.8.12 @ 2:41PM

Or let students go somewhere else. There is no right to go to any scholl. When I went to the Univ of Cinci law school I was forced to pay "student fees" to support organizations I had no interest in joining.

nathan| 3.9.12 @ 10:14AM

Which I found equally offensive at the school I went to. Those fees, "activity" fees should come to an end.

MachiasPrivateer| 3.8.12 @ 12:51PM

Females in academia like Ms. Fluke are a dime a dozen. They populate the halls with their sallow, tired, angry, depressed demeanors, all the while touting the glories of Feminist-Marxist-psycho-sexual theory to their uninspired, vapid, sycophant teaching assistants. This is her moment to angrily shine, but since her atheistic worldview reaps death, this little fool's charade will too. Like the feminist professors that I know, she too has very little to look forward to in the end.

This woman is an abortion activist. If she does NOT like the health insurance from the University, she is free to go to law school at a liberal university. The $3,000 for 3 years is way out of line unless an abortion is included in those costs. Tax payer dollars should not be going to pay for her sexual activity.
