Talk about an inconvenient truth.
After all the furor over alleged racist signs or words at
Tea Party rallies, the media is ignoring the shocking fact that 12
of the 25 groups endorsing Delaware Democrat Chris Coons for the
United States Senate over Republican Christine O’Donnell have
turned up on the quite official list of the “One Nation
Working Together” rally — as formal co-sponsors with
supporters of the terrorist groups Hezbollah and Hamas. And, no
kidding, the Communist Party.
Did I mention the Coons 12 are also holding hands with the
International Socialist Organization? Plus the Democratic
Socialists of America?
You read that right.
And Chris Coons is not the only Democrat receiving this
same election support either.
Which groups is Coons accepting endorsements from, knowing
full well the same groups have deliberately and quite publicly tied
themselves to supporters of terrorism, Communism and
socialism?
That would be these groups:
The UAW
SEIU
Communications Workers of America
AFL-CIO
Planned Parenthood
People for the American Way
International Association of Machinists and Aerospace
Workers
Stonewall Democrats
United Food and Commercial Workers International
Union
National Education Association
Human Rights Campaign
AFSCME
All to be found hidden in plain sight on both the official
listing of sponsors provided by the One Nation Working
Together rally organizers listed here
and then over here
as part of the 25 groups endorsing Chris Coons supplied by
the official Coons for Senate website. Twelve of Coons endorsers —
that would be one shy of half — signed onto the recent rally that
listed the Communist Party USA as a co-sponsor. And ANSWER, the
radical supporters of Hezbollah and Hamas. And the International
Socialists. And the Democratic Socialists.
All of this — and not a peep, not one peep — from the
media. CNN’s Howard Kurtz still maintains that Coons’ “Bearded
Marxist” self-description was some sort of college prank that Sean
Hannity somehow got wrong? Hello? Earth to Howard.
Let’s take a look at these groups the Coons campaign
supporters have linked themselves to and which the media simply
isn’t reporting. Let’s see what they believe and what others have
said about them.
• ANSWER (Act Now to Stop War and End
Racism):
Here’s what the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) has
to say about the charming folks at ANSWER who have been holding
hands with The Coons 12. ANSWER has
“repeatedly expressed support for terrorist groups determined
to dismantle the state of Israel, including Hamas and
Hezbollah.“
Got that? Hamas and Hezbollah. Groups sworn to the
destruction of Israel. Terrorists responsible for who knows how
many repeated and extraordinarily violent and murderous attacks
killing Israeli men, women and children.
If there’s any doubt about this, perhaps the place to
check is the US State Department. The official Hillary Clinton-run
State Department description of these two groups is found
here
in the section labeled “Background Information on
Foreign Terrorist Organizations Office of the Coordinator for
Counterterrorism.” The State Department confirms the ADL
description of both Hamas and Hezbollah as terrorist groups, saying
this in the official bureaucratese of the U.S.
government:
HAMAS (Islamic Resistance Movement) a.k.a. Harakat
al-Muqawama al-Islamiya, Students of Ayyash, Students of the
Engineer, Yahya Ayyash Units, Izz Al-Din Al-Qassim Brigades, Izz
Al-Din Al-Qassim Forces, Izz Al-Din Al-Qassim Battalions, Izz
al-Din Al Qassam Brigades, Izz al-Din Al Qassam Forces, Izz al-Din
Al Qassam Battalions

Anyone having done their homework since the "won" showed up and began dismantling these United States is not surprised MR. Lord. The real question is, what took so long for those of you in the inform business to explain it to the unwashed masses?
These creature of the demonic dimensions, all the ism's of today, are not news, it's just that they are now in the open for anyone with the eyes to see to examine. Let it be known we are a rebellious type of peoples, plenty of examples of the meaning here, and no one with any sense of history, ideologies, and human nature can be in the least surprised that these creature are trying their best to make it once again fashionable but, the question remains who is falling for it? The weak rally this past weekend, along with the mess, shows us and just reinforces to many, they are indeed true to their form, always leaving mess's behind is in fact all they have done in the societies where they have planted their destructive seeds. "Yeah shall known them by their works" The moron who is running under the banners of these "isms" thugs are more or less cowards in their own beliefs, made public their true intentions, could not garner attention otherwise under different circumstances. But what does one expect with the state run media's running cover for their subversiveness and enemy status, honesty? get real.
My guess would be Coons is just showing his credentials to all who are interested. But, hey what do you expect, like I said with the state media running interference, what could possibly go wrong in the event he picks this seat up, does death to America ring a bell to anyone? Truer intentions of these types have never in my lifetime of 57 years been so obvious, but only to those who are paying attention.

OMG Jeff Lord has upped the anti once again adding the invective "TERRORIST" to the litany of damning adjectives he hopes to hoist around the neck of the god-awful - Is it true Chris Coons us a satanist? - that's the rumor: Chris Coons. LMAO Next week, will he add rapist or axe-murder?
Fredrick Ward| 10.6.10 @ 3:06PM
Chris,
Have you ever heard of the saying, "Birds of a feather flock together." Well, that is essentially what Jeff is showing. He is showing that Coons, and others, who are gladly endorsed by such groups are seeking to destroy this nation. The Communist and Marxist groups out there could not be more plain in their disdain for our freedoms.
Yet, you sit back and mock the publishing of such findings as if they matter not but a hill of beans. I hope you live to see the nation that people with such apathy as you are fostering for your children to suffer through. People like me will laugh at you when you come crying for salvation from the destruction you have brought down on your own heads. Such fools to ignore the signs of freedom lost only because it happens to be your political party caught up in the mix, and being used as the vehicle of destruction to this nation.
Judy| 10.7.10 @ 1:35AM
Fredrick; I hope to God this character doesn't get to see the results of his stupid mistakes. If he does, the rest of us will see it too. The best thing to do is to keep fighting for our country and Constitution. The terrorists can't have my America or my American flag.
Another Judy for Freedom| 10.7.10 @ 4:18PM
Sometimes Judy I fear it may be too late. When the AFL-CIO can openly support US Senators, while simultaneously sponsoring some dinky group that has a facebook page that is openly friended by groups that have ties to groups that support communist and terrorist groups, then anyone who has watched even just one entire episode of Glenn Beck will know how to connect the dots and see that our entire system of government has been infiltrated from the inside.
But let us keep up the good fight so that freedom of speech and freedom of religion won't be twisted into a nightmare of allowing people to say and believe things that you and I disagree with.

Coons is toast if we can just get this information out. Groups that have endorsed Coons have also endorsed a group that is itself endorsed by other groups that endorse groups that endorse terrorism and communism! The problem is that liberals don't have a sufficient grasp of logic to understand what this implies about Coons.
Melvin| 10.5.10 @ 7:48AM
I guess history unfortunately for us repeats itself, even when the writing is on the wall for a long time now.
Communism, Socialism, Progressivism, Fascism, or whatever flavor of the day is never, ever, sleeps. It's like the cockroach who has survived through the centuries by living in the shadows and feeding of the refuse of society.
The West was lured into a false victory when Communism as our fathers knew it and some of us who were taught in school to know where the bomb shelter was by the nuclear symbol and the words Fallout.
We have had warning sign after warning sign practically slapping us upside the head that the tyrannical four are alive and well and thriving quite nicely as those who are in the heads of Western governments live with the belief that, "Communism died when the Berlin Wall fell."
On the contrary, Communism, is not only alive and well, it is openly running for public office.
No longer do Communists run and hide when the light of freedom gets turned on, but now stand defiantly to challenge our form of representative government.
Because people.... once the United States is removed as the last roadblock to Communism, then we are the ones who will have lost the Cold War.
I'm sorry, I've spent a large part of my adult life from keeping Communism at bay, and I'' be damned if I will allow this Country to submit to it's tyranny. Too many good freedom loving people all over the world have died fighting it. Because you don't reason with the philosophy of Communism, you kill it, so that it never has the ability to raise it's tyrannical head again.
R Martin| 10.5.10 @ 8:04AM
Why in the world does an organized group with blatantly one-sided political views and an agenda of agitprop get the constitutional protection of free speech just because it calls itself "the press?"
ton| 10.5.10 @ 8:19AM
Ah yes; sodomy, abortion, and union thugs -- makes one want to be a Democrat.
Mattled| 10.5.10 @ 8:21AM
Good grief. The media. The media. The media.
Without them these Democrats wouldn't exist in their present form. They are portrayed as "mainstream" by the media.
Let's go after the media. Call ABC, CBS AND NBC out for what they are: Socialists. Biased. Liberal.
Call it OUR October surprise. They plot, organize and malign every election cycle.
Instead of just airing campaign ads against candidates, why can't the RNC do campaign ads against the media? They donate Billions of dollars in air time to Communists like Coon. Just a few thousand airing ads against the lying SOS media will have a huge impact. Can AmSpec start a fund?
I'm in!
Aaron| 10.5.10 @ 10:35AM
Dear Mattled,
Great post! It's obvious that you are a patriot and love your country. If conservatives don't get more aggresive and vocal, then we're going to lose this country. If the Democrat devils ever take away our guns it will be all over. Thank God for the NRA. But we need more than the NRA. We need the Republicans to re-discover testicular fortitude. You should read Bernard Goldberg's book, "Crazies to the Left of Me, Wimps to the Right". The subtitle is, "How one side lost it's mind and the other lost it's nerve". Hopefully, and we're starting to see this happen, the Tea Party can remove from office both Democrats and the Republicans who happen to be moderates (gutless pussies),
joli| 10.5.10 @ 1:16PM
Mattled, you suggested this on AT several months ago, and I still think its a fabulous idea. It would bypass the Fairness Doctrine, since it wouldn't involve direct support of candidates--but it would challenge people to consider more carefully what they are hearing from the talking heads. The republicans gave Palin a spot on there just so other Reps can get on and make her look stupid. Money hungry people, get a clue.
Sam Vaughn| 10.5.10 @ 9:48AM
T, that was easy. People who disagree with you are just plain dumb, not capable of self-examination. As I've said elsewhere, you need to take your head out of the sand.
This is another one of those reminders that come with increasing frequency. When historians write that revolutions are made by the people that is completely accurate - Something happens in people's hearts and then in their stomachs, down there where they have had too much or have heard of their ancestors having had too much. Then up they rise. It seems to me unstopppable, because people don't give up,,, that's what happened in the Revolutionary War and that's what brought on the Civil War and a few other internal skirmishes. Everytime this has happened in our history they were ordinary people, men and women, who wanted the right to own and run their own country. It's as simple as that, but to do so we have to overcome our fear.
It is hard to imagine that totalitarianism is really knocking on the door of America, but the Tea Party is and ordinary Americans are all the evidence I need.
If you are as smart as you think you are you should look up the "Penal Laws" in history and see how easy it is for the ruling class with no checks or balances to dispossess ordinary people and then call them criminals when they have the temerity to disagree.
I used to joke with my liberal friends that they would if they had the power just line their opponents against a wall and be done with them, no more debating. To see it in film tell's me they would. Vote like your life depends on it, it just may.

It was Democrats who said they expected that Obama's election would immediately double their pay and that they would never again have to worry about paying their mortgage.

"The real and troubling meaning behind the Coons 12 and their ties with these seriously extremist groups is that the Obama-era has made these beliefs somehow "respectable" -- mainstream. Just no big deal. "
Mr. Lord, that is exactly the problem. How is it that before the election, when Joe the Plumber told Obama, "that sounds like socialism to me," he was excoriated by the press, even had them digging into his background, ran him over the coals -- a private citizen making a comment! All because he outed them for what they are. Then, once the election was over, we get Newsweek's cover: "We are all Socialists now". Obama made them respectable. Even a friend of mine, someone I always knew was liberal, has called herself a socialist. Wow! That's something she would have never called herself before Obama's election. We need to come out loud and strong and nail these folks to the wall with the light of truth of how this all ends. Greece? Russia? Cambodia? Venezuela? Cuba? North Korea? East Germany? -- which end would you pick, lefties? Explain yourselves.

While I'll put my conservative credentials up against anyone, ANYONE; this piece is a bloody McCarthy rag. I have no doubts that there are hard left groups involved in the lefties rally last Saturday. And I despise that blowhard Ed Schultze. But, Mr. Lord is providing a classic "guilt by association" smear. Linking the AFL-CIO with "Workers Parties" and other Red outfits is bullcrap. The AFL-CIO under George Meany was fighting Communism before Mr. Lord was suckling on his mothers teats. Shame on you Jeff! And the sad part is that you were pointing out Coons leftist past in a fair way.

"The AFL-CIO under George Meany was fighting Communism before Mr. Lord was suckling on his mothers teats."
As were the Nazis.
If, as you say, Mr. Lord uses guilt by association, then you attempt to use innocence by association.
Jeffrey Lord| 10.5.10 @ 9:18AM
Howard....
Guilt by association? No serious political person in their right mind signs onto a rally openly sponsored by the Communist Party and open allies of terrorist groups. George Meany is long, long gone from the spirit of the AFL-CIO. This is decidedly not Solidarity.
RCV| 10.5.10 @ 7:31PM
CPUSA is, and long has been, a joke. They sign on to all liberal and leftist rallies that they can to try and get people to think they have more real members than undercover FBI agents. Organized labor in the US, with a few exceptions (Harry Bridges, and the Wobblies) has long been anti-communist. Efforts to pretend otherwise are pretty silly.
CountryClassKook| 10.5.10 @ 9:22AM
My father was a member of the AFL-CIO for a very short time in the 70's. He was inundated with communist and socialist propaganda. He quit that job and we moved to a non-closed-shop state. AFL-CIO IS an organization hell bent on the destruction of capitalism and liberty. You are as much a conservative as the piece of garbage in the White House is a Christian. You and the useful idiots like you are in for a major shock, soon.
Howard| 10.5.10 @ 3:14PM
I'm not saying the AFL-CIO is the same organization perhaps as in the past. But, to link it with hard Red groups is a stretch. I don't mind being insulted by you, because your not a serious thinker. Also, please remember to actually go out and vote.
NotHoward| 10.5.10 @ 11:58PM
Howard, this was not guilt by association. Follow the argument if you can. The AFL-CIO endorsed Coons. They AFL-CIO also endorsed the ONWT. (If you haven't heard of the ONWT, don't worry, few have. They're barely above five digits in facebook friends.) Okay, now pay attention. The AFL-CIO endorsed the ONWT *and so did other groups*. Some of those other groups also endorsed groups *that endorsed Hamas or the Communist Party USA*. The article has plenty of dots ... you just refuse to connect them.
Howard| 10.6.10 @ 8:55PM
I appreciate your name. It is better to be acknowledged than to be ignored. So, I guess if I go to AFL-CIO headquarters in D.C.., I should expect to see editions of Pravda and Izvestia in the waiting room? Should I also expect to see a bust of Stalin? Or perhaps of Lenin.? I'm not trying to compare that creep Trumka with George Meany or other famous leaders from the past. I'm not a union lover either. I would have no problem if they all disappeared. But your connections kind of remind me of a Grassy Knoll analogy. This sounds like a reverse Oliver Stone projection. I just like honest crisp reporting, not a political douche bag.
NotHoward| 10.7.10 @ 4:07PM
You probably won't see this but I'll take one more pointless try at explaining.
You won't find a bust of Stalin in the AFL-CIO HQ, and the article didn't even suggest this. But go to the ONWT offices, if they have any. And then find the offices of the other groups that suppport ONWT. Then find the offices of the groups that support those groups that support ONWT. Some of those groups support Communists. And somewhere one of them probably has a bust of Stalin.
Can you live with that? Groups supporting Coons sponsor an obscure group that is also sponsored by groups that sponsor groups that would probably have a bust of Stalin in their offices if they could afford one?
Howard| 10.10.10 @ 11:08AM
I know even paranoid people have enemies. So, perhaps your right. If you draw enough lines you can make the connection. And besides, even if your right; just letting those idiots get up and speak only preaches to their choir. I wonder how many honest. patriotic unions members would bolt after listening to the freak show that was on display.

Let's hear them. Go ahead. Put your money where your mouth is.
Calling a Marxist a Marxist is NOT "McCarthyite".
In fact, the GREAT Joe McCarthy wasn't even "McCarthyite". 99% of everything the left has ever said about Joe McCarthy is a flat-out lie.
So let's test those "creds", Howie:
What exactly did Joe McCarthy do that you disapprove of?
The AFL-CIO, the SEIU, the TEAMSTERS, etc are hard-left organizations with affiliations and relationships with Marxist groups in this country and around the globe. That's NOT red-baiting, Howie...That's a FACT.
George Meany has been gone a long time, and since his departure, the Labor Movement has become a socialist/marxist movement.
Again, that's a fact.
But I'm still puzzled by your "creds"...And I still want to know what you have against Joe McCarthy.
Howard| 10.5.10 @ 3:23PM
My name is Howard. I want to see your Doctor credentials. I think McCarthy was a drunken bum who hurt the conservative movement. By raising hysteria about people who were marginally or not at all linked with subversives, he allowed the real bad guys to cause even more damage than they deserved. My "creds" are 100% voting for conservative candidates, financially supporting conservative organizations, being a DOD member, and not being afraid of punks like you.
Doctor Right| 10.5.10 @ 4:24PM
You're NO Conservative, Howie. You're a Lib trolling on a Conservative board, little boy.
Your characterization of McCarthy as a "drunken bum" is a left-liberal cliche' that's been around for 50+ years.
Joe McCarthy didn't "hurt" the Conservative cause, he elevated it. He was the lone voice in the wilderness crying out that the Federal Gov't, at all levels, had been infiltrated by Communist spies and sympathizers...And he was 1000% right!
The Venona papers released from the Soviet archives after the Cold War revealed once and for all that McCarthy was right. Alger Hiss WAS a spy, as was his brother, and FDR advisor Harry Hopkins, Owen Lattimore, and Lawrence Duggan.
To say that McCarthy "raisied hysteria about people who were marginally or not at all linked with subversives" demonstrates a level of ignorance about McCarthy that is simply stunning.
So here's how it stands...Howie. You're either:
1) a Liberal troll,
2) a confused RINO, or
3) completely clueless.
Regardless, you ain't no Conservative.
Doctor Right| 10.5.10 @ 4:24PM

As republican Senator Ralph Flanders of Vermont correctly said of McCarthy, "Were the Junior Senator from Wisconsin in the pay of the Communists he could not have done a better job for them." Because of his drunken antics and reckless smearing with a wide brush, he actually protected the real communists who had infiltrated our government and country.
Tim*| 10.5.10 @ 8:30PM
John Kennedy called McCarthy a "great American patriot"; kid brother Bobby Kennedy joined McCarthy's staff as assistant counsel and Tail Gunner Joe became godfather to his first child.
RCV| 10.5.10 @ 11:23PM
So now you're a fan of the Kennedy family, Tim?
Howard| 10.5.10 @ 8:29PM
Of course Hiss was a Commie you idiot. It's just that McCarthy also named half of the country as Communists as well. A jackass (seem familiar) like McCarthy gave room for the establishment to make Hiss look legitimate because McCarthy cried wolf too many times. He lost credibility just like Jeff Lord is including some legitimate organizations (AFL-CIO) with a bunch of true Red outfits, hence losing credibility. You never told me where you got your "Doctorate"? Let me guess, a matchbook cover?
Doctor Right| 10.6.10 @ 8:31AM
"It's just that McCarthy also named half of the country as Communists as well."
- Howie the fake Conservative.
No, Howie. McCarthy did NOT do that.
You know NOTHING about McCarty except what you've read in liberal newspapers. You know less about Alger Hiss.
Name ONE (1) person whose life was ruined by Joe McCarthy.
Go ahead, you lying little fraud. Do it.
Dumbass...
Howard| 10.6.10 @ 9:53AM
Nobody was ruined because McCarthy ultimately did not "name names". It was much easier to insinuate someone than actually state a case. We was a blowhard (sound familiar). He, like you is a fraud. Doctor Doolittle.
coal carrier| 10.5.10 @ 1:49PM
Andy Stern SEIU- “We know their names, we know how they voted, we know where they live.”

Jack| 10.5.10 @ 6:50PM
"'Workers of the World Unite' is not just a slogan anymore." Andy Stern. Industrial Workers of the World (wobblies) were the communist organization dooing labor unions in the twenties and thirties. Mr. Stern is continuing that effort.

THANK YOU HOWARD FOR SOME TRUTH:
But, Mr. Lord is providing a classic "guilt by association" smear. Linking the AFL-CIO with "Workers Parties" and other Red outfits is bullcrap. The AFL-CIO under George Meany was fighting Communism before Mr. Lord was suckling on his mothers teats. Shame on you Jeff

HAS ANYONE GIVEN THIS INFO TO CHRISTINE O'DONNELL? Or are the Republicans to stupid and cowardly to use it? Like the dumb McCain who left mountains of damaging info on Obama to be discovered after the monster was elected? Will anyone use the images of the menace depicted at the rally this past Saturday, or will they be too afraid they will be called names? My God! The political ads that could be developed using their own words and images. What a bunch of dolts and weaklings our "leaders" on the right have turned out to be. No wonder they are going to get a beat down. Over and over again.
Tex Expatriate| 10.5.10 @ 11:42AM
And the answer is, Yes, the Republicans are too stupid and cowardly to use this information. Always have been, and likely always will be---even if conservatives wrest control of the party.
There are conservatives who vote Republican, and then there are Republicans who, starting out as Whigs, loved a strong central government, imposed it during and after the War of Northern Aggression, and continued to impose it up to the presidency of Reagan. Then were back at it again under George W. Bush.
There aren't any Republicans and there are very few conservatives who are willing to call a spade a spade.
crooked wren| 10.5.10 @ 10:40AM
The National Education Association wants everyone -- teachers and students alike -- to read Saul Alinsky's "Rules for Radicals." Doesn't sound conservative to me. Trumka is starting to call for a restructuring of business to benefit the populace. Hmmm. Could this have any connection with Marx?
Those of you who don't know these radicals and how deeply they've infiltrated our society since Joseph McCarthy's time, think again. Do some research. Shouldn't take you a long time.
And if you think Joe McCarthy was slime, you might want to revisit that one, too. Try the Venona Project of the 1990s. Did you know that Robert Kennedy (yes, that's Bobby Kennedy) asked Joseph McCarthy to be (religious) godfather to Kennedy's firstborn? Nut job? I don't think so. A respected man who was just hoping to rid the U.S. government of Communist infiltrators -- Yes. The media has done quite a job of revisionist history with McCarthy. It started with the KGB-influenced journalist writing about him in his own time. And everyone who researches the guy gets the same blemished materials with which to search.
Read "Witness" by Whittaker Chambers.
Get an education about Communism. We're all going to need it.
Seriously. If you think I'm just a nutcase, consider this. I met radicals just like these back in Hawaii in the summer of 1971. They finally admitted to me they were Maoist Communists. I argued with them. I left Hawaii and assumed they were merely getting on with their lives.
I got on with mine.
Then I started doing research just before Obama was elected. I found the many links between ACORN and other groups. I discovered a post online that was video from an SDS reunion at Loyola University. There the radicals were -- not the exact same people, but others just like them. Laughing about watching Chicago burn. Reminiscing about growing up as red diaper babies with a portrait of "Uncle Joe" (that would be Stalin -- FYI) over the fireplace.
I realized at that moment -- although it has taken months to confirm that realization -- that those radicals (or others just like them) had not really just "gotten on with their lives." No. They've been organizing and organizing. They've been rewriting our children's history books. They've gone into teaching, mostly at the University level. They've gotten into government -- state secretaries of state where the votes are counted (a popular position for the far left) just one of many govt. jobs they now hold.
Where necessary, they've changed their names from Communists to Socialists. Everybody likes Europe, right? They're Socialists. Not so bad, right? They've become "Progressives." Also not so tainted a word.
But the proof is in the pudding. These people DO want to "fundamentally transform" this great country. And they don't particularly want our Constitutional Republic to stand -- even while they take full advantage of our freedom to speak, to publish, to gather.
We need to take the country back. Far from loathing Joseph McCarthy (and I used to mention the HUAC days when I was teaching Arthur Miller's play "The Crucible"), I'm hoping we get enough brave folks strong enough to reveal the Marxists/Maoists in our midst.
They won't tell you who they are up front. Although they are starting to. And when it gets to the point where the card-carriers and the Fellow Travelers speak OPENLY about their Marxist/Maoist views, LOOK OUT.
Beware, folks. Don't just dismiss them. Investigate. Where is Coons' repudiation of Marx? Where is his pivot point AWAY from Marx? Where does he embrace the free market?
It's key.

Unfortunately, we will be stuck with Coons as well. I also think the dems would not have nominated Coons if they had any idea that Castle would lose to O'Donnell. RCV| 10.5.10 @ 2:16PM
Do you see what Lord has done in his article? He takes 12 mainstream liberal organizations that endorsed Coons (unions, the NEA, People for the American Way, Planned Parenthood). Then he takes a rally in DC that these organizations sponsored, looks to other organizations that also sponsored the rally, and then looks to groups that have some connection to this third link. That's nonsense!
NavyBrat | 10.5.10 @ 3:29PM
I see what he's done, & I don't think that any of it's a stretch. Unions have been RUN (not talking bout rank & file) by Marxists for ages now. Just look at the SEIU & the UAW. Look at some of Trumka's statements. All the pieces fit for those who are willing to see the picture they form. Its just that simple.
Warrior | 10.5.10 @ 4:40PM
Nice deflection away from the question. Please name the white racist groups that favored McCain. Can you guess which candidate the following supported; NAACP, ACORN, New Black Panthers, Black Liberation Theologists, BET, Ebony and Jet magazines, Miss Black America, the rainbow coalition, the black caucus, National Association of Black Journalists, National Association of Negro Business & Proffesional Women's Club, National Black Child Developement Institute, National Coalition-Blacks for Reparations in America, National Association of Black Engineers, Airport Minority Advisory Council...there are more...
RCV| 10.5.10 @ 4:55PM
David Duke and his affilliated Klan groups worked hard to defeat Obama and urged their members to support McCain.
The groups you list are Black groups, not racist groups. It is hardly surprising that most blacks and black organizations supported Obama -- blacks traditionally vote overwhelmingly Democratic, and Obama's nomination was obviously a source of great pride for the black community. In 1960, when John Kennedy was nominated for President, I remember the feeling of pride I had as a Catholic. Why? Because anti-Catholics had been preaching for years about how we could never have a Catholic as President because we all secretly owed political allegiance to the Pope. Those kinds of feelings are natural and positive.

And you didn't like the rally in favor of defending the constitutional republic, with people who left the grounds cleaner than when they arrived, and no one assaulted any reporters.
Glad we've got that clear.

If I were voting simply on litter pick-up, I'd go with Beck. But I was more interested in the main political agendas of the two groups (not the stray signs of the left or right loonies who attended). The only chatter I hear about destroying our consitutional republic comes from the secessionists on this site, along with those who bemoan the fact that we have an independent federal judiciary to enforce our constitutional rights, and who would deny those rights to gays, Muslims and anyone else they disagree with.
Glad we could clear that up.

I had absolutely zero interest in politics at the time & it was a rude awakening that peolpe like this even existed in my naive view of the USA.
RCV| 10.5.10 @ 1:21PM
I despise communists, and find academic Marxists brain-dead. But maybe because of my mother, who was a widow with 3 kids and who worked hard in factories and was an ardent UAW member, I don't have the same antipathy to unions as many on this site. Are there abuses with unions? You bet. But for many working men and women -- and that certainly included my mom -- unions are the reason they had decent health care, livable wages, and semi-safe working conditions. Do I have antipathy toward corporations? None, whatsoever. They produce jobs in our dynamic economy. But they are self-interested organizations -- that's why free enterprise works. And workers need organization and representation to protect their interests as well. It is because she had that, my mom was able to put three sons through college and onto lucrative professsional careers.
I worked full-time in the 2008 Obama campaign and met many good, decent SEIU members in Nevada and other states. They were everyday people, just like you and me, working hard to support families just like my mother did. They have my utmost respect.
Stephanie| 10.5.10 @ 2:48PM

Quite a number of responses so far get into the issue of what is broadly referred to as "negative campaigning"--which, as I understand it, is to run not only on what you stand for, but also expressly against what your opponent stands for.
Since much of the Republican establishment (read Mike Castle) doesn't really stand consistently for anything, the RINO types are disinclined to "negative campaigning" except when their opponents are conservative Republicans in primaries. By contrast, the Left Democrats stand fanatically for statism, and, because their arguments are either non-existent or flimsy, revel in negative campaigning.
In this regard, I believe, the Lefties enjoy a huge advantage--not just because they are without scruples, but also because they are, in this one respect, closer to the Americano heart. They know that a huge portion of the Americano electorate (i.e., the generally apolitical portion) is inclined to vote AGAINST rather than FOR.
When I first encountered this notion of how Americans tend to vote (I read about it years ago, and cannot recall the exact source, although I think it was the late Austin Ranney), I tested the notion with my own voting habits, of course, and discovered precisely that pattern in the presidential elections. Here's how I've voted since I started voting (asterisks indicate the ones I "lost"):
1. 1964: against Johnson*
2. 1968: against Humphrey
3. 1972: against McGovern
4. 1976: against Carter*
5. 1980: in favor of Reagan
6. 1984: hella in favor of Reagan
7. 1988: against Dukakis
8. 1992: against Clinton*
9. 1996: hella against Clinton*
10. 2000: ferociously against Gore
11. 2004: contemptuously against Kerry
12. 2008: astonishedly against the Professor*
That's 12 presidential elections, and I don't know whether losing 5 is a good score or bad. But I'm certain that my own pattern of voting AGAINST (10 times out of 12) supports the notion outlined above.
When I hear or read prim denunciations of "negative campaigning," I can only laugh--and not just because the denunciations come mostly from the vicious Left as a part of their own fiercely negative campaigning.
DRed| 10.5.10 @ 1:21PM
hella?
John II| 10.5.10 @ 1:34PM
Oh. Um, well, my students (and two of my younger kids) started using that term approximately in the mid-nineties. Apparently, it began as a back-formation for "hell-of-a" as in "hella lot of" which in turn morphed into a premodifier meaning, broadly, "a great deal (of)": e.g., "He spent hella money on that trip."
I presume your laconic inquiry means the expression is no longer used for the purpose of what the sociolinguists call "group identification."
In other words, DReddie, the kids have dropped it, and the old bastards are still stumbling around with it pathetically. I stand chagrined.
RCV| 10.5.10 @ 1:33PM
John - I'm so sorry you've had to vote against rather than for candidates so often. I've had to do that ocassionally -- 1968 (against Nixon rather than for Humphrey); 2004 (against Bush rather than for Kerry) -- myself. It is more satisfying to vote FOR someone or something, especially when they are victorious on election day.
John II| 10.5.10 @ 1:50PM
Oh, I don't mind, Roberto--the pattern fits rather snugly with my Catholic sense of Original Sin. I reckon I've never placed much faith in the ways of this Paradise Lost, particularly the characteristically heathen drive of the Left to establish the Terrestrial Paradise irrespective of the eggs that get broken. And I find it reassuring to think that I am not remotely alone in that disposition.
You voted FOR Carter in 1980? Are you sure you didn't just vote AGAINST Our Ron? Bust my buttons.
By the way, the mother you describe was obviously a true conservative, which may explain why you hang around this site so much.
And now back to "Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow" (2004), which I can only take in small bouts. I will have seen dozens of greater flicks in the time it takes me to get through that one. But I never care to leave any project undone.
RCV| 10.5.10 @ 2:25PM
No, I actually liked Reagan - it was hard not to. I did not vote for Jimmy Carter (he was SO inept) although I couldn't bring myself to vote for Reagan on policy issues in 1980. I came to have enormous respect for him, however, and the more I read about the private Reagan the greater that respect increases.
My mother was a liberal democratic politically - she was a child of the Roosevelt era. But her life was pure American Catholic. She never missed one of Bishop Sheen's magnificant shows. God rest her soul.
John II| 10.5.10 @ 4:15PM
My parents were both secular atheists--and THEY never missed Bishop Sheen.
Myself, I preferred "Kukla, Fran, and Ollie" and "The Lone Ranger." I got religion later.
Steve A| 10.5.10 @ 1:40PM
RCV, I can understand that completely. No beef whatsoever with union members. It's when their leadership FORCES them to attend a rally, which they may or may not endorse, that I begin to scratch my head. My own view is that the unions were a net plus for the worker & society, particularly at their infancy here in the USA when labor was an entirely different animal. Present day, it appears to many, that their self interest supercedes that of the general population. It is as if the teachers union, UAW etc. feel that they are entitled to a job, benefits, pension & on & on regardless of the performance of their sector (GM anyone??)
You are a conservative, with a big heart, who grew up in an environment that shaped your outlook to slant liberal. Without the union, there is no doubt your story would be different, likely in a negative way. Their is certainly a debt of gratitude there. The big picture is what is best for the entire country & not the self interest of the union segment. The union segment is much better off with a thriving economy grounded on low taxation & reduced government spending. You are too rational not to get past that.

Coons could be the reincarnated spirit of Mother Theresa or the second coming Himself and I would not vote for someone who organizes with the Dems and supports the Obama/Dem/media agenda.
O'Donnell should focus on the results of 4 years of Dem control of Congress + 2 years of Obama WH and how Coons' record and words show he will further the destruction of the country. We had a bad recession and the Dem answer was to trash the whole country.

America is in serious trouble. I don't believe everything I read, I do my own research. The reason Americans have not been informed on all of these issues is because they are out working all day or night to support their families, and unless they are tuned in and have been watching Fox News, or listening to Glenn Beck, Rush, Sean, etc...forget it... All the while these liberal, radical, Communist, Marxist heathens are plotting against the United States. They all have high paying union, left-wing organization, or czar jobs, thanks to BO and his associates. Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity have been fighting this for so long. Rush, and all the others who have been trying to tell us are ridiculed. It has taken America a while to wake up, but I am sure now that people are seeing what is going on things will change. We are tired of all these "professional politicians" with their huge capped teeth and bulging eyes, (Pelosi), the Rhino Republicans are worse, Harry Reid spending all this campaign $$ so he can return to Washington to kill what is left of capitalism, Barney F, we won't even go there, and BO and his queen seem to be busily working on their revolution against American culture, and even the foods we eat. . We want America capitalism to thrive, we want our country to be free of these Commie freaks, and '60s radical ideas. Now these street hippies, bomb-making freaks are in the main stream. I heard bed bugs have been found in one of our government buildings. And? There have been blood sucking entities there for years. Political correctness, look at Europe now, they have been infiltrated by the enemies of freedom. We are now in the same situation. Go ahead, America, let them cross our borders, let them infiltrate our political parties, let them have The White House...oh, they already have. It is imperative we vote all these nuts out, and then send them to some third world country where they can wreak havoc someplace else. Any other country would have deported these traitors...thus our political correctness is killing us all. We cannot let up, we have to go vote in November. No complacency.

America isn't nearly as messed up as it will be, if the good folks don't stand up against BHO and all those who support him. Everything started to go to hell when BHO came along. I hate to admit it, but I surely did not realize until 2 years ago that there were so many ignorant & stupid people in this country. I commend all the people who have posted sensible comments on here. The country has been taken over by fools and they have to be stopped. Americans made the biggest mistake in history when they put their trust in BHO and the idiots who support him. Don't ever let anything like this happen again. Your entire way of life depends on you taking sensible action.

Your mean the prescient "the end of history" Fuyukama?

or was it Francis FUKuyama?
RCV, please answer two discrete questions: why do these people think this country belongs to them and them alone? because it does?
And why do they think they have a right to conscript youths into the military? because they do?
And though defense is less expensive, expensive as divorced from ethics, than entitlements, isn't it a moral issue that these pigheads should pay the maximum amount to defend their property and their Constitution?
Abolish, please, Selective Service, let these people put on uniforms; even if they have before.

I'm sad for you. Bitter tears ...bitter tears you will weep....if you win.
Sir, when I read your line about working "full time" for Obama in 2008, I finally understood.
Evidently, we are about the same age. For forty years I built stuff for people. For forty years you have argued stuff.
You are obviously a good 'arguer'.
I always recall the Old Testament scripture..."without a vision, the people perish."
I have created a vision in the novel, as I have for the zillions of people I employed over the years.

This is a work of fiction….Pure speculative fiction. It is also a “Cautionary tale”.
No matter how I played games, the identities of the men and women in this fictional story would be perfectly obvious. The President is the President, and the Senators are the Senators we have. Nevertheless, the story takes place totally in the future with any actions or thoughts portrayed totally from my imagination.
First, I have never heard any of the named officials in this manuscript utter an expletive as I have fictionally expressed here. The named government officials and Senators and Representatives portrayed here are absolutely splendid God fearing men in my estimation, and any thoughts and/or actions I have attributed to them here are purely figments of my imagination. They might not even drink.
Second, given the fictional circumstances, I honestly believe these Senators would lay down their very lives for our country if necessary and just might do the things I attribute to them, given the need.
God knows I bless the “Army of One”, Rush Limbaugh. I have shamelessly placed words in his mouth that he has never uttered, nor perhaps even thought in his innermost being.
This is a story of a plausible existential attack upon our country, and our way of life. I have desperately tried to finish it before the November elections. I had to “think it”, and finish it. Hopefully, it can help preserve the shining city on the hill.
God bless America.

I don't give diddly about the pinko groups or the rally.
I do not at all like the way so many are demonizing Obama-- he is not a monster, and he is not a communist. But I admire the gall of the AS writer in the latest issue who (it hasn't been posted) writes Obama is worse than Carter! isn't partisanship in this case being pushed too far? Will a piece in December's issue of AS say Obama is worse than LBJ?
I wouldn't put it past some shill in this magazine.
Rev. Jesse Jackson| 10.5.10 @ 10:40PM
Alan Brooks, go paint your nails. "I do not like the way so many are demonizing Obama". You sound like that blond- headed faggot that was crying, "Leave Brittney Spears alone!" No one said that Obama is a monster. We've been saying that he's a racist muslim who hates America and happens to be a socialist. Oh, he's also a shitty president. It will be a cold day in hell when another black guy gets into the white house.
WonderWarthog| 10.6.10 @ 11:14AM

"No one said that Obama is a monster. We've been saying that he's a racist muslim who hates America and happens to be a socialist."
Oh, that makes sense: "Obama is no monster, we just hate him because he is out to destroy America, and he is a metro-sexual faggot-lover.
It will be a cold day in hell when another darky gets his paws on the levers of Executive Branch power"

Ken, for the 35 years I practiced full-time for my clients, I worked hard -- very hard -- on their behalf. Vindicating their rights, protecting their economic and other interests (most were corporations). I'm proud of what I accomplished for people, every bit as much as if I had produced a widget for them. And... my law firm, when I retired, had more than 800 lawyers and thousands of employees, each of whom had families to feed, children to raise, and a great country to love and support. Please, don't shed any tears for me. I don't need them.
look forward to the book - always like a good read!

To not understand who and what has influenced the democratic parties move to the far left is either puposefully naive or blatantly stupid.
It is obviously those in support of communist doctrine and indoctranation. The unions influence by communism goes back to their inception in this country and they have been steadily infiltrated by communist agents ever since. That is historical fact and the union leadership has embraced that influence in many instances, even when the rank and file would not.
With the election of obama the communist that in the past needed to stay in the background for political reasons are now feeling more impowered and are advertising their role in support of the democrats more and more.
Those who try to diminish this influence in our present day politics are playing their part in that influence and show themselves for what they are.

No, Bush 41 frittered away the post-Cold war dividend. He is the proximate origin of what we are in for now.

You are senile, nobody really cares about your book, Tex. It will look good on coffee tables, though.
You really think you have ti issue a copyright notice? who is going to plagiarize your blarney?
You suffer from the delusion of grandeur that an author who thinks because a few thousand of his books are sold and given away he will win a worthless award from the Wingnut Award For Rightwing Paranoids.
Tex, relax, nobody will confiscate your bullion or your guns. Or your land or property.

Chris Coons is a flaming leftist kind-o-liberal after all. I was so very surprised, especially after his recent claims to the contrary. ->'He's just a harmless somewhat progressive, fiscal-conservative.'

having some missteps while very young and some financial problems

After all the furor over alleged racist signs or words at Tea Party rallies, the media is ignoring the shocking fact that 12 of the 25 groups endorsing Delaware Democrat Chris Coons for the United States Senate over Republican Christine O'Donnell have turned up on the quite official list of the "One Nation Working Together" rally -- as formal co-sponsors with supporters of the terrorist groups Hezbollah and Hamas. And, no kidding, the Communist Party.
