Obama’s working vacation isn’t working.
Sensitive to the criticism of President Obama’s posh vacation at Martha’s Vineyard, the White House has made sure to highlight any work performed by him during it. The White House photo of the day on Wednesday shows him on the phone with French president Nicolas Sarkozy. Previous photos of the day show him gravely conferring with national security adviser John Brennan. He went through the motions of checking in on things after the earthquake disrupted his golf game, and the White House has let it be known that he has been brainstorming with Warren Buffett and others about how to jumpstart the economy.
Events in Tripoli gave him an occasion to step before the presidential podium and take some credit for the removal of Gaddafi from power. But as he was paying tribute to the vindication of human rights in Libya, his vice president was busy rationalizing their violation in China.
Joe Biden can always be counted on to blurt out the true views of the left and didn’t disappoint when asked about China’s one-child policy. “Your policy has been one which I fully understand — I am not second-guessing — of one child per family,” said Biden during a university visit in Chengdu. Biden went on to criticize the policy, but only on utilitarian grounds, saying that “you’re in a position where one wage earner will be taking care of four retired people,” which is “not sustainable.”
Biden’s office has now revised and extended his remark. “The Obama administration strongly opposes all aspects of China’s coercive birth limitation policies, including forced abortion and sterilization,” said Biden spokeswoman Kendra Barkoff. “The vice president believes such practices are repugnant.”
From “I fully understand” the practice to considering it “repugnant” would seem to require more of an explanation. What makes it repugnant? That it involves poor planning for the care of seniors? The truth is that the left does “fully understand” the policy, especially since it played such a large role in spreading overpopulation fears to China in the 1970s that gave rise to the policy. Even today members of the Planned Parenthood crowd support China’s one-child policy.
Earlier this month, Norman Fleishman, the former director of Planned Parenthood World Population in Los Angeles, rose to defend it. In a letter to the editor of the Napa Valley Register in support of Obamacare’s free contraceptives mandate, Fleishman wrote, “Unless we act (this legislation, along with China’s ‘one-child’ policy, is a start), the world is doomed to strangle among coils of pitiless exponential growth.”
One of Biden’s predecessors, Al Gore, fully understands the policy too. He goes around saying that population control is the most fundamental solution to global warming. Under this mindset, coercing family limitation is a small and necessary price to pay for saving the planet. To environmentalists who read books like The World Without Us, China’s one-child policy may even be seen as too generous.
That Biden felt the need to offer some cursory utilitarian criticism of the policy is perhaps the most curious element in his remark, since the left shows no such concern about America’s own declining birth rates. Indeed, as Fleishman’s letter above inadvertently implies, Obamacare’s mandate of free contraceptives and China’s one-child policy flow from the same myopic mentality. Biden’s warning to the Chinese applies to birth-dearth America too. While Obama’s America doesn’t have a coerced one-child policy, it is moving toward a voluntary one. Immigration may offset this trend, but that can only last so long. Obama’s free contraceptives mandate and other entitlements won’t remain free once there are no children around to grow up and pay for them.
The media noted that Obama only purchased fiction on his stop at a Martha’s Vineyard bookstore, though he did come close to nonfiction with his purchase of Brave New World for his daughter Malia. Yet at this point, that book almost looks like dated nonfiction, as Obama’s America hurtles towards newer dystopias.

When I read these articles I find a lot humor.
For instance, Joe Biden's concern about one child China. That's better then abort them all with Democrats in America. It's tragic but you have to see the humor in it.
Then, the part about Obama talking to Brennan and brainstorming with Buffett about the economy. Those are the last two people he should be talking to about the economy. Buffett controls a great deal of the economy and when he isn't stealing from the taxpayers to enrich himself he is calling for more taxes so he can steal more from the taxpayers in the future.
Brennan is a complete idiot on counter terrorism and one wonders why his justification of terrorism didn't get him laughed out of Washington. He claims terrorists are victims of social and economic forces. That's a really interesting way to justify criminality. And oh so leftist.
In other words, the terrorists are victims of society. Where have we heard that before?

Accept the fact that Obama's actions define him as a Marxist and a Muslim who is dedicated to destroying the U.S. Obama has no respect for the rule of law and the rights of the states in the United States. These state laws and resolutions should state that the laws and executive orders (itemize them) issued by the Obama administration that manifestly do not obey the consent of the governed and the constitutional rights of states are hereby declared null and void within the boundaries of these states. The governors should preemptively issue orders to their National Guards that block their control by an out of control federal government.
The states MUST assert their constitutional rights to block an out of control federal government. Citizens must rally in support of their governors and legislatures by emails, letters, phone calls, and lawful assembly with prayers led by clergy of our Judeo-Christian heritage.
Do you think Americans who love America will approve and support the courage of those states that tell the Obama dictatorship that his overthrow of the rule of law has ended?

“Rogue Unemployment Comet Hits Earth” – a headline we never saw in the New York Times, but one the mainstream media wishes it had the stones to publish. Along with Obama’s “working” vacation and Joe Biden’s “I set those Chinese straight” fictional encounter, we are now hearing a new media spin on America’s high unemployment. Unemployment in America has become “chronic” according to recent media reports. The creative myth our media is trying out on the American mind is that unemployment is a fact of nature now, it’s not due to incompetent government or Democratic failures. In other words: Not Obama’s Fault, It’s Simply Chronic.
Rehabilitating Obama in the eyes of the American voters isn’t easy, no one imagines it would be during our present End of Days. But “chronic”? You’d assume graduates of Columbia’s School of Journalism could come up with better “bull” than proclaiming mysterious toxins, recently introduced into the economic environment, are the cause of our persistently high unemployment rather than a systematic attempt to loot the Federal treasury for personal profit by members of a well-known political party.
“The first thing we do, let’s kill all the lawyers” Henry VI, Act IV, Scene II – if William Shakespeare was collecting unemployment benefits in Toledo today, he might amend it to: “The first thing we do, let’s kill all the journalists, the lawyers can wait”.

Dr. Buck, the symptoms of the Liberal Disease you identify are spot on. But I also recall a 70’s era celebrity, Robert Ringer (“Looking Out for Number 1”), an author of business self-help books who defined three separate patterns of personal behavior when your opponent was attempting to grab all the marbles during any business deal negotiation. The first type was the upfront, in your face approach; you were left with no doubts this character wanted to screw you, grab all the money for himself and to hell with you. But the third type of behavior Ringer defined came closest to home when characterizing Liberals. With many apologies and in a submissive manner, this type of businessman ended up taking all your marbles at the conclusion of the deal – you were expected to understand his financial needs, his apologetic but inflexible reasons why he couldn’t compromise and to sympathize with his request that you must sacrifice your personal interests for his benefit.
And this third type of behavior is the most insidious and hard to defeat – even though you may characterize his negotiating tactics as pathetically wimpy, this third type ends up with most of your money at the conclusion of the deal. Liberals have successfully employed this third form of behavior for decades – their plaintive cry is “we only wanted to assist the less unfortunate”, or “it’s not our fault things went wrong , we tried to help” and so forth – but at the end of the day, they somehow manage to personally benefit while you lose – always. Liberals may be mentally deluded but the funny thing is they win in the end and grab all our marbles, leaving us holding the bag. Americans need to learn it’s more than a case of misguided personal ideology – it’s also a well-disguised form of self-interest – and fully recognize it’s their desire to profit at our expense rather than an unselfish altruism which defines their true motives.

Silver lining, which I believe I've mentioned before: In one of the few instances of the Left's practicing what it preaches, population control appears to be a de facto personal agendum for libs, socialists, and assorted crypto-commies.
Every one of the several score lefties I am acquainted with in the rarefied atmosphere of academia is either (1) permanently single, (2) entangled in a barren "relationship" of one sort or another: double-income-no-kids marriages, homosexual trysts, swinging-single serial binges, or (3) more or less normally attached, but with an absolute maximum of two kids (thus fulfilling the double duty of saving the environment and advancing the career).
In short, the advocates of population control are, so to speak, breeding themselves out of existence. By the year 2070, more or less, there will no longer be a Left--but there will be many, many grandkids of sensible folks like myself.
And now back to "Great Expectations"--the superior 1946 David Lean version of the Dickens masterpiece, with the breathtaking performances of Martita Hunt as Miss Havisham, Alec Guinness as Herbert Pocket, and Finley Currie as Magwitch. John Mills is an excellent grown-up Pip, but is damn near eclipsed by the support cast. The title seems appropriate to the inevitable future of the Left; otherwise, I have no idea what the hell the connection is to the current topic. But it's a great flick.

Well, my exact prediction could be off by a few years or even a few decades, but I'll lay 10-to-1 odds on the basic demographics.
It takes 2.3 kids per couple just to maintain a steady-state in a population. And you can count on the few kids of the relatively few fertile lefty couples to be even more "radical" (i.e., narcissistic) than their parents. So I'm guessing that 2070 may stretch it too far into the future.
Hay-ell, my own grown kids, let alone their kids, may live to see the lefty impulse poop out under the ministrations of what Malcolm Muggeridge called "the liberal death wish."

My brother bought some little round black stickers that read "Epic FAIL", which he places on the Jokebama campaign stickers he still occasionally sees in parking lots.

Any body else stocking up on weapons and ammo these days?Any one else noticed that minorities seem to be in a permanent snit? Caustic, rude and generally disrespectful to the white tax payers they run across on a daily basis? I notice it every time I'm out in public these days. There seems to be an evolving disdain among them and not just the young, especially in the cities.
