Kennedy Family Feud

Now that no Kennedy holds political office in Washington, they’re fighting each other.

The Kennedys fought with the likes of Franklin Roosevelt, Jimmy Hoffa, and Robert Bork over the duration of thirteen presidential administrations. Now that no Kennedy holds political office in Washington, they’re fighting each other.

The family feud involves two iconic landmarks: the Kennedy Cape Cod compound and the John F. Kennedy Library overlooking Dorchester Bay.

In Hyannis Port, Ted Kennedy’s heirs prepare to transform the waterfront mansion the family has owned for 85 years into a retreat for thinkers and politicians contemplating public policy. The compound where early movie-mogul Joe Kennedy screened films for starlet Gloria Swanson, where the brood played touch-football games, and where Ted secluded himself after Chappaquiddick will morph from a familiar family gathering spot to a meeting place for strangers. The neighbors — i.e., others Kennedys who have purchased homes adjacent to the main house — are perturbed.

So, one might deduce, is the longtime owner. “Rose wanted to turn the place over to the Benedictine monks before she died,” Benedict Fitzgerald, the family matriarch’s personal attorney, told author Joe Klein for his book Ted Kennedy: The Dream That Never Died. “I drew up the legal papers for her on my front porch. But when Ted found out about it, he ripped the thing in half. There was no way he was going to have the place turned into a monastery.”

Wresting control of the property from mother Rose, Ted Kennedy instructed his heirs to deed it to the Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the United States Senate. Instead of a house of God, the property will become a Temple of Ted.

The breaking up of the Kennedy compound reverberates further north on the Massachusetts coast. The family of Robert F. Kennedy, whose papers are stored at the John F. Kennedy Library, threatens to remove the archived material relating to the slain attorney general and senator. The library offered to name a 30,000-square-foot wing in honor of Robert Kennedy to placate his family but only managed to further inflame matters. As former Congressman Joseph Kennedy recently groused, “They offered to put the name on a hallway.”

Even before it opened, the John F. Kennedy Library’s overtures to Robert Kennedy’s family had provoked their ire. Future Congressman Joe Kennedy spitefully threatened to boycott the October 21, 1979 dedication of the presidential library because the cinematic tribute it made to his father was considerably shorter than the film honoring John F. Kennedy. In 1991, the library angered Robert’s widow Ethel when it named a meeting facility for Stephen Smith, the Kennedy in-law who oversaw family business and managed the presidential campaigns of Robert and Ted Kennedy. The library’s decision to release 63 boxes of the former attorney general’s papers dealing with Vietnam, civil rights, and other sensitive topics has unleashed the most recent threat to take the papers elsewhere.

If readers uninitiated in Kennedyana find it comical that the family of an attorney general distinguished (?) primarily for ordering the shameful snooping on Martin Luther King demands equal billing at a presidential museum, then the money-dripping family once mistaken as the American arm of the Catholic Church reneging on a commitment to deed property to monks vowing poverty will seem hilarious. To those remembering the great promise of Camelot, all of this appears pathetic.

Kennedys fighting over their past is certainly preferable to Kennedys fighting over your present. The post-politics Kennedys reduced from above-the-fold hard news to TMZ is a sign of the family’s decline from a royalty that rules to a royalty that rules the tabloids. We know you are history when your history preoccupies.

Internecine battles are nothing new to the Kennedys. Twelve years before he loudly undermined President Lyndon Johnson, Robert Kennedy quietly cast an Ike ballot after the Democratic nominee rejected a Stevenson-Kennedy ticket. Ted Kennedy similarly maneuvered behind the scenes in 1972 to scuttle George McGovern picking Boston Mayor Kevin White as a running mate and coldly refused to raise President Jimmy Carter’s hand on the platform at the fractured 1980 Democratic convention.

The more unfaithful their actions toward their party, the more the party faithful adored them. As the Kennedys fought other Democrats, their heirs fight other Kennedys.

With 2011 marking the first year since 1946 without a Kennedy in Washington, the family isn’t in a position to cannibalize their party. Instead, they’ve turned on one another. Democrats should be grateful.

The Kennedys have gotten away with a lot with their hypocrisy, elitism and overall chutzpah.

However, nature has a sense of humor. The Kennedys found out that the only law you can't violate is the law of gravity.

masly | 7.18.11 @ 12:18PM

Why does anyone still care what the Kennedy's do? Of course they turn on each other, there is no honor among thieves.

Dr. Lydia Masly: You are a boring old hag and
ex-prostitute.

Jim| 7.25.11 @ 9:37AM

I am sure Ole Teddy, were he around, would take you up on your offer.

Alan Brooks| 7.18.11 @ 11:01PM

I'd take RFK over anyone in the Bush family, RFK ought to have been president rather than Nixon-- and Sirhan Sirhan ought to be tortured for what he did, he never gave diddly for the Palestinians; Sirhan was a drunken little glory-seeker who should have died a painful death a long time ago.

Granny| 7.20.11 @ 8:08PM

The Bush Presidents were both kind, good, and generous to many. Loyal to their wives. I didn't agree with all their actions, but I see no reason at all for your remarks. The law of thermodynamics applies to the Kennedy family, I'm sorry to say.

A. Gabe| 7.25.11 @ 9:13AM

I'd take any Bush family member over any rotten Kennedy. How do you like that?

LifeIsAnArt| 7.25.11 @ 10:19PM

I don't think that wishing evil upon anyone is the way to go in this- at 18 years old, I grieved very much when RFK was murdered. I also grieved when Reagan was shot. It's always easy to grieve over "what might have been" - and in RFK's case, that really is an unknown. Sad that he died, but much sadder that the political climate today is one where just because the "other party" is the one who suffered the loss or the injury, people act like it was deserved. Come on, people! Where is, first of all, your heart, followed quickly behind by "where is your brain?"

Osama| 7.21.11 @ 1:06AM

Please don't put Teddy down...He has been canonized by his Church and made the patron saint of underwater drivers....St. Teddy of Chapaquidic....Look it up...

Gretchen| 7.24.11 @ 5:00PM

OUCH!!!!!

Melvin| 7.18.11 @ 7:26AM

The Kennedy's be damned.

Alan Brooks| 7.18.11 @ 11:03PM

Okay, then the Bushes, too. May they roast in Hell for wasting 12 years.

Mark| 7.21.11 @ 6:34PM

Alan, why are you so angry. You have the right to disapprove and the right to gripe and moan all you want, but the sheer vitriol in your remarks seems out of place. "He who hates his brother is a murderer". -Jesus

A. Gabe| 7.25.11 @ 9:15AM

No, may you roast there for your vicious attacks on good people, moral people, sound people. YOu must be an obama suck-up! Figures.

Pecos Pete| 7.18.11 @ 7:48AM

I'm not a Democrat, but I'm grateful too ... I'm grateful for the political decline and fall of the Kennedy Clan.

murder, mayhem, criminality, bribery, adultery, boozing, drugs, dishonesty, and treason. We know enough about this gang.

WRTolkas| 7.18.11 @ 9:07AM

Well be grateful. You didn't list cannibalism.

Peter| 7.19.11 @ 9:09AM

The Kennedys--a criminal shanty Irish clan that lucked into a fortune through illegal bootlegging of whiskey and stock market manipulation. They're the best argument for bannning lotteries--give a moron a bankroll and they tend to self-destruct and take everyone and everything around them with them. Sit back for a few moments and contemplate the damage this clan of idiots has done to the American republic. Ted met his maker 40 years too late. I SPIT ON THEM ALL.

Kelly Staples| 7.18.11 @ 8:11AM

. . .distinguished (?) Exactly. And that goes for his brothers, too.

PCC| 7.18.11 @ 8:14AM

I, too, am pleased that the malign liberal Kennedy presence no longer graces official Washington.

Nevertheless, the family sacrificed its eldest son in service to the country in World War II, and two sons slain in public service.

Only the hardest hearts would denigrate that sacrifice.

John Navratil| 7.18.11 @ 8:53AM

PCC,

And only the softest head idolizes these interlopers. If I have any pity, it is for the matriarch, Rose. Otherwise I'm pleased to see them gone. One hopes the Clintons and Obamas will be following them soon into oblivion.

A. Gabe| 7.25.11 @ 9:17AM

Amen to that. And, it cannot happen too soon for me. All garbage people. . .

W| 7.18.11 @ 10:25AM

Not a fan of Teddy, but JFK served honorably in WWII, and was assassinated by a commie traitor, Oswald. RFK was killed by a Palestinian muslim terrorist, Sirhan. For some reason, the MSM did not on this, preferring conspiracies and not discussing Sirhan's stated motive for killing RFK, that RFK supported Israel.

sinanju| 7.18.11 @ 1:09PM

Sirhan, we hardly know ye.

Technically, Sirhan Bishara Sirhan is a Palestinian Christian. Still a Jordanian citizen apparently, brought to America by a father who beat him and his brothers frequently, then abandoned the family to return to the Middle East.

Sirhan's notebooks and journals and his own testimony make it clear he was obsessed with Israel hatred and he killed RFK for his stated support of Israel. He timed the assassination for the first anniversary of the Six-day War. I was a kid in the seventies and raised to regard the Kennedys as demigods. In those days Sirhan Sirhan existed as a name only, nothing at all was ever said about him and I was led to conclude he must have been a native of planet Zorgon. The liberal establishment does not want us peasants to know RFK was killed by one of their pet Palestinians. Any more than they want to admit that JFK was killed by a leftist.

W| 7.18.11 @ 5:53PM

Thanks for the info, good post

PolishKnight| 7.18.11 @ 10:48AM

I call BS.

A sacrifice implies acceptance of risk. Going into a combat role in war is certainly an openly risky activity, but running for president is hardly a sacrifice. If anything, the president now has an effective Praetorian (sp?) guard to both defend him and deal with bimbo control. How many young women were escorted into JFK's bedroom by the secret service?

Even WWII was a tool of the left to solidify democrat personal political power. Yes, I have a hard heart but these power hungry monsters would happily shove a million people under a bus to protect themselves and their agenda. If they happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time, literally, it certainly wasn't due to any nobility on most of their parts. Ted Kennedy symbolized the way that a Kennedy deals with disaster: Saving his own skin and having the police cover it up for him.

The Kennedy's now are a symbol of what the left portrayed the right as: A bunch of spoiled, inbred, blue-blood wealthy living off the sweat of the masses.

A. Gabe| 7.25.11 @ 9:19AM

Amen to that! You are so very right! I am sick to death of lefty loons who all have too much power and money and consider the rest of us as unimportant. Ted was the worst of them all!

LifeIsAnArt| 7.25.11 @ 10:19PM

Well said!

Further evidence that America does not need 'royalty', that the founding fathers understood that perfectly.

America has suffered irreparably from this American 'royalty'.

JimH| 7.18.11 @ 8:46AM

Had they attempted to make it a monestary I could just see the clouds of steam rising from all the holy water hitting the place and first needing to be applied.

W| 7.18.11 @ 9:04AM

It is difficult to accept that Republicans like Hatch, McCain, and GWB went out of their way to "work" with "Teddy" to pass bills, most recently the idiotic No Child Left Behind, writtend by Teddy's staff. They should have shunned him for killing a young lady, and for defaming true conservatives such as Bork. Yet they lined up to kiss his ring to seek approval and acceptance into the ruling class.

R Martin| 7.18.11 @ 9:16AM

The Kennedys have always thought morals are pictures on walls and scruples are Russian money. We should be thankful Obama is an only child.

Mike Hawk| 7.18.11 @ 10:07AM

I think at one point the Kennedy's heard philanthropy was an honorable thing to do, but when young Teddy went to look it up in the dictionary, he became confused when he found philander first. It is all history since.

They were never royalty or a dynasty except in the MSM.

Presidents get their own libraries; Robert Kennedy was NEVER President, as cruel as fate may have been.

Now that their power is quickly fading away, it's good to see the Kennedy's for what they truly are and have always been:

Nouveau-Rich Trash.

But you will never understand because you have missed the boat horribly. our faith has the greatest gifts and our religion is the one true religion begun by Jesus Himself. Tom| 7.18.11 @ 11:25AM

RFK was a prince among the leftists, the media elevated him above his brother because he could never be president... I too think its funny.

As loathsome as the Kennedys are, the Dioceses of Boston is just about as low given how it kow-towed to the clan.

The church establishment disgraces itself for money and the privilage of gettng close to worldly power & wealth, a decent from which it has yet to recover.

Tom| 7.18.11 @ 11:24AM

Yep, couldn't do without the Kennedy protection or feared Kennedy retribution.

froglegs| 7.18.11 @ 10:09AM

The 2011 made for TV mini series "The Kennedys" that never made it to TV is available now streaming on Netflix. I watched it a week ago and recommend it. It shows Joe Kennedy Sr. as the creator of the Kennedy nightmare and ends with Bobby's death.

Liberal Bay Stater| 7.18.11 @ 10:53AM

I noticed something every time the topic is Kennedy on this blog the word Chappaquiddick always pops up.

Tom| 7.18.11 @ 11:23AM

And why not Lib Bay Stater, Ted was a killer and a coward, Chappaquiddick should be his ONLY legacy. Ted was a dirt-bag even before Mary Jo's death.

LarryK| 7.18.11 @ 2:19PM

Mary Jo Kopechne could not be reached for comment.

skip| 7.18.11 @ 3:09PM

Chappaquiddick?

Isn't that where a Kennedy drove his car off a bridge, left it underwater, leaving a woman in the car to suffocate gradually, as each breath she took, hour after hour, reduced the remaining oxygen available to her, even as that Kennedy called the hotel manager to complain he could not sleep, because of loud partying by adjacent hotel guests at 3am, while the woman was slowly suffocating, for several more hours, before dying from suffocation?

That Chappaquiddick?

W| 7.18.11 @ 3:34PM

I thought it was where Teddy's "people" forced hims to drink lots of orange juice and coffee to eliminate the alcohol by urination, in case of a blood alcohol test, and then the conference calls with the lawyers and others for the "story." It is all in Damore's book, Senatorial Privilige.

skip| 7.18.11 @ 4:26PM

Isn't that Kennedy the same Kennedy that the genius liberal Bay State voters continuously elected for another 40 years or so?

So he would be the Kennedy that truely represented the average liberal Bay State voter's morals as well as intelligence and honesty?

Does Damore's book document the telephone calls made, with that Kennedy's credit card, from the time he drove the car off the bridge to the time of death due to suffocation, without any of the calls to law enforcement or emergency medical telephone numbers, but to numerous lawyers?

W| 7.18.11 @ 5:40PM

Skip, on vacation; will check it out when i get home. I know there were calls to get the "story"straight. there is no question if he would have reported it immediately they probably could have saved Mary Jo. In Pa, homicide by vehicle while intoxicated gives you a mandatory minimum 3 years in prison.
I believe that 3:00 AM phone call about a party was part of a story to give Teddy an alibi if he decided to go the Clinton route and deny he was with Mary Joe, i doubt teddy ever complained about party noise, he would have joined the party.

skip| 7.18.11 @ 11:34PM

Regardless, Kennedy called the hotel manager to lodge a complaint about noisy partying at 3am even as his companion he abandoned was gradually suffocating in a horrific torturous manner.

Think 'the lion of the senate' and osama are cordial to each other?

Enjoy your vacation. The national nightmare in all its glory will still be here when you get back. Try to forget about it a little while.

Barbc| 7.21.11 @ 12:51PM

I think it was the ten year anniversary of Chappaquiddick there was documentary. They interviewed the police who were at the ' accident' and the police said they were told not to pursue what happened. There never was a proper investigation. The police were not happy about the orders.

Jim| 7.25.11 @ 9:47AM

Skip, Your points are spot on. There is a common misperception, often reinforced by the MSM, that Mary Jo drowned that night. Not true. She suffocated while wicked Teddy ran like a coward to plot his political viability. Good for you to point this out!

sablegsd| 7.18.11 @ 6:32PM

And it's quite a word.

Oldefarte| 7.18.11 @ 10:54AM

These people always were and currently are just a bunch of Irish thugs. The old man sexually flaunted his mistress movie actress in front of his wife; his presidential kid and him shared another woman sexually; the president ran prostitutes in and out of the WH whenever his wife left same; the senator fornicated with a female dinner companion on the floor of a restaurant; the senator egged on his nephew to sexually rape a young woman at their Florida compound; and of course the sentator's famous drunken-driving across a Mass. island bridge cannot be forgotter. Additionally, the senator's nephew skied into a tree while intoxicated; one of the family raped a young babysitter; the senator drove his first wife to an alcholic addiction; both the president and the senator-brother had an ongoing seaual affair with a suidial actress; etc. Wow, gooly, shazam, WHAT CALSS.....and the looney liberal morons proclaim that this represents Camelot????????

Anthony| 7.18.11 @ 11:09AM

I say let that enviro wack job, Robert Kennedy Jr., turn the famous Kennedy compound into the Algore Center for Anthropogenic Global Warming.
Since Obozo lied about the rising sea levels and his ability to stem the rise, there will be no risk of the Kennedys and Algore being swept out to sea.
And if the sea levels do rise, well, the Kennedys are all great swimmers and are used to treading water, so no biggie.
As for big Al, he'll just float until he's eaten by a Polar Bear. Yum Yum!!!!

Tom| 7.18.11 @ 11:21AM

Ha, ha, ha, ha... phooey on the Kennedy's. Ted lived and died a scumbag. Imagine stealing your mothers's home to make it a temple to the destroyer of our Nation. Ted's name should be striken from history.

Barbc| 7.21.11 @ 12:55PM

Show you how much Teddy respected his mother.

wally| 7.18.11 @ 11:25AM

I remember an old National Lampoon bit. It had a heading 'Are the sins of he father visited on the sons?'. There was a pic of Joe, Sr. with the caption ' Fascist Asshole'. Below were pictures of Joe, Jr, John, Bob and Ted with the repspective captions, 'Dead', 'Dead', 'Dead', 'A Bum'.

Too funny. Too true.

JimH| 7.18.11 @ 12:58PM

I lived on Cape Cod from 1967 to the early 1990s and had been a visitor before that since the 1950s. John Kennedy created the National Seashore; without it, Cape Cod would look like Miami Beach. I'm grateful for that. However, stories abound on the Cape, at least among those without stars in their eyes, about America's "royalty," the most absurd title given that family by the ga-ga media. With a few exceptions, the Kennedys and their vastly extended tribe are elitist, boorish, cheap, unintelligent, and dangerous. They act like street thugs because that's where their roots are. Liberals worship them because they have no one else. I'm glad they're out of power...may it ever be thus.

SF_Exile| 7.18.11 @ 2:02PM

Not to mention that every liquor store (packie, in local parlance) within a 10 mile radius of the compound can now focus on making a profit and not chase after the lot of cheapskates and deadbeats for not paying their bills.

On a side note - any bets on how long the "Patches" marriage will last? At least he'll have a designated driver now!

PJK| 7.19.11 @ 11:36AM

"Packie" takes me back. Ethel was often cited as the worst of the Kennedy deadbeats. She felt merchants should be grateful for the privilege of "serving" the clan. Then we have the parking tickets in downtown Hyannis, bar disturbances, injuries from car incidents, and on, and on. Turning the compound into a rehab would make the most sense.

Barbc| 7.21.11 @ 12:59PM

The ski resorts when they in mass would go skiing at Vale, Sun Valley would not make reservations for them after the second year. They would not pay their bill until they wanted to make reservations for the next year. They would trash their rooms, party all hours. The lodges had to replace broken furniture, carpets, etc. They were not worth the expense.

Pat Hickey | 7.18.11 @ 12:24PM

Kids Kennedy - as hideous a shower of bastards as every rained on poor planet earth.

Nina| 7.18.11 @ 1:02PM

Nobody but idiot people in MA care about the Kennedy's! Time to put an end to it. And what a joke, turning their Hyannis house into a monestary? Seriously? With all that skirt chasing, lying, cheating, and stealing they ain't gettin into heaven by that move! Maybe ole' Rose thought that would help her family to the front of the line!

PJK| 7.19.11 @ 11:41AM

You're right. I'm an MA native. When I lived in TX, no one cared about them. That's why "Fat Boy" Ted never won the presidency he so thought he deserved. The rest of the nation knew he was a licentious creep and little else.

Pat| 7.22.11 @ 12:39PM

Let's not be crude about Mrs. Kennedy, she was a devout Catholic and raised her won children - even while her philandering husband was setting the wrong example for her children. She did the best she could and it is obvious that the boys at least followed in dad's footstep but some of her children were decent, compassionate people and gave much of their time and money to worthy causes. Unfortunately, their goodness did not spill over to the next generation. Rose tried to leave the property to a good cause - Ted was just selfish as always. Now they can fade into obscurity and the true story of the kennedy boys will finally be told.

Barbc| 7.24.11 @ 3:19PM

No Caroline certainly does not have the grace and good manners of her mother. I am no fan of Jackie, at least she put forth good manners. Caroline snubbed Mrs. L Bush when she went the NY to view a showing of Jackie's life. As first lady to another first lady, Laura was very admiring. Caroline was a snot.

Oldefarte| 7.18.11 @ 2:28PM

Being redundent with an old Kennedy joke: Mills [Arkansas Democrat], while drunkenly wading in a hotel water fountain with a prostitute, phones Teddy and asks WELL, I'VE GOT HER IN THE WATER, NOW WHAT DO I DO WITH HER????

Anthony| 7.18.11 @ 3:17PM

Noooo, not quite, it was ole Wilber Mills, Fanny Fox, ( a stripper, if you please) frolicing in the Tidal Basin. The old drunk got himself wrapped around Fannie's finger and she made a complete ass of him. I think the old fool attempted to finance some scheme of hers as well.
Ah, the good ole days when our reprobate pols did it out in the open. Who was that congressman who has sex with his hot wife on the Congressional steps?
I was still a college student flying back to school when Wilber and I found ourselves standing across from each other at the same gate. He had already resigned, so a little time had past. I recognized him, nobody else did, saw his initials on his large black brief case, and proceeded to stand there and grin at him.
He was not amused, and somewhat disconcertedly, moved to another gate until our flight was called.
Had it been Ted Kennedy, I'd like to believe I would have had the balls to spit on him.

The fact that anybody held these grasping, petty, despicable people in anything other than contempt is beyond my comprehension.

Pat| 7.22.11 @ 12:31PM

that's because all most people ever got to see was the whitewash the media presented of the 'perfect' family - if they lived anywhere near these hooligans, they would have seen the absolute worst kind of behavior - not a good example for anyone. They have always believed they were above the law and got away with far too much. now that some of their real faces are being expose, people will see them for what they are and stop idolizing the fantasy.

I assume the American Spectator is a place for Tea Partiers. Why in the fuck would anyone think any TPer is interested in the squabbles of the Kennedy family? Let's drop the Kennedys and have another hit piece on Sarah Palin.

Internecine battles are nothing new to the Kennedys
skf bearings fag bearings

Andrew B| 7.19.11 @ 5:03AM

The Kennedys are just the real-life Sopranos with slightly better fashion sense.

squirrel| 7.19.11 @ 5:36AM

Hey, look over there, it's Sarah Palin!

DANSHANTEAL| 7.19.11 @ 1:33PM

LUV IT; RIDICULE IS THE BEST MEDICINE.
WHAT ABOUT THE FUNDS KERRY CADGED FOR THE TEMPLE OF DOOM?

Denita| 7.20.11 @ 6:20PM

Rose was possible the only devout Catholic of the whole clan ( with possibly the exception of Eunice ).
Joe Kennedy Sr. forced his daughter Rosemary to get a lobotomy just because she was "slow". He wanted "perfect" offspring. I pity them, really. Mama rose must be spinning in her tomb.

Steve Newark| 7.21.11 @ 7:57AM

Perhps you lacked space, but the Kennedy working over given another thug "Tip O'Neil" was another disgrace.

Steve Newark| 7.21.11 @ 7:59AM

Would'nt it be more fitting to give the "compound" to dear Joan (the real Mrs. Kennedy) next door

Yeeeech| 7.22.11 @ 10:19AM

I am sure the "other" neighbors will be happy to see the Cape Cod place institutionalized....the Kennedy's were/are a rag-tag, messy, loud, impolite group and it is amazing they are still members of HYC (Hyannis Yacht Club) based on their very rude behavior and manners.

Pat| 7.22.11 @ 12:25PM

First of all, it would have been wonderful if Rose had been allowed to leave the property to the monks, at least something decent and moral would finally take place on that property. Second, I wonder if the kennedy's even consider themselves Democrats - I think they believe they are their own political party. Ted, in his arrogance chose to make the property into his ideal, not his mother's wishes. We know she did not get to take him task for that error since they ended up in two different places. Let them fight each other, at least they will leave the rest of us alone.

Flit Andersen| 7.27.11 @ 9:45PM

No mention as to the big question: "Y"?

Answr? $60,000 in property taxes the Kennedy's are in no mood to pay. The good people of Barnstable have been kind enough to host this misbegotten clan of liars, cheats, philanderers, thieves and bigots for several lifetimes and their reward? "SCREW YOU!"
Another question - How do you get to call yourself "Joseph P. Kennedy III" when your pappy is named "Robert"?

They weren't freezing semen in 1943, were they?

Flit Andersen| 7.27.11 @ 9:46PM

...did I leave out "rapists" & "murderers"?

My apologies...

butter | 8.6.11 @ 10:14AM

Lol wtf! If anything, RFK is the most overrated of them all. They want him to have his own library? Lol yeah, see how many people visit. They should all disappear. The ONLY relevant Kennedy anyway is John Fitzgerald Kennedy.

Pariah Carey| 8.11.11 @ 2:36AM

Their downfall could not happen to a nicer bunch. That it came at their own hands is truly the cherry on the sundae. To Flit: Actually,Joe does get to call himself III. A second person given the same name is a Jr. if he is named for his father and a II if he is named after his grandfather or uncle. III is applied to either of these situations.

Julie Mckinley| 10.3.11 @ 11:58AM

On my first tourist trip to New England, I was crossing the street in New Bedford, when a man in a truck rolled down his window and called out "That's where your president was married!" referring to the church where JFK and Jackie were wed. I was talking to my husband back in Texas at the time and he commented, "Ask him for directions to the asylum where Old Joe got his daughter a lobotemy."
Frankly, the whole trip was profoundly disturbing, as I had never been among serfs or those who enjoyed who enjoyed their lowly status so much. The trip was a cruise to the N.E. islands, and everywhere I went, there were working people bragging about the largesse of the overlords who "gave" them such good schools and tax breaks so they could live on Nantucket and Block Island. Of course, the peons couldd't afford to actually own houses or the land, but--in order to keep their housekeepers and firefighters in place--the overlords provided enticements including "free sailing lessons" for evey child (on boats that they would never be able to own) as long as they were in thrall and in situ.
God Bless Texas!

over here | 12.17.11 @ 8:42AM

Lol boo hoo! What's their problem? He wasn't even president. If anything, RFK is the most overrated of them all. Let them get their building and see how many people visit...
