There are words for national leaders who attempt to appease
their enemies while at the same time shaming and humiliating
their friends. One of the kindest of the words is “naive.”
This comes to mind because of President Obama’s recent
overtures to the terrorist state of Iran, while shaming
Israel.
In recent months and days, President Obama has, once again,
reached out a supplicating hand to The Islamic Republic of Iran,
only to be met by mockery, sarcasm, and rebuff. He has also
agreed to only the most modest of sanctions against the Tehran
regime to induce it to abandon its nuclear weapons program — a
program which Tehran’s Ahmadinejad has said he will not abandon
no matter what the rest of the world does.
These love notes go out to a nation that has brutally
repressed its own people, is training our vicious Taliban enemies
in Afghanistan, has long been aiding factions killing Americans
in Iraq…the same nation that killed 244 American Marines and
other fighting men in the Beirut bombing of 1983 and seized the
U.S. Embassy and kept our Foreign Service personnel hostage there
for over 400 days.
These roses are going out to a nation which has shown
absolutely zero interest in making peace with the United
States.
At the same time, Mr. Obama has done all he could to
humiliate Benjamin Netanyahu, Premier of Israel, because Israel
wants to build 1600 apartments for its citizens in Jerusalem.
This is in Jerusalem, Israel’s capital. Not a settlement. The
capital of a sovereign state.
The humiliation included personal insults and slights to
Mr. Netanyahu, who had flown to Washington to plead with Mr.
Obama to understand why Israel is doing what it’s doing. Just by
the way, I do not see Ahmadinejad flying to D.C. to speak to Mr.
Obama at all. In a nutshell, Barack Obama is more concerned about
Jews building homes in Jerusalem than about Iran building a
nuclear weapon. This is almost unbelievable.
I guess the idea is that if the U.S. treats Israel badly,
the Moslems and Arabs will like the U.S. better. Why don’t we
tell that to the Russians, who were Israel’s sworn foe and
against whom the Moslems fought desperately in Afghanistan —
with our help. Is Israel the reason Sunnis and Shiites kill each
other in Iraq by drilling holes into each other with electric
drills? Does President Obama really believe that making Israel
give up building on a few acres in Jerusalem will change the mood
of a terrorist state pledged to annihilate all of Israel — and
to do whatever it can to bring down “the Great Satan…” The United
States of America?
Western nations have tried bowing down to aggressive
dictatorships before. It was called appeasement in the 1930s and
it led to World War II. There is absolutely no sign it will work
any better this time. Dictators do not respect weakness. Israel
knows it. Mr. Obama doesn’t, but let’s hope he will learn.
Robbins Mitchell| 4.5.10 @ 6:19AM
Anybody who goes swimming in Dickie Daley's toilet is not naive,Ben...he is ideologically (if not religiously) motivated to suck up to our enemies and to toss our allies under the bus..his reasoning seems to be that if Bush and the 'white power structure' did it a certain way,it was wrong...ergo,he will do the opposite and lead us all into a bright Alinskyesque tomorrow where the world is more to his personal liking...not to put to fine a point on it,but one may as well argue that Castro was naive when he took over Cuba and jumped in bed with the Soviets..and he was 15 yrs younger than Barokeydoke...and without the benefit of an Ivy League education...come to think of it,that probably worked to Castro's advantage
Alan Brooks| 4.5.10 @ 12:49PM
Obama isn't naive, but MANY of his constituents are frightfully naive.
That is the worst thing about college bubble towns.
Jeremy Janson | 4.5.10 @ 4:43PM
Hopefully this caused them to smarten up a bit, and I see some evidence from here at Georgia Tech (granted, top notch college but still) that such may have finally happened.

Hate to say it, but I think Obama really knows what he's doing. Since he hates America so much (don't believe me? see http://www.newsrealblog.com/20.....more-46898 ), he probably sees Iran as the most likely candidate to bring us to our knees. If this were the 1970-80's, he would be kowtowing before Russia.

America's friends are Barack's enemies.

What would you know about college Alan? I'm guessing it's been over 2 decades since you were there. But let's set the record straight:
Everyone- please stop worshipping Israel They disrespected Joe Biden and President Obama. Do those scheming leaches in Israel forget how America made them great? Our "allies" wouldn't exist if we hadn't stuck our neck out for them and those ungrateful little snots think they can spit in the faces of America's leaders. How bout we cut off all funding for them and see how they react? Hopefully, it will teach them some manners and we can use it to repay the deficit.
nobozons| 4.6.10 @ 8:18AM
Sam, stop drinking BO's cool aid. Biden was not disrespected. Israel just didn't give BO what he wanted for his conference with the Arabs. Look past your nose Sam!
Kim| 4.6.10 @ 11:48AM
"Our "allies" wouldn't exist if we hadn't stuck our neck out for them"
Not true. The Jews have been around much longer than the United States, therefore, they are pretty good at taking care of themselves in the face of all the hostility aimed at them throughout the centuries.
Wellstone| 4.10.10 @ 2:45PM
Yes true.
Had Kissinger and Nixon not saved Israel from destruction in the 1973 Yom Kippur War, and then kept Israel as the No. 1 taker of US military and foreign aid for the next 40 years, there would be no Israel today.
jh| 4.11.10 @ 11:46PM
Wellstone: You need to brush up on your history. The U.S. spent (and spends) 50 times as much defending Western Europe throughout the Cold War as it ever spent on Israel. But, so condescending to all others and firm belief that the future belongs to themselves, exclusively.I do believe a majority of them would support military and police action against members of the nation who won't submit to their will. Of course, later we'd get therapy if we survived. We thought we settled this-Solzenitzen was freed and his books published. Ha !

Mike| 4.5.10 @ 9:32PM

GavInTucson| 4.6.10 @ 12:42AM
It's not about political correctness. It's about elevating the discussion above name calling. The left resorts to name calling because they can't intelligently debate the issues. If they wish to debate on the level of a high school drop out, so be it. We lessen ourselves by stooping to their level.

lets not forget that Bush did little on Iran even though they were killing our men in Iraq. But with Obama we are far too often forced to wonder on every move,is he an imbecile or is he trying to destroy the US? Is it possible he is treating Israel like garbage in hopes they will do his work for him and attack Iran? Who else but Israel can be trusted to get the job done right?
The more disturbing question is why does the US Jewish community continue to vote for Democrats?

And don't forget about that CIA report late in Bush's term on Iran that asserted their nuclear program was no threat - timed exactly to take away any political support for military action against Iran. That report was a political farce designed to embarrass Bush and make Americans feel less fearful of Iran. The CIA political machine is responsible for letting Iran get to this point with nukes, NOT Bush!

Do you not remember that Obama said he was going to do everything the exact opposite of "he who must not be named, but is so often anyway"?
Opposite. But now when opposite fails you claim Bush did it too? That's logic.
The Israeli Jews need to convince their American counter parts and fast! Obama won't survive without the Jewish vote. In some ways it is American Jews on the left who should get the blame if Iran bombs Israel.
I care, why don't they?
No doubt some of them will say it is Bush's fault.

As a Jew and a patriot, I heartily agree. Why do the vast majority believe in the salvation of the democratic party? GW was 10x the friend of Israel than BO is or ever will be. BO's "apology" tour attempred an equation of the Holocaust to the plight of the Palestinians;WAKE UP.
More importantly, as an American, the dems have proven what they stand for; a euro-style nanny state that has little to do with what this country is about. For the 1st time in my life, I'm scared for my country and my kids/grandkids.

Another polite word for Obama would be "conflicted", but I think it's worse than that. He has a built-in bias for the Islamists versus the United States and Israel. Obama would agree with the old Communist and Nazi propaganda that Israel is just as racist as the old apartheid South Africa. Obama is no doubt aware of the fact that the the Palestinians, the various terrorist groups, and terror sponsoring states such as Iran are on the same page and have the same major goals: eradication of Israel and extermination of all Jews. Obama is not naive; he is a willing ally, giving aid and comfort to the terrorists.
Equally disturbing is his willingness to unilaterally weaken our nuclear defense, while Russia promises Venezuela help in developing nuclear weapons.
Naive, conflicted, or treacherous?

Because S.L., we Jews are like the "canary in the coalmine" - same goes for the gypsies - when we get holocausted, soon others will be too, see Soviet Union, China, Cambodia, Uganda, just a few months ago we had a mini-holocaust in Sri Lanka, 300,000 people disappeared, o well, no one cares, you didn't hear any politicans express their concerns...
S.L. Toddard| 4.6.10 @ 3:58PM

OK. Then could you explain that one for us? How would "the demise of Israel" mean "the end of freedom" in, say, Oklahoma? Draw that slippery slope for me - Israel meets its demise, X happens, and as a result, Oklahomans are no longer free.
What is X?
serge baruch| 4.6.10 @ 3:37AM
Though I follow discussions on TAS only from time to time, I didn't fail to notice that it's almost totally impossible to explain anything to you, Mr. Toddard. You keep to your preconcieved ideas and the party line no matter what.

How do I come to this conclusion, let's see, bows before heads of states deserving nothing but a bullet to their heads for their treatment of their own people, sending the hilda-beast around the world chasing a dream of equality, redistribution, and murder, (funding abortions in turd worlds) lending to the support of all marxist of this world by siding with the enemies of this country, so much for that part of his sworn oath to "defend" this country or the Constitution. I could go on, but I suspect this crowd here understands all too much of what I am talking of.
Now to this article, appeasement never, never works. The history of this fact proves beyond any shadow of (anyone's historical knowledge) a doubt, and it will not work in this time. The most dangerous of these evil people respect strenght and resolve rather than appeasement and girleymen in pimp suits. More and more on a daily basis I am to believe this usurper-n-theif is a fake. He is a known liar, a theif to the concept of liberty, freedom and personal choices. I believe my nine year old grandson knows more about the truth of this country's history than this fool does. and the scarey part, he's got the keys to the financial markets, projects the power of these United States, and his hands on the most destructive devices this world has ever known, nuclear weapons. And I am suppose to think he has our best interest at heart. I'd rather swallow a handful of razor-blades and take my chances other than to think or "feel" he's interested in my family, my friends, and neighbors safety. BO's paternal grandfather was a Muslim in Kenya, his father was a Communist(PHD Harvard graduate) and his teen mentor was a black Communist from Chicago, living in Hawaii, and a friend of his grandfather. His mother graduated from a leftist/communist leaning HS in WA; she was an atheist and her 2nd husband was a Muslim. Then BO attended a Black Liberation Theology church in Chicago for 20 years ; which preaches Marxist philosophy and blames the US for all blacks' problems. Oprah attended this church briefly in the mid-90's and soon left. Bottom line.....had the media exercised their professional responsibility, the truth about Obama would've been revealed. Since they never cared to vet him or challenge him, their printed propaganda is responsible for this leader. Honestly, how could any American expect him to understand the America we love? How could we expect him to share our values and our shared history or sense of community? He grew up dramatically different than the vast majority in the US. His vision for the US is not ours.

His Father was a MUSLIM. His Step Father was a MUSLIM. His Mother converted to ISLAM. (Am I going too fast?) He was 'BROUGHT UP" in KENYA and INDONESIA. He attended MADRASSA. That's where they teach you: "Look out! There's a JEW behind that rock. KILL HIM!" Everybody knows that. He knelt on his PRAYER RUG, facing MECCA, 5 times a day, and prayed to ALLAH. These are FACTS!
"Oh, but he belonged to a 'Church'."
Really? What 'Christian' Church gives out Lifetime Achievement Awards to RACIST, BIGOTED, ANTI-SEMITE - Louis Farrakhan? What 'Christian' Church gives out Lifetime Achievement Awards to the Leader of THE NATION OF ISLAM? Or goes to visit KADAFFI?
This MUSLIM in sheeps' clothing knows EXACTLY what he's doing. READ HIS STUPID BOOKS. When the obama hits the fan, between the ARABS and the JEWS, he's "Siding with the ARABS".

In accordance with the Sharia (Islamic Law) if she didn't convert her two Mahomedan husbands wouldn't be able to marry her. If in the USA it could be somehow avoided through a civil marriage, in Indonesia her marriage wouldn't be recognized, and thus not only her children wouldn't be allowed to attend mosque and medresse, but she would be stoned to death for adultery.

Fox News has reason not to be involved in this discussion. By the way, Fox News has a Saudi Prince as one of major shareholders. Always keep it in mind. Glenn told us to ask question with boldness. So, follow Glenn and ask with boldness for Obama birth certificate. This is absolutely legitimate issue.
JT Davenport| 4.8.10 @ 12:57PM
Timothy, YES, you are right. Why else would he be doing what he has been doing. Why else would William Ayers have taken the time to groom him? Why would George Soros have bothered to give money to his campaign? Why would the Saudi King have done the same? Why would BARAK INSANE OBAMA have bowed to the King of the Saudis? Why would he have consistently gone SOFT on those in control of Iran? Why would he have turned against Israel?
Why has he sold out the United States? Why has he and his administration attempted to destroy our currency and bankrupt this nation?
The answer to ALL of these questions is really very simple.
HE IS A COMMUNIST AND A MUSLIM. For those who need ANY proof, just look at what he has said and, at what he has done.
We will most likely see one or more of these things I'll next talk about come to pass.
1. A CONSTITUTIONAL CONVENTION where it will require 34 states to just convene one and 38 states to ratify anything agreed upon. By this method, the states CAN override ANY law our government legislates into being.
2. TEXAS seceeding from the UNION followed by a LARGE number of other states.
3. Outright CIVIL WAR due to TAXATION and LEGISLATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION.
Remember, we fought a war against Great Britain
over just these same reasons. And, the South seceeded from the Union because the North was trying to tell Southerners how to conduct their business.
These are the same things we fought over then and, we just might fight over them again.
The French people fought against those who held power in France because those in control were unresponsive to what the " PEOPLE " wanted and really needed. This led to the invention of MADAME GUILLOTINE, whose " KISS " was most final. We might see something of the same happen here, who knows?!!!
Next: Let me say this ... Communism and Fascism are but TWO SIDES of the same coin. In Communism, those in control seek to take from the RICH and WEALTHY ( sound familiar ?? ) and give it to the poor. By this method those in power seek to control the citizens of a nation. In Fascism, those in control simply seek to take from citizen of a nation for the exclusive benefit of those who are in control of that nation. This is what happened in Germany under the NAZIS. The word NAZI is a shortened form of the German word NATZIONAL which means NATIONAL. The party HITLER formed was the NATZIONAL SOCIALISTE party or, simply called the NAZIs. They were FASCISTS. This word FASCIST comes from the LATIN (ROMAN) word for the sticks the Romans beat their SLAVES with. If you look on the back of some of our coins, you will see what looks like a battle axe with a bundle of sticks wrapped around it. These sticks are Fasces and, the AXE and bundle of Fasces is an old Roman symbol of power and control. And, now you know. ------ JT ------

You give Mr. Obama too much credit. UN sanctions are NOT designed to induce Iran to abandon its program; they are designed to induce America not to take serious sanction steps or strike Iran's nuclear facilities, and to induce voters to think Obama is serious about stopping Iran. Their weakness may well induce Israel to strike Iran, despite Obama's opposition.

"Don't we understand that there may be hundreds if not thousands off "sleepers" imbedded all across our country...waiting for their orders for a coordinated rash of terrorist acts?"
Be a boy scout, folks. Be prepared for the worst, and hopefully we can all laugh at ourselves down the road for being "silly".

What exactly is the threat to the U.S. from Iran?
1FreeMan| 4.5.10 @ 10:15AM
Sorry, "ExCon", don't see how you missed it but let me help you. Read slowly so you have a better chance of understanding:
1) Iran trains Jihaddists to attack the USA.
2) Iran trains, supplies and deploys personnel who are members of the Taliban. THOSE guys attack women, children and, oh yes, American Soldiers.
3) Iran's president publically expressed his belief in a scorched earth where most of the world population die in a nuclear furnace leaving only the devout muslims to worship Allah.
4) No one, but perhaps you, believes they only want nuclear power to generate electricity. They want a Nuclear weapon to attack Israel and the USA. Do you have children that can absorb massive amounts of radiation?
5) Known terrorist plots right here in the USA have been foiled by the FBI. THOSE guys trained in Irainial supported training camps.
6) Global destabilization, AKA Muslim Jihad waged from camps paid for and equipped by Iran, threatens an already weakened global economy.
Please get a clue.
You embarrass yourself.

1FreeMan, I have little doubt that Iran wants nuclear weapons. Why wouldn't they? They immediately make you a player on the world stage, and they up the ante considerably for anyone considering attacking you. But it is an incredible leap to say they want nukes so they can offensively use them to attack Israel and the US. First, when did Israel become the 51st state? Did I miss something? The purpose of the US military is to protect the US, not any other country. Second, how would Iran deliver a nuke to the US? By sub? By long range bomber? By ICBM? Again, did I miss something? Do you know something about Iran's military capabilities that I don't? And why would they do so knowing that they would immediately be wiped off the face of the earth in retaliation.
"Iran trains, supplies and deploys personnel who are members of the Taliban."
Are you sure about that? Iran is Shiite and the Taliban is Sunni. Iran did not formally recognize the Taliban government and aided their enemy the Northern Alliance. Our ally Saudi Arabi supported them financially however. You want to bomb Saudi Arabia also?
"Iran's president publically expressed his belief in a scorched earth where most of the world population die in a nuclear furnace leaving only the devout muslims to worship Allah."
Citation please. If you are referring to the disputed translation of Ahmadinejad's "wiped of the map" comment, then even if that comment is taken at its worst meaning, what you wrote is gross hyperbole.
But I am sure you know what you are talking about since you said you can "prove every word." Well have at it.
Tomas| 4.5.10 @ 5:43PM
Red:
It is not an "incredible leap" to assume Iran wants to use nuclear weapons to attack Israel and the US. Granted, Sunnis hate Shiites, and Muslim on Muslim terrorist crime is rampant... everywhere (this is fighting the Near Enemy). That is a function of the split in Islam after Mohammad's death. Nothing will change that.
However, the war against anyone who doesn't believe Islam is a very real thing, invoked by the Koran. The West is the Far Enemy, and the only reason Jihadists have not been more successful in their attacks on us is their conspicuousness in our culture.
Iran is as committed to the destruction of the West as any other radical Muslin State. Granted, we are turning a blind eye to Saudi Arabia, and other states, like Syria are more open in their vehemence, but don't use that argument to prove an "unfair" bias towards Iran.
The clerics in Iran believe that the Mahdi will return - look it up - and that his coming will be preceded by global apocalypse. Ahmadinijahd has made it very clear that Iran wants to trigger that apocalypse through the use of first-strike nuclear weapons - he has said so publicly.
Israel is no more the 51st state than Hawaii is the 57th.... It is, however, a hugely strategic ally and we have pledged a morally justifiable relationship with them that guarantees our complete assistance in their defense. The "statehood" of Israel is irrelevance. If we had your attitude leading up to our involvement in WW II, Hitler would have succeeded through our pacifism.
Protecting the US includes protecting our allies. It's the domino theory. It's real (just ask any of the former Soviet Bloc countries).
How will Iran deliver their nuclear weapon to the US? If you think large-scale weaponry is the only de-facto way of delivering a weapon you really haven't been paying attention.
According to long-standing Islamic teaching, Islam will one day be the only world religion and Sharia law the only justice (look what's happening in Europe). All Muslims want this goal achieved, but not all use the same methods. Jihadists believe the Koran teaches that the propagation of Islam must come about by the sword (it does).
However means they wish to accomplish this, don't doubt for a minute that it IS their goal...

Like Mr. Carter and Mr. Chamberlain before him, Mr. Obama is learning that appeasement never succeeds and there will always be very dangerous people who have no interest in reasonable discussion or commercial intercourse; just power. The current leaders of Iran think they can sustain their power by seeking to destroy Israel and while they may succeed in that quest, it will come at a cost of everything they hold dear. In the end, the coming war between Israel and Iran is a can't lose for Mr. Obama. If Israel wins he can be safe with the Jewish vote at home. If only it was mere naiveté then, perhaps he could be educated regarding the truth. Instead, it’s much worse than that. Obama’s attitude and behavior in terms of real and symbolic diplomatic and foreign policy gestures are the result of an upbringing in a dysfunctional family, without a father to speak of, living much of his life outside the mainland of America and the poisonous influence of “mentors” like his communist tutor “Frank” Marshall Davis (“his old Black Power dashiki self,” according to the young Barack), the left-wing indoctrination he received at university, his hate-filled preacher and the low-life, former terrorists, Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn who launched his political career.
Is it any wonder he has such a twisted view of this country and its contribution to the betterment of mankind? Is it any wonder that he sees its decline as progress? His treatment of our white-oppressor, Zionist (in his obvious opinion) soon-to-be-erstwhile allies and friends is as predictable as the tax increases, the Iranian bomb and the global instability to come.
The biggest threat to peace is not American “adventurism” or a “cowboy attitude” which the Left ascribed to G.W. Bush but rather feckless American “leadership.” The “educated class” in the Left will deny the facts forever in their lust for power and the “uneducated class” who elected Obama will deny it as well because they simply don’t know any better but, as in the case of Roosevelt’s ill-advised “negotiations” with the Japanese even as the latter’s carriers were moving towards Pearl Harbor, the Democrat Congress’ defunding of the South Vietnamese in 1975, Carter’s retreat in the face of the Russians leading to not one but two conflicts in Afghanistan, not to mention the now inevitable rise of a nuclear-armed Iran, Bush the Elder’s diplomat essentially giving the go-ahead to Saddam Hussein to invade Kuwait and Clinton’s Somalia pull-out which led Bin Laden to view Americans as weak all led to war and human suffering which could very well have been avoided had these “leaders” shown strength instead of weakness.
Can Obama’s “foreign policy” lead us to any other outcome?

So military assistance to Israel is good, not in the first place for the economy. But since there are so many private companies involved in the arms industry... you, as a principled anti-Keynesian, should be satisfied when some of the tax money return to them.

Alright all you big talkers on Iran. It is one thing to verbally saber rattle and call Obama a coward or appeaser or whatever? But it is another thing to actually advocate some sort of plan. So keyboard warriors, what exactly are you suggesting? Stronger sanctions first? Proceeding directly to bombing? Would you bomb only potential nuclear sites or more, like command and control? If you only want to preemptively bomb their potential nuke sites, how do you keep the conflict with Iran from spilling over into Iraq? Would you commence an Iraq style invasion of Iran right away? You do realize we are already fighting two wars and are overextended as it is? You also do realize we are broke? Do you wind down Iraq so you can attack Iran? Do you reinstitute the draft? Do you raise taxes to pay for it? Let’s hear your brilliant plan to back up your big talk.
Al Adab| 4.5.10 @ 4:11PM
A couple of responses come readily to mind. First: can you spell thermobaric? Second: There exists a unit in the U.S. military known as the 82nd or alternatively the 101st Airborne. A fast drop of say 10,000 troops on the Natanz facility could do the job within a couple hours and be withdrawn once the facility is dismantled.
Since the Iran "conflict" is already in Iraq your argument there is specious. No need to invade Iran just as there was no need to remain in Iraq for this long. Nationbuilding is a Wilsonian concept, not a military one. Sanctions have never worked, ask Napoleon.

Al Adab| 4.5.10 @ 5:30PM
No one is suggesting action would be "consequence free". The simple fact is that inaction carries greater consequences. The cost in lives and treasure would be immeasurably more. A million dead in Las Vegas or Houston or New York or LA. for example. What follow up to that do you suggest?
As to Israel, why do we expect them to do our dirty work?
Red Phillips | 4.5.10 @ 11:19PM
"A million dead in Las Vegas..."
AA, perhaps you should answer the question about how Iran would deliver a nuke to the US. Sub? Long range bomber? ICBM? Newsflash. They don't have any of those things. But I know. I know. They would give the nuke to a terrorist to deliver. Of course no foreign policy expert other than neocon shills thinks that scenario is even remotely plausible, but why go with expert opinion when you can instead rely of Chicken Little fear monger scenarios? To jump from Iran gets a nuke to New York goes up under a mushroom cloud is an incredible leap, but you seem to just reflexively assume it. Perhaps before you commit us to war, you should assess the actual threat.
And no one is suggesting that Israel should do our dirty work. They are suggesting that we should do Israel's dirty work. As we are constantly reminded, Iran is a potential existential threat to Israel, not the US.
S.L. Toddard| 4.6.10 @ 8:22PM

Couple things to keep in mind, folks: There is no such thing as a "small government" that can lead, rule over and police the entire globe. One may advocate small government conservatism, or one may argue that the U.S. federal government should be so unimaginably massive that it can dominate the entire planet - but one categorically can not do both.
One may argue that terrorism is such a profound threat that we must wage multiple, perpetual wars, or one may argue that the terrorist threat is so insignificant that we can leave our southern border wide open for anyone to stream across - but one categorically can not do both.

First before any attack you warn Israel that in X hours war is going to start. Second you redirect our carrier battle groups into position. Third you launch air strikes and missiles at the nuclear sites. While the missiles are flying you offer to stand down if Iran doesn't respond. The minute they start to mobilizing you launch the second wave at their air fields and republican guard. Around this time the bombers that were launced should be in position to rain down bombs. You take out their army then you redirect military units in afganistan and iraq to guard the iranian border. Meanwhile back home you get congress to authorize the doubling the size of the army and navy. Ramp up production of arms and increase ship building and you start to pull the economy out of recession. Permamently re-activate reserve units, authorize a promotion plan to bring inactive military back to active duty, re-class some jobs so that injured military can take over, authorize a serve for pardon or other prison program, and re-deploy units from europe to asia. This gives you a large base to draw new recruits from and experience. It relieves pressure on the current resources while maintaining protection for the country. Bottle up Iran and let the population finish the administration. Make it clear that we don't want to enter Iran and don't want to continue the war but are prepared to if neccessary
Red Phillips | 4.5.10 @ 5:16PM
Well Robert, I have to hand it too you. At least you have a plan. First of all, Keynes would be very proud of you. If you think we can drag the economy out of recession by debt, then I suppose you supported Obama’s stimulus bill.

Are you guys all serious? There are maybe half-a-dozen intelligent posts, and 5-6 times that many idiotic posts. Don't you realize this is why nobody takes you wingers seriously? You spout off absurd nonsense, half of which you probably picked up watching some crack-pot demagogue like Beck. If you are really concerned about the direction of the country, try presenting coherent, rational arguments instead of rants like "Oh my God!! The secret Muslim radical communist President is going to steal and eat my children!!"
Joe Doakes| 4.5.10 @ 4:27PM
Rivenspeak . . . he will eat the willing first, that will be the Democrats in Congress and the Senate and whole bunch of down the ballot offices. We now know what the Democrat Party stands for; Communism. We've had enough of you and him.
Rivenspeak| 4.5.10 @ 4:32PM
See...that wasn't rational, and was barely coherent.
Honestly, I've had enough of rabid, frothing-at-the-mouth, right-wing nut jobs, who frankly, sound like a bunch of 3-year-olds having a temper tantrum because they aren't getting their way. Why don't you just leave our country and go move to Costa Rica with Rush?
Joe Doakes| 4.5.10 @ 5:04PM
Rivenspeak . . . Taking Mr. Limbaugh out of context will not win you an argument. We like this country the way it was founded, you are welcome to move to Europe or Vermont. Maybe you can find a pedophile for a roommate in Vermont to save on rent?

Hmm, interesting. Did Rush actually say he wanted to move to Costa Rica. I was just having a conversation with my uncle this afternoon where we were talking about this. I will not actually agree with what Rush may or may not have said as I haven't read his comments, as is obvious. I would like to poiunt out that, though the last part of Joe Doakes comment was a bit vitrolic, and that you may not agree with any of it, the first part, about eating the willing first, was completely rational, regardless of whether you or I agree with it.
I offer no opinion on whether the country will suffer first or the Party. I believe a bit of both is likely and both the country and Democratic Party will both suffer.. the country economically and in terms of foreign affairs, then the party during the next cycle of elections. I find this unfortunate because, as a Libertarian, I firmly believe, as our founders did, that the government has no place in the lives of the citizenry except in necessity, and that necessity, depth, length, and breadth of the involvement of government should be limited not by the will of the people.
Then again, I also believe in wacko ideas like a 2-term per house limit on congress. I understand that full-time politicians may be necessary today, unlike the part-time politicians who worked real jobs 9 months a year during the 19th century, but it should be SERVICE to go to Washington, not reward. Oh, and let's have a pay cap at 100,000 a year for both houses.. maybe 125k for the Speaker and President of the Senate (not the majority leader). I'm even willing to go to 150k for the President.
Joe Doakes| 4.6.10 @ 9:33AM
Hmmm; I'm with you on term limits but the pay needs to be tied to success. That is, the more the feds reduce the federal register and the debt, the more they get paid. We are both discussing a pipe dream this is going to get very ugly, friend of a friend works in the security establishment, stockpiling all sorts of nutso stuff. If the next election does not provide a real check on Obama - he is heading for the hills.

The Israel supporters are looking for new ways to game the system. They're out of tricks. Definitely the mother of all welfare queens. About time it stands on its own two feet. Save a few folks here and there, no one cares about Israel. The Israeli State is looking more and more like another crusades adventure gone awry. It'll go the way of the crusades and no big whoop. As a life long conservative, I say Obama is doing great vis a vis Israel. James Baker and Poppy Bush approve big-time as well. OK, so BHO is weak on Foreign Policy and apparently has trouble distinguishing the right time to use his intellect and charisma (bowing to the Saudis) and when to wield his Leftist elitism (snubbing Netanyahu). But the real question is WHEN will the leader of the Free World start to actually look out for American interests both overseas and at home (which by the way includes a secure DEMOCRATIC Israel).
Overseas -- SUPPORT for our troops...kiddies I have been in the BAD Zones overseas and the picture on the ground is NOT pretty. Our guys are fighting a drawn out battle plan in Afghanistan because our Commander in Chief has given the enemy our timetable for surrender (uh, I mean withdrawal, or uh whatever...). STRONG deliberate action and HEAVY weapons with swift surgical (Tactical NUCLEAR if necessary)strikes in the right places (Tora Bora for example) would show; a) our resolve to defend freedom, b) our resolve to do WHATEVER it takes to achieve victory, and c) our commitment to a stable Middle East. The UN will scream foul, the Liberal Elite establishment will shed tears for the poor desolate mountain goats (and in some cases people) that were sacrificed at the alter of American Imperialism, but at the end of the day...the TERRORIST SUPPORTING governments of the world will take notice and re-examine whether or not they want to F#%k with the USA.
At Home -- Bailouts DO NOT work. I have been current with my mortgage (ARM) and the bank still raised my rates and payments the first chance they got...so much for supporting those of us ABLE to support the economy. OK, so to fix the US, we should immediately open the State borders for health insurers to compete on a level (regulated) playing field. We need to Encourage inter-state trade to strengthen the Union (T. Jefferson 1785 or so), and immediately look for resources within the US....drill baby drill (not offshore, on shore in Alaska and ONLY allow drilling rights to companies with a commitment to research in Alternative fuel sources).
Immigration reform is not so difficult either...illegals will be deported to CANADA in the middle of winter and this will; a) teach the Canadians that an open border policy isnt the best idea, and b) remind the Mexicans that entry into the US can be hazardous to your health and friggin cold too.
Welfare reform -- establish a child-care training program in each established welfare zone which provides FREE childcare to welfare moms that go to work...McDonalds is ALWAYS hiring. After an established time they will be weaned form welfare and be free to pay for there own way in the world..the American Dream. Also I would make the housing available for PURCHASE. Experiements in several countries including Singapore have shown that if lower income families are encouraged to purchase their housing they tend to protect and respect the area in which they live. Now this isnt a Freddie/Fannie F-up program I am creating..it is a true form program where they are employed and subsidized by Fed funding that DIRECTLY pays for their housing thus eliminating defaults and foreclosures. The details we can discuss at a later date. As they grow and develop they move into higher and better housing until they are tax-paying and self supported citizens.
BHO should look at long tern centralist solutions as opposed to the elitist (Socialist) ones from which he apparently gains his core constituency.
We are and can once again prove the greatest DEMOCRACY in the World....
Finally, Perry/Pawlenty '12,a ticket we can all believe in!!!!!!!!!!!

Ben Stein - You should disclose your conflict of interest in your article. Are you not Jewish? Do you not owe your first allegiance to your religious homeland and your second allegiance to your political homeland, the U.S.? Israel and the U.S. have conflicts of interest when it comes to dealing with Palestine and Iran. The U.S. has extended the protection of our nuclear umbrella over Israel, and all we want in return is a stop of building of settlements in one part of Jerusalem so that we can unite the surrounding Muslim countries against Iran. We don't even demand peace - just peace talks. We are giving far more than we are taking from Israel, and all with the focus on containing Iran. I don't want to go to war to defend an Israel that spits in our eyes and cannot accommodate simple requests. Your view on who is at fault over this recent political hiccup depends entirely on whether you are Jewish or not. As for me, I am an American first, and I do not see risking our necks for a country that spits in our face (but only after accepting billions in our foreign "aid") and actively undermines our efforts to defend them.

Appeasement has NEVER worked. Let's see, when the Romans tried to "appease" Attila the Hun, did that work? Nope, Rome was sacked and the Romans continued to live in fear and were slaughtered by the thousands. When Neville Chamberlain tried to "appease" Hitler, did that work? Nope, the world continued to live in fear and millions upon millions of innocent lives were lost because of "appeasement".
These are just two examples of a very long list of examples of where "appeasement" doesn't work. Obama and everyone who agrees with him are fools. Or worse...

Apparently Greg you need to re-read what I wrote...I am advocating winning the war..not pussy-footing for settlement like Chamberlin and Obama...as for demogogary 70 yrs ago..you do realize that you advocated BOTH sides fo the coin right, or do you need a dictionary?
In 1945 Truman looked at whether dropping the BOMB was worth 1 million AMerican lives...he made the choice to end the war once and for all...I am NOT advocating the use of Nukes, I am suggesting that you fight a war to VICTORY not defeat, and that the ara of Tora Bora is a wasteland where tactical nukes would be ideal..in fact the Joint Chiefs (Pentagon Report March 2002) also stated that the ONLY way to gain a total victory over Al Quada in Afghanistan would be to use tactical nukes in Tora Bora when we had the intel Bin Laden was there.
As for the achievment of TOYTAL VICTORY bringing peace...look at the historical record.

Let me add that I vehemently disagree with the racist comments made by some. My issue is only with what appears to be this President's penchant for appeasing terrorist supporting states like Iran. He's a fool, or worse, if he actually believes that publicly whipping Israel while kowtowing to rogue regimes will bring peace to the region. It will only make matters far worse and could lead to armed conflict in the region. With Israel in possession of nuclear arms and the fact that they're a very tiny state, if they feel threatened by Iran with nuclear arms I fear they won't hesitate to turn Tehran in to a glass parking lot. That is something we all have to understand can and will occur if Obama stays on his current path of appeasement with the Iranians.
MSE| 4.5.10 @ 6:33PM
Greg - google attila the hun and learn some history. You sound like an idiot when you spout off based on ignorance. This is what 2 seconds on google found for me:
"From his base in what is now Hungary, Attila, king of the Huns, waged war against the Roman Empire in the middle of the 5th century with such ferocity his reputation as the "Scourge of God" continues to this day. He shared power with his brother, Bleda, for a dozen years, but after 445 Attila was the sole commander of a force that extended from the Rhine to the Caspian and the western edges of China. He defeated Emperor Theodosius, almost overran Constantinople and invaded Gaul, where he was turned back by Roman commander Flavius Aetius and Visigoth king Theodoric in 451. Attila then invaded Italy in 452 and headed toward Rome. But Pope Leo I and Attila reached some agreement -- a deal based on extortion, divine intervention or simple pragmatism, it's hard to say -- that kept the Huns from sacking Rome. Attila died the next year and the empire he built crumbled within a generation."
Idiots like you should never breed.

I dont know about you, Greg, but I have been on the ground in that region and I'd rather have an Israeli watching my back over a Leftist like you any day. Mr Stein's observations are correct. What's even more troubling to me is after just finishing "Intellectuals and Society" by Thomas Sowell, our president is repeating many of the statements made by the pacifists as well as acting on his statements. It is true, appeasement does nothing to bullies but emboldens them. Iran and its current crop of leaders are bullies. What's interesting is they have been on message for many years, i.e. they've done what they've said they will do. One way to judge is to see if the words match the actions - if they do, fear what they say as it is a good indicator of what they will do. If their words don't match their actions, fear what they do and disregard their words (our president is a good example of this - at least when he's pandering to the general audience and not the more liberal aspects - what he told audiences he considered 'of his beliefs' is what he is doing - what he tells the general audience has been shown to lie after lie after lie).
I am amazed at how quickly my country is going down the tubes. I never imagined seeing anything like this in my lifetime. This is what one reads about in history books as a lesson - not what one would hope to experience personally for a lesson.
Tim Buck II| 4.6.10 @ 7:02AM
There's not a thing - nothing - that Obama is doing that could not have been predicted before the '08 election.
Yes. He will spend us into bankruptcy. Yes. We will lose in Afghanistan. Yes. He thinks he can "negotiate without preconditions" with Iran - and yes, that process swill result in disaster. Yes. He announced last night that if we sustain a chem/bio attack we will NOT respond with nukes!!! No. We won't develop any new nukes. The list goes on and on and on.
Just what you'd expect from a hard-core, very far left socialist/communist community orgainizer who spent two decades in Reverend Wright's church. Not one surprise in the bunch that I can think of.
The surprise is the average American voter: They are the ones who are naive.
And "naive" is one the kindest words one might use. Credulous and stupid also come to mind. Also, those same voters might also be described as broke, unemployed, standing in an endless line for healthcare and soon to be defeated abroad by the one man wrecking-ball they chose to elect.
What a collection of utter fools we have become.
Think they like us abroad because we elected Obama? We are the world's laughingstock - with very good reason.

Our situation is much worse than anybody here think it is. Abu Hussein from Kenya, our Community Organizer-in-Chief, has his system of local soviets in place, organized and financed (ACORN, SEIU, teacher and government employee unions). His corps of White House advisers tells the departments what to do; ther are called czars but I think a more appropriate name for them is komissars. After nationalizing health care we will have 40% of population on the dole; with the coming amnesty of illegal aliens that percentage will go up to 50% - and that assures them of perpetual power. Automobile industry is already 50% nationalized, so are some banks and mortgage companies. Cap & trade scam will lead to nationalization of oil & gas companies, coal mines, and electricity companies. This marxist train is gathering speed and I do not see any remedy. Their political tactics is straight from the soviet manual - demonize the enemy, us.

Oh, by the way, our "Muslim Allies" complained to the Big O about the airport security policy which would target travellers from certain terroist targeted countries (Islamic) so O changed the policy- talk about "appeasement"! Instead, he has instituted a 'personality profile' model to harrass American travellers at US airports...get this...his dept of state visa issuance program is less stringent today than it was on september 10, 2001!!!!!!!! so he is big fat liar and manipulator and noone can stop him and his crowed (napolitano sec of homeland security: can you believe this????????????)? evil in sheep's clothing.
You know, politically correctness over safety and security of the American people... wake up, folks.
skyblu5555| 4.6.10 @ 4:36PM
Sorry, clarification:
1. Obama has done zilch to tighten up the Dept of State visa issuance program... in fact, the visa waiver program of yore remains in effect...travel agencies in Jiddah issue visas to whoever wants them...O has done nothing to reduce the threat to American air travelers to threats from the likes of the Nigerian underwear bomber in spite of what O states...NOTHING...
2. When Obama was about to institute new anti terror measures at airports in the US in the form of targeting travelers to and from countries on the list of 'terrorist' nations, our Muslim 'allies' (right!) belly ached so instead of this program O has instituted a 'personality profiling' program at US airports instead to 'target' potential threats to the USA, i.e. to harrass Americans and look like they are doing something....
3. Everyone on this blog is correct about Emperor Obama...in action and deed, Obama is about Obama, not America and so are his cronies and his lobbyist and elite packed Administration, and that is the horrible tragedy of this nightmare administration...it considers not the will of the American people nor does he care to reach consensus with the American people~ he PRETENDS to care...which is even worse! He is a big fat fraud.
He is a condescending, narcissistic anti American divisive polarizing destructive man to inhabit 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue in at least seventy years. There is no certainty, no economic growth, no tranquility in Americ nor will their be any for many, many years to come.

Well, I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Professor Obama is the wrath of God visited upon the Americano landscape. He destroyed the Clinton machine (good), and now he proposes to destroy the American dream (bad). So now he serves as God's warming to the Americanos: unless you get your house in order, THIS is your future. Which is to say, much of the past 50 years will become ALL of the next 50 years and beyond: a slave state created by a pseudo-black man whose half-ancestors from east Africa were never slaves. His other half-ancestors were hippie narcissists, and THAT is where he is coming from.
As the wicked Assyrians brought the wrath of God to the degenerate Israelites, so the wicked Obamanites now bring the wrath of God upon the degenerate Americanos.
Yet there is still time, and if the Obamanites are defeated, future generations of Americanos will recollect the Carter-Clinton-Obama axis as a wake-up call to the Americano Spirit, a stirring of the Sleeping Giant: in short, a Reckoning!
I plumb reckon.

Operation Ajax.
"The 1953 Iranian coup d’état, on August 19, 1953 (and called the 28 Mordad coup d'état in Iran), was the overthrow of the democratically-elected government of Iranian Prime Minister Mohammad Mosaddegh by the United States Central Intelligence Agency; [1] The crushing of Iran's first democratic government launched 25 years of dictatorship under Mohammad-Rezā Shāh Pahlavi, who relied heavily on U.S. weapons to hold on to power until he was overthrown in February 1979.[2] "For many Iranians, the coup demonstrated duplicity by the United States, which presented itself as a defender of freedom but did not hesitate to use underhanded methods to overthrow a democratically elected government to suit its own economic and strategic interests," the Agence France-Presse reported. - Wiki
We sow what we reap - had Iran been allowed to grow its democracy then things may have been very different today.
Sadly America, like Britian doesn't believe in freedom and democracy - just corporate interests.
Iran like China (no more Opium Wars) have learnt their lessons well, and are organising themselves accordingly. They have learnt to never trust the West - for western democracies have built their prosperity on the blood, sweat and tears of black, brown and yellow people, justified in the belief that our Christian values are far superior to those we rape, murder and make homeless; we are still at it.
We reap what we sow.
Unfortunately the game is up for America, for when America points the finger the rest of the world says hypocrite.
We reap what we sow.
Think about it.

This is what happens when an undeclared muslim is running the free world. And when the MSM is dead. We have no safety net as this man plays jujitsu with the truth. Too many big examples already.

There are those who are not going to believe Obama is a muslim until he comes out and finally says it, if then. He admitted to George S. on This Week that he is a muslim, which George was quick to correct. He did not participate in the National Day of Prayer but participated in a similar muslim event. He said that the muslim call to prayer is the most beautiful thing he's ever heard. He's done absolutely everything to announce that he's a muslim, buy some people just refuse to see it. A lot of Jews in Germany refused to see the truth about Hitler until it was too late. Refusing to see the truth doesn't mean it's not the truth.

LJ| 4.8.10 @ 11:55AM
Unfortunately, Obama is bowing to his masters. Any claims of his that he is a Christian are false and only there to lie to and mislead the voters. Remember the Bible passage: Proverbs 22:6 - "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it." And that is EXACTLY what Obama is doing by his anti-Israel stance because he was brought up and raised a MUSLIM! Islam is his religion--proof: he strikes out from government documents and mention of Islamic Extremists or Islamic Fundamentalist terrorists-you get the point. And if you want further proof, WHY did Obama, if he is a "Christian" as he professes to be, have any and all objects and references to the Christian faith covered when he gave a speech at a University last year. I cannot remember the name, but it DID occur. Google it!
Obama is trying to eradicate Christianity from the United States and is strictly prohibited from doing so by the 1st amendment to the Constitution: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the exercise thereof..." He cannot even remotely try to dismantle or criminalize Christians in favor of Islam because of the preceding clause. Although he has, to date, made no laws "respecting Islam", he sure is going to try. He has to abide by this Constitution or he is a traitor and deserves what all traitors to this country get. And this brings me the the 2nd part of the clause: "or PROHIBITING the exercise thereof." He is doing exactly that through his activist court appointees who have misinterpreted and twisted the meaning of the Constitution. Obama has others do his dirty work for him, he lacks the guts to do so himself.
Last, but not least, WATCH OUT as incumbent representatives and senators MOVE TO THE CENTER AND EMBRACE Constitutional vales with the heads in the noose in the upcoming November elections! DO NOT FALL for this age-old trick.

If contributions to jurisprudence are so important, please cite those from Ronald Reagan, George H. W. Bush, and George W. Bush (hint: none of these three were lawyers).
But since I never mentioned legal expertise (which, whatever his other failings, Obama clearly has), I wonder what is your point?
Or do you simply fall into category 3?
Occam49| 4.11.10 @ 11:47AM
"The man was the Editor of the Harvard Law Review, for crying out loud. "
Wow !!! editor of a school newspaper [a political position, by the way, since as a student he obviously had no record of experience or expertise to make a claim of competency , and is in fact voted into the position by the editors and staff of that "epitome" of "objective publication" ] , who apparently never wrote a single article, is by this previous position, somehow automatically bestowed supernatural powers of wisdom ... this is how how you support and justify Obama's decisions?
By this you show your self to be ignorant of the basics of logical debate, and have rendered your case invalid by invoking the use of the use of the logical fallacy of "Appeal to Authority".
Obama, like Alsinsky, counts morons like you to carry the water of propaganda.
Rational Person| 4.28.10 @ 5:49PM
Try to follow, Occam. Since you are a student of logic, this will be clear:
-Haha averred that Obama has no legal expertise, and cited as proof the absence of any law articles by Obama.
- I submitted that graduating with distinction from the best law school in America, as well as serving as the editor of the most respected law journal in the country, as well as serving as a constitutional law lecturer at an another prestigous law school, serve as substantial evidence of legal expertise.
- Comments that the Harvard Law Review is "a school newspaper," that the Editor of same is elected and therefore incompetent, or that unsigned articles (which are common in law reviews) reflect ignorance of the role of these publications in American jurisprudence.
- I never stipulated that Obama's legal qualifications validated his policies. I did not "appeal to a higher authority;" in fact, I repeatedly asked what those qualifications had to do with Haha's criticism of the President. That question has not been answered.
- Finally, I have not carried any water for Obama regarding his policies, and I have not disseminated any propoganda. Everthing I have written is verifiably true. You think that I am either a moron or a liar for writing these things; prove it.

Does President Obama really believe that making Israel give up building on a few acres in Jerusalem will change the mood of a terrorist state pledged to annihilate all of Israel -- and to do whatever it can to bring down "the Great Satan…" The United States of America?
No, and that's okay by him as that's not his goal. He's a taqyah-using stealth jihadi, working from the most powerful office inside the Great Satan to help his Islamic brothers in the Middle East in their quest to "drive all Jews into the sea" and take Israel for Islam. He can - no, he already has - withdrawn the USA's support from Israel; she's now without any protection America may have once provided her.
What? Did you think he was appointed - uh, I mean elected - POTUS to work for the US? Or to work against the US? None of the above. He's here to work against Israel and to provide America's assistance to the Islamic Middle East in taking Israel. That his power as POTUS opens up the oppty to take America for Islam, too, is just a bonus, icing on the cake that is Israel.
John| 4.10.10 @ 8:57AM
I'm sorry Mr Stein, you gotta be kidding. So you think any adult would beleive that stopping some building in Jerusalem (which by the way isn't recognized internationaly as Israel's capital) will solve everything in Middle East. This is just a first step for god's sake!
The fundamental thing you seem not to understand is that, nor US nor Israel alone can bring Iran's leaders to stop their provocations. On this, the free world needs the help of Russia and China. That's why Obama has to show good will.
You talked about the 30s. Well let me remind you that without the help of USA and URSS, the nazis would never have been beaten. France and UK went on by themselves and were crushed (france within 4 weeks). Indeed US isn't France, but do you really think the US can stop Iran with China and Russa saying no don't do that?

If Israel does not want our help with Patriot missle batteries, etc., they should just let us know. Obama is of course supporting Israel. But Israel also knows and take FULL advantage of the Jewish lobby in the US.

I HATE OBAMA *BECAUSE* I LOVE THE USA. Get it???

Sigh....
I feel it is good citizenship to respond to political nonsense when encountered, so:
- "Folks in the future, never invest your future in a man who wont disclose his past." Like G.W.Bush from ages 22 to 40? Obama's past is an open book; you just don't find the conspiracies there that you anticipate.
- "A transparency SHAM, a true bait and switch candidate, thanks MSM." I defy you to name one major policy (including Health Care reform, Cap-and-Trade, to TARP, Financial Regulation Reform, Tax Reform, and his posture in Afghanistan and Iraq) where Obama has significantly deviated from those policies he advocated as a candidate. Either you believe that (a) the American People are stupid and cannot understand policy positions, or (b) democracy does not work because people vote against their self-interest in favor of an appealing candidate. Which is it?
- "He was disbarred as a lawyer because on his application he failed to mention all his names." Obama was never disbarred.
- "He became President on the same omission didnt he?" No. See above.
- "This is not conjecture..." Correct. This is fiction.
- "...just spend half an hour for your country and read about obama/barry and what he has done with his life, where and who his benefactors are (um he didnt pay for Harvard as community organizer)." Name these malevolent benefactors who bankrolled Obama's education in the hopes that, two decades later, they could elevate him to the presidency. Ooh, those crafty, mysterious benefactors! Or perhaps he just took out student loans, which is what he actually said and was corroborated by his tax returns.
- "A central deception in muslim eternal war is deception..." A tautology - how novel.
-" and guess what - America you dont even know if your LEADER is an undeclared muslim do you??" You don't even know what has been denied!? If denied, it must be true!
- "Many many objective signs are that he is, like his own mouth at youtube, but this is taboo already, like cartoons to some.." Cartoons like Jeremiah Wright? Which is it: Black Liberation Theology Radical or Closet Muslim Creating the Caliphate? I get confused. If only there were a simple explanation (say, he is a moderate Christian who attends service infrequently), then it would explain all.
- "This little mystery here is the most important one to debunk or unravel in history. The free world kinda pivots on this. But very tough these days to be suspect of kool aid drinkers, thanks again MSM." This is the most important mystery in the history of the World? A man says he is Christian, attends a Church (that many hate), baptizes his daughters, swears the Oath of Office on a Bible, and, by the by, has a father of a different faith. This is an enigma for the ages? Buurp! (Koo;-aid coming back up).
- "So obama has the economy, polity, foreign affairs, he'll gut them all and is off to a flying start." Yes, the economy and foreign affairs were 100% perfect when he took office. Its not like the country was embroiled in two wars and enduring the greatest economic downturn since the Great Depression; its all Barry's fault.
- "He cares about nothing ask his brother, or Hilary, that's why narcissist are efficient." I don't know what to say to this; have you spoken to Obama's brother? Or to Hillary? Please, tell us of your insights into these relationships gleaned from your discussions...
- "However if anyone has any evidence to the contrary, or evidence of ANY accomplishment of obama (say before he was a campaigner), I would like to hear/see it please because this man is just a scary holograph." This is tiring. Haha, let me offer this: If you are a self-financed graduate of an Ivy League College and/or Law School, are a civil rights and/or corporate attorney; are a six term state senator; and/or are a United States Senator (for at least two years), then I will shut up and quit this thread.
Otherwise, your raving about Obama's experience comes off as inadequacy in your own.
- "Oh and please omit most insults except those really necessary so a fool skeptic can follow along, thanks." Okay, I think I got it: I am to include only those insults necessary for a fool skeptic to follow along. But in what ways can I insult you such that you increase your understanding? I am curious to learn...
Greg | 5.12.10 @ 5:28AM
The problem with Obama is he is an enigma. He's inscrutable. That tells me that even though he is the President of the United States he is simply saying what he has been told to say by his advisors. What do I mean by that? It's real simple, the Republocrats, the unelected elite who are never voted out of office, have an agenda: to promote global conflict in any way they can. So how do they do that? Well, Obama the liberal demagogue, the hero of the downtrodden non-white masses, tells them what they want to hear while the real America prepares for war against Iran. Sure, Ahmedinejad has it coming, but don't be at all deceived, Obama will achieve his purpose whether he believes in it or not. It is the price of attaining power: he has to do as he is told. Maybe along the way he will do some good as well: provide healthcare for the poor, and whatever else is calculated to buy votes in 2012, but when it comes time to bomb Iran he will step up to the plate and play the tough guy as Clinton and Bush did before him. Everything that comes before that is designed to lull the Islamo-fascists into a false sense of security. Talk diplomacy while preparing for war - exactly the MO Clinton employed before he bombed Serbia. Now Billary will be standing by while Obama does the same to Iran.
