The Nation's Pulse

Remember the Main

Who are the ruffians whose violence is suddenly so feared?

The Talmud tells of a scholar who was imprisoned by the Romans on two criminal counts, one for teaching the Bible and the other for conspiring in armed revolution. When the judge asked him for his plea, he responded in Aramaic: “I safra lav saifa, I saifa lav safra.” In English, keeping the alliteration, this could be rendered as: “If the word not the sword, if the sword not the word.”

This comes to mind when examining the campaign by Democrats to cast Republican backers as vendors of vitriol and violence. If one person called Representative Lewis a name — quietly enough to elude the ubiquitous journalistic microphones — or spat at Representative Cleaver or insulted Representative Frank, Democrats assert this reflects on Republican mores nationwide. Apparently the demonstrations against President Bush so admired by Pelosi and friends featured no such rambunctious utterances.

The question then arises: were we not told throughout the health-care debate that ordinary hard-working Americans needed the overhaul? That it was only opposed by insurance executives and those rich so filthy as to resist having their money laundered by taxation? The profile of the anti-reform opiner was assayed by your local Democrat fearlessly-fighting-for-the-little-guy Congressperson as two parts Casper Milquetoast and one part Bertie Wooster. This guy in the three-piece suit does not appreciate the travails panging the earnest laborer who struggles for his keep. We had to defend the have-naughts against the naughty-haves, the Three Little Pigs against the capitalist pig in the three-piece suit.

Who then are the ruffians whose violence is suddenly so feared? Surely insurance executives are not out there waving pickets and hurling epithets. Those earning a quarter-million a year are not spending their leisure time threatening politicians with bodily harm. Yachts are not swaying gently on their moorings while their owners stomp angrily through the alleyways of the nation’s capital. The two competing slanders of the Democrat party cancel each other: “If the cash not the crash, if the crash not the cash.”

THE TRUTH, AS IS EVER THE CASE, is the polar opposite of the propaganda. Almost everyone who backed the health-care reform was someone who was already covered. The aged had Medicare already, the poor had Medicaid, the children had SCHIP and the insane had SSI. The middle-class and those young enough to control their own destiny were the only ones who occasionally went without insurance, and they are almost unanimously opposed to this intrusion into their zone of volition.

The Democrats cannot afford to have this central truth known: the people they “helped” were the same people clamoring outside their offices. Please don’t save us, they begged, but the leftists are not dissuaded by uncooperative victims. It is the Stockholm Syndrome, no doubt, people so used to abuse they fight for its preservation.

This measure is opposed not by the violent, not by the moneyed, but by the little guy, the regular Joe, the guy who is ready to work hard, to navigate ups and downs, asking only to be assured no one removes the pot of gold before he can get done climbing the rainbow. This individual senses that the government by meeting him halfway has set up a roadblock barring his further progress. Equality of result can only be achieved by stealing opportunity from those of greater ambition.

Proving this contention, Rasmussen has issued a new poll in which respondents were asked if they feel closer to Tea Party members or to members of Congress. The Tea Party, which is not even a real party but a synecdoche for people who feel government is working counter to our interests, whipped Congress handily by a 20-point gap. Subtract people with political jobs from the poll and the Tea Party beats Congress by 62 to 12!!! In any other country, numbers like this would topple a sitting government.

All of this points out the fraudulence of the media pose offered by Democrats, and further highlights the utter gracelessness of Pelosi’s march through the protesters on the way to the “historic” vote. Who were these rearguard reactionaries who deserved a defiant slap in the face on the way to the forum? They were none other than the mainstay of our culture and industry, the middle class, the solid citizenry, the Men-on-the-Street. By walking arm-in-arm with Congressman Lewis Speaker Pelosi sought to demonize Main Street. No Wall Street, no Main Street, what is left? Obama says Easy Street; I suspect we shall see soon enough.

Yeah, easy street alright. I am an American, I payed these dues by defending her, her people and am suffering at the hands of those who wished her dead. Those who wish her dead are the very people who claim to represent her, they are frauds, and we know it. And now they know we know it.
The evilness of these people is so palletable that it reaks of fear coming from them. So they say what they are, how more clear can this be?
A new era is dawning in these United States. We the People have been destracted from the truth, the truth is We know who you are, why you are doing it, and this certifiable citizen, one cog in the We the People wheel has this to say to you. You will eat the dirt you have sown to destroy our lives, you will feel your self pain in one way or the other, your choice, not ours. We will just do what comes natural to a free peoples, fight you til our last breath. Don't believe it, keep pushing us down this road to serfdom, take your chances, I double dare you.
You have your saviour, obumbler, we have ours, God of the heavens and of this earth. God gave you a choice, you took it for granted, we will not. God also only asks that you repent, again we will not be so forgiving. You have made yourselves the scurg of our time, God will seperate the chaft from the wheat, you have no choice of this matter, don't believe it, wait til this fall, if you dare to declare us irrevelent by hook or crook, or an emergency, made up or contrived, we will render you useless to our survival. You are the very thing this armored citizen calls the enemy within and you shall pay, it will only be through the grace of God that you will survive it. For only God can truly judge a man, we on the other hand need not judge you for your actions speaks volumns of deciet.

Amen Ret. Marine. I could have not said it better. My uncle gave his life for this country and our freedom and the freedom of others in other parts of the world. Though some of us have not been in the military this is a war or ideals and the future for those who come after us. We will not give up our liberty or the ability of this nation to be a shinning light and harbor of safety for the world. We will fight the good fight at all costs. Those who would destroy this country do so at a cost they have not considered.

Rita| 4.1.10 @ 1:47PM

Well said Ret. Marine; these people are what our founding fathers were talking about when the said "terrorists" foreign or domestic. Domestic terrorists can do more damage under the guise of good than any foreign terrorists.
It is obvious that they don't care that we know who they are and what they want to do to our country. They think they've grown too big to fail with the backing of SEIU and others. They forget that a peranha can do more damage in less time, than the biggest shark in the sea. We peranhas are growing in number and becoming stronger than any unseen foe beneath you. We will come out on top.

Hubert| 4.1.10 @ 8:17PM

Semper Fi, Brother Marine. Keep it tight: we're gonna need it before this mess is cleaned up and freedom reigns again (this Novermber!)

As much as I hate to say it, our government via the communist news media has kept our attention at bay for many years. We've been focused on 9-11-01, terrorism, abortion, education, America's Next Idol, Bachelor this, Bachelorette that, (whore or whoremonger if you ask me), etc., meanwhile back in the District of Criminals the cretins of government and the communist news media have been stoking the fires of the socialist furnace. All to forge a new nation in the image of Marxist governments found around the world. As they comprehend the wonders of their works they are suddenly assailed by the little guy from the streets of America.

Never before have they beheld such a sight. Who are these people they silently or in closed circles asked themselves? Considering the nature of Pelosi’s constituents I find it easy to believe that she was dumbfounded. Her and her fellow minions could only claim to have been threatened, slandered, or spat upon. What other recourse could they offer? Open debate? Hardly. There have been a few times in my life that I would have gladly accepted those kind of threats. They have no knowledge of violence or physical threat. It is an abstract to them. They live in a soft bubble world of ease, self gratification, and cleanliness.

The men and women who have done their best, shown loyalty to the nation, made homes and communities, used their wits, and brawn to continue in the best traditions set by our nation's founders suddenly asked, "What the dickens are these idiots doing? These cretins of government are shysters, liars, thieves! Truth and honesty are not in them!"

Get used to it Pelosi, Lewis, Reid, et al. Your days are numbered. You can go out with decency, or covered with excreta, the choice is yours.

The Democrats are using the alleged violence as an excuse to avoid the public. Here's a clip from The Hill which details the strategy:

Rep. Tim Ryan (D-Ohio) canceled a town hall on the new healthcare law Tuesday because of concerns about the security of the event.

The congressman's office cited safety issues at the facility where the meeting was to take place and threats to his office, according to a report by News21.

Yes.

Socialists offend our American better nature, deaf and blind to unalienable rights that socialists perverted through progressive revisionist propaganda into inalienable, convincing the gullible of their subservience to the unconstitutional in order to usurp all rights as the authoritarian monopoly.

Notice the broad picture painted by Obama's administration, his Congress, and his perverted media. In concert, they fuel furor AGAINST citizens' and states' rights.

Investigators say, there is no such thing as coincidence. The Obama administration's timing this week culminated for trial by his media a set-up case to convince the public of the danger from a Christian Militia, as if self sufficiency is evil, and to ironically encourage the public to hate both Christians as perverts and for the public to distrust militias as if illegal threats to domestic peace.

At this point while innocent until proven guilty by the Constitutional due process (not necessarily by the socialist DHS unconstitutional means), we should note that as a militia, Hutaree actually might NOT have committed the crimes alleged by Napolitano's DHS-FBI infiltrator. The DHS has its own agenda which under Obama's administration is anti-Constitutional to benefit Black supremacist voter intimidation and Muslim jihad to destroy America, evident by AG Holder's corruption of his office as well as Napolitano's corruption of her office. The DHS was and remains under orders to produce results to verify Napolitano's prejudice against the Constitution and Bill of Rights made evident in her initial memo to target conservatives as right-wing radicals.

I had heard that the militia organized as a community safety net for possible catastrophes that could occur in their particular rural setting where they can not expect immediate help from first responders in case of emergencies.

What is an established point this past decade is that the long established Muslim jihad camps in that very region have NEVER been confronted by the DHS-FBI, though their members unanimously defy the American right to life, and though investigative journalists have contacted the FBI with evidence of jihad organization from those radical Muslim camps.

Regarding Hutaree, months ago, a mentally disturbed member of the Hutaree militia was interviewed. And at that time he was noted to be a ripe candidate setting up his entire militia for a DHS-FBI take-down, regardless that the militia most certainly could be a group of law abiding citizens who support rule of law, but happen to be too far away from tax funded emergency services to expect immediate help should a catastrophe strike their region.

Self-named 'pale horse' Kristopher Sickles, a mentally disturbed individual who abused the Hutaree group with his membership is likely a single source of trouble that the FBI manipulated in order to set-up all of Hutaree charged with sedition. Even Alex Jones found Sickles despicable and called out his perversions during an interview.

http://www.infowars.com/the-st.....e-militia/

In a nutshell, The Southern Poverty Law Center produced and published the propaganda prior to hearing testimony from those whom they smear. Given Hutaree for instance now, I would rather refrain from any judgment that the SPLC propagates since that militia's side of the story has yet been withheld. It is not only foolish, but malevolent to believe at face value propaganda produced by any body that tracks hate crimes and would rather produce those than relinquish their corrupt power.

Sustaining our Constitutional Governance remains as ever the trial of each generation to win. Maintain our nation's legacy. There has never been any form of government with the integrity to Liberty than our Constitutional Republic. Socialism is the modern incarnation of the ancient feudal plague that corrupt opportunists manipulate in order to destroy the good that Western Civilization has achieved through the USA since the old feudal order. Socialism is the modern Dark Age that not only persecutes and obliterates free thought but decries as blasphemy the very process of empirical science that proves by research and record the inhumanity of socialism.

maverick muse| 4.1.10 @ 8:57AM

Jay D. Homnick,

Bravo!

You nailed it. The Democrats demonize the working man and woman, targeted now for elimination by our own government. Destroy the middle class that can not be in the socialist feudal order consisting of authoritarians and serfs. Deny the existence of unalienable rights and ignore to destroy the Constitution.

However, AMBITION yet exists as does the Constitution for those willing to hold firm and fight legitimately for our RIGHTS against the illegitimate and ruthless unconstitutional authoritarians who yet must be elected in order to "rule".

RESCIND all or bow down to the incredible socialist propaganda coming from within either party.

1. Republicans united in the vote against Socialized federal mandates.
2. Remain united in the vote to repeal all.
3. Enact the Republican HealthCare Reform that contains no more socialism, no federal mandates to purchase a product, but confines itself to eliminating fraud and corruption within what exists, processing TORT reform that contains what attorneys take along with what may be reasonably awarded for malpractice to victims, and opening up policy availability as well as an extremely low cost catastrophic illness policy available from every insurance company.

The reason that costs have skyrocketed is that insurance companies have deep pockets. Prior to the baby boomer onset into the professional world, most companies did NOT offer health benefits that were initiated as a perk when FDR mandated no pay increase during WWII. It is a rhetorical statement, but ban HEALTH insurance all together and the price for medical care will fall back to what people can afford out of pocket. The current generations of Americans are ALL used to government intervention, and are ALL used to health insurance being provided by major employers. EXPECTATIONS ARE TOO HIGH and have corrupted the ideal which is not to have socialism fund both the safety net and the bulldozer that pushes you over the edge into the netted cage, but to be able to afford catastrophic illness insurance and otherwise cover incidental medical treatments out of pocket, ALL WITHOUT GOVERNMENT INTERVENTION AND MANDATES that inevitably become authoritarian and punitive. Now we face the cost of mandated medical insurance that exceeds our living income, and fines for no coverage that exceed what out of pocket expenses the uninsured earned through very hard labor. Damn the Democratic Socialists in America. There are many "right to work" states that are not impugned by labor unions which subsidize standardized mediocrity in product quality and endorse brutality not only in the work place, but in the communities and in government.

PolishKnight| 4.1.10 @ 10:51AM

"It is a rhetorical statement, but ban HEALTH insurance all together and the price for medical care will fall back to what people can afford out of pocket. "

I know it's a rhetorical statement, but we need to put into context that people need a way to "finance" medical care the way many do their homes and cars. It's an intersting analogy because those are also being nationalized.

Let's also consider another big ticket item that requires finance and has significant government intervention: higher education. Student loans were at first used as an invaluable way for parents and students to finance college and for the students themselves to accept responsibility. With college tuition rates spiraling out of control, the loans are now effectively turning many students into serfs.

We could easily see the same happen with medical financing if we went down that route and people becoming serfs to hospitals and banks.

So the question is: How to create pressure to lower costs and improve efficiency without the painful process of people being left out?

And the answer is: This is the fundamental flaw of the free market that allows socialist slimebags to get into power. It's not moral to leave people behind and even most conservatives would agree that a safety net is necessary, but the administrators of the safety net use it to try to buy votes and influence in ever larger "nets": the poor and the elderly then include students (buy their votes when they're young) and then later union members and other special interest entitlement groups.

I have a personal medical savings account and love it. I have the power to see what the costs are by region and procedure and make medical decisions.

I love to remind leftists, to their discomfort, that they despise the working and middle class. This is why leftist politicians are always saying "This will help the middle class". Because they KNOW that people are believing otherwise.

Most leftist voters aren't really leftists but are now simple entitlement seekers. They are largely apolitical and really just want the left to rob others to benefit them. People who actually believe in leftist ideology regard themselves as elitists and view being a wall street banker as more respectful in their social circle than... working as a plumber. A non-entitled person doing a hard days work is a "loser" in their eyes even if they label them "privileged" and needing to share their wealth (oh, and ungrateful for all the 'help" they're giving him.)

At least when Attila the Hun came to town, he didn't smugly lecture the villagers how ungrateful they were as he burned their homes down...

maverick muse| 4.1.10 @ 11:11AM

"Most leftist voters aren't really leftists but are now simple entitlement seekers."

Meaning that as entitlement seekers, these voters are indeed leftists, whether unwitting or self deceiving.

But as their votes ride on who butters their lack of ambitious integrity. Given bankruptcy and the ruin of produced entitlement defunct programs, when there's no more butter the useless burdens will be weeping, wailing and gnashing their teeth if they still have teeth. Socialism's eugenics does not afford or tolerate the sloth.

They may have voted for entitlements to ruin our already broken economy and our already broken federal socialist un-Constitutional government meant to annihilate the middle class and rule of law. But as worthless dregs, these entitlement seekers are already enslaved culturally, and will be literal eugenic fodder for the nightmares of physical destruction from socialist government. "Arbeit Macht Frei" was then, when work was still a universally recognized virtue. Today's dregs are suckered with socialist promise of freedom from work to vote for what will ultimately bring their own extermination. Socialists ALWAYS utilize death as a means to purge the undesirable from the populace, and as a means to coerce accommodation from the populace.

Those aren't chickens coming home to roost, but birds of prey.

Petronius| 4.1.10 @ 11:27AM

Welllll excuuuuuuuuse me! But people who must get up and go to work every day didn't have the time to peruse the N.Y. But they are just avant-roob urinalists, and what have they ever accomplished? Treason.

Guys,
Today, the columnists seemed to run out of fresh ideas, except of course for Mr. Homnick.

His column title "Remember The Main" got me chuckling...and remembering. I got an e-mail from a TEAM America member yesterday.

He was goofing off, surfing the web, and just for fun after reading one of my posts, he typed in
Ken (Old Texican) in his search engine. HOLY MOLEY GUYS!
Not only were many of my most favorite comments referenced there, but many of yours in conversation with me and the splendid AMSPEC columns that provoked the comments.

I read a few of them this morning. I hope those conversations are read by a lot of people. Those of you who have conversed with truth, and hope, and courage should be proud and honored.
Heh
Conversely, the Soros paid trolls have their words inscribed ........for all time? ...............as the "useful idiots" and liars they are.

You folks might enjoy a little jaunt down memory there.
Now I'm going to search under GRZMLK and see if if I can find a compendium of his brilliant thought.
See "youse" guys a little later.

Ray| 4.1.10 @ 12:08PM

It's not just the middle class who the leftist are targeting, it's anyone who can possibly help the middle class. Just as with the socialists of the first part of the 20th century, the Romans of two thousand years ago, the Greeks of 3 thousand years ago, and the Egyptians of 5 thousand years ago, anyone amongst the "upper class," IE the business owners and educational instructors, who offer non-government controlled education and employment opportunities to the middle class, and those governmental systems that support the middle class, are also targeted.

This is for one reason and one reason only, to remove the middle class entirely as that middle class is the only buffer between the government and the poor who that government wishes to control through resource management. The middle class is far more independent than the leftist like, is far less susceptible to the coercive effects of government resource management that the leftists use to control any given population. That middle class can, if necessary, survive for a time without a government altogether, something that scares the hell out of the leftest Gods of society.

The poor, on the other hand, are almost exclusively reliant upon government for their very survival and are, therefor, far more susceptible to the coercive effects of government resource management, a situation which gives members of that government the power of Gods, a position the leftists aspire for.

The leftist's goal is very apparent: They all wish to be the God Kings of times long past and they will do what ever it takes to become the Lords of society they believe themselves to be. And may heaven help anyone, like the middle class, who get's between the Gods of government and their easily controlled subjects, the poor.

After all, who are we, the middle class, to stand between the Gods and their Subjects? We MUST be the arrogant ones, the foolish ones, the DANGEROUS ones, the ones that must be destroyed in totality in order to return society to it it's natural state, just as Marx stated. And how often have you heard a leftists refer to Natural processes, and a return to Natural reliance The Green Movement, anyone?)), as one of dominant deciding factors when making governmental decisions? Quite often, as it turn out. That is NOT a coincidence. They all wish to return to a "natural" state, a state where they are in command and control over everyone else, like the Gods they believe themselves to be.

I'm not so darned sure that the democrats have a corner on the socialist agenda. My problem with the 2008 election was: Who do I vote for? A left wing socialist or a centrist socialist. I want a staunch conservative originalist candidate who will return us to the environs we enjoyed previously. We have been on the slide toward socialism since Dwight Eisenhower. There was a slowing of the slide during Ronald Regan's administration, but nonetheless the slide continued. The slope is more slick and more pronounced, but we've been on it more than 50 years that I know of for sure.
