Going after Sue Lowden in Nevada.
Any doubt that former Nevada state GOP chair Sue Lowden isn’t the challenger Sen. Harry Reid is concerned with will probably be removed in the coming days as a 527 Reid has influence with launches a media blast at Lowden.
The Patriot Majority Fund, a 527 set up by Craig Varoga, a former communications director for Reid in the Senate, plans to launch attack ads against Lowden in Nevada, ignoring the two main Republican candidates, local developer Danny Tarkanian and state senator Sharron Angle.
Angle, who was recently endorsed by one of the Tea Party organizations, has continued to struggle to gain traction, with her previous support in the legislature for taxpayer funding to underwrite a Church of Scientology “destocks” program in Nevada prisons, dogging her, most recently in a Las Vegas Sun profile.
Lowden continues to outpoll both competitors, and now Reid, who has trailed in head to head polls against her, is unleashing the hounds. The Patriot Majority Fund is backed almost exclusively by labor organizations, with the occasional celebrity name (mystery author Patricia Cornwell) and oddity (Zuffa LLC, the holding company for Ultimate Fighting Championships) popping up on its FEC filings. Otherwise the contributor list reads like a “Who’s Who” for unions. Big donors include the Service Employees International, the Sheet Metal Workers, the National Education Association, the Teamsters, and numerous other local labor organizations.
Reid’s Senate staff claimed to be unaware of the media buy against Lowden, though a Democrat Senatorial Campaign Committee staffer said it was a radio and TV package that would be up “for more than a week.”
Besides serving as a smear-funder for Reid, the 527 also seems to be a nice payout for Varoga, who appears to be paying himself via any number of entities he controls, including several consulting and research firms based in several different cities across the country.

Ms. Lowden would be well advised to move her family out of state, to an undisclosed location, until after election day. As Nevada congressional staffers told me during my time in Washington 7-8 years ago, "Harry Reid breaks kneecaps, literally." He's a gangster, a thug, as much a mafioso as his union stooge supporters. And he will maim and kill to keep his seat--count on it. "Dirty" doesn't begin to adequately describe him, and the denials of his staff (bagmen) are absurd. He and they know precisely who is doing what on their behalf.
For TJ--do you really need to know the specifics (which probably the author here doesn't know yet)? Pick from the list: racist, homophobic, in industry's pocket, anti-worker, supports Yucca Mtn and therefore wants to irradiate little schoolchildren, anti-environment. Once Reid's stooges have exhausted that list, they'll move on to lies about her personal life, probably some nasty rumors about her sex life, her husband's or past boyfriends' drug habits, etc. If she has kids they'll be arrested within the next few months and charged with something lurid and ludicrous--which the on-the-take press will impute to Ms Lowden. Your article is full of holes. You don't even know the name of the candidate (Danny Tarkanian) and Sharron Angle was never a Senator in Nevada. She was in the legislature for 8 years. The program she asked legislatures to look at was not a Scientology program but the person who founded it had connections with Scientology. She was smeared with lies about that. She was endorsed by the TEA Party Expresss in Washington, DC on April 15, 2010 and has gotten numerous conservative endorsements. All the smear ads are not going to help Dirty Harry get elected. I agree Sue Lowden is not the one to beat Harry because she has too many skeletons in the closet and Danny is a naive boy running on his dad's famous name but Harry better look out for Sharron Angle. She is the conservative with a proven record who can and will beat Harry.

Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) continues to trail his potential Republican opponents by double digits, according to a new Rasmussen poll.
In a hypothetical match-up with former Nevada GOP Chairwoman Sue Lowden, Reid trails 52 percent to 39. Were he to face businessman Danny Tarkanian, he'd face a 51-41 percent deficit.
Reid fares slightly better against former Assemblywoman Sharron Angle, who holds an 8 percent edge over the majority leader.
Those findings are basically unchanged from previous Rasmussen polls this month.

Harry Reid has irritated many in his home state but the saddest thing is lack of competence from the Republican options. Lowden has become a laughingstock with her handling of the “Chicken” issue. I take her to task for her handling of it, which has been bumbling to be fair.
The Tarkanian camp seems way too shady in relation to actions in the past.
For me best two options are either Angle or Parson. They offer a decent perspective and alternatives to bumbling or the less than trustworthy.
Remember folks, vilifying the current senator is easy; getting him out requires honest and thoughtful discussion with all. Reactionary comments just polarize people.
