Is this for real or some kind of a joke?
Drudge Ette Obama| 12.5.11 @ 7:21AM
It is for real.
I also signed up for emails (keep thy enemy close) and have gotten some pretty weird overly personal emails from Obama and Michelle.
It is right out of Move-On.org's email playbook. I wouldn't be surprised if the same people are writing these emails. The author is right on target.
Very unpresidential and very-Obama-like.
beebop2| 12.5.11 @ 5:33PM
Send them a response four or five times laced heavily with obscenities and they will stop. Worked for me!
Trish| 12.5.11 @ 10:12PM
I also signed up for the propaganda. Every so often I will send a snarky reply. Then I get back a computer generated 'way to get on the team' response. I think if the O's had dinner with me and 'my guest', they would lose their cookies. No, wait, I would probably lose mine.

No, really, he is copying the greetings you get from Obama and Michelle. Now it's down to $5 for a try. That's what MoveOn did in the 2008 election...lots of small donations from the little people.

Mr. Lott, please stop referring to our country as a democracy. We are a Representative Republic. There is a huge difference and our Founding Fathers warned against the folly of democracy.

Actually I believe we were a Representative Republic that has become a democracy, leading to the mess we are in now.

Trish| 12.5.11 @ 10:18PM
Okay, I have to weigh in on this. For the most part I like her fashion when she dresses in tailored simplicity. However, when she goes in for the dirndle skirts they make her look like the broad side of a barn. I am not at all a fan, but I think she is quite lovely (until she speaks the neo-marxist crap).
Drudge Ette Obama| 12.6.11 @ 6:46AM
Personally, I have seen enough lotioned flesh of Michelle. She has an awkward gait and bad posture. Her silly too-small sweaters, dumpy skirts, loud colors, and flat shiny shoes bug me.
There have been a couple of outfits - usually black and simple, as you note, that flatter her. But her instinct/culture always brings her back to loud tacky.
She is no fashion maven. And neither is Hillary, who is starting to look like a bag woman.
Ecco La| 12.17.11 @ 2:52AM
Well, we knew when she showed up in Peter Pan collars when Hussein was a candidate that she was attempting to channel Jackie Kennedy. Who the hell over the age of 5 has worn a Peter Pan collar since 1965?! Right off you knew the woman was a phony and had no taste. The REAL Jackie would never had tried to be someone else because she was a woman of refined and exquisite personal taste. Miz YoMamma showed her true colours (not to mention her skills in geography) when she showed up for an event with the Spanish ambassador dressed like a Mexican pinata. But my hands-down favorite was the First Couple's visit to meet with British Royalty. Kate was dressed in a discrete and elegant tan sheath dress with simple black pumps, the Queen was in a simple cotton floral print frock with simple black pumps, and Their American Cuzin showed up wearing the curtains: electric pink and blue metallic silk satin outfit with metalic silver strappy fuck-me-pump stilletos!!
Jackie Kennedy was a woman of grace and elegance, and she was a lifelong Republican. Bet La Jackie was laughing her tiny little derriere off observing the First Wannabe from her perch in the clouds!

Saturday morning? Bam! From the moment the clock strikes 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. there's no goin' near the phone. Its the same Republican rascals calling up, hassling, wanting to steal more donation money from me.
All these whiny claims that "This time we're really going to take back Washington! This time we'll put the nation's house in order!"
(just like they been a pleadin' for 25 years now)
They said that when Trent Lott was in; Denny Hastert; they said the same when Bill Frist was there. As kids say, Yadayadayadyayada.
And it is grossly impolite when they call up and use my first name.

After reading this essay & the postings so far I am still amazed that this is not a gag.
The email headings are creepy & scary. Scary that these persons represent us to the rest of the world. This is another example of why liberalism is a mental disorder.
rd| 12.5.11 @ 9:28AM
PJ, go easy. This is a slow news day at ASO. They have little to do until we get something breaking like a Bernie Madoff-Newt Hedge Fund for Hospitals Charity story.
So...something like this piece works on a slow Monday. Don't be so "creeped out." If we used just anyone's latest three dozen email subject lines and tried to discern & judge content, could we?
Biden's "My wife" could be a note praising her as he talks about her efforts on behalf of troops and veterans or her lending name and time for an upcoming cancer gala (while inviting you to chip in, too).
The "I've been there" email could focus on how we all must now man up and face the challenges of our day.
No, I am not a Biden fan. I wish an Atlantic shoreline shark had gobbled him for lunch years ago. But this is shallow journalism. If these "blast" messages to 398,000 people are truly so creepy, then show us the whole content of the email messages. Then we'll judge.
Can't judge from subject lines.
Don't read too much into this.
sotto voce| 4.25.12 @ 2:42PM
I receive these emails too, and believe me the content matches the vacuous subject lines. One of my favorites, for example, came from "Barack", the subject line was "Hey" and the content consisted of the profound question "Are you in?". That was it. Disturbing on many levels: What kind of people write things like this? How can the President of the United States and his minions think this is OK? What does it say about how the President and his campaign view his constituents?

I also signed up and can vouch that the emails have a very creepy familiarity but that's because I'm not a needy idiot.

What creeps me out is imagining what our system of government must look like from afar – say through the eyes of a sane person residing within a Tibetan monastery. This author is trying to make a point about Obama and Biden, that part we definitely got, but what is his point exactly and what does it have to do with our government? Americans and their “best system of government on earth” – a strange and slightly psychotic love-hate relationship.
Today, for example, we celebrate “Eric Holder is a Big Fat Liar” Day. According to the NY Post, Attorney General Holder knew all about guns being shipped to Mexican drug cartels courtesy of the American taxpayers, even though he has vehemently denied knowing anything about his own authorized operation. Which in and of itself is bizarre to the point of voluntarily watching “The Rocky Horror Show” at least 57 times and then planning to see it again in the near future. We’re shipping guns to Mexican drug cartels – what on earth for? And what sane adult would ever sanction such an action?
Congress currently is and has been diligently investigating this particular operation among others, which Congress seems to do every day they’re in session – apparently a lot of what our government does requires constant investigation. Strangely enough, nothing ever comes out of these investigations – no improvements, no one in government is punished or can be punished under our existing laws.
We’re supposed to be angry that Mexican and American citizens were killed with guns purchased by our government utilizing taxpayer funds so as to emphasize how lax our American gun laws are. But for those Americans who hate the thought that anyone is allowed to own a firearm, our government’s actions seem perfectly reasonable, albeit a little clumsy in execution. So, as a people, we’re divided over the question of whether Mexican and American citizens should be arbitrarily killed to support a political agenda? Maybe this author’s point is that we really are mildly insane relative to how we view our government and just don’t realize it.
SpiralArchitect| 12.5.11 @ 1:40PM
Pat re: your comment:
We’re shipping guns to Mexican drug cartels – what on earth for? And what sane adult would ever sanction such an action?
The subversion of a nation can be done without violence. However it is much quicker & provides a great distraction for other subversive (and fraudulent) activities.
Forget not Alinksy & Marx. One needs to create an issue then isolate it as a means to control the proltariate. Think of the onset of OWS and how wonderful cover ( re: distraction) it has provided for what has been transpiring since it's inception in this nation - yes, that includes Solydra & Fast & Furious Congressional investigations.
Have a nice day. :/

"Republicant presidents were as guilty or more so than any democrat, including Obama"
(Pimplepus | 12.2.11 @ 4:11PM)
"This is just a typical ordinary example of why you are an idiot.
And pathetic.
And despicable.
And stupid.
And a liar.
The Office of Management and Budget, at whitehouse.gov/omb/, which I've only cited here slightly less times than dollars the nation is in debt, shows the information.
Presidents take office with that existing year's budget already established by the preceding year's House of Representatives, as the House of Representatives are constitutionally tasked with establishing spending and taxes, and the budget showing an accounting of them.
I've broken each president into two terms, the years they actually served their term, and the years they served offset the one year to account for the budgets when they served, the budgets determined by the House of Representatives, which I've referred to as budget term.
Reagan term 1981-1989:
$1.338557 trillion deficit
Reagan budget term 1982-1990:
$1.412228 trillion deficit
Bush I term 1989-1993:
$0.933234 trillion deficit
Bush I budget term 1990-1994:
$1.035646 trillion deficit
Bush II term 2001-2009:
$2.005615 trillion deficit
Bush II budget term 2002-2010:
$3.546539 trillion deficit
The House of Representatives, who are responsible for the budget, was democrat all 8 years of the Reagan term.
The House of Representatives was democrat all 4 years of the Bush I term.
The House of Representatives was democrat the last 2 years of the 8 years of the Bush II term.
52.8% of the Bush II term deficit was the last 2 years of the democrat controlled House of Representatives.
47.2 % of the Bush II term deficit was the first 6 years of the republican controlled House of Representatives.
I've broken each president into two terms, one actual years and one offset a year for the budget, because Obama added his stimulus to the last year of the Bush II budget term in 2010, which even a stupid lying idiot such as Pimplepus can admit is Obama's deficit even though it is in Bush II's last year.
Reagan, Bush I, Bush II terms 20 years:
$4.277406 trillion deficit
Reagan, Bush I, Bush II budget terms 20 years:
$5.994413 trillion deficit
This under $6 trillion total deficit for all 20 years of Reagan, Bush I, Bush II includes Obama stimulus deficit included in the last Bush II year.
Obama term 2009-2011:
$4.351296 trillion deficit
Obama budget term 2010-2011:
$2.938608 trillion deficit
Reagan, Bush I, Bush II terms 20 year average per year:
$0.213870 trillion deficit
Reagan, Bush I, Bush II budget terms 20 year average per year:
$0.299721 trillion deficit
Obama term 3 year average per year:
$1.450432 trillion deficit
Obama budget term 2 year average per year:
$1.469304 trillion deficit
The Obama $1.469304 trillion average deficit per year over 2 years is more than 490% higher than the Reagan, Bush I, Bush II $0.299721 trillion aveage deficit per year over 20 years.
The Obama $4.351296 trillion 3 year deficit is higher than the Reagan, Bush I, Bush II $4.277406 trillion 20 year deficit.
2007, the last Bush II year with a republican controlled House of Representatives:
$0.160701 trillion deficit
2011, the last Obama year with a democrat controlled House of Representatives:
$1.645119 trillion deficit
The Obama $1.645119 trillion deficit in the last year of the democrat controlled House in 2011 is more than 1,023% higher than the Bush II $0.160701 trillion deficit in the last year of the republican controlled House in 2007.
Clinton term 1993-2001:
$0.320383 trillion deficit
Clinton budget term 1994-2002:
$0.062904 trillion surplus
The House of Representatives, who are responsible for determining the budget, was republican controlled the last 6 of the 8 years of the Clinton term.
The first 2 years of the democrat controlled House of Representatives of the Clinton term was a $0.367138 trillion deficit.
The last 6 years of the republican controlled House of Representatives of the Clinton term was a $0.430042 trillion surplus.

Hahaha ....
YEAH....THAT DARN OBAMA SPENDING...
National Debt Increased by 75% under Bush:
2001 - $5.871 trillion
2008 - $10.640 trillion
National Debt Increased 25% Under Obama:
Jan 31st 2009 = $10.569-Trillion
Jan 31st 2011 = $14.131-Trillion
But of the $3.56-trillion increase, 98% was carry over from Bush programs:
Bush: $910-billion = Interest on Debt 2009/2011
Bush: $360-billion = Iraq War Spending 2009/2011
Bush: $319-billion = TARP/Bailout Balance from 2008 (as of May 2010)
Bush: $419-billion = Bush Recession Caused Drop in taxes
Bush: $190-billion = Bush Medicare Drug Program 2009/2011
Bush: $211-billion = Bush Medicare Part-D 2009/2011
Bush: $771-billion = Bush Tax Cuts 2009/2011
Bush's contributions:
2001 to 2008: $4.769-trillion
2009 to 2010: $3.181-trillion
Total: $7.950-trillion
Increase Since 2001 = $14.131 - $5.871 = $8.26-Trillion
Bush's contribution: $7.950-trillion / $8.26-Trillion = 96%
Obama contribution: $580-billion= Stimulus Spending (as of Dec 2010).
Increase caused By Bush's Programs: 96%
Increase caused by Obama's Programs: 4%
And, if you are capable of reading a chart, you can see that the whole National Debt Debacle started with Ronald "Deficits Don't Matter" Reagan... http://nation.foxnews.com/us-d...../chart-day ... for added measure from a news source you trust - Fox News.
See, I can do it too, and your numbers mean as much as mine ... but you should check out the chart from Fox News ... Since Reagan, Republicants haven't cared about deficits or deficit spending and the National Debt has gone almost straight up. The only surplus we've had in 30 years was during the Democratic President Clinton years.
Now, if you know how a bill (or budget) moves through Congress, then you know that although originating in the House, the Senate can modify and the President can veto any bill or budget they choose. So, when a President signs the budget, it is HIS budget, regardless of who is in Congress. Otherwise, by your line of mis-guided thinking, John Boehner is producing a huge budget deficit this year and next, now isn't he?
Collective bargaining leads to Totalitarianism and Tyranny? Where'd you pick up that garbage? Collective bargaining is the right of of the workers to bargain with their employers as a unit, rather than separately for wages and benefits - which gave this country the great middle class, paid vacations, sick leave, good salaries, etc. How is that tyranny exactly again?
Seems you need do some homework Sunshine...

You mean, you have no rebuttal, not even one pathetically and despicably based on stupid lies, like you constantly post, like an idiot? Really?
Purpleguy| 12.6.11 @ 1:26PM
I didn't say that I trust Fixed News - but YOU do .. so look at the chart they provided ... even it tells the story of the Republicant disregard for fiscal responsibility, regardless of all your chatter and blather. Republicants never worried about paying for anything, until a Democrat was in the White House and the American people know it. It is interesting that you trust the government numbers - are you supposed to do that? I'm surprised your head didn't explode.
Not sure what kind of rebuttal you expect to your bloviating, but no need to rebut the facts I've already stated. True to Fixed News form, you extract snippets out of context and go off half-cocked ranting and raving ... I really get to you, don't I? Have a nice day ...

I know you are a pathetic despicable stupid lying idiot.
Every reader with any intelligence or any honesty whatsoever knows you are a pathetic despicable stupid lying idiot.
Even the most rabid emotionally prattling liberal posters here at AmSpec don't defend or support your posts, but instead ignore them, likely because even they admit, to themselves at least, that you are a pathetic despicable stupid lying idiot.
This is documentation of what a pathetic despicable stupid lying idiot you are, even for a liberal.
Idiot - albeit seemingly incompatible with reason and experience itself - useful idiot.

I used to get those emails from Barack and Michelle at least twice a week, asking for me to throw money at them -- and this was two years ago. I simply blocked them and haven't had a peep clogging my inbox.

Tyranny, oppressing liberty, in the form of totalitarianism, including socialism, communism, fascism, and naziism occurs when collective rights are absolute, when the extemely thin line is as far 'left' as possible.
Purpleguy specifically, and liberals generally, consistently reveal they lack the reason and experience to determine what social, political, and economic rights are.

"Tyranny, oppressing liberty, in the form of totalitarianism, including socialism, communism, fascism, and naziism occurs when collective rights are absolute, when the extemely thin line is as far 'left' as possible." - What kind of drivel is that? Hitler, Stalin, even General Tojo totalitarians, but who had any rights under their regimes? Left or Right, totalitarianism is a dictatorship - no one but the dictator has any rights. Who wrote that hogwash anyway? Was that Hayek? That fool... or maybe more foolish is those that believe that crap. And, "I" lack reason? Pfft...

Both Obamas have an overwhelming desire to be everybody's momma and daddy. They can not conceive that a lot of people consider themselves grown up already and they are NOT needed. But their electoral base wants the freebies and they will go along to get them. Wildly corrupt.

I can't stand how all of a sudden Michelle is smiling all the time after 3+years of subway face, eg, looking pissed.
