The GOP presidential primary, which I continue to
compare to a colorful, shape-shifting kaleidoscope, is now in
overdrive, revolving at a blistering speed, with the latest Gallup
poll showing Texas governor Rick Perry rocketing past all other
Republican contenders.
According to Gallup’s Jeffrey M. Jones, 29 percent of
Republicans and Republican-leaning independents nationwide say they
are most likely to support Perry, with Mitt Romney next at 17
percent. “Rick Perry has emerged as rank-and-file Republicans’
current favorite for their party’s 2012 presidential nomination,”
says Jones.
There is even more good news in this poll for Perry.
Congressman Ron Paul (R-TX) and congresswoman Michele Bachmann
(R-MN), respectively in third and fourth place in the poll, capture
23 percent of the vote. Throw in Herman Cain’s 4 percent, and you
have over a quarter of the GOP primary electorate who, being
unlikely to shift to the more moderate Romney, are ripe for the
picking by the Perry campaign if it builds momentum.
The Gallup poll was conducted August 17-21 with a random
sample of 1,040 Republicans and GOP-leaning independents. Gallup
says that the poll has a 95 percent confidence that the maximum
margin of sampling error is plus or minus 4 percent.
Perry and Romney were essentially tied in late July. Now
the race is turned upside down. As expected, conservative
Republicans support Perry, “but liberal and moderate Republicans
support the two about equally,” says Jones.
In my last article, I speculated that Sarah Palin’s entry
into the race might, along with the presence on the ballot of
Bachmann and Paul, dilute some of Perry’s support vis-à-vis Romney.
When Gallup factored in both Palin and former New York mayor Rudy
Giuliani, each received about 10 percent of the vote. Still, Perry
maintained “a significant lead over Romney, 25 percent to 14
percent, on this measure.” There’s nothing like a little hard
polling data to kill the fun of free floating political
speculation. The numbers, while only a snapshot in time, do not lie
— at least when Gallup does the polling.
Writing in the National Journal, respected
left-of-center political analyst Ronald Brownstein noted that Sarah
Palin’s appeal was generally limited to voters without college
degrees. He parses the Gallup data, making all the usual
disclaimers about how early it still is in the race, but concludes:
“Perry’s ability in this survey to outpoll both Bachmann among the
devout and Romney among the well-educated shows the Texas
governor’s opportunity to build a broader coalition than either of
his principal rivals.” Perry has the “ability to reach across class
lines,” unlike Palin, claims Brownstein.
“Perry’s official entry has shaken up the Republican race,
making him the new leader for the party’s nomination,” says
Gallup’s Jeffrey Jones. “Gallup also finds Perry generating
strong positive intensity among Republicans familiar with
him, suggesting he has a strong initial base with potential
to grow, given his below-average recognition.”
Perry will have to show up and play the game, but his
polling numbers are nothing if not astonishing given his short time
as a presidential candidate. Moreover, he seems to be bridging the
social and economic streams in the Republican base. He recently
signed on to the strong pro-life
pledge offered by the Susan B. Anthony List, a
leading right-to-life organization, to all presidential candidates.
Romney did not.
If Perry wins the primary, will he go the distance against
President Obama in the general election?
Al Sikes, former chairman of the Federal Communications
Commission, successful businessman and former political compatriot
of mine from our Missouri days, believes that Perry, a very strong
personality and commanding figure, may benefit from the same
phenomenon that Rudy Giuliani did when even liberal New Yorkers
voted for him to bring some kind of order to a city financially and
socially out of control. Sikes, who lived in New York for many
years as president of Hearst Interactive Media, says
simply, “New Yorkers were fed up.”
“I do think in perilous times people look for a strong
leader and particularly after a weak one,” says Sikes.
It is fair to say that many, if not most, Americans, are
fed up with Washington. Perry is betting that they will emulate
Davy
Crockett who, after his Jacksonian opponents
derailed his re-election bid for Congress, exclaimed, “You can go
to hell — I’m going to Texas.”

Perry is going back to Texas and soon. This country isn't about to vote in another warmongering dimwit from Texas. He as a big foot and he likes to place it firmly in his mouth. I don't think he can put 2 coherent sentences together on the Fed or the economic meltdown this country is experiencing.
The Polls show Ron Paul running the best against Obama. He does far better among Independents, then either Obama or any other candidate. He also does better with Democrats then, any other Republican. The vast majority Americans agree with Ron on ending these insane wars and bringing the troops home. They also agree with him by huge majorities about auditing the Fed, and ending all foreign aid.
Ron has the most by far committed supporters. He does great among young people. He raises a lot of cash to be competive with Willard and Rick. He is far better then either one on the pro-life issue. He is by far the best debator and runs circles around his opponents. Ron Paul has been right for decades. It is time to put him where he belongs. That is 1600 Pennsylvania avenue.
Drunken Sailor| 8.26.11 @ 12:09PM

And lets not miss this part.
" Republicans exhibit a little more variation, giving their strongest support to Perry (92% would vote for him) and Romney (91%), weaker support to Bachmann (86%), and the weakest support to Paul (82%). Independents tilt at least slightly toward voting for Romney, Perry, and Paul against Obama, while tilting slightly toward Obama when he is pitted against Bachmann."

"According to Gallup, either Perry or Paul would finish in a virtual tie with President Barack Obama today on an imaginary presidential ballot, and Paul draws more Democratic and independent support than Perry or Bachmann.
Paul, a Lake Jackson obstetrician, former Libertarian candidate and favorite of some Tea Party groups, has already joked to crowds that Perry's early Texas tough talk "makes me sound like a moderate."
Wharton Republican Debra Medina, a Paul campaigner and 2010 Perry opponent, said the governor's early speeches reminded her of the "blustery day" in a windblown Winnie the Pooh cartoon.
"What Rick Perry says and what he does are completely unrelated," she said by phone from Wharton.
"It's not his rhetoric that gets him in trouble, it's his record. He never does what he says. And when he talks about smaller government and stabilizing the economy -- that's what Ron Paul has talked about all along."
Paul's supporters organized the first Tea ("Taxed Enough Already") Party rallies here in 2009, before Perry campaigners and Republican organizers co-opted the name at Tax Day rallies. Their books even have echoing titles: Fed Up! (Perry) and End the Fed (Paul).
Jerry Polinard, a political science professor at the University of Texas-Pan American, said Paul is "very attractive" to a party shifting rightward."

Authentic American, aggie family and small town background, real Aggie, AF pilot, relentless campaigner and listens rather than talks, but when he talks there will be no confusion on where he stands. Understands real economics better than most Governors, and has a record to prove it. As President with a friendly Congress could actually dismantle parts of the Leviathan. ""More Thoughts on Rick Perry
As with most men with convictions and passion…and a long public record, Rick Perry is going to be hammered from every direction.
He is going to be hammered by arch conservatives for being too ‘reasonable’ and practicing the politics of the possible. (Ronald Reagan’s phrase)
The communists, (pardon the shorthand), are lining up a whole host of lies and half truths. Many of their arrows can already be seen and heard on youtube.
The Libertarians and fellow anarchists are going to hammer him for offering to help our little girls avoid ovarian cancer, or because he encourages free trade, or because he thought it would be a good idea to build a freeway for ‘thru’ traffic for our trade with our southern neighbors. Trade in both directions I might add.
Mexico is probably Texas’ largest trading partner. Combine that with a large (legal), Hispanic population, it would be absolutely insane for a Texas Governor to posture and brag about immigration reform. Have no doubts though; the Texas Rangers and Texas Guard troops are staying quite busy. Long term, until the US Congress outlaws “anchor babies”, any immigration debate is worthless.

Perry, secured a 300 million dollar business handout slush fund for him and just the two leaders of the legislature to dole out to whomever he felt like being friendly to. That’s corporate welfare, a recipe for corruption, and as bad as the TARP bailouts that caused the Tea Parties to explode all across America. In fact, he gave 20 million dollars to Countrywide Financial which later went bankrupt.
He supported a new state business tax. He set up toll road tax collection booths all over Texas highways. The Austin Tea Party and the Austin Toll Party booed Perry on the steps of the state Capitol for that.
Rick Perry, signed an executive order mandating young Texas schoolgirls to get the HPV vaccine, while his former chief of staff was a lobbyist for Merck. Perry's judgment was so bad the Texas legislature revolted against him and overturned his decision."

"Tea party activists are divided roughly into two camps, according to a POLITICO/TargetPoint poll: one that’s libertarian-minded and largely indifferent to hot-button values issues and another that’s culturally conservative and equally concerned about social and fiscal issues.
The survey, an exit poll conducted Thursday by Edison Research at the massive Tax Day protest on the National Mall, found that the attendees were largely hostile to President Barack Obama and the national Democratic Party — three-quarters believe the president “is pursuing a socialist agenda.”
Yet they aren’t enamored of the Republican Party as an alternative. Overall, three out of four tea party attendees said they were “scared about the direction” of the country and “want to send a message to both political parties.”
Palin, who topped the list with 15 percent, speaks for the 43 percent of those polled expressing the distinctly conservative view that government does too much, while also saying that it needs to promote traditional values.
Paul’s thinking is reflected by an almost identical 42 percent who said government does too much but should not try to promote any particular set of values — the hallmarks of libertarians. He came in second to Palin with 12 percent.
When asked to choose from a list of candidates for president in 2012, Palin and Paul also finished one-two — with Palin at 15 percent and Paul at 14 percent. "

" Rasmussen Has Ron Paul Running Closest With Obama
Erik Hayden Aug 24, 2011:
Who does the president fare worst against in a head-to-head matchup? On Wednesday, Rasmussen released its latest nationwide early campaign survey. And right now, Barack Obama does well against Mitt Romney (46 to 38 percent) and narrowly leads Perry (43 to 40 percent) and Michele Bachmann (43 to 39 percent).
Which means, if you combine these results with the Rasmussen poll released Tuesday, the GOP candidate doing the best against the president is....Ron Paul? Yesterday's head-to-head poll showed the libertarian trailing the president 39 to 38 percent, by presumably the same methodology."

Let's look at this: "Gutless Joisey Boy" --semantic content---insult. Argumentative content---none.
"And his Cowardly Israel Firster Girlfriends Poseur Punk Post Under My Name."---semantic content: crude insult. Argumentative content: none. Originality: zero (I, for example, call you a 302 neuroned self fertilizing roundwork. Look up C. Elegans and you will find that it is, indeed a 302 neuroned self fertilizing nematode. Go to PubMed and will find the genetic research files are literally crawling with work on C. Elegans---it is a sophisticated insult on a number of levels; for example, C. Elegans is one of the simplest brained multicellular creatures).

And another thing....it matters less to me who is in the office than it does that we EXPAND our majority in the house and TAKE BACK THE SENATE (hopefully, filibuster proof). Michael Tomlinson| 8.26.11 @ 9:55AM
We need 60 seats in the Senate without that Democrats will try to stop everything that will get America back on track (i.e., repealing and reversing the Obama agenda).
John Navratil| 8.26.11 @ 10:48AM
Michael Tomlinson,
Time was the filibuster meant stopping all other business. A change to Senate rules (not easy - normally takes 67 votes) to restore this instead of business as usual everywhere else would fix this. The alternative is the "nuclear option" where a simple majority can prevail.
irish19| 8.26.11 @ 12:53PM
I'll take gridlock over more spending.
Boar Hunter| 8.26.11 @ 1:11PM
We need more than full seats. We need people whose hearts are full with a fighting spirit. We need people who will stand up for conservative values. What good are 60 more John Boehners?
With more of these looser's in leadership, we have as much chance seeing a conservative agenda drive out the liberals as Ron Paul's love child Clint does in getting that nut elected president.
irish19| 8.28.11 @ 12:30AM
"What good are 60 more John Boehners?"
Well said.
The Big E| 8.26.11 @ 11:09AM
The only problem with your theory is that even if "we" get 60 seats in the Senate, we really won't have 60 seats in the Senate. The Dems will easily peel off a few (and with 60 seats, it only takes 1) moderate Republicans to stop anything we want to do (such as repeal Obamacare). As you know, the Senate is rife with Republicans who would side with the Dems in a heartbeat in such a situation. This will be the case regardless of who sits in the White House, BUT - if the person in the White House is a strong conservative who is LEADING instead of just waiting to see what the legislative branch does, then the equation changes somewhat.
So yes, it matters a great deal who is in the White House. If you want the Obama agenda repealed, you 're going to need a strong, conservative President. If you just want the Obama agenda tinkered with a little and watered down some so it takes a little longer for it to destroy the Country, then it doesn't matter.
John Navratil| 8.26.11 @ 4:01PM

I am convinced that Perry is for lower taxes and less spending. What I need to know is if he is for smaller government. Reagan went in wanting to abolish the Dept. of Education. He was, of course, thwarted by the Democrat House and Senate.
We may have a reasonable second-place position to the one held by the Democrats in 2008 when they held a majority everywhere and a filibuster-proof majority in the Senate. It is most unlikely that the Republicans can get 60 in the Senate this time.
Assuming (hoping, praying) Obama is asked to take himself out in the dustbin he has filled, the Republican party and the conservatives within it will be at their greatest strength in at least sixty years if not a century.
The Democrats used their opportunity to cram through Obamacare. Conservatives should use this opportunity to dismantle as much of this as possible.
Where does Perry stand on eliminating government agencies and departments? If the weed isn't pulled up with the roots, it regrows. His statements say he would like the Feds out of education. If so, will he seek to dismantle this department? He talks a good energy game and dismisses global warming. Will he exhort the Congress to get rid of the Dept. of Energy? When I talk of eliminating agencies or whole departments, I get the "It'll never happen" response. If not, then when? If never, we can look forward to the inevitable decline.
As I've said before, I was distressed by Perry's 'Gardasil' executive order as it was more the action of a king than a servant of the people. So what I need to know is...
Is Perry a Big Government Conservative or a Small Government Conservative?
Ken (Old Texican)| 8.26.11 @ 1:56PM
John,
I'm quoting Rick Perry here..."I will demand the repeal of "Obama-care"...immediately!"
John Navratil| 8.26.11 @ 2:36PM
Ken,
I heard him say that. It's the political blood of the Republican campaign. I'm for it and have no doubt that he will do it. To the extent that he is against the establishment of yet more agencies, I am pleased; that should be the minimum from anyone calling himself conservative.
I am hoping that he is for more than a return to the status quo ante with its rampant RINOs and is for a reduction in government overall. Hence my question. Will he promise what is needed for election or is he a small government Republican in the Reagan tradition? I hope to be convinced that he is the latter.
Sean| 8.26.11 @ 3:08PM
Perry is for bigger government. He will feed you some talk but in the end he is another Bush. In Texas we always have to fight against him and he backstabs conservatives every chance he can get working behind the scenes. Check out the whole TSA thing, Guardasil, TransTexas corridor, Bildeberg meetings, turning our roads into tollways owned by foreign corporations. The list goes on.

Sean,
I've lived in Texas for almost forty years now. I'm aware of what you are saying. It's interesting that Perry has been governor for ten years and my Dad who lives in Louisiana is only hearing about him since the advent of the Tea Party. I share your concerns.
That said, and appealing to the Buckley rule, it seems that Perry may well be the least dangerous, electable candidate. Bachmann is probably less dangerous and perhaps electable. Santorum is my current favorite, but I can't hold out much hope for him to defeat Obama. Cain is in the same boat.
Now is the time for letting Perry know what is important to us and to get his position out front and center so that, even if we have to vote with reservations, neither we nor anyone else is surprised by what we elect.
I'll still take any one of the bunch (except Paul or, perhaps, Huntsman) over Obama and perfection doesn't appear to be running. And, we cannot afford a third-party run.
John Navratil| 8.26.11 @ 3:50PM
...
Actually, I'll take anyone of the bunch over Obama.
Sean| 8.26.11 @ 4:58PM
I am going for Paul because I know he won't sell out. He will also veto unconstitutional spending. The biggest criticism of Paul is people think he won't defend our country. I find that not true since he voted to go into Afghanistan. He is not afraid to go to war if needed and authorized by Congress.
Also most of his neocon critics are the same people that are for open borders. How exactly is that securing our countries defense when you allow an invasion?

I am certain that all or most of you are aware of the following but I will say it anyway: Watch for the push for Romney &/or Huntsman. You know from where it is originating right ? Anyway I just saying this: Who is MORE LIKELY to make the correct moves to get our economy going: Perry,Bachman or Palin or Huntsman and Romney. Who is more likely to take on Obama in debates and on the campaign ? Perry,Bachman or Palin or Romney or Huntsman ? Who is more likely to connect with the average American voter: Perr,Bachman and Palin or Romney and Huntsman ?
somnolence| 8.26.11 @ 11:26AM
I'm afraid that many of us on Facebook, including myself, who are SO SURE Palin is going to run, are simply deluding ourselves, and have been all along. If she makes this so-called major announcement within the next week or few weeks, I wouldn't be surprised to hear her endorse Michele Bachmann all out for the history making candidate the GOP can have in 2012.
The Big E| 8.26.11 @ 2:51PM
I've never been convinced that Palin was going to run, and I think Rick Perry's successful entry into the field pretty much insures she won't. If she enters now, she risks splitting the conservatives in such a manner that it would open up a road for Romney to win, and I don't think she wants that.
I'm not saying Perry is a shoo-in, but right now he is the strongest conservative candidate (no disrespect to Bachmann, but he's got executive experience in a large state that she simply can't match).
I also don't see Palin endorsing someone simply because their candidacy would be "historic." Recent precedent on historic candidacies isn't very good - at least not when it comes to producing a good President - and Palin strikes me as being too practical to endorse someone simply because of their gender. I'm not saying she won't endorse Bachmann, but I am saying that if she does, it will be because she sincerely thinks Bachmann is the best candidate, not because Bachmann candidacy would be historic.
Occam's Tool| 8.28.11 @ 12:56AM
I'd be happy with either Perry or Bachmann.
If the ultra strong borders people push hard enough, Perry will bend. He won't be Governor of Texas anymore, and I suspect his Hispanic support in the General Elections will be smaller than Os.
Oldefarte| 8.26.11 @ 11:41AM
Perry is becoming more credible everyday. His governorship-administrative experience, lawsuit-abuse reform, pugnacious personality etc are advantages. His only disadvantage perhaps is his connection politically to Muslim organizations [while hopefully will be explained by his staff to some of our satisfactions]. Paul and Romney both appear timid/politically correct in their political attacks upon the president and Democrats' radicalisms, plus Paul and his supporters seem to be trojun-horseed inside the Republican Party for political advantage purposes. It's again early, and the games have only begun
Occam's Tool| 8.28.11 @ 12:57AM
Yes, Perry is also very Pro-Israel, although the best one on that is Bachmann, who has actually worked on a Kibbutz.
So, I'm a Bachmann supporter, but I'm OK with Perry.

DaveS| 8.26.11 @ 3:28PM
There is little to distinguish Perry policy from the policies of many of the other candidates. So, what sparks the public interest in him? It's easy: he acts like an adult. Unafraid. Unapologetic. Gee - sounds like Reagan.
Drunken Sailor| 8.26.11 @ 3:42PM

I'm not about to get enthusiastic or charitable toward anyone's campaign except Palin, Bachmann, or Cain if they were to be the nominee. Other than that, I'll let you know that I voted on Election Day 2012 for the GOP candidate, which will not be Ron Paul(and if it is, no, I won't vote, period). So you see that my enthusiasm will more than likely be mechanical, much as it was in 2008. The 3 I previously mentioned are also the only ones I would send at least $100 to.
Boar Hunter| 8.26.11 @ 8:10PM
I agree with your sentiment, I will not vote Romney or Paul (The nut), period. If Palin enters, I think a lot of good people will open their hearts and their wallets.
Obviously, none of us knows what her final decision will be, but it seems to me there is even a large portion of the mainstream press that seems to be reconsidering their view of her. Of course we wont hear that on the nightly news, but watch video of her when she's walking amongst them. Their body language tells me they can't help but have admiration for her. They know best the effort brought to bear against her. How can you not admire the courage of such a person?
As far as her electability, I think they are telegraphing exactly who they're most afraid of. How many millions of dollars have they devoted to investigating her, filing frivolous law suits and all the rest? If "Palin can't win" why bother? You don't see the libs expending any effort on Ron Paul, do you? They know he is an unelectable nut.
As far as those identified as moderates and independents, I find that they generally (not always) position themselves as such, so they can appear thoughtful when questioned. The trick is to garner enough momentum and support for Palin so they can brag to everyone how they were part of this historic election and thrown out that worthless miscreant Obama. As long as we have collectively chosen her as the representative of our conservative values, Palin could easily prevail. I consider Perry a conservative politician, but I would vote for him. I consider Palin a conservative leader and I will follow her.
aware| 8.27.11 @ 12:47PM
The left isn't "expending any effort on Ron Paul..." for the simple reason that it is the Statists on the "right"(again I say....HA) who's job is to remove any serious threat to TPTB from their ranks. And that certainly is what is happening even as we speak.
And before you come back with that great neo con intellectual argument you use so often, I don't happen to be a "Paulbot" because "elections" have now become farce that in no way threatens to derail this out of control train before the brick wall moment.
You slobbering over the "candidates" you mention is like 'rasslin' fans fighting over whether Ric Flair or Lex Lugar is the "baddest rassler" without understanding the whole event is staged and they go out together for drinks and strippers afterward, with your money in their pockets.
"Conservatives" such as this have run things before, both Houses and Presidency. I'd just like you to name 1 government department that was abolished or even cut when they did. Show me in the places they run any spending reductions or reductions in the private wealth they confiscate. Did government get smaller or bigger under their watch?
But we are supposed to believe them this time?
Oldefarte| 8.27.11 @ 4:51PM
Following are the establishment dates of US Governmental Departments/president/party. I would argue that the non-essential/excessive departments would be Interior, Agriculture, Commerce, Labor, HHS, HUD, Transportation, Energy, Education, Justice and EPA [mostly established by DEMOCRAT PRESIDENTS]:
State 1789 Washington No Party
Treasury 1789 " "
Justice 1789 " "
Defense* 1789 " "
Interior 1849 Polk Democrat
Agriculture 1889 Cleveland "
Commerce 1913 Taft Republican
Labor 1913 " "
HHS 1953 Truman Democrat
HUD 1965 Johnson "
Transportation 1966 " "
Energy 1967 " "
Education 1979 Carter "
Veterans Affairs 1987 Reagan Republican
EPA 1990 Bush "
Homeland Security 2002 Bush "
Occam's Tool| 8.28.11 @ 1:03AM
Polk was ONE HELLUVA President. Ag was torn out of Interior, incidentally. Myself, I'd cut back to the ones we had in 1849, and leave it there. Interior as the last. Yeah, I'm aware Defense was initially War.
aware| 8.28.11 @ 11:36AM
Must be typo cause you impress me as informed.
Energy August 8,1977....Carter
EPA was a Nixon monster from 1970, who also gave us the racial spoils system known as "affirmative action", which led to the current sock puppet in chief.
I'm willing to bet none would be abolished under any of the establishment Republican contenders. The interesting thing about all you have mentioned is this: the things these government mechanisms were created to address all, without exception, got infinitely worse, more expensive, and intractable afterwards. One could even say permanent.
Oldefarte| 8.29.11 @ 11:19AM
I stand corrected, but my point still holds [they were mostly created by Democrats]. True no Republican eliminated same, but like with everything else in government, to eliminate anything once established is extremely difficult and practically requires an ACT OF THE ALMIGHTY [why this WELFARECARE that Democrat Obama etc has established will be difficult to dismantle, since its already in force and never should have been allowed to become law, but oh no, we had to elect Barry didn't we?]. The point I'm making is that taxpayer-voters should not allow Democrats to become elected, since their basic agenda is to establish governmental WELFARE. If we allow them to become elected, then the growth of government is a natural consequence and is almost impossible to stop afterwards. The solution is to instead vote for Republicans who are unsaintly but still are semi-rational non-welfare providing politicians!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"Rasmussen Has Ron Paul Running Closest With Obama

As a native Texan...probably older than most of you on here...been watching this mess unfold since the Vietnam era...also active in local and state politics...Rick Perry attended the Bilderberger conference in 2007, should be a red flag to all Americans...reported in Dallas Morning News, sold our roads to foreign investors, facilitated the biggest buyout ever of TxU Texas utilities and if ya don't know what a smart meter is better find out...have one on my home, one will be comingto your home in the future, ERCOT is petitioning congress to be able to control temps in our HOMES, it's blocked right now but I guarantee some politician will sellout to the highest bidding lobbyist, Perry hosted the banking corporations in Austin several weeks ago, if he couldn't be bought they wouldn't give him the time of day...mandated the Gardasil vaccine for young girls in Texas after receiving a $6000 donation from Merck and stipulating one of his aides oversee it, see his lavish rental on youtube soaking us Texans to the tune or around $10,000 a month, doesn't look CONSERVATIVE to me...the only reason he mentioned the Federal Reserve is because Ron Paul has been cautioning people about it for years, he was parroting Ron Paul...Paul has the guts to address the generalcounsel of the Fed, asking them why 88% of the stimulus money went to foreign banks instead of the citizens it was SUPPOSED to help, they answered they LOANED it because the foreign banks wanted to come over here and do business and if ya believe that I got some oceanfront property in Arizona....AGAIN, PUBLIC INFO, folks, on C-Span...don't even ask the teachers in Texas about Perry, they hate his guts...better yet, DO ask them.
Go to the congressional record or opencongress and look up H.R. 645, then look up H.R. 2163. H.R. 645 chilled me to the bone...know where I heard about these bills? Speeches on youtube by Ron Paul. MSM certainly didn't address them...point I'm making is MSM has been electing our leaders for a long time now...they are in the pockets of their sponsors and do what they are told which is to promote the candidate who will cater to the agendas of the globalists...has anyone EVER wondered WHY MSM ignore Ron Paul and make fun of him "saying" he isn't electable. It's because he has been consistent through the years, people SAY they want smaller government, SAY they want lower taxes, SAY they want the senseless wars to end, yet they keep listening to the mainstream media and letting them elect our leaders...they keep doing the same ol same ol and expecting different results...when I do my research and find out Ron Paul has NEVER voted to raise taxes, NEVER voted to go to war, returns a portion of his congressional budget to the Treasury every year, DECLINED the lucrative pension congress voted for themselves, lobbyists don't evenbother going to his office, they already know the answer, see that the Taxpayer's Union has nominated him to be one of the most fiscally conservative in congress when it comes to spending, well....I amgoing to vote for him in the primary, if he doesn't get on the ticket, no harm done, all the others are the same as Obama. What I have reiterated is public info, check it out for yourself....That bill H.R. 645 was signed into law Nov. 1990 by George Bush, no I didn't vote for him, already knew what he was about...
I have voted for Democrats and Republicans but not BEFORE I checked their records for myself.
It is the media's JOB to keep citizens arguing over Democrat and Republican issues, with the end result being no resolution, thus ensuring the status quo in Washington.
BackToBasics| 8.28.11 @ 9:57PM
I don't agree that other than ROn Paul, all others are the same as Obam. But I do agree with your warnings about Perry. I'm voiced my support here for either Bachman or Cain in the primaries and have warned that Perry is only a little to the right of GW Bush. I think he will disappoint those who believe he is a true conservative. Yet, out of necessity, if neither Bachman nor Cain gets nominated and Perry does, I will vote for him in 2012 but it will not be an enthusiastic vote. But at this point, a tactical retreat, voting-wise, meaning third party, is not something we can afford in 2012.

Here is a real "vote getter" for Perry.
He can run on the claim that none of his relatives are illegal immigrants on welfare roles - - as Auntie Zeituni Onyango, still living in the Boston public housing still on welfare.
Recently, the lost Uncle "Omar" has been found, drunk driving in Framinghm, Mass. Omar, aka Obama Onyango slipped through our marvelous Immigration net years go, never to be found until he hit a cop car while driving drunk.
Lucky for him, though, he is in Massachusetts, governed by another black Democrat, Deval Patrick. He'll skate free, just you watch.
While Mr. Onyango has enough money to get drunk, apparently he has a problem with scraping his rent together. His landlord attempted to evict him for non-payment of rent.
If he doesn't want them in the house, couldn't our compassionate president erect a tent city in some obscure spot on the White House grounds, so the entire tribe of Obamas can come out of hiding?
At least Jimmeh Cahtah's white trash brother was born here. As was Roger Clinton, Bill's little bro.
