Thank you for reminding me why I am conservative.
Atlanta is glad that Hanoi Jane has moved out of the Peach State, except for the plastic surgeons.
Ret. Marine| 8.24.10 @ 6:36AM
I don't think the issue here is one of "bad judgement" but, instead that of one alligence to the American way of life God and Country, and yes I am questioning the Patriotism of these commies bastards known as the demonrat, democrat's, dhimmicrats, or democratic party members.
Hanoi Jane, is but one of many of these traitors of this Republic. The issue really came into being with Woodrow Wilson (president) but through out the preceeding years prefected by these individuals who rally on about someone questioning their patriotism, this too is a complete lie by those who claim to be offended. Call it a little bit of tayyika when it was obscure to even them but, true to it's core. They are just liars, they have to be, mainly because up and until now, if they had claimed to be behind and in support of the very issues We the People are now seeing, they would have had a chance in hell of being elected to their prospective post, be it the Peoples House, the city mayor, council member, Senate or any other political post. Today they wallow in their own mud of their creation, while thinking they are the greatest thing that has come along since sliced bread, and wonder why the 52% of the American Patriots are bent upon sending them packing to hell where they truely belong. Nov can not come soon enough for this Patriot.
Robbins Mitchell| 8.24.10 @ 9:10AM
Well, you have to remember, that on a lot of issues like this, the left is pretty much going to support whichever side pokes America in the eye anyway...precisely because they know it goes deeply against the grain of so many folks in flyover country...in many instances..including this one...the left isn't supporting the mosque being built out of any altruistic concern for muslim 1st Amendment rights...they just want to stir the pot and try to guilt trip the rest of us and hurl invective at those who oppose this monument to bad taste...I mean we saw that one coming from 10,000 yards downrange
Eric Cartman| 8.24.10 @ 9:10AM
Ditto, RM. The picture above is one of a loyal Democrat being loyal to her friends - and those friends don't include you, me, and America in general. The Democrats - every last one - are traitorous scumbags. It's in their genes.
RCV| 8.24.10 @ 3:32PM
Try reading some history, Eric. It was a Democrat, LBJ, against whom Fonda spent her time protesting the prosecution of the war.
Nunya| 8.24.10 @ 5:14PM
RCV, try understanding that what she did was insulting to ALL patriotic Americans--regardless of whom you state it was against.
She should have been tried as a traitor, giving aid and comfort to the enemy. She IS a scumbag, as Eric stated.
RCV| 8.24.10 @ 5:44PM
No argument from me on that point. What she did was insulting to me even though I opposed the war. The North Vietnamese were bloodthirsty communist thugs who were at war with our troops, and NO American should have assisted them in that effort no matter what their views of the war.
JimP| 8.24.10 @ 6:40PM
I'm sorry, but I have to call you on this statement. NO ONE in the anti-war movement was insulted or the least bit concerned by what Fonda did in NVN in '72. So you are being .... 'disingenuous' on this point. I've heard this kind of statement from too many of you war protesting, draft dodgers years later about how you actually supported the troops, but not the war, or were offended by Hanoi Jane, John Kerry, Tom Hayden et al. BULL $#!T. For those of you not around in those days, this guy is full of it. Don't believe a word he says.
RCV| 8.24.10 @ 7:15PM
Sorry, JimP, but I'm not letting you or any of your kind speak for me. I opposed the war because it was outrageous to sacrifice our finest young men and women for a stupid, senseless war. Their lives were not worth choosing between the communist thugs in the north and the corrupt thugs in the south in trying to stop the inevitable unification of Viet-nam. We sacrified all those men and women for what? So that we could look today and see US warships visiting communist Vietnam, engaging in joint military exercises with them, and signing trade agreements? It's you who ought to be explaining yourself, not me. As for Fonda and Hayden, I hold no brief for them and never had. I don't put Kerry in the same bucket because he earned the right to speak out with his service.
JimP| 8.24.10 @ 7:51PM
Ha. BS! I served in Vietnam. Volunteered. I saw both sides of that era. Spare me and everyone else your bogus platitudes about the uselessness of it all, the waste of American lives, and current wargames etc. That's all self serving revisionist hindsight to make you, and the Dems, look less like the treacherous low lifes that you all are. I know you and the Dems don't give a damn, then or now, about American warfighters or the South Vietnamese that were abandoned or the millions murdered by the communists in Cambodia etc, etc, etc. It's all self justifying, revisionist crap that you came up with after the fact to deal with your culpability, guilty conscience and to fool the unknowing and get elected.
To paraphrase: There are lies, Damn lies, and Vietnam war protestors who were for the troops, but against the war, and were offended by Jane Fonda. ROTFLMAO.
RCV| 8.24.10 @ 9:53PM
I'd be bitter too.
JimP| 8.25.10 @ 6:27AM
LOL. Lame.
Flit Andersen| 8.24.10 @ 11:56PM
JimP, I just want to thank you for your service. At the time, I did not think my country had any business over there, but I was a young liberal puke at the time. I was not a draft-dodger; I simply waited to be drafted. I was not.
I hated Fonda, but I was very happy Nixon promised to get us out of Nam, and he made good on that. People forget "Vietnamization". It worked.
We handed off the fighting to a S. Vietnamese army that was holding it's own, with our funding. However, I thought it was pretty much a war crime that as soon as all of our guys were out, Teddy Kennedy lead the charge to pull the rug out from under those poor sob's and cut off their funding.
You could be against the war without being a traitor. The Left - most of them anyway - never seems to learn that lesson. Witness Iraq/Afg.
The men & women who wear our country's uniform are precious. Always have been.
Anyone who endangers them ought to be flogged.
Fonda's still with us. It's not too late.
JimP| 8.25.10 @ 6:26AM
Flit,
Yes you could be against the war and not be a traitor. Many of our generation were taken in by the communists who inspired and ran the war protest movement. Making mistakes as young people is par for the course. Thank you for not writing propagandistic statements that misrepresent history and the the anti-war movement, present yourself as something other than what you were, or excuse your youthful misjudgements with cliches, platitudes and disingenuous comments.
JimP| 8.24.10 @ 5:21PM
Are you trying to be funny? Try reading history yourself. LBJ was out as of Jan '69. Then JFK and LBJ's war became Nixon's and Nixon's alone. The leftoids didn't blame Johnson for anything after he left office. It was only after Tricky Dick, the anti-communist, was in that Janey made he spash.
RCV| 8.24.10 @ 5:41PM
My point was that trying to make the association of Jane Fonda with all Democrats was pretty silly given the prosecution of the war by the Democratic administration through Johnson's presidency, a war that Nixon promised to bring to end as part of his campaign. As a Democrat, I'm certainly not proud of Johnson's prosecution of that less than senseless war.
gypsy| 8.24.10 @ 6:24PM
Did ANY of those damned Democrats denounce Hanoi Jane? Did ANY of them demand that that evil little witch be prosecuted for treason? Did any of them get in her face and tell her she should sink through the fucking ground for shame, for laughing and cavorting with the same blood spattered pigs who were killing our soldiers, and torturing our POWs? NOT A WORD!!!! They were just as silent as all those "moderate" Muslims we keep hearing about every time another jihadist POS shoots up an army base, or tries to blow up an airliner with a bomb in his shoes, or in his underwear, or stuffed into where his heart would be if he had one.
Your kind didn't stand up for America then, and you sure as hell aren't doing it now.
RCV| 8.24.10 @ 7:33PM
In fact, Fonda was roundly criticized by scores of Democrats and others in the anti-war movement when she pulled her disgusting antics. Even as committed an anti-war activist as Joan Baez got into public spatting with Fonda when Baez criticized both her and human rights violations in North Vietnam.
And don't you or the other folks undermining our President and government talk to me about "anti-Americanism." Your hate-filled venom does more to aid Al-Qaeda's recruitment efforts than anything they could do themselves. You're a damn disgrace to our American values.
JimP| 8.24.10 @ 6:32PM
Yeah, sure, but you still got your history wrong and Jane Fonda was and still is the heart and soul of the Democrat Party. They/you just learned to hide it so you could get elected. Even now, you are trying to tag Nixon with your comment about how he promised to end the war. ( which he did, but it was over four years later). Prior to Nixon, LBJ alone got blame. ("Hey, hey LBJ, how many kids did you kill today?"). As I said, once Nixon was in, the left never uttered a word of criticism of LBJ and the bogus theory that JFK had a secret plan to pull us out, but got killed before he could implement it blah, blah surfaced. Fonda is emblematic of the Democrat Party.
RCV| 8.24.10 @ 7:19PM
There's nothing I could do to "tag Nixon" that that creep didn't do to himself. Fonda is no more emblematic of the Democratic Party than Nixon is of the GOP - indeed, a lot less emblematic. My criticism of LBJ never ceased with Nixon's election, although Nixon brought duplicity to new heights.
JimP| 8.25.10 @ 7:10AM

The full force of the home grown traitors who campaigned for communist in the 1960s, arm in arm with Hanoi Jane and that lying son of a bitch John Kerry is now upon us. I fought the communist in Viet Nam with the United States Army. My patriotic spirit has not waned and I'm ready to do it again, in whatever form the fight may take. There are millions of American patriots who will not quit without a fight. God bless Americans and our military.

There is much to that and in large part this is the secret to a "Happy Warrior" mindset that will get you through today's turmoil mentally intact. Progressivism or whatever name it adheres to today cannot survive a moment's scrutiny. Only as a theoretical can it thrive because it may promise without consequence. Some moan in dismay that free candy is always popular but in reality there is no candy and there ain't no "free". But how popular will socialized medicine be when even its own checks are bouncing? This is the fate of all these pseudo-socialist schemes once the enabling efforts of, say, a Bob Dole are removed from the mix and ALL moderation, needless to say, is now flattened, electorally. The libs will ALWAYS cut their own throats and as Tyrell has observed often, provide a cruel sport that is vastly entertaining. Along the way, the inevitable rubbishing of the claims of the Left will astonish their dupes in the electorate who will look to those who stuck to their principles and had them vindicated by events. No need to say, I told you so if only because they knew it all along, it's just common sense. They just had to give themselves permission to believe their own good judgement in the withering storm of the kultursmog. Do this once and, like anything else, it is easy to do it again.
Ken (Old Texican)| 8.24.10 @ 7:23AM
Mr. Lord
From your pen to God's ears.
The stupids on the Left are humming with their hands over their ears.
The amazing thing to me is that only 70% of Americans take the mosque there as a deadly insult to our fallen Americans.
I posted here before Obama even opened his big mouth...that the mosque story should be hung around the communist's (pardon the shorthand), and elitists'neck like an albatross.
Bob| 11.26.10 @ 10:32AM
How about a little respect for the president? He is president of your country. You are being suckered by a bunch of traitors who are trying to subvert our nation. They are creating lie anfter unfounded lie about the president. Read the facts. Obama has nothing to do with Jane Fonda. Where is the proof? This email that they have been sending around about the connection between Fonda and Obama was created ten years before Obama became president. Now they are trying to attach our president's name to it. This is what is known as demonizing: find any fact or person that a group of people opposes and then attach another person, such as our president, to it. A childish prank at best. If you want to be a patriot, find the facts before you get suckered by a bunch of people who are threatened by the leader of our nation.
Appleby| 8.24.10 @ 7:31AM
I still believe Hanoi Jane should have been hanged for treason. God will be her judge. Wish I could be there.
My own observation is that it takes a really big load of straw to break the American back -- and to make people suddenly realize that what they took for granted about the way life will unfold is Subject To Change Without Notice. And then they become determined to do something about it, and when Americans make up their minds, the world better step aside.
I was in a bar in Atlanta when Jimmy Carter made his tearful comment that he could not believe the Russians had lied to him (about their intentions in Afghanistan). The whole place burst out laughing. Couple that with his sweater-clad speech about Malaise, and Carter was done like dinner.
I look forward to the day Obama confesses with tears in his eyes that he cannot believe that the Imams lied to him. I look forward to the same countrywide outburst of laughter that will finally clear the air.
Deborah D| 8.24.10 @ 8:29AM
Obama will never have tears in his eyes (I don't think he has emotions except for anger) -- and he would never admit he was taken in by someone's lies. Whatever happens will be Bush's fault, Republicans' fault, bitter clingers' fault, Glenn Beck's fault, Rush Limbaugh's fault or just those Americans who act stupidly (all the time, as far as he's concerned). I do much prefer your scenario, however, Appleby!!
Ned| 8.24.10 @ 10:49AM
Are greed and hubris "emotions"? Cuz Obummer has those by the fistful....
Deborah D| 8.24.10 @ 11:44AM

I was raised by my Mom to understand and celebrate the greatness of America. Every vacation we took had to include a battlefield, Washington DC or a historical refuge like Jamestown. On July 4th, my Mom would make me and my siblings go out in the front yard and ring bells to celebrate our Independence. I thought she was crazy........then!
Now I understand that she had a innate understanding of the greatness of the USA and wanted to develop our understanding and appreciation of it.
America is awake, maybe my Mom is up in heaven ringing that danged bell?
Stephanie| 8.24.10 @ 7:56AM
Tenn Vol, I live a stones throw from Yorktown and Jamestown, VA and it is truely a place that needs to be experienced. To imagine what took place there and what it means for all of us. Truely hallowed ground.

Stephanie, I had a chance to spend a good bit of time around you when my son played football at William and Mary.
Virginia is a veritable garden but W and M was too liberal for my tastes! Luckily, he was, and remains, a staunch Conservative.
JimP| 8.24.10 @ 5:24PM
True, but you can count on one hand the colleges that are not leftwing in the U.S.
Stephanie| 8.24.10 @ 7:53AM
Appleby, I hope we'll have a reason to laugh when he finally sees these supressors of freedom for what they are. I hope it won't be too late and that sharia isn't embedded into our judicial system. Christian churches are closing at an alarming rate and muslims mosques are growning by leaps and bounds. How do you fight that?
We need 100% of the American public against this mosque at GZ and we need to take our outrage to the front door of the Capitol. What I don't get is why a free American citizen would want to become a part of such an idiology/religion.
Deborah D| 8.24.10 @ 8:18AM
Stephanie -- I got into an argument about this GZ Mosque issue with a leftie from NY the other day. She is so wrapped up in her "tolerant" (for everyone but normal Americans), "First Amendment" (but only for Muslims' freedom of religion and not for your free speech) and name calling and condescension -- it was terribly appalling. It was also apparent that the disgust she feels for Americans is real and palpable. That is the liberal mindset.
Americans who work hard? "Screw you" says the liberal -- you should be happy to pay more to take care of those in need. Obamacare is compassion, she says. But, no where is there compassion for the doctors whose livelihoods are threatened and for those Americans who come after us who will have to live in a less-free society and have worse health care. They don't want to look that far because then their little house of cards will come tumbling down. She also has no children -- I think that makes a difference.
Those liberals who have children -- I hope they curse you when they see what you have done to their freedoms.
Shariah and freedom are like oil and vinegar -- they do not mix.
sly311| 8.24.10 @ 12:18PM
It's such a shame those children will never know what freedom and liberty really are and what they really mean. Our public school system will take care of that. By the time they grow up they will know nothing else but whining liberalism, the nanny state and eco freaks. The reality is we can never ever stop fighting, we can never let our guard down and we can never stop educating ourselves in what our core values should be. Liberalism is evil--they will never stop trying. Obama will be viewed as a hiccup in America's growth and in some ways a needed wakeup call. God bless us and watch over us always.
BackToBasics| 8.24.10 @ 8:17AM
---Christian churches are closing at an alarming rate --- Stephanie
Yes, it is a shame what is happening to churches. I mentioned my beleif a couple weeks ago on a post here that I think the eradication of Chritianity is what is behind all the political / cultural wars going on in America and it the world really. But America seems to be the focal point of this.
Yet, I think a good percentage of the so-called evangelical/fundamentalist churches here, probably 25% to 40%, are compromised and infiltrated at the top levels with wolves in sheep's clothing. We certainly need a lot of prayer.
If and when the hard times come the churches will be weeded out and it NEEDS to be. One of my prayers is that in this process, is that America will be spared the worst and an regain some of her lost greatness and good leadership. We need MUCH prayer and even fasting. Hard times will force this upon us I think. Amen.
Purple Lips| 8.24.10 @ 8:30AM
Interesting you bring that up (church closings). The Muslims plan to erect a Mega-Mosque smack dab in the middle of the Bible Belt - Tennesse.
The only consolation I can see is the steady rise in the so-called Catholic "reverts" - those Catholics who left the Church as teens returning later in life. Also, the number of adult Catholics getting baptised or being confirmed has held steady at 110,000-120,000 per year for over a decade. It is more difficult to track Protestant numbers, as many church hop.
Periwinkel| 8.24.10 @ 12:24PM
Yeah, but a whole bunch of those Catholics voted for Obama. Too bad there's no preaching politics from the pulpit in the Catholic church. Some of them surely needed it!
On a happier note, I can see November 2 from my front porch. It's beautiful!!!
BackToBasics| 8.25.10 @ 12:06AM
Good point about the mosque being built in Tennesee. I'll bet it is with the "blessings" of the far left. I think my point about the main focal point of what is going on is the eradication of Christianity. That the left will get behind Islam 100% but spit on Christianity, I think proves my point.
I have confronted a handful liberals, relatives, in the past and told them that what they REALLY HATED about Republican leaders (even though soft and mushy and Democrat-lite as most of them are) is that there was still a semblance of Chritianity in the party and the Bible-beleiveing Christinas mostly voted Republican. I was met WITH SILENCE with each individual I brought this up with.
This hatred for Christianity is SO STRONG that the left is willing to destroy America if that is what it takes to get rid of it at least here. I think this is the mostly unpoken truth of what is going on and I think most conservative commentators miss this point and ALL that it pertains regarding the battle we are up against.
BackToBasics| 8.25.10 @ 12:08AM
correction --
I think this makes my point about the main focal point of what is going on is the attempted eradication of Christianity by the left.
olainfree| 8.24.10 @ 12:18PM
When the pro-GZ mosque/ anti-GZ mosque protests were taking place in NYC this past weekend (with the "pro" group vastly outnumbered, photos were taken of the signs held aloft by each group. The "pro" group's signs were professionally produced, and at the bottom of many they were attributed to a Leftist-Communist sponsor.

1. Bill Ayers (Bombed government buildings and still brags about it as a source of pride. One of Obama's best friends and promoters.)
2. Jeremiah Wright (Obama's preacher who hates white people and hates America and Obama claims he never heard any of it for 20 years.)
3. Tim Geithner (Tax cheat running the Treasury. There is some humor in that you have to admit.)
4. Bail Out Fever (Although Obama has promised an end to bail outs they continue in the form of bailing out public service employees, unions and mortagees who can't pay mortgages.)
5. Failed Stimulus (Unemployment remains high and may go much higher. The stimulus is a complete failure.)
6. Commies in the White House (VanJones, et al)
7. Penny Pritzker (Amazingly, the press has never focused on this lady or her part in a bank failure (Superior Bank) which cost the FDIC hundreds of millions and depositors lost their lives savings.)
8. The Mosque (Obama has labeled Christian Americans as bitter gun toting racists but welcomes the monotheistic terror loving Muslims with open arms.)
9. BP Oil Spill (No response from Obama for 59 days.)
10. Vacations, golf (At this point Obama has taken off more time and played more golf then Bush did in his first four years. All this while the nation suffers economic turmoil. )
11. Michelle in Spain (Over $400,000 of taxpayer funds so she could take a TYCO style vacation. When Dennis Kozlowski did it at shareholder's expense he went to prison.)

Once in a while a picture comes along that changes America. The raising of the flag on Iwo Jima, young Kennedy saluting at his father's funeral, and yes, George Bush II speaking at Ground Zero. These are pictures that changed the course of human events. Hanoi Jane's picture changed the way America thought and subsequently the way America voted. If only we could come up with another picture prior to Nov. But, it's going to be different in Nov. anyway.

Obama had already kneecapped the dems with Obamacare and the ‘Stimulus’—it’s just taking them a while to catch up with the reality. But his “Imam Obama” mosque endorsement has in all likelihood delivered a head blow to the Democratic Party from which it will not recover as along Republicans have the good sense to nominate quality candidates for president from now on…a big if.
John Navratil| 8.24.10 @ 10:13AM
davelnaf,
Indeed, a big 'if'. I'm praying that Dick Armey is correct and the conservatives (via the Tea Parties) are retaking the Republican party. The party of Specter and Hagel (who just endorsed Sestak over Toomey) will never be anything other than the other hand clapping.
It has become a club and we are the bus boys scratting about for tips.

Every President has a limited supply of "political capital". If their policies prove popular then they can get more capital, if their policies are unpopular then their capital dwindles. A President has to pick and choose which battles to fight. Obama's popularity is falling, his political capital is in short supply, yet he chose to inject himself in something that wasn't a Federal matter and that had already been decided. There was no upside for him, he was late to the party and the case was over so why was he compelled to involve himself in the issue?
It was simply the latest in a long list:
The Mosque vs. the American People
Arizona Immigration Lawsuit vs. the American People
Healthcare Reform vs. the American People
Voter Intimidation vs. the American People
The Economy vs. the American People
Energy Policy vs. the American People
A President divided against his country cannot stand.

Supporting the Constitution is "bad judgment?" Very interesting.
Yes the radical right extremists and their rabid lust to alter the Constitution and deny Americans their rights is very much going to affect the elections.
Very interesting indeed.
Deborah D| 8.24.10 @ 11:36AM
Just which rights are Americans being denied? We are exercising our freedom of speech, which you would like to deny us. So just which rights are being denied Americans by wanting respect for America to be considered by someone who claims to be a moderate Muslim, but at the same time wants sharia law instituted. Do you, Kylie (I assume you're a female), wish sharia law instituted in the U.S. -- because that's what those behind the mosque want. I suggest you read Andrew McCarthy. RacerJim| 8.24.10 @ 12:21PM
Lefties are so dishonest because lefty and honesty are mutually exclusive. To wit: lefties ignore the fact that there already are two mosques near "ground zero".

"the radical right extremists and their rabid lust..etc". What the Hell are you talking about? Deny what rights? Is this a real opportunity? For whom does it bode well? Republicans? What about us? In each of those election cycles the Republicans didn't enact good judgment. In fact, their judgments were to continue spending.
This will only be an opportunity if we see a true economic plan from the Republican leadership that says what they will do and it has to start with an actual reduction in spending. We need to reduce spending by at least $1.5 trillion and reduce tax rates on income and investment.
Will this happen? Will this be more of the K-Street crowd just doing the same old thing? We saw Paul Ryan's pathetically weak "economic recovery plan" and the Republican leadership won't even sign on to that peace of self-serving garbage. What are we to expect if not more of the same?
We will never, ever be emancipated by the Republicans and we will never be free of the liberal-progressives, so what is to be done? Mr. Lord's article suggests the judgment issue is one the Republicans can win, yet it is the one they always lose as well. They lose the issue for the same reason the Democrats lose the issue: in the end, it's about real solutions and as long as we vote for Republicans or Democrats the odds of them using the real solution to solve our economic challenges are about the same as Mr. Lord being elected President of the United States.

"This will only be an opportunity if we see a true economic plan from the Republican leadership that says what they will do and it has to start with an actual reduction in spending. We need to reduce spending by at least $1.5 trillion and reduce tax rates on income and investment."
Easiest way to do that is to get rid of this monstrosity that is called Obamacare, and reverse all tax increases that Obama has put in place.
I do agree that Republicans have as much fiscal responsibility as the Democrats. This country needs a change of reigns from the top down; a complete overhall of Washington all the way to our local state governments.Until that happens we will see no real progress. The chances of that happening is as much chance that a snow ball has in hell.

Leftism is more than just bad judgment, it is a disease, that just when it appears to have disappeared in American politics, it re-emerges more virulent then ever.
From Viet Nam to an in your face Ground Zero mosque, the Left is always in the face of America. Will Hanoi Jane be the first to climb the mosque's minaret and put out its first call to worship, on 9/11/12? I suspect she'll have converted by then, but will this anti-American feminist be allowed to peform such an act, being a woman, afterall? Hanoi Jane in a burka, my how the Left manages to twist their brains into knots.
olainfree| 8.24.10 @ 12:28PM
The apologists for the Ground Zero mosque and "cultural center" claim that it is not a mosque because it will have no minarets. It will, however, have multiple floors dedicated to it sharia law center.
Besides the GZ mosque's geographical placement about which its sponsors are adamant, it serves not only as in in-your-eye symbol of conquest (not reconciliation) but a slow boil of acceptance into dhimmitude. The frog gets boiled a little slower with this method, but the result is the same.
Anthony| 8.24.10 @ 1:34PM
Chris Matthews, the indefatigably motor mouth, apparently had a grand ole time last night brow beating some poor guy as to how far away from G.Z. will satify the rabid Right.
Unfortunately the poor guy was unprepared for spittle Chris; what he should have responded was that the mosque site IS G.Z., as part of the planes landing gear and other parts damaged the building, hence the low purchase price.
I have no doubt that while the rest of the nation is fixated on the silly question of how far is far enough, the Iman is happy to plant the flag of victory on a building that was collateral damage, not quite a bulls eye, but close enough.
Will NYs midget mayor and Matthews volunteer to be chained to the mosque as human shields in case we get lucky, not with a plane, but with a tomato?

The apologist can't have it both ways. First they say that the should be allowed to build a mosque there due to Freedom of Religion.
Then the change the name to a "Cultural Center".
Which is it? If it is a "Cultural Center" than Freedom of religion does not cover it. Why change the name if you don't know your argument is already lost?

Leftism makes its proponets stupid. They willingly believe the silliest and most absurd ideas. I have seen this all my life and I marvel at the lemming like hysteria that is part of this stupidity.
Do you doubt me? Consider this, if leftists raised their families and lived their lives with the same recklessness they hold political ideas they would be extinct.
RCV| 8.24.10 @ 3:24PM
So, leftists "willingly believe the silliest and most absurd ideas." Like, Barack Obama wasn't born in Hawaii, but in Kenya? Like, President Obama is really a Muslim? Like, there's a secret treaty to unite Canada, Mexico and the US into one country?
John II| 8.25.10 @ 1:13AM
And . . . like . . . Barack Obama won't reveal his school records? And the One is addicted to the first-person pronoun? And the Obummer doesn't appear to know anything about economics or about history or about ordinary Americans? And the Professor just can't seem to avoid sticking his foot in his mouth every twenty minutes or so? You left THOSE crazy notions out, Ricky. And a whole bunch of other crazy notions. Don't stint, now.
Actually, it might not be such a bad idea for Canada, Mexico, and the US to unite into one country. 'Course, Mexico would have to learn how to govern itself first, and Canada would have to learn some modesty--but, hay-el, stranger things have happened, I reckon.

Lest we forget then U.S. Navy Ltjg John F. Kerry's 1972 testimony under oath before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee during which he protrayed the day to day conduct of our Armed Forces in Vietnam as reminiscent of Ghenghis Khan. Note that while explaining/justifying his opinions he self-indicted himself as traitor and a war criminal.

I wish I had a nickel for every time last rites were read to Liberalism. It just seems never to tire of quoting Mark Twain, I guess.
We supposedly killed liberalism many many times, with such weapons as Hanoi Jane's picture, Teddy's underwater valor, McGovern's crying, Carter's nuclear adviser, Mondale's Taxes for Dummies, Dukakis' paroled murderers, Clinton's honoring of the White House carpet, Clinton's perjury... and now we have Obama.
Heck, just four years prior to electing this most radical leftist president and giving him a super majority of congressional sympathizers, Rush Limbaugh was chortling that we need to keep some liberals around as a historical reminder. Who knew?
So a mosque is going to do what two generations of voters had to go through? Maybe this election cycle. But I fear a pattern: every time we voted out liberalism in the past, the next strain elected was stronger and less concerned with offending Middle America. If we lull off to sleep, and the pattern continues, the next wave of liberals to be elected will be the last. Last to stand for election, that is.

Americans show their loathing and moral disapproval in strange ways. When other aging actresses were losing out on movie parts to younger versions of themselves, Jane was still making movies like “9 to 5”, “Fun with Dick and Jane”, “Klute” and “Monster In Law” - movies which many Americans loved if you judge by lavish receipts earned at the box office. When other aging actresses were hunting down rich husbands to provide financial security during middle age, Jane promptly dumped her hippie, politician husband and landed her very own disgustingly rich sugar daddy but, at the same time, she also raked in piles of money peddling exercise videos and cheesy books to patriotic citizens. By almost any popular measure, Jane Fonda is a highly successful American who says her anti-war stance was misunderstood and she has already apologized, so just get over it.
For our Vietnam veterans who lost a limb or internal organs in the war and couldn’t just get over it, their reward was long term access to a veterans’ hospital – for free. Other veterans battled recurring psychological problems, some became homeless living out of those big appliance boxes from Monkey Wards. Surprisingly, no veteran became wealthy due solely to serving in Vietnam, no veteran was repeatedly elected to office for condemning Bobby Seale or Jane Fonda Turner. Young Americans attempting to understand the contrast in life’s rewards between Hanoi Jane and our aging Vietnam veterans have to be thoroughly confused over America’s bizarre approach when expressing our heartfelt gratitude.

Bad judgement? Yes. But why? Because in an unbroken lineage that came before Hanoi Jane and was highlighted by her, the line continues to President Obama. And that makes it not just bad judgement, as they cannot help themselves, but it makes it their DNA driven sense of being. Bad judgement, bad genes, all found in the cocktail that makes a liberal.

Its been noted before but is worth repeating, every spoiled rotten ex-hippie boomer who gets misty-eyed at JFK should remember, Kennedy believed in American exceptionalism, and would likely have been appalled by their behavior five to six short years later. It's also worth noting that despite what you see on PBS, not everyone grew their hair long and sought to destroy order and common decency in the name of, oh yeah, peace and love.

Jane Fonda is a despicable human. I personally have not seen or supported one thing she has done since that terrible picture. She represents what we are now up against in the form of obama.
Our biggest enemy is within which is what makes it so dangerous for us.
I just do not think enough people understand that in too many cases we are not dealing with fellow citizens but rather with people who would just as easily represent a foreign invader armed with a foreign doctrine.

I had not seen that picture of Hanoi Jane in a long time. My reaction surprised myself. I guess some feelings will never go away. When she "apologized", I watched it on TV very close. It was no apology at all, she just tried to justify why she did it. The day they bury this broad, I will rejoice. It is just too bad that there are so many of those people around. The 8:46 Campaign & Obama
The USA is presently under attack! Not by a plane flying into a building, but by a tyrant lying inside a building - the White House!
According to many sources, it was 8:46 in the morning on September 11, 2001 when 9-11 began in New York City.
The answer to the present national crisis will not be found in either an "Eric Rudolph" or in a "John Hinckley Jr."
It will be found when true American patriots collectively ask God to remove - or at least greatly slow down - the same national pestilence!
Each morning at 8:46 all genuine Americans, in their respective time zones, should fervently pray "God, Stop Obama!"
The more this collective prayer is sent to the "God" mentioned in all 50 state constitutions, the sooner this national cancer will be removed!
True, the Bible does say that some crimes are so unspeakable that Christians should pray that the offender will be "taken away" and delivered to "Satan for the destruction of the flesh."
Details of this are in I Corinthians (chap. 5), but patriots would be happy if Barack Hussein Obama, protector of the Ground Zero mosque, could merely be toppled from his throne!
For further light Google "Imam Bloomberg's Sharia Mosque," "Obama Supports Public Depravity," "Madam Nancy Pelosi's Brothel District" and the pdf version of Prof. F. Nigel Lee's "Islam in the Bible."

So, while we are talking about America's noble actions in the 60s-80s, can we talk about the death squads from Guatemala to Argentina that the U.S. funded and trained? You know, the ones that killed 30,000 Argentinian citizens opposed to fascist military rule and about 100 actual urban guerrillas.
You guys here have more in common with those fascists and death squads than you do with the ones who were killed - you know, those who defended democracy, civil rights such as freedom of speech and freedom to organize, freedom to worship. You know the South American "leftists" or "progressives."

ALAS...
It will take a several elections to cleans the congressional halls of Demrats and RINO dung. We do, however, have a more immediate problem with politically correct 'conservatives' .
They habitually refer to proponents of investigating the most serious constitutional question to ever confront America as examples of a mental sub class, i.e., 'birthers'. The ridicule verbalized is in some cases is even more severe than that of the Alinsky left.
Ordinarily it is presumed that such a level of mockery emanating from otherwise 'credentialed' conservatives would be fully amplified with detailed facts supporting their conclusions. Foregoing an alphabetical listing of the offenders, the 'facts' buttressing their declarations range from, "he is only involved in the eligibility thing for publicity", to, "you play right into the hands of the left questioning the president's citizenship".
My demand of these 'conservatives; show us your argument in print for the record! None have ventured forth to date with anything more than mouth.
Just as we intend to relieve the nation of the current infestation of parasites, it will be useful to administer pesticide to false voices within. Nothing more effective than shunning.

CFR member receives financial backing from who’s who of global corporate elite
Steve Watson
GCN Live.com
Friday, Aug 20th, 2010
The Imam of the now infamous “ground zero mosque” is a member of the ultra elitist Council On Foreign Relations and receives financial backing from powerful globalist sources including the Rockefellers, the Carnegie Corporation and the Ford Foundation.
This information provides a compelling backdrop to the theory that the move to establish the mosque is a deliberate attempt to further stoke religious tensions and divert attention away from the real enemy of free humanity, the corporate globalist elite who continue to profit from global war and division.
The proposed mosque, to be known as Cordoba House is the project of the Cordoba Initiative, an organisation founded by ‘Imam’ Feisal Abdul Rauf (pictured above), who, in addition to being a member of the World Economic Forum’s Council of 100, is an active member of the Council on Foreign Relations’ Religious Advisory Committee.
The Cordoba Initiative’s website cites “Christian support for the Cordoba House” in the form of Christian publication, “Sojourners”, which is owned by evangelical Christian writer and political activist Jim Wallis, also coincidentally a sitting member of the CFR’s Religious Advisory Committee.
The CFR, as regular readers know, is populated exclusively by major players with the biggest corporations, banks and defence contractors in the world – all of whom are making vast profits and securing more power from continued global conflict. The CFR also exerts far reaching influence over the U.S. government.
Tony Cartalucci at landdestroyer blog breaks down the fact that every single leading player in both the neocon infested Bush administration and the “change” gang under Barrack Obama is a CFR luminary. Cartalucci also provides further stunning research relating to Cordoba House and its CFR Imam, which breaks down as follows.
Feisal Abdul Rauf also heads up the American Society for Muslim Advancement (ASMA) which enjoys a partnership with the Cordoba Initiative and provided $100 million to secure the site close to ground zero for the mosque to be built.
That $100 million came directly from the back pockets of ASMA’s financial backers.
According to ASMA’s website they include the Carnegie Corporation of New York, the Ford Foundation, Rockefeller Brothers, Rockefeller Philanthropy, and the Rockefeller Brothers Fund – essentially the tip of the pyramid of the international globalist elite.
This story is a perfect microcosm of the new world order agenda.
The mainstream media continues to push the mosque story hour after hour, day after day, from the perspective of both the left and the right, manufacturing a controversy that plays on a now indentured fear of Islam that has been cooked up over the last nine years via endless phony “muslim” terror plots and concocted “al qaeda” threats.
Real muslims are witnesses to a vicious backlash, stirred up and served from this corporate media cauldron, creating the impression they are under attack by non-muslims and forcing them to have to defend their religion, and the whole thing snowballs onwards.
The connections to 9/11 are clear, and also serve to enforce the mythical notion that 19 radical muslims controlled by some guys in a cave in Afghanistan were able to direct military precision attacks on America with devastating consequences.
Meanwhile behind all of this are the global elite, rubbing their hands in glee as a manufactured “clash of civilizations” unfolds and the whole of humanity lunges at each other’s throats.

One thing that seems to be left out is Hanoi Janes husband, Ted Turner, who built a news media empire by betraying America. He got his media start by agreeing to help communist propaganda have access to the American air ways in exchange for coverage of the Moscow Olympics. Most American media turned the communist down on their demands for that privilege, but not Ted Turner. He was their door to America's media. Today that foot hold has given Obama, probably a Moslem illegal alien and terrorest supporter, access to the Presidency. What is now called the main stream media purposfully refusses to do its job of properly keeping the public informed, but instead provides cover for the destruction of freedom supporting instituitions.
