The Trayvon Martin Nightmare
April 19, 2012 | 266 comments
Our president has failed every racial test he has taken.
This is the season to be counting all of the defects of our political leaders, including of course the top one. The word on the street is that Mr. Obama’s failure to produce enough jobs will spell his political doom. However, in my view there is a good argument that our president’s most important failing lies in the field of race relations. It was in that field that his very being symbolized an historic promise.
The promise was both implied and explicit. The American dream was being fulfilled because we had elected a member of a formerly despised and abused minority to lead us out of the wilderness of racial bigotry and prejudice. All of us who voted for him had every right to expect that Barack Obama would head the most post-racial administration in history, dedicated in every governmental office to equality in all actions. There would be no discrimination in favor of one race over another, certainly not the black race over the white. Not with the first African-American occupying the Oval Office.
Like so many others, I found myself actually weeping at the wonder and the hope that filled American hearts during the Inauguration ceremonies. And like so many others I have almost cried since that day, but for other reasons.
The sad truth is that our president has flunked every racial test he has taken — from his ineptly criticizing the Cambridge police for their alleged stupid handling of a complaint by a prestigious black Harvard professor to his embrace — yes, an actual hug — of the clever racial bigot, Al Sharpton. Obama has had many opportunities to use the bully pulpit of the White House to denounce bigots like Sharpton and his brother-in-hate, Farrakhan, but he has not done so. Just the opposite. Anti-white and anti-Semitic thugs are flourishing in this spineless atmosphere — even though we Americans had every right to expect Mr. Obama to deal with them harshly.
All of which brings us back to the New Black Panther case. Remember that one? In the hectic pace of news today, it may seem like ancient history, but it is not and it had better not be forgotten. As it happens, the Commission on Civil Rights has recently issued a bound copy of its full report on the case. Because the Obama Justice Department stonewalled the commission’s requests for information on the case, it is labeled “An Interim Report” but it is likely to be the last word from the commission on the subject.
In this report we have an objective, exhaustive documentation of the failure of the Obama Administration to deal in a race-neutral fashion with the civil rights violations of a fringe black hate group. Two New Black Panther Party members stood outside a Philadelphia polling place during the 2008 presidential election and shouted racial slurs at potential voters and poll workers, such as “You are about to be ruled by a black man, cracker.” The thugs were in paramilitary garb and one brandished a nightstick. Since this was a clear violation of the Voting Rights Act, the Civil Rights Division of the U.S. Department of Justice in December 2008 initiated a civil suit against the party, its chairman, and the two men at the polling place. In legal terms, this was as a simple matter, a slam-dunk.
It became even simpler when the defendants did not respond to the suit and a default judgment was entered. Case won and over. But not so fast. The Obama Administration arrived in January 2009 and soon a whole new crew of leaders took over the Department of Justice, led by Eric Holder. As has been extensively documented in the commission report and in the seminal book Injustice by former Justice Department lawyer J. Christian Adams, there is solid evidence that the new leaders were not dedicated to the race-neutral enforcement of the law. This was made clear when the Obama-Holder department abruptly revered course in May 2009 and dismissed the case, except for a slap on the wrist to one of the defendants. The dismissal found much support among lawyers and staff members in the division.
It is an outrage and a national scandal that many lawyers in the Civil Rights Division of the Department of Justice do not support the equal enforcement of the civil rights laws — and they actually object when those laws are applied to black offenders who victimize whites. It is an even greater outrage and a greater scandal when by now there can be no doubt that our president knows of this outrage and has done nothing to deal forcefully with it.
Based upon my past experience in the federal government, including stints as a White House consultant, I believe that this is a relatively simple matter for the president to handle. He can start by admitting that the dismissal of the panther suit was a mistake and that actions against black civil rights offenders will be vigorously pursued in the future. He can then demand that lawyers and other staff, including conservatives and Republicans, who believe in the race-neutral enforcement of the law be recruited at all levels of the Civil Rights Division. There are many lawyers who fit that description, some of whom work in the Justice Department today. The president can also order that the massive Justice Department cover-up cease and that information about the case be revealed.
None of these remedies will be taken if Mr. Obama is not convinced they are necessary. If he ignores this scandal, his failures in the racial field will remain a blot on his record forever.

It won’t take long for conservatives to scratch this presidential wannabe off their 2008 scorecard.

" if he ignors this scandle, his failure in the racial field will remain a blot on his record forever".
His failure in the racial field, how about calling it like it is, where is there any evidence he has any accomplishments since slithering into the house of We the Patriots, come on you could have at the least mentioned as least one of them, or is this the point, he was not sent there to accomplish but one thing, creating the conditions for the hell on earth he and his followers have planned for us all, the Patriots, he has none to even mention, let alone crow of.
and... let's not forget who is in charge of this so called justice dept, an offical crony, just like this thug claiming to be someone's pResident. Yeah that speaks well for the entire adminsitration, and it will go down in history as the begining of the near end of our Republic. Sorry but, other than the complete and utter failure this entire regime represents, who in their right mind wants to even sugest there are other items to concern ourselves with, other than Fast & Ferious, Solandra, paid off union backers with the taxpayers money, fundamental transformation of our Representative Republic into their own version of hell on earth, yeah we really need to concern ourselves with these two top racist, the only thing missing in this article is the G-damned reverend he supposidly never listened to for twenty years and his take on it. fricken pathetic, the whole lot of them, they have brought nothing but shame to the Patriots of this Nation.

These radical policies will not change until Newt is President. These and other policies, appointments, and endorsements of Occupy Wall Street, ACORN, and union thugs are harbingers of concentration camps for conservatives if O gets another four years.
Sounds nuts? How about the undercover FBI agent who reported that The Weathermen estimated that 25 million would have to be murdered to ensure the collectivist transformation of America. That was in the late 60s and early 70s. Now that there are so many of us conservatives, I wonder what the new target is.

Obama is not a cultural American in the same way as someone whose formative years were spent in America. He has learned about America as an afterthought. Couple that with his cold, indifferent and narcissitic personality and you have one strange guy. We waste our time thinking he will warm to save America. Won't happen. Evidently Mr. Trebach is one of the people who can be fooled all of the time.

Are you kidding me? "...weeping at the wonder and the hope that filled American hearts...?" The author obviously had his head where a large portion of the country had theirs then they cast their vote for the man who grew up spiritually in the house of Rev Wright. How anyone could have believed that Obama would "heal" this country is beyond me. When he was elected I almost did weep, for we elected an anti-Christ (not THE anti-Christ, just one of his loyal minions). And based upon his complete inability to do anything my almost weeping was justified. I almost started weeping again a few weeks ago when I found myself behind a car with an "Obama 2012" sticker. They are fools and cowards who bought into political correctness and white bashing in order to avoid being called a "racist" and losing their jobs. Believe it or not, I don't think Obama is particularly worse at white male bashing than his predecessors. They, and he, largely let the media and bureaucrats and trial lawyers do that dirty work for them. The fools' disillusionment with Obama has to do with their realization that leftism is a dead end of government cronyism. More below:

I hate to beat a dead horse, over and over, again, but......His 1st Mentor was Frank Marshall Davis. A White Hating/Jew Hating, Atheist and a Communist. His 2nd Mentor, was Jeremiah Wright. He is a White Hating/Jew Hating, Ex Muslim, and a Marxist. (They sound just like Barry's Mommy and Daddy) He attended White Hating/Jew Hating, Nation of Islam Leader - Louis Farrakhan's HATE RALLIES. He and his Wife, are FRIENDS, to this day, with the White Hating, Jew Hating, Farrakhans and the White Hating/Jew Hating, Black Panthers. (READ HIS BOOKS) He is "FREINDS" with Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn, who's Weather Underground Group wanted to KILL WHITE BABIES in their cribs, and in the Hospital Maternity Wards.
He can't run on his record. He has no accomplishments. There is no "Content" to his "Character". And so, he must make do, with what he has left. The Colour of his skin. (So much for MLK)
A great man, in 2008, once said that: "If you think that by electing the 1st Black President, that this is gonna make the Race Card go away, you're mistaken. It's gonna make it WORSE."
If you don't like his Policies? You're a Racist. If you don't like his Radical Communist/Marxist/Maoist Appointments? You're a Racist. If you complain about his treatment of Israel, you're a Racist, and a Jew. If you use his middle name? You're a BIGOT. If you're against Drilling Moratoriums, Record Unemployment, Credit Rating Downgrades, and Record Foreclosure? You hate Black People. If you're even thinking about mentioning FOOD STAMPS? Then you want to see Black People "Hanging From Trees". And, if you think that his Wife (Who has never been proud of this Country, before) is a Fat, Black version of Marie Antoinette/Eva Peron? Then, you probably have a Chain hanging from the back bumper of your pick-up truck.
Abu Hussain has declared, HIMSELF, that he no longer sees any advantage in trying to get the "White Middle Class Worker's Votes". He will concentrate on Blacks and Browns, Yellows and Greens. He will Divide us by Colour and Creed. Wealth and Religion. Haves and Have Nots.
That's what Dictators do. It's Dictatorship 101. He wants control of THE STREETS. That's what he knows. He seeks this Nation's Lowest Common Denominator, ala Lenin/Hitler/Stalin/Castro/Mugabe, and Chavez.
Mr. Trebach. Are you still with me? Am I going too fast for you?

RW Johnson, you got that right. Turtle Bay will acccept him with open arms. He'll waltz in. All of this after his 2-year $24,000 per plate speaking tour and book tour across the globe. The UN will throw down its Secretary General inauguration like none before.
Then watch-out: The UN will start declaring this and that parcel of land (U.S. American land) to be a UNESCO World Heritage Site, a UN protected piece of the globe.
It will also be the place that he'll work to finally undo the U.S. military. He'll engage the UN in so many peacekeeping duties around the world, forcing every nation's military to stretch very thin (on many dubious missions/causes), cajoling America to commit more troops to this "vital region and its beleaguered people."
All of this while agitating and baiting feeble minded Americans that America does not do its fair share and pony up enough money for global UN operations, peace, harmony, and earthly UN utopianisms....
PolishKnight| 12.6.11 @ 9:33AM
I don't think Obama is a dictator. He's just another crony like Clinton greasing the palms of his special interest groups and supporters. He wants to cash in and get out. One of the good things about the FDR era is that the Constitution now forbids Presidents run for more than two consecutive terms so we don't have Vladimir Putins here.
The "fascists" are the individual loser leftists themselves who cheerlead for their party much like a raging mob of footballers set fire to the streets during playoffs. They dream of being in the crony class while those who aren't get shipped off to Siberia. It's now clear that their original goal of class warfare is irrelevant as they target working class white males. After they dehumanize their opponents, they then shove them in front the bus after they gripe: "Why should we help them since they don't support us anymore?" They forget that at one time, FDR made his living serving the working class white male constituency so their turn will come. Ironically, the last to be shoved under the bus will be the rich since the left all secretly aspire to reach that class.
Sadly, the Republicans aren't too far behind since politics by it's very nature attracts cronies and power hungry goons. Hello Newt! Newt and McCain rose to power realizing that selling out their own constituencies was more profitable than serving them. I do _NOT_ expect to hear Newt or Romney address the racism of affirmative action and diversity hiring. Do not expect them to address the family destroying policies of family court and federal child-support legislation. Or IMBRA. We'll hear about gay marriage, abortion, national defense, and not raising taxes on the wealthy. Many of these are worthy causes but irrelevant to the daily lives of most of the people they want to show up at the polls.
Ned| 12.6.11 @ 11:32AM
picking nits here - the Constitution does NOT forbid Presidents "run(ning) for more than two consecutive terms..." - the word "consecutive" does not apply in the 22nd amendment... two terms, however sequenced... or a maximum of ten years if a vice president assumes the office and then runs on his own...
PolishKnight| 12.6.11 @ 12:32PM
You're right, it is a nit but you leave a few around yourself. The constitution does forbid it in addition to running for more than two non-consecutive terms. It's like someone nitpicking and saying that murdering someone with an icepick isn't illegal since murdering someone with ANYTHING is illegal.

Timothy,
Trebach's dementia is not of recent origin as you opine.
As with all Lenin and Stalin's "useful idiots," people like Trebach never accept responsibility for the consequences of their actions. Read "About the Author" and you will see that Trebach has been a gleeful participant in the destruction of the "African American" family for over fifty years.
Trebach states,
"All of us who voted for him had every right to expect that Barack Obama would head the most post-racial administration in history."
I am simply flabbergasted. How does an educated, supposedly intelligent man make a statement like that?
Imagine the level of insanity necessary for someone to become so enamored with the idea of electing a black president that they ignore everything else about the candidate.
Remember, over the span of years, this man served in the countries highest offices related to Civil Rights.
An educator in the necessity and success of affirmative action I'm certain Trebach believes it was only fair, not racist, to once again hand unearned success to a man like Obama. Sadly all his vote accomplished was to hand unearned and undeserved power to a man who is entirely evil.
Let history remember that Trebach examined two candidates for president. One was among other things a war hero and at least an honorable man. The other is the offspring of a loose woman and a "Black" man from another country. A man who brags of past drug use and whose mentors were Marxists and Communists. A man whose friends and political allis were and are criminals and Anti-American terrorists. A man who attended a racist church for over twenty years and ensured his daughters were instilled with racist ideology.
A hypocrite and fool of monumental proportions, after electing Obama to the office of the President simply because he was black, Trebach laments Obama's failure to usher in a world where "There would be no discrimination in favor of one race over another, certainly not the black race over the white."
A walking parody of good intentions gone awry, for Trebach to conceptualize and grasp the damage he has caused by his racist philosophies is to confront a paradigm shift that would utterly destroy him. Never in all my adult life have I read something that more clearly demonstrates the vacuous stupidity and utter failure of liberalism.
As far as I'm concerned, Trebach and others of his ilk are useless human fecal matter that should be wiped off the shoes of our collective history and forgotten.
Timothy L. Pennell| 12.6.11 @ 6:53PM
You are correct. Especially when you say that Trebach is a walking parody of good intentions gone awry. That is the Devil in the details, when it comes to the Mental Disorder we call - Liberalism. It tugs at people's Heart strings, because its' very nature defies Logic.

Obama both hates Whites and wishes to be percieved as White -- much as my youngest sister both hates rich people while vainly desiring to be rich (not to BECOME rich, mind you; to BE rich). Hence his schizoid behaviour vis-a-vis Whites. He is not unlike the disabled people who sue the Atlanta Marathon for the right to participate in the mainstream race as opposed to that race designated for the disabled. Saying So, as Daddy used to observe, dont make it so. And if the cat has kittens in the oven, that dont make them biscuits.
Said sister did have a perceptive moment during the aftermath of the OJ trial, when she observed that OJ had really lost by winning *because now he cant be White anymore*. Sic transit gloria Obama.

That does appear to be the case. Perhaps we’re more cynical. I left Chicago in 1971, never to return to the city that exudes corruption and crony capitalism. To expect that its political cesspool would produce anything other than venal, shallow players whose base instincts motivate every thought and action during their waking day and fill their dreams at night is astounding.
To say simply that the man is an empty suit -- he is, in that he’s the least experienced person in any room he enters -- overlooks the fact that he provides cover for his henchmen to do their bad deeds at Justice, HHS, the NLRB, and the rest of the federal alphabet.
But as long as he’s got nice words to read from his teleprompter, there will be those who fawn over him, projecting all that is good and wholesome into their vessel of hope.
It’s durn near psychotic, no?

Dear Mr. Trebach:
Cry? Let's get this straight once and for all! The people who knew that Obama was a farce didn't vote for him. They didn't cry during his inaguration, and they're not cry now! They're mad, mad as a Georgia coon hound that's been nipped by a Raccoon. They knew exactly what was in store and they despise the man. Name any case you'd like since Obama has become president, and it's an utter failure. A peice of trash lives in the White House, and his wife is no better. Coke snortin', main-lining, dope smoking peice of trash. Cain deserved more respect. Get this fact, Mr. Trebach, those of us in the trenches, who pay for this debacle of a government, will not stand by and see it used as dog-waste.
Pecos Pete| 12.6.11 @ 8:41AM
Mr. Trebach: You voted for King O? Oh my.
And you guys in the think tanks that populate the DC world believe you are so smart. You believe you are so much smarter than us poor people out here in fly-over country who attended junior colleges and state universities.
Oh my. We are really up a creek without a paddle. Golly gee, even I could tell King O was a charlatan, a liar and a loser before he was elected ... and I never worked at the White House which has been overrun with criminals since day one.
Didn't you even suspect that, with the grand display of Roman columns at the victory party in Denver, there might be something a wee bit strange about this guy?
I really do hate to say this, but you and others like you are a BIG part of the problem we face now, and will be struggling with for the rest of our lives.

"The danger to America is not Barack Obama but a citizenry capable of entrusting
a man like him with the Presidency... Blaming the prince of the fools should not
blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince. The
Republic can survive a Barack Obama, who is, after all, merely a fool. It is less
likely to survive a multitude of fools such as those who made him their president."

No , it's why those on welfare should not be allowed to vote . My Grandad said that in 1955 and it's even more poignant today .

The president isn't racist--he just hates white conservative, liberty loving, Americans, whom he believes has ruined Eden and made the Third World the dump that it is. If you are white and kiss his @ss and say "we are guilty, please enslave us!" then you will get along fine. And although he hates whites, I suspect he doesn't like Latinos, Asians, or or authentic black Americans either, including his wife who he treats like a piece of furniture.
PolishKnight| 12.6.11 @ 9:45AM
One of the strange paradoxes of the leftist culture is that they worship Western Europe and spend so much time with whites including Obama who golfs up at Martha's vineyard while bashing whites in the states and now even in Europe. It's political dogma out of control.
The average leftist cynically endorsed white male bashing back in the early 70's as the left sought to recruit women and non-whites to save their socialist agenda. When patriotic Americans were fighting in a cold war, the only place you could find non-patriotic Americans would be those who were in the minority. Literally. Minorities are going to feel like outsiders and when you want to take the inside down, get outsiders even if you have to import them.
The goal was that if they could win elections with just enough minorities while retaining useful idiot whites who voted out of loyalty to FDR, etc. then they could get their utopia. But deep down they realized that the utopia would never come about and they were building a Stalinist crony republic and then they simply only cared about being on the winning side.
The average leftist is a sellout who wants to be on the winning team at all costs and they define the winning team as the one that's the most ruthless and cynical, like themselves. They'll even accept being on the winning team if that winning team sells them out. It's better than being on the losing team and sold out.
Peppermint, Obama isn't racist or ideological. He's simply an affirmative action hire happy to get a slice of the pie although he does believe in the ideology because it's what got him his benefits. This is why his healthcare plan was a boondoggle. He knows that it won't work and will likely even hurt the leftist cause for years to come. He's getting kickbacks for his family and friends for decades to come from it.

If I may, please let me add to the messages here directed to Mr. Trebach.
I, too, am a little disconcerted at a man who says in his little bio that he worked at the White House (obvously pre Obama Administration), yet voted for him.
Sure, the admission of voting for Obama here will earn anyone a heaping portion of blog derision.
Rightly so.
Either vote for McCain (with his excessive warts) or don't vote at all. Or maybe a token write-in person of merit.
But to weep?
I had nothing but deep reverberating anger in me. I'd listened & suffered all the way through 8 or 9 Obama campaign speeches. Every word.
I tried to give him the benefit of some doubt, but all I had was head-splitting serious doubts -- and disbelief.
Disbelief that one so unqualified, so inexperienced, so beyond his simple human capabilities would and could ascend to the most trusted office in our land.
Mr. Trebach, you are simply a fool. It is nice that ASO permits you a space here to write. But I have to ask: Have you grown up a little? Has your mind finally kicked in? At what point did it?
It is not enough to have job resume with lots of bells and whistles on it. A man needs discernment.
rd| 12.6.11 @ 10:17AM
I just looked at Trebach's photo. Oh my! I take it all back. There's no hope, none at all. He's an OLD, aged fool.
What America did you grow up in, stupid?
The America that I know -- the real America -- is not racist. Hasn't been for 45-50 years already most places.
You can mostly do and play and be just as you want. People accept one another for friends and good colleagues and neighbors based on whether or not you're a good person. Nobody -- NOBODY - cares about skin color.
And I've been in nearly every state now. Even several U.S. territories. So I know whereof I write.
You're a dolt, Mr. Trebach.
Yes, that IS what we care about in the U.S.: A person's intellect, smarts, work ethic, inner goodness, good neighborly conduct, personal manners.
If those are in order, a man or woman is accepted and WANTED and hugged and embraced everywhere.
So what were you thinking in fall of year 2008? 1968 might be different. But now? No way. Racism: The topic of simpletons.

We have no genuine original birth certificate, just certificates of live birth printed or made up recently. We do not know anthing about his younger years growing up in Indonesia and whether he was adopted by his stepfather Lolo Soetoro and became an Indonesian citizen. We know nothing of his education and grades. Nothing of his Admissions criteria. We are not even sure his SS # is valid. All we know is he is a Community Organizer and a Saul Alynski acolyte whose purpose is destruction of America. The thing that kills me was the "hype" that surrounded the candidate-in-chief from the beginning.
Obama never said he'd be "post-racial" or the like. The media cheerleaders, MSNBC in particular, built this guy up from day one. In an interview with Chris Matthews, one commentator even referred to him as "post-American" and "like God." They pretended not to notice things staring them right in the face: His association with people like The Reverend Jerimiah "GD American" Wright, the race-baiting and Jew-hating Farrakhan, the marxist Marshall Davis, criminals like Bill Ayres and Resco. They looked the other way and pretended not to hear Obama refer to his own Grandmother as a "typical white person." And they probably agreed with Michelle when she declared that "for the first time in her life" she was proud of her country.
Did the author not pick up on any of this during the 2008 campaign. Were the rose-colored glasses really that fogged up?
And Obama's uber-narcisism was pretty glaring when he gave his, "the Earth healed, and the ocean levels ceased to rise" speech.
There is some hope, though, as even Chris Matthews now understands that the commander in chief is nothing more than an empty suit that only excells in two areas: His ability to read a teleprompter and his ability to agitate a mob vis a vis class warfare.
Pat| 12.6.11 @ 4:01PM
The Bruce: I suspect Obama was as dumbfounded as Conservatives were over the emotional outpouring which blew unabated throughout his entire campaign and on into his early presidency. But Liberals and their mouthpieces, the Democrats, are a different breed of political cat. “Thrill me!” is their typical reaction to a Hope and Change type candidate and when, as an added bonus, you throw in a racial minority they tend to lose all self-control. Conservatives, on the other hand, don’t easily fall in and out of love with their presidents – Bush was OK, but just OK, nothing special. Caution and suspicion characterize a Conservative’s attitude toward any politician – “Get your lips away from my child” is the more typical reaction to a baby kissing candidate on their part and never “you’re my savior”.
But, curiously enough, the hysterical awe, the servile worship, the incessant jock sniffing among media types also goes hand in hand with a manic greed. Taking money from other people and giving it to themselves is the unmistakable mark of the genus “Liberal Democraticus”. The lesson Conservatives need to learn is the hysterical emotionalism masks a virulent greed and a well rationalized selfishness. So, while we’re telling our fellow American voters “I told you so”, we need to remember the Liberals under Obama have been apologizng all the way to their bank.

I am of the opnion that all you people beating up on Arnold Trebach would do well to remember several things. For one, he, though eloquent here, is elderly and the rush of events 2007-2009 overwhelmed people a lot more spry than him. Also, he delivered a passionate plea for justice in testimony to the Civil Rights Commission. Would you also like to trash Bartle Bull, who also was a champion of the Civil Rigts movement 40 years ago? These people are not Democrat Party operatives, nor communists.
When they weep, thy weep for their country, not Obama personally or for left-wing causes. It is for others to be vindictive, to do the hard work of righting wrongs. Trebach is merely calling out to people's better angels. He may be playing to an empty hall, but h is not the villain of this piece.
Maddox| 12.7.11 @ 12:15AM
Mr. Trebach may be a champion of civil rights but Obama is not. It would be wise for him to study Barrack again and see him for what he is, not what he wishes he were.
If we are hard on him, we are justified by the blatant actions and words Obama has used to set race relations back, all for his own selfish reasons at great harm to America. It is apparent to all who wish to see.
rd| 12.7.11 @ 4:55AM
Mr. Montgomery, you are writing well above, but you are defending a man whose written piece cannot be defended.
And you seem to not understand the largesse and waste of government that has occured thoughout your life. One aspect of daily waste is full-time, on the clock, PAID civil rights employees within your government who lie and distort information and statistics DAILY.
There is no reason to get all tingled in January 2009 over race in America. Nor in campaign 2008. If Mr. Trebach is a real man he would give back all the taxpayer money he's been earning in his adult life. He would give it back because he's been stealing it from us. He's been stealing it because he has faked doing a job that doesn't need doing.
Like his writing here, Mr. Trebach's life deeds are defenseless.
Note: I harbor no hope that Mr. Trebach, should he read this, would return even one cent to the U.S. taxpayers. Dishonesty is the middle name of so many government workers, particularly in this field.

That agenda is the destruction of traditional America. The fact that he is not very competant,
after all he had to turn over the administration of his programs to dumb and dumber, Pelosi and Reid to fulfill, should tell everyone how smart the
"smartest President of our time" really is. During the next year this disaster of a President will do everything he can to do harm to this country. On the other hand his constant bleeting about tax fairness has been exposed since it now is pretty well know that 47% of our population pay zero taxes and in fact many of those receive money back they have never earned. Ken,
I am starting to think our comfortable and righteous 2nd Amendment default position is a tissue paper shield, and that all our macho bluster will vaporize upon contact with whoever "they" send to further enslave us.
I wonder whether we will take up arms against our police and military, as they are not an elite "Republican Guard", but our neighbors and kids.
Of course, they would have to obey those orders for the issue to be truly tested.
rf| 12.7.11 @ 4:46AM
Ken and Skippy, therein lies the problem. Skippy leads us right to it.
Our U.S. military has never been used against our own people with the obvious exception of events leading up to the Civil War and the war itself. Kent State was national guard, but nonetheless an absolute aberration.
Ken, would you be able to pull the trigger on a 21 year old or 28 year old in your driveway? (you'd probably be trying to shout to them, to keep verbally warning them off)
All of us are wise enough to know that the SWAT teams are given imperfect mission orders, very imperfect information as to why they must conduct an assault/attack. The youngish guys who will storm your home are not the masterminds or leaders. The real directors are miles away from your home or property when it will come to this scenario.
Most of us will probably just give up, give in. Grudgingly, trying to appeal to our assailants' better thinking. One, what good is it to wound two of theirs (and they are really "ours") when their 20th or 30th round will strike you dead. Two, if you're dead, how do you then somehow further help your family? Three, maybe there can be a miraculous better outcome where the government leaders order a stand down/mission cease.
Yes, I like the 2d Amendment as well. Very much so. It helps us against criminals. But it will do very little to aid us --- in reality -- if and when a government directive is made to round up a certain segment(s) of the population.
Ken (Old Texican)| 12.8.11 @ 12:09PM
rf,
first of all, we are a deterrent. Second, I would not shoot young men in a uniform in my driveway.
There are approximately a hundred communist "bosses". Given extremis, I wouldn't be at home...but taking careful aim at them...on their driveways, as would a hundred million other patriots.
The second ammendment is what terrified the communists in Russia...
Heh, we are all armed to the teeth.

Dr. X| 12.6.11 @ 1:24PM
Well, this article quite clearly demonstrates THE problem. It's not Obama and his naked racial divisiveness. After all, we can't expect the leopard to change its spots.
The REAL problem is white liberal Washington insiders like Trebach who are blinded by self-delusion. They are narcissists who projected their own hopes onto Obama because they believed that their commitment to "civil rights" made them morally superior to stupid, pickup-driving, gun-toting, filthy, declasse, outside-the-Beltway-flyover-country white trash like me.
So Obama's actual qualifications and track record meant nothing. The ability of Trebach and his ilk to pat themselves on the back after weeping for joy at Obama's inauguration meant everything.

Putting forth an effort to improve race relations seems out of the question for President Obama.
He will not risk the 95% of the black voting block he received in 2008. Blacks have about zero interest in any efforts to improve race relations. Blacks control the negative state of race relations, and only blacks can start the ball rolling in the direction of racial harmony, racial unity and bringing blacks & whites colser together.
Please Mr. President, show some real guts, help us unite.
WGMOW| 12.8.11 @ 5:21AM
What's so pathethic about Obama is that he is NOT BLACK. He is mixed race, and being 50% white could have with equal truthfulness called himself white. However, he well knew that he had no qualifications to be preseident at all unless he could lay down the race card.
So it is also with the self-exaulted Henry Louis Gates, so-called "black" Havard professor. In a PBS examination of his DNA he came up about 70% white. He bemoaned that fact, saying "Oh no I'm white" the video clip of which has basically disappeared from TV and the internet.
The point is that all these race hustlers like Obama and Gates know they have nothing to offer unless they can pretend to be a Negro man.

The actual deeper truth is this: for most of our lives, being half-black (or even less than half) was enough to prevent a man from achieving the Presidency. There was no question of "self-identifying" with one group or another. It didn't matter if your daddy came from Selma, AL or from Dar Es Salaam. You could join the Republican party, graduate from Harvard, and "act white" all you wanted to. None of that meant anything. If you looked black, you WERE black. And the majority of Americans would not vote for you. A black candidate was, by definition, not electable. Those few black people who ran for President over the years knew they couldn't win and didn't expect to. They were just making a gesture.
So enough rubbish about Obama not really being black. According to American history and culture, he is black. His election was an important milestone in the evolution of American society. I can understand black people weeping for joy - maybe even some hypersensitive white people.
Unfortunately, Obama is a Progressive, a racialist, and a bad politician. I don't think his skills as a local "community organizer" scale very well to the national level. In Chicago, he was a well-oiled component of the political machine. In Washington there are two machines - the one he's part of and the other one which is trying to destroy him politically. I don't think he knows how to deal with it.
I wish he'd been a different character with different politics. Black, certainly, but different.
