Putting America Back to Work — the Republican Way

Hey Rick Perry, Mitt Romney, Michele Bachmann, here’s your chance to lead well before Labor Day.

Hey Rick Perry, Mitt Romney, Michele Bachmann, here’s your chance! President Obama, in his usual graduate seminar fashion, has promised to come back after Labor Day with his plan to “create jobs.” We all know where this is going — spend more government money, strengthen union regulations, raise the minimum wage, dig the deficit hole a little deeper.

So here’s your opportunity. Put forth a Republican job program before Labor Day just to show who’s really on the job. Make it look like you’re the President while the commander in chief is scouting the dunes on Martha’s Vineyard. Everything you need is already out there on the Republican agenda. Just tie them up in a big package to show people what they can vote for in 2012.

Here’s a working agenda:

1. Build the Keystone Oil Sands Pipeline from Alberta to Texas to bring down Canadian oil for American refineries. The project is now being delayed by the State Department. The pipeline will not only be a huge construction project but it will lower gas prices.

2. Begin offshore oil drilling on the East and West Coasts. The two U.S. Senators from Virginia — both Democrats! — are already pushing for drilling on their shores. Alaska is ready to go as well. The people who are opposed to drilling are a distinct minority.

3. Revive the timber industry in the Northwest by admitting that the spotted owl was never a unique species and was not declining because of logging. The federal decision closed 60 percent of the sawmills in the Northwest and has created 20 percent unemployment in some areas. The latest report is that the spotted owl is being replaced by the barred owl, which is probably not a different species anyway. The two are mating in the wild. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service just recommended shooting barred owls in order to justify the federal policy. It’s time for this madness to stop.

4. Limit environmental review to two years and put a limit on legal challenges. It now takes a minimum of seven years to build a new plant in the pulp and paper industry — if there is no opposition. Environmental impact statements are generational undertakings and can last forever. It’s become much more convenient to build in Mexico or China.

5. Limit design reviews at the Nuclear Regulatory Commission to two years. Start replacing our aging fleet with new, safer reactors such as the Westinghouse AP1000, which has been under NRC review since 2004. Accelerate approval of the new small, modular reactors that can be buried underground for complete safety and cost $200 million instead of $8 billion.

6. Freeze minimum wage laws and create exceptions to encourage hiring of teenagers. Unemployment among teenagers is now approaching 50 percent and “flash mobs” are robbing convenience stores and invading downtowns. We’re only a few steps away from British-style riots. And stop denigrating those jobs at McDonald’s and Wal-Mart. Working at McDonald’s is not “flipping hamburgers.” It’s skilled labor that requires discipline and strong interpersonal relationships. McDonald’s and Wal-Mart have trained more people for the work force than all the federal “job-training” programs put together.

7. Encourage states to adopt right-to-work laws and honor them where they exist. In particular, call off the Department of Labor’s ridiculous destructive campaign to try to stop Boeing, America’s largest exporter, from building in South Carolina. Such policies not only encourage employers to move offshore.

8. Sign the free trade agreements with Korea, Colombia, and Panama that have been languishing in Congress. The agreement with Korea alone would add $10 billion to the American economy and create 70,000 U.S. jobs. Free trade agreements with Canada and Mexico have created tremendous opportunities for U.S. industries.

9. Adopt the “English rule,” which says that plaintiffs can be made to pay their defendants’ legal costs if they lose a lawsuit. The rule was recently instituted in Texas but exists nowhere else. Being exposed to liability suits is one of the biggest reasons for not manufacturing in America. Plaintiff attorneys have extorted millions of dollars from U.S. firms by suing over matters as trivial as rounding errors on phone bills or Fed Ex charges on delivering legal documents. Corporations pay off only because they know their legal costs will far exceed the settlement. The English Rule levels the playing field and makes such lawsuits potentially costly to plaintiffs as well.

10. Reform health insurance by allowing insurance companies to sell policies across state lines and allow people to buy health insurance with tax-free dollars. These will be the first steps in unraveling employment-based health insurance system that makes it so expensive to hire new employees.

11. Eliminate all tax breaks and exemptions on corporate jets, oil companies, and anything else the Obama Administration can name. In turn, however, the corporate tax rate should be lowered to the world rate. Among the first “tax expenditures” to go will be the $6 billion annual subsidy to the ethanol industry.

12. Defend the dollar by making a sound currency the Federal Reserve’s only responsibility. Stop trying to create jobs by printing money. A sound dollar will be our strongest suit in rebuilding America.

Phony list that still labors under the illusion that government "creates jobs". It's really even simpler than this. Cut government by 70% and cut taxes by 69%. Then next year cut another 50% of what's left. Call it the Harding Solution.

Harry the Horrible| 8.19.11 @ 9:23AM

Not really. From my point of view, the author of the list seems to think that government STALLS job creation, which it certainly can do.

SpiralArchitect| 8.19.11 @ 11:38AM

Agreed.

Being for American oil production myself I realize that simply producing more oil will not change the world oil production.

Oil levels (volume) on the market is contolled by OPEC. If a nation increase production then OPEC will reduce production to keep prices static.

Oil dependancy is important. We need to have the ability to maintain out stragic reserves, that is what is truly important.

Forget not why oil prices dropped recently. The POTUS taped the Oil Reserves. This is short term thus likely why no reduction in OPEC production. The adverse effect will play out through higher costs at the pump when the reserves are replentished.

edit: Obummer will present a dirter version of the New Deal. Perhaps the New Deal v 2.0 or aptly names the Raw Deal?

This was a great article! I completely agree with every one of these bullet points. Why we are not doing these things is beyond me -- they just make good sense -- specially considering the direction our country is headed, which is down.

Your world is too simple. Saudi Arabia, Iran , Iraq and the Gulf Shiekdoms have their own money problems and tend to cheat in order to gain more income. They will continue to do so.

Even in your world, it would be better to have both wealth and jobs reside in the US instead of transfers to other nations to purchase their oil. Let the Chinese and Indians transfer their wealth.

How can I take anything this author says seriously, when he ignores Ron Paul, the intellectual and moral giant who is setting the agenda for the whole Republican party? Ron Paul has been fighting the fight for small goverment, a sane foreign policy, sound money, and justice for the unborn for decades. The Tea Party program is his. It has been his for decades. The three stooges Bachman, Perry, and Romney loved by this author, are intellectual and moral midgets compared to Dr. Paul. He has by far the largest and most strongly committed group of followers. He polls very well against Obama face to face. He raises a huge amout of money. He outperforms the whole gang of people running against him in debates. He polls best by far among Independents and Democrats, without which no Republican be elected. He is the reason that Bachman and Perry are yelling about the Fed. Like I say he setting the agenda for debate in the Republican party and the whole election. No pro war Bush clone can be elected. The vast majority of people in this country want out of foreign aid and foreign wars. The person who will be elected will be the man most likely to lead us to peace and prosperity, Dr. Ron Paul.

SpiralArchitect| 8.19.11 @ 11:45AM

Undoubtably, Ron Paul is familiar with the usage of paragraphs.

RP has many good ideas, aside from his utterly nutty foreign 'policy'. He will remain unelectable as POTUS.

Jack in Wi.| 8.19.11 @ 12:24PM

Snide comments won't stop the Revolution. We are taking over the party or we will replace it. No Republican can win without us a on a prowar pro big banker electoral program. We are mad as hell and not goingto take it anymore.

You dunder heads have a plan to try and take over the party~ something I've been preaching here for a couple of years~ now you are open about it.

But you muslim sympathizers are ridiculous, and just a bunch of nasty big mouths. You are so obviously insane that you actually believe that Americans are that stupid, and that they would actually prefer a terrorist sympathizer in the White House.

Oh no, wait!! We already have that. And you won't be voting for the Republican nominee just like you didn't last time around~ because you wanted Obama to win. And you'll help elect him this time around, too.

Ron Paul is a legend in his own mind. I think him and Louis Farakhan ought to team up. What a ticket that would be, huh?

Dr.Ron Paul's Foreign Policy Advisor Michael Scheuer, Former CIA Chief of The bin laden Unit.

"On Iran, The President should:
4.) Speak to the American people and tell them to expect to be brutally propagandized by U.S. citizen Israel-Firsters through AIPAC, their ubiquitous media shills, and the men and women they own in the U.S. Congress and federal bureaucracy. Urge Americans to ignore this effort by U.S. Israel-Firsters to get them to send their soldier-children to fight in a religious war in which the U.S. has no genuine national interest at stake, and in which U.S. participation would further bankrupt the country, require the reintroduction of conscription, and put America at war with all of the Muslim world -- Shia and Sunni -- for the foreseeable future."

For the love of God, please stop the elitist, DR. RON PAUL CRAP! We all know he's a doctor, get over it! That does not put him on a pedestal for a lot of us. It's annoying, elitist, and just turns us off! Good luck on that "taking over the party" crap. Hell, he truly is a RINO, he just uses the Republican party to get elected to Congress. He's a libertarian, and while I agree with his domestic agenda, he absolutely WILL NOT defend this country's interests abroad. And don't start this "founding father's warned us about foreign entanglement" crap. I doubt if George Washington ever envisioned MUSLIM TERRORISTS flying planes into skyscrapers. Ron Paul, and all of his Paulistas are willfully blind, foolish, or just plain stupid to believe that it is okay for Iran, led by a man who has vowed to "wipe Israel off the map"' to develop nuclear weapons! Are you stupid enough to believe that they won't use them? Good Lord, pull your heads from your collective asses, wipe the crap from your eyes, and see what is staring you in your face!

Clint| 8.19.11 @ 8:53PM

Dr.Ron Paul's Foreign Policy Advisor Michael Scheuer,Chief of The bin Laden Unit,

On Iran, The President should:
2.) Publicly state that there will be no U.S. surprise attack on Iran, and no U.S. attack at all on Iran unless the president asks for a formal declaration of war and the Congress votes its approval in a constitutional manner.

3.) Call in Israel's ambassador to the United States and tell him that we understand that Israel believes Iran is a threat to its survival, and that we agree that Israel has every right to defend itself. If Israel believes it must go to war with Iran, then so be it. But also tell the ambassador that if Israel attacks Iran, the U.S. administration will declare U.S. neutrality in the war and immediately cut off military and financial support to all combatants in the war."

Now there's a brilliant idea from the former chief of the I-couldn't-find-Bin-Laden-cause-I-really-wasn't-looking Unit. Don't take sides between (1) our ally, democratic and pluralistic Israel, and (2) our sworn enemy, Iran, run by a theocratic bunch of thugs who target our soldiers daily in Iraq and Afghanistan, who blew up our embassy in Beirut killing hundreds of US Marines, held our citizens hostage for over a year.

That should make for a winning platform for DR Ron Paul, gynecologist.

Jack in Wi.| 8.21.11 @ 2:23PM

Ron Paul is not the elitist. He is the elitist countryclub and neocons worse nightmare. He is the one they are so terrified of that they are trying everyway possible to shut him down. It is too late for that Dr.Paul has by far the most fervent and largest group of followers and they support him with plenty of money. Without us no Republican can hope to win an election.

chuck| 8.21.11 @ 8:23PM

Paul is the favorite candidate of Anarchists, what does that tell you>

Boar Hunter| 8.19.11 @ 12:34PM

Pick a new hero Jack-O, Ron Paul is a nut. You can scream and name call all you want, but Ron Paul has been promoting himself as a candidate for quite a while now and no one wants him. He is unelectable because he's a nut. If your polling data is even correct, so what? Some people in "polling data" still support Obama, but a road killed possum would defeat him in an election right now.

Jack in Wi.| 8.19.11 @ 12:48PM

The most educated and intelligent person to run for President in my lifetime is called a nut by someone like you who can't make an intelligent argument. It won't work anymore the country is behind Dr. Paul on foreign policy, economic policy, and monetary policy. We are taking over this party or we will replace it. We have the man. We have money. But most of all we have the issues.

DAZ| 8.19.11 @ 2:04PM

Jack in Wi: Dr./Rep. Paul's ideas on adhering to the Constitution and limited gov't are great, but he and his followers carry it to an illogical end. Get rid of the Dept. of Education? Amen. Get rid of the FAA (which monitors civilian and commercial air traffic) or the FCC (which, among other things, allows 300 million Americans to talk/text/surf-the-internet on their mobile phones all at the same time by managing scarce spectrum)? I'll pass. Without critical gov't functions we will have planes crashing right and left and communications and commerce will grind to a halt. I respect your beliefs, and also desire a more streamlined federal gov't, but I cannot jump on the crazy train....sorry...

Jack in Wi.| 8.19.11 @ 2:27PM

Ron Paul isn't getting rid of everything. He is just saying that every program must be open to discusssion. The President is just a limited Constitutional officer, not a dictator. He wants the least government possible and that government should strive to the smallest possible as in we leave it to the Sates and local communities. He is a constitutional scholar and will stick to the powers in the constitution. We have had way too much executive overreach in the last 100 years.

Boar Hunter| 8.19.11 @ 5:16PM

Congressman Ron Paul may be a long shot to win the Republican presidential nomination, but he runs competitively with President Obama right now.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey of Likely Voters shows Paul picking up 37% of the vote, while the president earns 41%.

Only Romney, of all other candidates is closer to Obama.

Harris Poll: If Ron Paul Won GOP Nomination, He Would Split Vote With Obama

Rep. Ron Paul (R-Tex.), an official candidate for the Republican presidential nomination, has performed well in several polls throughout his campaign. In may, Paul took second place in a CNN/WMUR poll of likely Republican voters. In June, Paul won a Republican Leadership Conference straw poll. At the beginning of July, Paul came in first in a Texas GOP poll, conducted by the Azimuth Research Group.

Perhaps the best indication of Paul’s candidacy so far is a Harris poll released today by Harris Interactive. According to the Harris poll, Obama and Paul would split the vote right down the middle if they were to run against each other in 2012."

Even if he were not nuts on foreign policy, he is just too old. He would be 77 when sworn into office. Not going to ever happen. I love my dad, he has a genius level IQ, he is also from Texas and he is the same age as Paul but he would be the first to say that he is too old to be president although he would certainly be better than either Obama or Ron Paul!

"High Speed Univ" programs allow busy adults to earn their degrees online while they meet job and family responsibilities. Students earn their degrees through a rigorous competency-based model that lets them advance through courses when they demonstrate that they have mastered the subject matter.

Bill Hussein O'Stalin| 8.19.11 @ 6:34AM

Those green jobs you mention are probably what the President believe will work but there is overwhelming evidence that they cost too much with too few results.

Here's a perfect example from Seattle, Washington.

The program was started with much official hoopla and a 20 million dollar federal grant.

In the end, complete failure and a disappointed citizen named Long Duong, who received a certificate, but no job.

It's a tale of two cities Washington, D.C., who launches programs built on elitism and not sound principles, and Seattle, Washington, who wanted the money but couldn't make elitism work.
http://www.seattlepi.com/local.....z1VTAtF2C8

Last year, Seattle Mayor Mike McGinn announced the city had won a coveted $20 million federal grant to invest in weatherization. The unglamorous work of insulating crawl spaces and attics had emerged as a silver bullet in a bleak economy – able to create jobs and shrink carbon footprint – and the announcement came with great fanfare.
McGinn had joined Vice President Joe Biden in the White House to make it. It came on the eve of Earth Day. It had heady goals: creating 2,000 living-wage jobs in Seattle and retrofitting 2,000 homes in poorer neighborhoods.
But more than a year later, Seattle's numbers are lackluster. As of last week, only three homes had been retrofitted and just 14 new jobs have emerged from the program. Many of the jobs are administrative, and not the entry-level pathways once dreamed of for low-income workers. Some people wonder if the original goals are now achievable.

"People are frustrated and rightly so," Curtis said. "There's been sort of a lag time when people graduated from those programs."

They include Long Duong, 32, who got a certificate in sealing air leaks and insulating walls after he was laid off from a job handling bags at the airport. But he soon found that other men had more qualifications than him, and he took part-time gigs - installing light bulbs and canvassing doors – while waiting for work.
A year later, he's still looking.
"I haven't given up yet," said Duong, of South Seattle. "Weatherization is another opportunity for me."

chuck| 8.19.11 @ 7:49AM

Typical government BS. There are companies all over that specialize in insulating homes, and most are dying for lack of work. But instead of giving out vouchers to homeowners, and allowing them to go to existing companies, the government tries to take newbies off the street, and train them to do something they never did, and don't have any of the specialized equipment needed to do. This is Obumbler's vision of government at work for you!

Yet he keeps taking Congress to task for not approving them! Where is the intrepid reporter who has the balls to ask Obummer about that?

martin j smith| 8.19.11 @ 7:43AM

Every candidate for president should respond to Obama's September surprise. I do not expect Obama to say a word about small businesses, the private sector etc. in regards expanding the economy for Jobs. If he does, I better get a double dose of medication.

So far the conventional wisdom is that Obama will double down on spending and taxes and claim republicans are obstructionists. This is what is predicted.

However, since we are dealing with extremely sneaky and clever antagonists it would be prudent to consider some other plan one that sounds or looks good on paper, but has a lot of cheese holes in them. It will have the same motivation to make Republicans appear to Obstruct.

But no matter what Obama does republicans can say: President Obama we will run against YOUR record and YOU can run anywhere you wish.

Why, just last night, he called me a "Brain-washed, Israel-Firster RINO-CINO Flunky Cupcake". I don't even know what that means, but it can't be good.

Here's a clip of Mark Levin talking smack (tee-hee..."smack"!) about that silly Ron Paul:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v.....ture=share

Bob Grant| 8.19.11 @ 4:18PM

Clint's Mom,

Have you covered your tracks for when he finally blows his top and makes the evening news?

Do you have a paper trail of all those therapy sessions spent on boy Clint? Arrest records?

A good excuse? ..."I tried my bestest with that boy he but he wasn't right from the get go. My other 6 boys turned out just fine. Very few arrest records among them. Maybe I should have layed off the Jim Beam and Camel Filterless when I was pregnant...droppin' him on his head prolly' didn't help either."

Bob's Mom| 8.20.11 @ 7:45PM

That's Funny, Iwas knocked up by Allen Brooks,at a George McGovern Rally & that's how I got my little Bobby.

Jack in Wi.| 8.19.11 @ 9:11PM

Mark Levin is notthing but an Israel Firster. He cares about Israel first last and always. He will fight the Muslims no matter how far or no matter how long as long as someone else does it. It is time to put America First and bring our troops home.

Dr. Ron Paul is the soldier's best friend. He will bring them home to their families. They will be guarding America,s borders and shores not the whole world's .

LSinAZ| 8.20.11 @ 9:57AM

C'sMom, I just listened to all 19+ minutes of this, and what I heard was pure rhetoric attacking Ron Paul's positions. Not one of them made a definitive statement as to what they thought would be a good, let alone realistic, alternative. This seems to be pretty typical even of the posters here at TAS.

I read statements like "we can't let Iran get the bomb" but I almost never see a realistic "we should DO xxx"

Should we declare conventional war on Iran?
Should we take out their nuclear reactors?
Should we make sanctions more harsh?
Should we arm a proxy state to fight them?
Should we just nuke them into submission?
Should we go ahead and nuke the entire Middle East?

OK everybody, lets dialog.

Please state WHAT you suggest the United States actually DO to accomplish the Goal.

And then take a sec to post what you believe the most likely outcome would be of the action taken.

I am truly curious to see any suggestions you may have.

irish19| 8.20.11 @ 9:54PM

You raise a lot of very good questions. I am not exactly certain of the direction we should take, except that the mullahs cannot, under any circumstances, be allowed to have the bomb.
Your #4 would be the easiest to implement if you assume Israel would be the proxy stste ( Israelis would no doubt bristle at being so characterized). A couple of dozen bunker busters and an understanding that we would not interfere with such a raid could very easily take care of the problem.
We could no doubt take out the reactors ourselves if we were willing to endure the condemnation from the usual suspects.
Sanctions will not work because the mullahs just don't give a damn.
Nuking the entire area does have a certain charm to it, but on the whole I think your #4 solution would be the best.

chuck| 8.21.11 @ 8:28PM

Take out the nuclear facilities. Support the groups trying to throw out the mullahs. They absolutely must not be able to get the bomb.

Margie| 8.19.11 @ 6:57PM

I'm telling you, Clintypoo/Tim* is the ultimate Roman Catholic.

Jack in Wi.| 8.19.11 @ 9:20PM

Margie, Margie: That Bible you thump all the time was given by God to the Catholic Church. Your right. Clint believes in peace to the world. We Catholics believe in the words of Jesus. " That the truth will set you free. " Jesus said. " Those who live by the sword will die by the sword. " " Blessed are the peacemakers." " Love your neighbor as yourselves. " Margie you are endangering your soul with your constant warmongering and hatemongering.

Margie| 8.19.11 @ 9:40PM

Well, Jack, then here's some more hate for you my man:

God did not give the Bible to Catholics.
Nope. He gave it to all of humankind.
Now you better go ye and say 100 million Hail Mary's and kneel, sit, stand, kneel, sit, stand all night long for telling a falsehood.

Then, I want you to actually read the Bible, it might do you some good.

LSinAZ| 8.20.11 @ 10:07AM

Margie,
I believe that the Bible is a compilation of stories written by men such as Paul, Mark, Luke, etc.

Am I in error here?

The History Channel asserts that the church picked the canons that appear in the final published text, and many "books" of the times did not make the cut...also see Dead Sea Scrolls for more information.

Have they lied about this?

Margie| 8.20.11 @ 1:17PM

The church is the Body of Christ~those who believe in Him and His Words and follow them, it does not mean Catholic Religion.

Clint| 8.20.11 @ 10:49AM

I'm telling you, Joisey White Trash Bigot Pig Margie is the ultimate Fanatic Anti-Catholic Nut Bag.

Margie| 8.20.11 @ 1:20PM

You serve your god well. The hate that you spew toward every Bible believing Christian that stands on His Words is exactly the same hatred that your pals the Papists stood on when they tortured and killed millions of my brethren.

Like I said, you represent your Religion quite well, and are the ultimate representative for Rome.

Still, I hope you repent~ I, like my God, wish that none should perish.

"The Lord is not slow about His promise as some count slowness, but is forbearing toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance." 2 Peter 3:9.

Jack in Wi.| 8.20.11 @ 7:42PM

When it comes to killing people Margie, the Protestants did their share. They killed plenty of Catholics in Ireland, England, Germany, the Netherlands and other countries. I would say probably they it did more and longer then the Catholics. They let a million people starve in Ireland because they were Catholic in the late 1840's and 1850's.

The Bible comes from the Catholic Church Margie. It was God's final editor in the fourth century. The Church also faithfully copied it and preserved it for 11 centuries before Luther ever entered the Catholic university he eventually taught at. It is funny seeing 30,000 Protestant sects fighting over the Catholic Bible. The Bible was just one of the many tools the Church used to spread the Gospel around the world. We were there first China, India, Africa, the America's the Phillipines.

Margie| 8.21.11 @ 9:11PM

Jack,

Whatever they call themselves, you know that if they murdered others they were not Christian.

As to the rest of your post, you've had it explained to you already, so I won't bother to try again.

Do you belong to Christ, Jack? Or do you belong to a Religious cult?

Do you know the Lord Jesus Christ yet, or do you only know what a certain Religion espouses?

That's the question.
I pray that God opens the eyes of Jack in Wi. before it is too late for him.

Elron H.| 8.19.11 @ 8:27AM

"Harris Poll: If Ron Paul Won GOP Nomination, He Would Split Vote With Obama

I wish we could just ascribe RINO Ron Paul's politics to senility, but the facts speak louder than RINO Paul's weasley excuses.

During this new failed run for the GOP nomination, according to conservative Accuracy in the Media, RINO Paul is getting major funding from Russian TV ($1,000,000.00) an anti-American propaganda site. Paul also supported the American hater Adam Kokesh of Russian TV for a failed 2010 run for Congress.

http://www.aim.org/aim-column/.....-ron-paul/

RINO Ron Paul is so pathetic and scared of real man and American loving Republian Rick Perry he's sent one of his minions to the leftist "alternative/homosexual" Austin Chronicle to dig dirt on Perry.

http://www.nbcdfw.com/news/pol.....13098.html

Margie| 8.19.11 @ 7:04PM

Clint/Tim* is a staunch defender of the scum Adam Kokesh, and his ilk.

Did you know that Kokesh teamed up with Code Pink and protested at Mccain/Palin rallies?

Kokesh also has a pal in Rand Paul as well. Don't be fooled by Randy Paul. The apple doesn't fall far...

Clint| 8.20.11 @ 8:00PM

GOP presidential hopeful Ron Paul consistently has said that the United States should get out of Afghanistan and Iraq and that American military bases around the world should be closed.

In this campaign, Paul is getting more donations from people who work for the military than either President Obama or any of the other Republican presidential candidates.

Just below links to information about the "BOK KKK Ohio State Meeting", and the "BOK KKK Pennsylvania State Meeting", Stormfront.org website announced: "Ron Paul for President" and "Countdown to the 5th of November". The links take readers directly to a Ron Paul fundraising site from which they can click into the official Ron Paul 2008 donation page on the official campaign site. Like many white supremacists, Stormfront has ties to white prison gangs."

""Former" KKK leader (and convicted fraudster) David Duke's website http://www.whitecivilrights.com/, calls Ron Paul "our king" and cheers while "Ron Paul Hits a Home Run on Jay Leno Show." Duke also includes a "Ron Paul campaign update" and plugs Ron Paul fundraising efforts. These articles are posted right next to articles such as "Ten reasons why the Holocaust is a fraud" and "Germans Still Remember their Historical Greatness"-featuring a map of Hitler's Third Reich at its 1942 military height, just in case anybody doesn't get the point. Apparently "Dr. Paul's positive agenda for freedom" is attractive to those who ape the world's worst tyrants and genocidaires."

"There is more to the Paul campaign than racists. The mis-named 9-11 "truth" movement has also been a big source of Paul support. The Detroit Free Press describes the scene as Republican Presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani shared the ferry ride back from a Mackinac Island Michigan Republican caucus September 21.

"According to one eyewitness, Giuliani was beset by dozens of Paul enthusiasts as he was leaving the island, some of whom shouted taunts about 9/11, including: ‘9/11 was an inside job' and ‘Rudy, Rudy, what did you do with the gold?' -- an apparent reference to rumors about $200 million in gold alleged to have disappeared in the collapse of the World Trade Center towers. Ed Wyszynski, a longtime party activist from Eagle, (MI) said the Paul supporters threatened to throw Giuliani overboard and harassed him as he took shelter in the ferry's pilothouse for the 15-minute journey back to Mackinaw City."

Austin, Texas, 30 October 2009 — At the invitation of Texas State Governor Rick Perry, Mawlana Hazar Imam traveled to Austin yesterday to sign an Agreement of Cooperation between the State of Texas and the Ismaili Imamat. During the visit, Hazar Imam and Governor Perry also held talks at the State Capitol on a range of issues of mutual interest

Describing the importance of the agreement, Governor Perry explained that “traditional Western education speaks little of the influence of Muslim scientists, scholars, throughout history, and for that matter the cultural treasures that stand today in testament to their wisdom.”

Michael Tomlinson| 8.20.11 @ 12:16AM

Clint, Jack in Wi and the other personalities your projecting onto others your actions is another example of the fractured personality that is Clint, Jack in Wi, etc.. Until you purge yourself of the shared delusion that undermines your sanity you will remain a fractured individual with multiple personalities.

Zoomies used to be used for USMC Cobra pilots, but I'm not what a zoombie is. Jack in Wi you might want to ask your other presonality Sean or Brian to define it.

Clint| 8.19.11 @ 11:41AM

Amen Jack.

Actually, The Primary Poseur Poster Appears To Be Non- Other Than The ObamaBoy Israel Firster Negative Attention Craving Allen Brooks.

Not that Other Israel Firsters Didn't Also Jump On The Poseur Sled.

Also, as Dr.Ron Paul said, Rick Perry & Mittens Romney are cutting into each others voters, making Dr.Ron Paul's Campaign Easier.

Michael Tomlinson| 8.19.11 @ 11:58AM

Now the personalities are complimenting one another that is incredible. Often there is hostility between one or more of the personalities. But do they actually know they are the same person? If not that probably explains their ability to communicate with each other. Just fascinating.

The Perry Israel Firster Got Hoisted On Their Own Petard.

"Austin, Texas, 30 October 2009 — At the invitation of Texas State Governor Rick Perry, Mawlana Hazar Imam traveled to Austin yesterday to sign an Agreement of Cooperation between the State of Texas and the Ismaili Imamat.

Doctor Right| 8.19.11 @ 12:09PM

So let's follow your...ahem..."logic?

Perry and Romney have more supporters than Paul. So when either Perry or Romney leaves the race, WHY do you think any of their supporters would jump to Ru Paul???

Maybe you should change your VFTPP name to "Clint Airhead"...

Michael Tomlinson| 8.19.11 @ 12:16PM

If the chose is Romney or Paul. I'd be forced to vote for the moderate Republican not the RINO Paul. But that isn't going to happen in the Republican Party -- we may be boring, but we're sane.

Doctor Right| 8.19.11 @ 1:09PM

You're NOT too bright, are you?

Can both Perry AND Romney be elected President?

Hmmmm????

Actually, dummy, I said "If EITHER Perry or Romney leaves the race".

Hey, Jack...

I hate to break the news, but Ron Paul is NOT associated with the Tea Party, and most Tea Party activists do NOT support Ron Paul.

That's a total myth that you liber-tard clowns like to spread, and that Paul promulgates for his own purposes.

If there is ONE candidate who is strongly associated with the Tea Party and it's success since 2009, it's Michelle Bachman...the one you stupidly call a "neocon" (Hey, Jack...Psssssssssttt...she's NOT Jewish, so you don't have to hate her...)

But you're not interested in the truth, or facts.

Clint| 8.20.11 @ 7:17PM

Dr.Reich, Attempts To Bullcrap The readers With His Usual Propaganda.

"Tea partiers in two camps: Sarah Palin vs. Ron Paul
The survey, was an exit poll conducted Thursday by Edison Research at the massive Tax Day protest on the National Mall,
Palin, who topped the list with 15 percent, speaks for the 43 percent of those polled expressing the distinctly conservative view that government does too much, while also saying that it needs to promote traditional values.

Paul’s thinking is reflected by an almost identical 42 percent who said government does too much but should not try to promote any particular set of values — the hallmarks of libertarians. He came in second to Palin with 12 percent.

When asked to choose from a list of candidates for president in 2012, Palin and Paul also finished one-two — with Palin at 15 percent and Paul at 14 percent. "

Texas is a right to work state already, and loser pays has been implemented as law there. As for the rest of the list - pipeline, junking ethanol (as big of a scam as global warming), etc - those are all things Rick Perry has already proven that he would support. (good article and right on the money)

Michael Tomlinson| 8.19.11 @ 8:12AM

Spot on!

JohnC| 8.19.11 @ 8:17AM

Free trade agreements with Canada and Mexico have created tremendous opportunities for U.S. industries, yeah, right -- like outsourcing many American factories, technology & pharmaceutical plants, along with good-paying middle class jobs. And more outsourcing and loss of jobs will come with this new trade agreement, plus Obama is also pushing this canard. What is the writer smoking?

Also I noticed that he did not mention passing E-Verify to help American teenagers find work in lower paid jobs or curtailing H1-B visas.

The rest of his suggestions are good but alas both bought-out Parties are globalists and only favor Wall Street not Main Street. And the liberal, anti-American multi-national corporations screw middle class America every chance they get-- coming next, after all our taxpayer bailouts, is their reward of thousands of more pink slips.

GE, for example, which paid zero income taxes, is sending their taxpayer, subsidized green work over to communist China –where is the conservative outrage on this malarkey?

irish19| 8.19.11 @ 11:39AM

Nice catch on the E-verify & H-1B visas.
Again, however, a top to bottom reform of our education system is going to be required to move the economy forward. All those jobs will mean nothing if there are not enough American workers with the necessary skill sets to fill them.

The Bishop| 8.19.11 @ 8:36AM

Great article. Concrete ideas that will yield fantastic result. I especially love the loser pays tort reform. It would shrink a lot of classes in these stupid class-action lawsuits. Let's see if any of the R candidates take this excellent suggestion.

wodiej| 8.19.11 @ 8:40AM

Recently a green corp that got stimulus funds of $50 billion + went belly up. I hear Obama will again promote infrastructure for jobs. This is a great article and a good start. Leadership starts at the top conservatives so get on it. Quit bickering w each other and take Obama behind the woodshed. Gov. Palin said this week on Greta when asked what she would to create jobs if she were President, Palin said let the states and individuals do it and then the private sector would grow. Amen.

Sean| 8.19.11 @ 8:44AM

Here is a solution. Elect Ron Paul.

Jack in Wi.| 8.19.11 @ 11:23AM

Amen to that: It is intresting that they think if they don't mention Dr. Ron Paul's name the elephant in the room will disappear. We are not going to take another neocon war stooge like Romney, Perry or Bachman. We are mad as hell and not going to take it anymore.

irish19| 8.19.11 @ 11:41AM

Knock yourselves out. Paul has zero chance of getting elected. Anyone who is okay with Iran's "Megatons for the Mullahs" program is eminently unqualified to sit in the Oval Office.

Jack in Wi.| 8.19.11 @ 12:40PM

Iran is not a threat and never has been a threat to the USA. It is a peaceful country which hasn't attacked anyone for 200 years. Unlike like Israel which atttacks or threatens to attack it's neighbors every other week. Our CIA and The International Atomic Energy Agency both say that Iran is not now making any atomic weapons. Iran has the right to have nuclear power under international law. It is under constant inspection.

irish19| 8.19.11 @ 3:53PM

If you really, honestly believe that, then you are too far gone to even attempt to reason with.

Doctor Right| 8.19.11 @ 4:29PM

Since when do you Liber-tards care what the CIA says??

Or are you referring to crack-pot ex-CIA Islamophile Michael Scheuer??

Sean| 8.19.11 @ 5:09PM

Since you are the one afraid to fight in wars, while our brave men and women do it for you, I'd say you're the flaming coward!

Sean| 8.21.11 @ 3:38AM

Ron Paul has massive support from our troops that are fighting these wars. Brave men are not afraid of third world nations. You support these wars why don't you go join up Margie. My brother a Ron Paul supporter already has fought in Afghanistan.
By the way you should save your soul and convert to Catholicism.

Margie| 8.21.11 @ 9:16PM

Of course Sean, you don't have to be afraid of third world nations,, or of anyone else, terrorists included since those brave men and women that you speak of so highly do your fighting for you.

God bless them, hmm?

Michael Tomlinson| 8.20.11 @ 12:32AM

Another one of the personalities coming out – there are at 4 personalities Clint, Jack in Wi, Sean and Brian. Could there be more? Where is the female personality since we've observed latent homosexuality in Clint there must be a female personality for balance?

Boar Hunter| 8.19.11 @ 12:50PM

Ron Paul is a nut.

Jack in Wi.| 8.19.11 @ 5:38PM

I used to do work in a large home for the mentally handicapped. A lot of them used to repeat nonsensical phrases over and over. Your RonPaul is a nut over and over places you in that milieu. Ron Paul is the intellectual and moral giant setting the agenda for the whole Republican.

Boar Hunter| 8.19.11 @ 9:19PM

But Ron Paul is a nut. Crazy people actually are more likely to ramble nonsensically which is what you do. They also delude themselves by believing idiotic things even when confronted by reality which is something else you do. The problem is that when forced to accept reality they frequently can't accept it and it generally overwhelms them. Ron Paul is a nut. Did that push you over the edge?

Michael Tomlinson| 8.20.11 @ 12:42AM

Jack in Wi it is obvious you're trying to reunite the pesonalities by challenging your closet homosexual Clint peronality by rejecting his repetitive mantras, but you must openly challenge Clint's screeds rather than attacking those who point out the obvious. How you deal with the absurdity below will impact how quickly you heal.

No, I am a conservative and supporter of Ron Paul. He has the best voting record of anyone running for office. He voted for the least amount of spending out of anyone. He supports trimming the Federal government back to Constitutional size. He is for a sane foreign policy that protects America and its interests.

Unleash the private sector and choak off the federal and state bureaucracies.
Keep repeating until the Nov. 2012 election and each day there after, until leftism is run into the ground once and for all.

Bob Grant| 8.19.11 @ 9:27AM

Great ideas. A good start.

The issue will be, however, articulating these ideas to the American people. Republicans always fail miserably in this area.

Green Lantern's health care ideas were the same as John McCain's in 2008 but were never taken seriously because he didn't articulate nor defend them well at all.

And when I mean articulate and defend I mean delivering consistent, specific points to all proposals as well as countering the opposition's proposals, in detail. Day in day out. Not just when your biorhythms are working.

Add to Green Lantern's list:

* Deep cuts to the Farm Subsidy program
*Move NASA to the private sector
* Enact strong Right To Work laws
* Elimination of wage controls
* Implementation of a Race-to-the-Moon type of program to eliminate waste and inefficiencies in the Federal government using the Six Sigma Lean methodology. States and local government would also be encouraged to find inefficiencies using Best Practices.

irish19| 8.19.11 @ 11:44AM

Like all of it except the wage controls. I suspect you're thinking of something like limitations to collective bargaining. A person should be paid based on what they and the work they do is worth. Wage controls throw a wrench into that. Unless, of course, you mean controls on base wages only (still an iffy idea) but allow for bonuses.

Bob Grant| 8.19.11 @ 4:23PM

I'm just saying maybe it's time workers should negotiate their compensation independently and not through the dictates of some union or government.

Amity Shlaes discusses this in her book The Forgotten Man.

irish19| 8.20.11 @ 12:39AM

In that case, we're on the same page.

I think the loons are the ones that supported TARP, auto bailouts, unbalanced and unconstitutional spending.

Boar Hunter| 8.19.11 @ 5:38PM

I agree with your view on that issue, but Ron Paul is a nut.

Clint| 8.19.11 @ 9:51AM

"Like ( Dr. Ron )Paul, Reagan ran for President a couple of times before finally winning in 1980. In fact, when Ronald Reagan ran for the Republican nomination in 1976 he was opposed by the Republican leadership and was even considered a “kook” by many in the party. Sound familiar? At that time, only four Republican congressman supported Reagan and Ron Paul was one of them."

Jack in Wi.| 8.19.11 @ 11:25AM

Clint these guys are going to be crying their heads off when you and I are going to Ron Paul's innaugeration.

Michael Tomlinson| 8.19.11 @ 11:48AM

Now the personalities are talking to each other. That's actually a psychological break through. Sadly, they're stranded in a shared delusion.

This would be an incredible case for a major psychiatric clinic.

Boar Hunter| 8.19.11 @ 12:40PM

Ron Paul is a nut.

DaveD| 8.19.11 @ 7:20PM

So tell us, what do you really think about Ron Paul?

Boar Hunter| 8.19.11 @ 8:00PM

Seriously, I used to like Ron Paul and thought he brought up some great ideas, then I found out he was a nut. The difference between those of us on the rational conservative side and those on the Ron Paul side is that if I learned Perry was a nut I would no longer support him. Instead of listening to any reasoned discourse these humorless, unhinged Paul Bots just stomp their feet and yell.. Oooo! We're gonna get you next time; And I would a got away with it too if it weren't for you meddling kids, or some other nutty incomprehensible thing. They just can't believe the guy they support is irrelevant. Not even the lib media wastes their time attacking Paul cause he's a nut.

Stormzeye| 8.19.11 @ 9:54AM

Though Green Lantern's article is a good one, the real problem with job creation is not with industrial jobs, it's the demand for service jobs. This has become a service based economy (for good or ill) and most of the jobs lost and that we will continue to loose are in the service, not the manufacturing sector. I know we don't need more mortgage brokers or dog walkers but what are we to do with these formerly employed people? The TSA can only hire so many of them!

R Martin| 8.19.11 @ 9:58AM

14. Eliminate all government support, implicit and explicit, for Fannie and Freddie. Recapture obscene bonuses paid to former Democrat directors of those entities.

15. Turn the mortgage business back to the banks and let them get on with it without oppressive regulation. Stop trying to turn banks into utilities.

Bob Grant| 8.19.11 @ 10:05AM

The "implicit" government support for Fannie and Freddie is what caused much of this financial and economic mess.

How about if we throw the likes of Barney Frank, Franklin Raines, James Johnson, and Maxine "Zero Down" Waters in jail.

Michael Tomlinson| 8.19.11 @ 10:23AM

I'm with Bob Grant off to prison with them, but would homosexual rape in the showers be punishment for Barney Frank?

Don't forget Jamie Gorelick the mother of 9/11 and a Franklin Delano Raines sidekick at Fannie Mae.

Bob Grant| 8.19.11 @ 10:44AM

"but would homosexual rape in the showers be punishment for Barney Frank?"....

No homosexual rape for Barney. This is supposed to be punishment. No parties!

Sure, we'll set up a cot for Jamie Whorelick.

Michael Tomlinson| 8.19.11 @ 11:43AM

That must mean Barney gets solitary confinement.

irish19| 8.19.11 @ 11:46AM

I suggest sending Barney to a women's prison. That would be punishment.

Michael Tomlinson| 8.19.11 @ 11:50AM

irish19 cruel, but I like your out of the box thinking.

Bob Grant| 8.19.11 @ 5:15PM

Yea. And Barney wouldn't like it either.

martin j smith| 8.19.11 @ 10:11AM

Whatever the "solution" is, it must resonate with voters in a positive way. It should not be a document of 5 zillion pages but instead articulated in a sentence or two --ok maybe three.
What I believe people want to hear is this from a Presidential candidate: I believe in America and our potential and we want everyone on board to have their American Dream. Our first priority is to gain confidence thru supporting SMALL BUSINESS and ENTREPRENEURS to hire and invest in our country. I put it this way on purpose because there is too much crony capitalism going on now including under GWB.

Michael Tomlinson| 8.19.11 @ 10:24AM

Great suggestions that if implemented would create jobs, restore America's primacy in the world and reverse the nightmare that has been the Obamanation.

shoelessmusic| 8.19.11 @ 10:59AM

This was a great article! I completely agree with every one of these bullet points. Why we are not doing these things is beyond me -- they just make good sense -- specially considering the direction our country is headed, which is down.

diviz| 8.19.11 @ 10:59AM

Better to raise minimum wage. This would encourage investment in automation to eliminate the jobs entirely and automation leads to more productive workers which leads to growth.

Michael Tomlinson| 8.19.11 @ 11:44AM

Tom8 it would also make it competitive driving down prices and bend the medical cost curve down. But your point is good and should be considered when putting the legislation together.

Paul from SA| 8.19.11 @ 12:08PM

Those are all easy.

The hard part and the most important part is to cut gov't spending.

How many jobs are destroyed or not created when the gov't removes $1 trillion from the private economy?

The author's strategy is perfect. It presents a common sense list most Americans fully understand and are very angry about.

But, just as important, it pre-empts Obama's joke of a speech with a special twist of the knife of predicting what that Marxist SOB will present.

This tactic of predicting what the left will do is very effective, especially if a good measure of ridicule is mixed in. More Republicans should do it, but, alas, they're stupid.

Will any of the front runners follow the author's advice. Nope...

Oldefarte| 8.19.11 @ 12:55PM

This excellent editorial proposes that the detailed Republican points be suggested, which is great in theory but not so in reality. The Democrats are now IN CHARGE OF THE GOVERNMENT, since they control majoritively 2/3 to the Republican's 1/3. The most essential point is that these [and others as well] excellent suggestions for economic revival cannot become incorporated if/until the voters ELECT REPUBLICANS to take over control of the senate and the white house. As I've said before, IT'S THE DEMOCRATS, STUPIDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gary B| 8.19.11 @ 1:04PM

Oldfarte,

Of course, your statements are correct, but Green Lantern's idea would make a great campaign speech. If fact, if I were running, I'd make that same speech every week.

Reagan did that. He chose several main points and kept repeating them until everyone knew exactly where he stood on the issues.

idalily| 8.19.11 @ 3:35PM

THIS is what candidates of both parties have stopped doing. Dems don't do it because their positions can be proved wrong by the facts. Repubs don't do it because they have been cowardly and timid. If any candidate took THIS list and came out with it before Obama came back, that candidate would have my vote, not only for having positions I agree with, but have the guts to stand up and say so and the leadership ability to come out in front with a plan before Obama. Perry? Romney? Michelle? Are you listening?

Gary B| 8.19.11 @ 5:39PM

idalily,

My favorite part of GM's suggestion was pre-empting Obama with a prediction of what he'll say. I love that! That would leave the White House sputtering and Clown in Chief looking even dumber than he already appears. If I were Perry, I'd jump on this ASAP.

Gary B| 8.19.11 @ 5:40PM

I meant GL's suggestion. I must have been thinking about Obama car company. You know, the one he stole from the bond holders.

irish19| 8.20.11 @ 10:07PM

You mean Generally Mediocre Corp?

Oldefarte| 8.19.11 @ 3:36PM

Absolutely agree, Gary B! I'm just pointing out that until Republicans gain control and can therefore implement GL's itemized listings, these proposals are essentially useless [since MARTHA'S VINYARD-BOY sure as hades won't do so]!!!!!!!!

Gary B| 8.19.11 @ 5:36PM

Fingers crossed!

What we need right now is a "strong conservative" Republican who will stand up to both the liberal Democrats and Republican's on these and other issues. Until Perry came into the race, the ones with the biggest testicles were our women (How sad is that). I am sick to death of these John BooHooer types who try and appease these school yard bullies. The bully never relents, but our side refuses to learn that lesson. When a true conservative leader rises up (Take Palin as an example), the lib's are going to go apoplectic. The Tea Party terrorist accusation is the most pathetic accusation I have ever heard in my life, but it reveals the liberal's awareness of the odds against them. If the left is aware of it, why aren't we?

It saddens me that the natural selection process doesn't occur anymore, since our society has devolved into one where people too stupid to feed themselves are protected from literally everything and everyone. For their chosen career, these people have learned to live, not off the charity of others (Which they find insufficient for their needs), but the life's blood of their countrymen. The government takes money from its productive members and gives it to these fleas and locusts in exchange for their votes...and they indignantly call that fair.

Using these flash mobs as an example of the depth to which this cancer has afflicted us, some of us know exactly how to solve that problem, but too many in society have long ago lost the will to do what needs to be done. As a consequence, the Morlocks are now among us. I pray a true leader comes on the scene very soon and drives these liars and lovers of lies back into the primordial ooze they claim to hail from by speaking up for the truth and helping to teach the next generation of people to become self reliant. We need limited government now more than ever. We need to return to the teachings of our founding fathers or our country will surely perish.

On a side note, I marvel at how emboldened some of these young men are by the anonymity of posting on a computer. I can't help but think that if they were having some of these conversations in a tavern a couple hundred years ago, they might learn a thing or two about polite and manly discourse. Oh, and by the way...Ron Paul is a nut.

Good list. A-freakin'-men.

As I said the author has some good ideas but until we stop selling Red China the rope to hang us with we are doomed, economically and militarily.

Al Gore was wrong, Perot was right and Lenin (or was it Karl Marx) too.

8. Sign the free trade agreements with Korea, Colombia, and Panama that have been languishing in Congress. The agreement with Korea alone would add $10 billion to the American economy and create 70,000 U.S. jobs. Free trade agreements with Canada and Mexico have created tremendous opportunities for U.S. industries."

What total nonsense. The United States has lost 8 million manufacturing jobs to China and other countries under the Free Trade agreements that it has passed, and this writer is proposing more Free Trade? Please tell me how many cars does the the United States ship to China? The biggest thing that the United States exports to China is used paper so the Chinese can make cardboard boxes to send us manufactured goods.

One thing I'd like to offer regarding health insurance. Maybe it should be de-linked from from the benefits a employer offers and made more readily available to individuals. The tax benefits should go to the employee. The employer can use the savings in not having to offer and administer the plan as higher wages or more hiring. This also allows people to more readily change jobs, creating a more liquid labor market.

Well Done! Paragraph 7., last sentence: remove the word "not".

Is the topic Clint or What Repub Candidates should be saying about not only Obama but his peanut gallery in Congress ?

First off I like Rick Perry's comments about Bernanke--its not directly about jobs buts its the right tone. I do think its time to challenge Obama's neglect of the Private Sector by asking him if he knows what the Private Sector is---and if he does why he is ignoring it. And, if Obama wants conversations with and wants "everything on the table" then what about focusing on the Private sector ? And, how to gain confidence in investing and hiring--what he can do. I know he knows all of this headwise but not in his heart at all. But I suggest giving him baite. And, what about tax reform--is that "on the table" ? In orther words--What Republican ideas is he willing to accept ? --If any ?

martin j smith| 8.20.11 @ 10:06AM

If his answer is NONE at all then THAT SHOULD BE A MAJOR CAMPAIGN ISSUE.

I agree, but I'd find your piece more pursuasive if I could trust your factual assertions -- the Department of Labor has nothing to do with the Boeing debacle -- it is the National Labor Relations Board.
