Heroes Forgotten, Lessons Unlearned

Protest mob’s Marxist mentality conjures Cold War memories.

Kids who visit the park in Douglasville, Georgia, just call it “Hunter Park,” although its proper name is Hunter Memorial Park, and most of the children running around the soccer fields and picnic areas never stop to study the monument that pays tribute to the park’s namesake. He was voted “Most Talented” his senior year at Douglas County High School, where he won acclaim for his artistic abilities, starred in the school play and was editor of the student yearbook, but his name is not well known today, when he would have been 70 years old.

Robert Gerald “Jerry” Hunter left his native Douglas County to attend the Citadel, where he graduated with honors. He joined the Air Force, became a fighter pilot, and was deployed to Vietnam. On May 25, 1966, Hunter was on his 34th combat mission when his F-105 jet was shot down near the Laotian border. He bailed out — his comrades saw the parachute — and it was initially believed that he had survived. The 25-year-old pilot was listed as missing in action, and the Air Force promoted him from first lieutenant to captain while rescuers searched for him. Hunter’s family, including his young bride Laura, prayerfully waited for word that he had been recovered safely. Seven weeks later, however, the sad news came that his remains had been found in Laos, where he had apparently died of injuries. First Baptist Church in Douglasville overflowed with mourners at his funeral and local businesses closed early that afternoon in honor of Captain Hunter, Douglas County’s first casualty in the Vietnam War. Hunter Memorial Park was dedicated a year later, when I was in second grade, and I remember as a boy reading his name on the monument at the park.

We’ve seen a lot of news lately about young men in parks, but I doubt if folks down home would tolerate any “Occupy Douglasville” protesters in Hunter Park. Jerry Hunter died fighting against communism, after all, and it would be a disgrace to his heroic memory to have the park named in his honor “occupied” by mobs that are clearly Marxist in orientation, if not in name. And if nobody else understands what motivates these protests, certainly the Communists do. “An epic battle is underway for the direction of our country,” the Communist Party USA declared last month. “The Occupy movement is not alone.… We stand with the courageous young people who have sparked this movement and join with the occupiers who are putting themselves on the line to transform our nation and achieve a secure and sustainable future. … The time has come to put people before profits.”

There was a time — not really so long ago — when a ringing endorsement from CPUSA would have been the kiss of death for any political movement in America. Twenty years after the collapse of the Soviet Union, however, the anti-communist sentiments of the Cold War seem as obsolete as the F-105 fighter-bomber (finally mothballed by the Air Force in 1984), while a vaguely Marxist mentality inspires headline-making protests from coast to coast. I say “vaguely Marxist” because most of the demonstrators seem incapable of articulating any coherent ideology or agenda beyond a hatred of the rich, hatred of corporations and banks, and hatred of whomever or whatever else they associate with the “1%” against whom they rant and chant: “We are the 99 percent!”

Since these protests began Sept. 17 in New York as Occupy Wall Street, their demonization of the “1%” has been echoed by major national news organizations that strive to ignore the numerous incidents of criminality amid the mob. Even the documented presence of heroin dealers, arsonists, rapists and murderers among the Occupiers is not enough to discredit the movement in the eyes of liberals like Rep. Maxine Waters. “That’s life and it happens, whether it’s with protesters or other efforts that go on in this country,” the California Democrat told CNSNews last week. “So I’m not deterred in my support for them because of these negative kinds of things.” Nor did the Occupy movement lose its liberal friends due to the raving anti-Semitism of protesters who spew hatred toward “Jewish billionaires.” No matter how many criminals and psychotics cluster in the camps of the Occupiers, liberals refuse to repudiate these protests, evidently taking their cue from President Obama’s assertion last month that the movement “expresses the frustrations that the American people feel.”

Expressions of frustrations didn’t get a sympathetic hearing at the White House when the American people feeling frustrated were Tea Partiers rallying across the country in opposition to the administration’s left-wing agenda. Not even the “shellacking” of last year’s mid-term elections could convince Democrats to abandon their class-warfare ideology. Capitol Hill is still deadlocked because Democrats insist that deficit reduction must mean more taxes for the rich and less money for defense, rather than removing a single cent from the out-of-control entitlement programs that threaten to bankrupt the nation. The liberal media, of course, would have us blame the budget stalemate on Republican intransigence, but distorted perceptions have become the media’s stock in trade.

The same news organizations that scapegoat conservatives for the failures of the not-so-super “supercommittee” are also busy trying to convince Americans that the Occupiers are a non-violent mainstream movement, no matter how extreme their rhetoric or violent their actions. Sunday’s Washington Post prominently featured an op-ed manifesto by the ideologues who claim credit for inspiring the Occupy movement, and the paper also offered Barbara Ehrenreich’s suggested reading list for the soi-disant “99 percent.” First on that list was A People’s History of the United States by former Communist Party comrade Howard Zinn. When the works of known Marxists are so highly recommended in the prestige press, as their way of showing solidarity with anti-capitalist street mobs, we might suspect many in the media have adopted the radical motto of French revolutionaries: Pas d’ennemis à gauche! “No enemies to the left” also evidently describes the posture of today’s Democratic Party, which has drifted so far leftward that the heirs of Marx and Engels might plausibly sue for copyright infringement.

Ideas have consequences, as Richard Weaver once warned, and one consequence of the Democrats’ embrace of left-wing ideas is that opposition to socialism has become “controversial,” as if economic freedom were an extremist concept or merely the narrow partisan agenda of Republicans. Simply telling the obvious truth about the Marxist orientation of the Occupy movement — a fact evident enough to the CPUSA — is sufficient to cause liberals to sound alarms about the danger of a return to “McCarthyism.” Liberal outrage, however, seems to depend entirely on who is witch-hunting whom. Advocates of free enterprise are now routinely besieged by the same Occupier mobs whose efforts are enthusiastically admired by the editors of the Washington Post. Two weeks ago, I found myself briefly surrounded by Occupy DC protesters attempting to storm the doors of an event sponsored by Americans for Prosperity. More recently, hundreds of Occupy Denver demonstrators descended on a hotel that was hosting a conference sponsored by FreedomWorks.

The encounter Nov. 11 at Denver’s Crowne Plaza Hotel proved an embarrassment for the Occupiers. The FreedomWorks event was a nationwide gathering of conservative bloggers and evidently the protesters weren’t prepared to confront scores of New Media activists armed with digital video cameras. One of the bloggers, Jim Hoft of Gateway Pundit, interviewed a teacher who apparently brought her students to participate in the Occupy Denver march on the Crowne Plaza. Celia Bard said the students from St. Mary’s Academy were merely there on a field trip to “observe” the protest: “We want them to see the democratic process in action.” But another blogger, Jeff Goldstein of Protein Wisdom, interviewed one of Bard’s students who seemed to contradict her teacher’s explanation. “You’re f—ing up our future,” the 17-year-old told Goldstein. “What do you think we learn at school? This is what we learned about.…We’re the 99 percent.”

That expression of Occupier sentiment, from a blonde teenager who attends an all-girls Catholic school where tuition is $14,000 a year, was as shocking to me as any report of criminal violence in the protest encampments. It prompted me to write a long contemplation about how so many American young people have been indoctrinated to regard the “New Left” radicals of the 1960s as heroes. What have these kids been taught about the history of that era? And perhaps more importantly, what have they not been taught?

While liberals were wringing their hands about the Occupier encampments being removed from parks in New York and other cities, memory called to my mind a monument in a park down home. That monument bears the name of a handsome Georgia boy voted “Most Talented” in his high school, a brave pilot who died fighting for freedom at age 25. Today children play in the park dedicated to his memory, and no one can doubt Douglas County gave her best in what John F. Kennedy called “a long twilight struggle” against the totalitarian menace of communism. Can such a sacrifice ever be forgotten, while our nation’s children are taught to admire draft-dodgers and Marxist agitators? If schools want to teach kids about heroes from the Sixties, they should take a field trip to Washington, D.C., where Robert G. Hunter is one of more than 58,000 names on a black granite wall.

It is time for the Republican Candidates for President to show where they actually do stand and what do they offer. This so called"Occupy Movement" needs to be exposed for what they are: a) Part of the Obama campaign b) the intention of violence and an attempt a takeover in government. These are not innocence. These are dedicated Marxist-Leninist fanatics. The incidence of violence and related criminal activity must be more openly discussed and exposed. The Presidential debates are the place to do them and that includes challenging the Media( the MSM ) lack of honesty.

Marko| 11.21.11 @ 12:05PM

I really don't think they are part of Obama's campaign. While they both may seem to spring from the same Communist roots, there is a LOT of anti-Obama sentiment in their chat rooms. They feel like Obama has abandoned them, especially with the huge bailouts that he gave to the large banks. This is larger than just "We want the Democrats to win in 2012!" Much larger.

Alan Brooks| 11.21.11 @ 8:13PM

You can't do better than the 2nd rate candidates you offer? You couldn't do better than Nixon, Ford, Bush, Bush, Dole and McCain?

Immortal600| 11.22.11 @ 10:59AM

Brooks, look at the other side of the coin, Obama, Kerry, Gore, Clinton, Dukakis, Mondale, Carter. You think any of those are above 2nd rate? It is a joke if you think so. I'll say Clinton was most pragmatic of the bunch and he is as immoral as they come.

Brian Mc| 11.21.11 @ 7:48AM

To compell us to picture OWS types traversing the pastoral environs of Hunter Park was a bit cruel. My resentment for all of them, and what they represent, flowered once I stopped choking back tears which the prospected vision had caused.

Alan Brooks| 11.21.11 @ 8:58PM

"once I stopped choking back tears..."

You are an emotional rube.
What resentment some us have for your candidates. No wonder the kids are angry, there's no future with your Perrys and Bachmanns and all the others.

David W| 11.21.11 @ 8:43AM

At what point do we conservatives and the only ones who love this country say enough? Do we stand by and let the MSM continue to hide the truth? To lie about what is really happening with the OWS and the Obama administration? Maybe those of us (including me) should watch the major networks, identify those companies who sponsor the obama propaganda shows, and then write to them to indicate that because of their support we will no longer buy their products. Maybe we can drive their sponsors away and starve the media out (or make them realize they need to kick out the liberal Karl Marxs and hire a few conservative Ronald Reagans).

VonMisesJr| 11.21.11 @ 9:13AM

PaulyD, please stop complaining and speak up. Political correctness has paralyzed people. Read Austrrian Economics (www.mises.org) and keep following great sites such as American Spectator.

If you understand the political fleecing of your generation through Fannie, Freddie, Solyndra, LightSquared, and all the insider trading by Pelosi, Kerry, Moran and even Boehner; then you can tell your friends how they are being hosed. But if you give up or shut up, you and your generation X &Y will not know free markets and liberty much longer.

I have a son and several nieces and nephews who get it, and you and your friends need to step up to create critical mass. That is the "CHANGE" you can believe in.

PaulyD| 11.21.11 @ 9:29AM

Did it sound like I was complaining? If so, I meant to only sound pessimistic. As a pessimist, I am either always right - or pleasantly surprised.

But that doesn't mean I've given up. I continue the fight. But as the only conservative in my family, who was educated in a Northeastern liberal shoool system, I realize how daunting the task is.

VonMisesJr| 11.21.11 @ 11:44AM

No offense intended PaulyD. You are winning much more than you know.

The progressives must be challenged daily. Just keep politely asking them questions that they cannot answer. It really ticks them off, and even if you don't change their minds, others are listening.

At Thanksgiving, kids in our family ten to twenty are curious and learning. They are much smarter than we often realize. And if you don't teach them, they won't learn the truth from our relatives on the left.

G0d bless you and your family on this Thanksgiving. Listen to Rush about Wednesday and he will surely tell the real story of Thanksgiving. The settlers were indenured servants paying their fare in a commune for typically three years service. They did not prosper until the leadership was frustrated and left them to perish. When left to their own means to support themselves and their families, they helped found the greatest nation in history. Capitalism and self-interest works every time it is tried.

Timothy L. Pennell| 11.21.11 @ 9:03AM

"I'm not an Ideologue. I'm not!"
Who can forget those Poetic words, spoken by the Great Deceiver? A man who's Philosophical Underpinnings come from a Book, with a Dedication to LUCIFER A man who was Raised, from just after birth, to age 11, in Muslim Indonesia, attending Muslim Schools and Mosques. A man who knelt on his Prayer Rug, facing Mecca, and prayed to a God of MURDER for Death to America and Death to the Jews. This is FACT. It is also FACT, that the Koran specifically allows for LYING, to achieve One's Goals against the INFIDELS.

OCW didn't just happen. It was Organized. It was Organized by the "Greatest Community Organizer since JESUS". That's what he does. That's all he knows how to do. It was HIM, behind the chaos in Madison Wisconsin. It was HIS "Followers" there, and in the Middle East Countries, and in OWS.

The Communists, the Nazis, the Black Panthers, and the White Supremacists have all come together behind HIM. The UNIONS and CODE PINK, and MoveOn.org. They marched together for HIM. In Madison, in Cairo, and in Europe and New York. And they followed HIS Banner.

He wanted to TAX Christmas Trees. He supports Freedom and Tolerance for Muslims, around the world, while turning a Blind Eye to the EXTERMINATION of the Middle East's Christian Populations. He bristles at the building of HOMES, by the Israelis, in THEIR OWN CAPITOL, but says NOTHING, about the Rocket Attacks on Jewish Schools and Hospitals. The Terrorist group - MAMAS - believes that he has been "Sent by Allah" to "Deliver" them. He is to be their MOSES. They have given him the name: ABU HUSSAIN. "Son of the Father".

I know that this story was about something else, but, everything that he does is interconnected with everything else. He has all of his Czars working tirelessly, toward CHANGE. His wife, the WOOKIE, told us long ago that "Barack will change our HISTORY and our TRADITIONS". He, himself has promised to "Fundamentally Change" the greatest Country the World has ever known. In to what?

Why, in to the OPPOSITE, of course. In to a Country where Captain Hunter's Plane is melted down for SCRAP. And where Statues of Lenin and Engels and Marx are predominant.

It's not that our people have Forgotten History? It's that, since the LEFT took over the Nation's Education Establishment and her "NEWS" Outlets, the TRUTH of our History has been EXPUNGED from our Memories. All we can look forward too, now, is the part about being DOOMED to repeat it.

Merry Christmas.

Tim, You asked the question the other day why these dottering old fools in their late '70s, '80s and '90s refuse to leave Washington and spend time with their families before they die.
Well, as you know, given the supurb analysis you provide us with daily, it's all about POWER.
Five hundred and thirty something Americans, out of 300 M, spend their extire existence getting to Washington. They're not about to give that up for anybody or anything.
Besides, they do spend lots of time with their families; these clowns have delegated all their Constitutional responsibilities to super committees, the massive bureaucracy, and the courts.
Now, all these bastards do is glom onto the low hanging fruit, like conduct public investigations of major league baseball and now Penn. State, all for the show.
While they will conduct hearings on Fast & Furious, they won't take serious action, like appoint a special prosecutor to investigate Obozo and Holder and indict them for being accesories to murder.
Washington has become a playground for the political elites, nothing more.

Rhoetus | 12.7.11 @ 11:49PM

It's time we occupy the White House with a President who supports and defends the US Constitution and Bill of Rights.

Anthony| 11.21.11 @ 9:56AM

One side has to win, it's that simple. The Left will not abandon their Marxist dreams and their enablers in the media and the D party are hell bent on transforming America into a socialist utopia.
We, on the other hand, have best stop pussyfooting around with these bastards and take charge.
There is no compromise when it comes to those who seek America's destruction.
Now the clowns in Congress have to catch up to the rest of us, but they won't, because the love the comphy enviornment of Washington too much!!

Youfamissim | 11.21.11 @ 10:44AM

The more this movement expands, the more convinced I become it will not end peacefully. The OWS are presently using violence to scare people watching the news. WHO will risk voting if these mobs occupy the polling centers? The DOJ is on record refusing to prosecute the Black Panthers. Can you see the real reason behind this?

Seek| 11.21.11 @ 11:26AM

When an all-girls Catholic school can teach class-warfare dogma as fact, what does that say about the Church? Answer: Many things, none of them good.

Marko| 11.21.11 @ 11:47AM

This movement is not going away. Winter's winds may cool them down for a while, but they will wait it out, and come back in force.

Yes, the cultivation of the current crop Little Marxists is the fruition of all that hard work that Communist subversives did in the last century, through the taking over of education, etc. (I should add that such lab0r was not just for the sake of seeing a bunch of Communists spring up in the U.S. at some point and that's the end of it, but it was the groundwork for invading and defeating the US as a world power. That plan may still be in effect. See the works of Golitsyn and Jeff Nyquist, to start down that path of inquiry.)

There are other anti-Western enemies who would co-opt these movements as well. New Agers, who are a kind of "spiritual" fellow traveler with the materialistic Marxists/Communists, have their own notions of rebuilding society, which are just as revolutionary, and just as dangerous and lethal to anyone who doesn't go along with "the plan".

In short (haha.... too late?), all the Utopians, whatever their color - red, green, rainbow - are coming out of the closet and trying to see how they can further their own agendas through the Occupiers. Check out the following link, to see who all has voiced support for the Occupy Wall Street movement:

Nina| 11.21.11 @ 1:18PM

When do we see headlines "OWS = Communism"? I'm pretty certain that the majority of Americans, especially veterens, would be outraged at the cmparison seeing how our military has fought for freedom against communism. But because a large part of Americans are ignorant of what is really going on and who is behind such actions, they are busy with their lives, they believe everything that the MSM spews out. The comparisons are clear.

Nina| 11.21.11 @ 1:20PM

Sorry I didn't finish my thought.....it's clear to those how emigrated here from communist controlled countries what exactly is going on and we have ignorant protestors who refuse to listen to the horrors that they endured living under such rule. The ideologues who believe we can all live well if we do it together and everyone had a fair share. The problem with that is NO ONE ever gets a fair share...it's not shared, it's doled out by people who still will have more, to those they feel merit it and woe to those they don't sympathize with....when will these idiots really think of what they are doing?

Seek| 11.21.11 @ 1:31PM

These occupiers are not liberals. They are radicals. A few decades ago, the distinctions between the two camps were understood a lot more clearly. Now conservatives routinely lump them in together. Why? We're kissing off any number of disenchanted liberals who might become conservatives when we do this.

Oldefarte| 11.21.11 @ 2:04PM

With all due respect, liberals and radicals are one and the same. I know because I have been surrounded by same my substantial lifetime. Readicals are liberals that bite the bullet of frustation and take to the streets in protest, so philosophically they is not difference between the two. If you prefer, liberals are the INTELLECTUAL [although that description may be an oxymoron of sorts] segment of the group [whereas radicals are the STUPIDS of same], but they are both cut from the same cloth. So please don't attempt to camoflage the potential radicalness of liberals by falsely disguising their radical natures of subconscious!!!!!!!

Oldefarte| 11.21.11 @ 2:39PM

PS: The CIVIL procedure for liberals [and everyone else] to exercise their frustration is known as VOTING [not street protesting like ANIMALS]!!!!!!!!

Seek| 11.21.11 @ 5:01PM

Nobody's disputing as much. But I am saying, and with justification, that liberals are something more substantial than simply well-dressed radicals. There IS a world of substantive difference between, say, George McGovern (liberal) and Noam Chomsky (radical). It is to our debit as conservatives that we fail to recognize as much.

Patrick Carroll| 11.21.11 @ 1:50PM

Back in the day when I was at USAF OTS I marched up and down the parade ground at the Medina annex of Lackland AFB, marking time as I passed a static display F-105 named "Iron Butterfly."

Love that "Lead Sled."

Legarto Rey| 11.21.11 @ 2:01PM

"Take a bath, get a job!" Mika Brez is "disgusted" by such callous(honest) commentary. It'll be interesting to hear the MSM response to the real nasty flash mobs getting busy, Spring/Summer 2012 as Obama's farce of a presidency smolders into oblivian.

Oldefarte| 11.21.11 @ 2:09PM

Well some of us are a million times more 'disgusted' by such putrid liberals and their paternal fuerers that are allowed to pontificate their verbal garbage on a daily basis within the MSM and our government!!!!!!!!

Oldefarte| 11.21.11 @ 2:35PM

Let me begin by apologizing for my oversight in not thanking all of our military members [past and present] for their dedicated service to our country and to me and mine personally. Our service members are what makes this country great [and conversely these occupying dirtbags are what represents the horse manure that the resto of us daily are forced to step into]. These occupying liberal/progressive/radicals have been around my whole substantial lifetime sadly. They are worthless/useless [they don't accompolish anything in life and are simply pieces of human trash lying on the ground, taking up valuable space] morons that take up others' time/energy in having to deal with same and cause a tremendous expense to this nation's government. Their parents existed in the 1960's, and fathered/mothered the garbage that is evident today in NYC, LA, etc. hades, we even have the king-protester-in-chief occupying 1600 sadly. We can only rid ourselves of this element by doing away with governmental welfare, and converting same to workfare instead. If any able-bodied individual qualifies for governmental welfare, they should be required under law to perform some menial governmental task [cleaning up trash from city streets etc] in return for their governmental benefit recieved. It's called WORK, and that's simply how POVERY IS ELIMINATED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Erica Brigid| 11.21.11 @ 2:42PM

Where was the Tea Party all this time? Sniping from mommy's basement, when they should be out in the streets holding counter-rallies and engaging the Occupiers in debate. The Occupy movement assemblies were open to all who wished to speak. There were virtually no other Tea Party activities going on anywhere in the country, so why didn't a single "patriot" group come down to Wall Street for some polite conversation on their favorite subject?

Erica Brigid| 11.21.11 @ 2:56PM

The OWS movement looks so much like a work in progress, that I wonder if it's only some kind of class project of the Highlander Folk School. Having thought that, I began to wonder if the Tea Party was simply a project of Fox News to generate publicity for Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck. Notice how, once Palin dropped out of the 2012 presidential race, and Glenn Beck got fired, all the tea went out of the bag. The Tea Party were nowhere to be found in the 2011 election.

Drunken Sailor| 11.21.11 @ 2:57PM

Because when you wrestle a pig, you both get covered in shit and only the pig enjoys it.

The Tea party is actively trying to change things. Not camp out, whine, ask for handouts, and engage in immoral behaviour.

Erica Brigid| 11.21.11 @ 3:10PM

So how many Tea Party candidates got elected in 2011?

Drunken Sailor| 11.21.11 @ 3:51PM

How many OWS got elected? Are you saying the Tea party is not active? Then why are so many canidates for the 2012 race trying to get their support?

Margie| 11.21.11 @ 4:21PM

Not to mention that the TEA Party isn't a political party, though perhaps the Republican party ought to be renamed such.
Hmm. Good idea?

Butch| 11.21.11 @ 3:14PM

The TP did the right thing by staying away. OWS was a massive flop, a gaggle of clueless dupes, stupes, and fools who discredited themselves with their ignorance, filth, envy, sloth, and hostility. Losers. The TP would have validated them with a counter protest.

Erica Brigid| 11.21.11 @ 3:38PM

"Lazy crybaby whiners" who held their ground, day after day, unarmed, against riot police, tear gas, pepper spray, billy clubs, tasers, and guns. It doesn't add up.

Drunken Sailor| 11.21.11 @ 3:55PM

Let me guess Erica, you were part of the Occupy Boston movement?

Consertive View| 11.22.11 @ 12:11AM

WHAT PEPPER SPRAY?

Pepper spray? You think? Stop for a moment and look at that video again. What do you see? You see a group of people sitting down, and some man with a can of something spraying those people back and forth. What don't you see? I ask that again, what don't you see?

And the dog didn't bark.

Ever seen someone hit with pepper spray? That stuff hurts. That's why so many women cary it around in their purse. If they are attacked one puff of pepper spray and the attacker doesn't want them any more. The attacker reacts, fast.

And the dog didn't bark.

Look again at the video. Watch the people sitting there. Do you see a single one of them jumping up, flailing his arms, covering his face? No you don't. They just sit there. You can't do that if you are getting pepper sprayed.

And the dog didn't bark.

Sorry Erica those OWS protesters were not being pepper sprayed. That whole pepper spary bit is a hoax. Erica, Newt has it right, take a bath, get a job, cause in the end, I don't owe you a blessid thing. I had a job, I earned my retirement defending your right to sit there and get hit by the non existant pepper spray.

And Erica, this dog bites.

Proven accurate after reading this, for if it is true that the Communist Party of America is gaining popularity, then it stands to reason it is the reaction to the Nationalists Party Of America, KKK, and others experiencing a sudden flux of memberships right after the 2008 election.

Its the End Times and too many people know less about reading the signs than they know about who shot JR. I spent today watching the Toronto City Government and the Police stand idly by after the courts had ruled to evict the Occupy Toronto crowd from the park, and allow the Kids to fortify the place, bring in reeinforcements from the Unions, and be taken over by the Black Bloc of Quebec who had destroyed downtown during the G20, again while the cops and the government stood idly by crying *We are not Americans! We surrender -- now leave us alone!*. TheKids are out of control and their parents are afraid of them -- and into the breach has stepped Satan and his crew to remind us how strong the enemy really is.

Tune in tomorrow to see what mayhem was committed overnight while the police and the City again stood idly by, wringing their hands and crying *How could this happen again?*

Same way it happened the first time, and same way it will happen the next time. Read the bloody signs!

A Clockwork Orange

TWS| 11.22.11 @ 1:01AM

I can now say that I personally have been physically hreatened and would have probably been assaulted had I not just run.

I'd passed by the local OWS (a much smaller scale that the real Wall St. one) several times. I had raised the issue locally about the incessant drum beating at odd hours and whiffs of pot I got when passing by one Sunday afternoon several weeks ago.

Pot? Probably still smoked. The cold seems to have done much to silence the drums.

Tonight as I walked past (trying to keep a safe distance) I spotted several older women. I know one of them. They were accosted by Occupiers on the way to their car. I moved to be closer. I did not like what I was seeing. When I saw an Occupier place his arm on the shoulder of the smallest woman, I shouted loudly at the three Occupy men moving in on the women.

This did work to divert attention from the women. However, I soon had three Occupiers in my face. Backing up (I was trying to get a head start if I needed it and I was trying to get these thugs further away from the women) I was ready to bolt.

Then came a terribly loud stream of vulgarities directed at me accented by vile gestures and the largest one's arm reaching out to grab me. I could really smell them now. The air became filled with diseased alchoholics' breath.

This is only 9 p.m. at night.

Why do we allow perverts, slugs, campers, serial offenders to just hang out in something that we pretend is free speech? To reply to all of this, nationwide, I'd like to engage in Free Screech.

I ultimately needed to sprint away. Fight or flight . Well, with 3 on 1 I would have lost. I was the smallest one compared to my three adversaries.

I made a wide circle through several city blocks to observe this scene from another vantage point. Then I wound up escorting a clueless (how could she be so clueless?) granny to her car. She was well dressed, slow, talkative and had a big, big purse. She'd have been easy pickings.

After she got in her car a policeman chanced past. I gave him an earful. His replies when I pointed out my assailants? He knows them all by name. They are just serial bums frequently in town to freeload on the totally free shelters and now this downtown campsite. He says that he and his colleagues have processed them easily 80 times in the last two years for a whole variety of 0ffenses

Then what he said next gave me pause: The officer said that ultimately (with the 30th appearance or so) the judge gets tired of it all and instructs the police to try to avoid doing anything.

I've had it with Occupiers. They are freeloaders and bums. They were bums before. There is nothing of valuable discourse taking place. And I'm tired of the streets being unsafe.

No one should have to deal with assailants when just walking 4 or 6 city blocks to obtain the car and go home.

Those old ladies had it coming after a lifetime of expropriating from the working class!

LT Hunter died in the service of his country as did my Uncle Richard in WWII fighting against their generations dictators. Both of their sacrifices are honorable and should never be forgotten. These Commie/Marxist pukes are heirs to the scribblings of Karl Marx, a sad little unhappy man, who was dead wrong in the conclusions of everything he wrote. Other than grouse and moan in a land of abundance, what exactly have THEY contributed positively? By the way, LT Hunter would be 70 and Uncle Richard would be 91. May they both Rest in Peace.
