Stabbed in the Back

Obama pats himself on the back for making Israel less secure.

While President Obama was congratulating himself about doing more for Israel’s security than any other president in American history, three senior administration officials were working overtime to reinforce the view that Israel is blight unto the nations.

Last week Obama told what is a shrinking group of Jewish campaign donors in New York City (the fact they could all fit into a Greenwich Village townhouse tells you something) the following: 

This administration — I try not to pat myself too much on the back — but this administration has done more in terms of the security of the state of Israel than any previous administration.”

Whether it’s making sure that our intelligence cooperation is effective, to making sure that we’re able to construct something like an iron dome so that we don’t have missiles raining down on Tel Aviv, we have been consistent in insisting that we don’t compromise when it comes to Israel’s security.

First, intelligence sharing, protecting Israel against missiles, and maintaining Israel’s qualitative military edge is not something that should be congratulated. It’s what allies do for each other: Should Obama pat himself on the back for maintaining military commitments to NATO, South Korea, and Japan?

Unlike how we treat other allies, at every turn the administration is harming Israel’s security by how it acts and talks about it. And last week and in succession, three top administration foreign policy officials not only criticized Israel, they emboldened the campaign to delegitimize the Jewish state.

By turn, each official reinforced the perception peddled by Israel’s enemies that it is a militaristic and oppressive regime whose isolation is due to its refusal to take steps on behalf of peace. Defense Secretary Leon Panetta claimed Israel was more isolated from its “traditional security partners” like Turkey, Egypt and Jordan because it had upset each in the process of chasing down terrorists — and because it wasn’t doing enough to make peace with the Palestinians. Set aside that Panetta ignored Israel’s withdrawal from the Sinai, from Lebanon, from Gaza or how it froze settlement construction for 10 months to coax the Palestinians back to negotiating. Would officials concerned about Israel’s security offer up Muslim Brotherhood talking points?

But Panetta’s remarks were tame compared to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s screed (“a three-minute monologue”) against a new Israeli law that in her view restricts left-wing NGOs and demands on the part of some ultra-Orthodox groups for separate seating for men and women on some buses and exempting soldiers from their communities from having to hear women sing at army-required events. She told a group it reminded her of Rosa Parks and that the actions were more suited to Iran than Israel.

The regulation of NGOs — as in our Patriot Act — tries to stop aid to groups that support terrorist organizations. Ultra-Orthodox Jews in Israel have been asking for more separation of men and women on buses and the military for some time. To object to such actions is one thing. But comparing Obama’s “stalwart ally” with Islamist regimes that condone rape and bar women from driving cars? Will Hillary criticize the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt with as much passion?

But Howard Gutman, Obama’s ambassador to Belgium, delivered the punch line. He told a European conference on anti-Semitism: “A distinction should be made between traditional anti-Semitism, which should be condemned, and Muslim hatred for Jews, which stems from the ongoing conflict between Israel and the Palestinians.” That’s right. An American ambassador excused Muslim anti-Semitism (and the violent expression thereof).

The White House disavowed the statement. But Gutman’s remarks reflect the administration’s belief that Israel is causing the Muslim violence and terrorism it endures rather than being its focus. Or as Barry Rubin put it: “the Obama Administration encourages and supports the coming to power of fanatically anti-Israel groups, then have the nerve to say Israel is becoming isolated because it isn’t making enough concessions! They encourage and support the rise of regimes that are totally against any peace with Israel or any two-state solution, and then have the nerve to say that Israel can defuse the situation by making peace.”

So when the president says he has done more for Israel’s security than any other president, he is right. He and his administration — especially through this most recent set of rants — has made Israel less secure, not more.

Obama the puppet is mouthing what George Soros places on his teleprompter; and Soros is bringing about the Eschaton according to the Plan. Where Obama got the idea that Satan takes partners is a question for the ages, but when I re-read Luke Chapter 4, I get the idea that when he took Obama up on that mountaintop, Obama shook his hand. (If you dont read the Bible, just remember what that trick got Saruman.)

Sooner than we probably think, Soros is going to cut the strings that make his puppet dance...and that will happen right after the world sees that Israel is not Miami Beach.

Gutman made some honest comments. He must be a sane Jew. He is a decendent of Holocaust survivers. Doesn' t that buy him some kind of pass? I read the Israeli press all the time. I would say that from my experiece about half the Israeli population would agree with him. The discussion of Middle East problems is far better in Israel then here.

Obama will get most Jewish votes as usual. He has long been in bed with the Lobby since his earliest days as a minor local politician. He caves on every occasion. Why would they want someone else?

Four and a half million pathetic "Palestinian refugees" are on a UN welfare program which provides them with assistance in housing, education, food, medicine, and cash. They have been on the UN dole for generations, for 60 years, based on the absurd premise that they are entitled to reclaim land in Israel. In stark contrast to the Muslim states, Israel has a strong economy, freedom, advanced technology and medicine, and respect for human rights. Israel is a valuable, essential ally of the United States, whether the treacherous Obamas of this world think so or not.

The U.S. Congress should cut off aid to the Palestinian/Hamas coalition, and defund the UN program called UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA). If it doesn't, then American taxpayers will continue to fund terrorists.

And if that doesn't work then well try God gave it to us in the bible. All these rational, and balanced arguments supported by 3 trillion dollars of armaments including weapons of mass destruction. I just ate in my favorite Arab resturant today. They are Palistinians and fine handsome people who work hard and have a great business. I lived in the most Jewish neighborhood in my state for many years. My kids had both Jewish and Muslim friends. They were both in my house together on many occasions. They went to the prom together and played on the same sports teams. This hate pushed by some on this site is truely disgusting. The only solution in Israel Palistine that has ever made any sense to me is an integrated united country with equal rights, civil, religious and political for all the people who live there. Of course the Palistinians are entitled to many hundreds of billions in reparations, for all the crimes committed against them in the last 63 years.

Does anyone remember two of the first things he did, upon taking office? He gave his 1st Interview to Al Arabia, to let them know that he was ONE OF THEM, and he Demanded that Israel stop building Housing for Their People, in Their CAPITOL.

Is the Middle East MORE Peaceful, or less, since this Nobel Peace Prize Laureate, took to the World Stage? Is Egypt BETTER? Or, is it WORSE, if you're Israel? Is Libya BETTER? Or WORSE, if you're Israel? And why no "Meddling" in Iran or Syria? Is it because they are already on a War Footing with the Jewish State? Is it because they are already Beach Heads for Al Qaeda, Hamas, and Hezbollah?

He pushed Mubarak, out of Power. Now, Egypt belongs to the Islamists. He took up arms, against Libya. And, now Libya belongs to the Islamists. Tunisia belongs to the Islamists. Israel is being SQUEEZED. She is staring at a No Win Situation, in Iran. There will be War. There will be NUKES involved. The Oil will stop. Is it Armageddon? I guess we'll find out.

Meanwhile, somewhere in an Upper West Side, New York City apartment, that FAT PIG SLOB - Harvey Weinstein - is writing Hamas' Deliverer - ABU HUSSAIN - a big fat CHECK.

John786. Jesus my Lord, God, and Savior was born in the Roman Province of Gallilee, which makes him a Galillian. Jersualem was in the Roman province of Judea. I agree with much of what you say about the injustice in Palistine, but lets keep our facts straight. History is not one of the best subjects for most Muslims. Palistine was the name given to the province by the Emperor Hadrian after he finally expelled all the Jews for the last time in about 132 Anno Domini.

Ethnic cleansing? The "peaceful" palestinians start lobbing rockets into Isreal and killing innocent women and children, but the moment the Isrealis fire back in self-defense their accused of being "oppressors" and "ethnic cleansing."

Isreal is surrounded by a cesspool.

Personally, I don't think I'd think much about it if I woke up tomorrow, only to find that the majority of that region had been turned into a glass, self-lighting parking lot.

Where in this universe was Jesus a Palestinian? Last I checked, he was of the Jewish tribe of Judah, of the house of King David. That would make his background and ancestry Jewish.

Perhaps, sooner than anyone who believes Israel is a good nation, we will see a war where this lone democracy will fight for survival against those who loathe it's religion. Sometimes, enough is enough! Hatred has to find an outlet, doesn't it? Even beyond these "reality shows" in America, citizens can sense when all is not well. Maybe this is bout the laws of nature at work, or perhaps a spiritual war among those who believe they are right and their enemies are wrong.

Prove it...or the proof of this formula lies in it's testing. Leave room, however, for mental illness, even on a scale of nation state or cultural.

Cleaning house is important for those who wish it.

His treatment of Netanyahu should be ample evidence of his dislike of Jews and Israel.

The only "ethnic cleansing" going on in this world is being committed by the radical Muslims.

There are approximately 2.2 BILLION Muslims in the world. And when they're not too busy killing each other, they are attempting to kill as many of the 13.3 million Jews in this world, as possible. Mostly because they cannot stand to allow the Israelis to have their own small piece of land in what was their ancestral homeland.

Ethnic cleansing?

What secular people don't get is that the Israelis are GOD"S CHOSEN PEOPLE.

And the Lord God of Heaven will not allow His people be eradicated.....not by anyone.
