Democrats in the Deathmobile

Can mere voters stop Obamacare in Pelosi’s Animal House?

Does anyone else remember what happened Jan. 19? Did anyone else watch the confetti fly and hear the band play in the ballroom of Boston’s Park Plaza Hotel two months ago? Or was the election of a Republican to the Senate seat held for more than four decades by Ted Kennedy merely a dream?

Scott Brown won by pledging to be the Senate’s “41st vote” against Obamacare, but Nancy Pelosi and her fellow House Democrats seem intent on pretending that Brown’s historic victory in Massachusetts never happened as they prepare to enact the president’s health care plan By Any Means Necessary.

Pelosi’s implacable determination in the face of such clear indicators that voters oppose this measure has left opponents straining for analogies to describe the arguably unconstitutional process. Lindsey Graham insulted the Japanese by comparing Democrats to kamikaze pilots “liquored up on sake” for a suicide mission. It might be more diplomatic to compare Democratic maneuvers to the Animal House scene of Delta Tau Chi brothers crammed inside their hurtling Deathmobile: “Ramming speed!”

It would all be comical were it not for the possibility that this slapstick legislative fraternity prank — perpetrated by the “Slaughter Solution” with Enron-like accounting gimmicks from the Congressional Budget Office — might yet become law.

How did we arrive at this juncture? Health care was endlessly debated by Obama and the other Democratic presidential candidates during the 2007-08 primary season, creating a partisan consensus that something must be enacted, with only relatively minor details separating the White House rivals. By the time the general election rolled around, however, the campaign focus had shifted to how to deal with the economic meltdown.

When Obama was sworn into office in January 2009, it was understood that fixing the economy was his biggest challenge. His massive $789 billion “stimulus” bill was pushed through Congress with relative ease. He was overwhelmingly popular — in early March last year, he had a 64-percent approval rating in the Real Clear Politics average — and it seemed nothing could stop him from enacting his agenda. In mid-May, Pelosi promised that health-care legislation would “be on the floor by the end of July, I am quite certain,” and the president declared, “We’ve got to get it done this year.… The stars are aligned.”

Despite such favorable astrological omens, when Obama returned two months later from an overseas trip that included a G-8 summit in Rome and visits to Russia and Ghana, Pelosi’s promise was nowhere near fulfillment and Democrats offered hints of panic at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. After a White House huddle, Sen. Max Baucus said, “The urgency barometer is going up,” and a spokesman for Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said, “There was a strong agreement by everyone in the room that we can get a bill done before the start of the August recess.”

Yet neither the House nor Senate had produced a bill when the August recess arrived and, during town-hall meetings in their districts, members of Congress were besieged by angry citizens whom the Democratic National Committee denounced as “angry mobs” of “right-wing extremists.” Right-wing or otherwise, the widespread anger stemmed from indignation over out-of-control deficit spending and the belief that the Democrats’ focus on passing the health-care bill had distracted them from the more urgent task of fixing the economy.

Unemployment kept rising and it seemed nothing — not even a massive Sept. 12 Tea Party march on Washington — could get Democrats to listen. Just days after Republicans scored victories in the Virginia and New Jersey gubernatorial elections, Pelosi finally got the House to pass the health-care bill on Nov. 7. Reid held the Senate hostage to get approval for a much different version of the bill on Christmas Eve.

Even then, Scott Brown was driving his Dodge truck through the snow en route to the Jan. 19 Senate victory that most political observers at the time believed was the final death-blow to this unpopular legislation. Could there be a more decisive electoral verdict than for a Republican to be elected in liberal Massachusetts on a promise to stop the health-care bill?

Well, the voters be damned. Evidently swayed by White House arguments that “the fate of [Obama’s] presidency” requires passage of the bill, House Democrats seem determined to ignore the meaning of Brown’s election. With the “41st vote” to prevent the Senate from approving a bicameral compromise version of Obamacare, the House is now heading toward a weekend scenario in which they will vote on a completely different piece of legislation while pretending to pass the Senate bill — and then hope that the Senate will play along with the charade.

“They’re obviously not doing this for policy reasons,” one GOP operative who worked on the Brown campaign said last night. “This is political, but nobody can figure out the politics of it.”

Administration arm-twisters are reportedly telling House Democrats that the bill, once passed, will magically overcome the unpopularity that has hitherto plagued it, and that by November voters will forget the extraordinary machinations by which Pelosi accelerated her legislative Deathmobile up to “ramming speed.”

At this point, however, the arguments for passage resemble another Animal House scene, with Obama in the role of Otter when he announces, “I think that this situation absolutely requires a really futile and stupid gesture be done on somebody’s part.” It remains to be seen whether House Democrats will supply Bluto’s famous answer: “We’re just the guys to do it.”

Animal House, yes.

But the whole ObamaCare mess reminds me more of the Three Stooge (Obama, Reid, Peelosi) trying to paint a house.

Animal House? HELL NO.

Neither Otter nor Blutto nor Doomsday were thieves, nor were any of the Delta boys tyrants. The stupidest pranks they pulled did nothing to bankrupt a business, defraud taxpayers or tell people what to do or how to do it.

The guys at Animal House were silly and ignorant, but they were mostly harmless. The scumbags we're dealing with are OBAMANAZIS. Their policies are an attack against the middle class and their "leaders" have got nothing in common with we the people.

There's no such thing as "the government" anymore: it's just a bunch of guys who want to spend your money and run your life

Who the hell is on the budget committee that fostered the propoganda yesterday? And, why the hell didn't I hear any news on the networks that the Republicans stood up and shouted that it was all a charade of muffled, economic gobbledygook akin to "Don't pay attention to that man behind the curtain"?

I'm angry with Pelosi and her ilk but, with that said, I'm even more angry that the budget Republicans did not denounce this slight-of-hand crap in a loud and resounding voice! The majority of Americans walked away from their TVs last night with the illusion that all is well and isn't free health care wonderful(?) on their lips.

I'm so disgusted I could scream, pack the feathers in one bag and the tar in a bucket and head to DC right now, with the intention of starting in the budget office wherever I find an "R" on the door...!

code| 3.19.10 @ 9:23AM

If you want to get angry, call your House Representative and ask him/her to "have the courage" (as Obama said) to vote NO.

Rep. Paul Ryan did speak out against it as the Ranking member of the House Budget Committee. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hLITGkcwZIA

Leaders Boehner, McConnell, and even Scott Brown have spoken out against it, but the Democrats are insistent on passing this.

In fact, Speaker Pelosi was quoted to have said something that like this - if the door is close, we will try the window. if the wall is high, we will pole vault to get in, but we will get this done.

In the face of such determination from Leader Reid, Speaker Pelosi and the president who has postponed and cancelled his foreign trip to savor what he thinks will be his personal victory and his place in the history books, anger directed at the Republicans won't help much.

In fact, if Obamacare passes by the Slaughter rule, one can almost be sure that Obama's favored public option for healthcare, immigration amnesty, labor cardcheck, etc. will likewise be deemed passed in the congress before November 2010.

Sam| 3.19.10 @ 6:56AM

I wonder where this mess would be if Maine's Sen. Snowe would not have voted yes to let the Senate bill out of committee. I hope that if this horrendous bill passes there will be those that remember that had she not thrown in with the Democrats this bill might have never made it through the senate.

If any good comes of this health care mess, I hope it is the death of bipartisanism. Even the word is offensive. This is war; we should be fighting.

Tony R. | 3.19.10 @ 9:54AM

YES! Thank you, David. That word itself has always made my skin crawl. Anytime I hear about "bipartisan" consensus in DC, I'm thinking what the hell? Today's Democrats are subversive, Marxist traitors who loathe America and want to change us into something we're not. We DON'T elect Republicans to go up there and come to agreements with those people! I want to see some a$$es kicked! As you said, this is definitely war...

Perhaps down the road when all the old people in Maine have their Medicare Part B payments doubled or tripled and Medicare denies most claims, and they have to wait 6 mos. to see a physician's assistant for heart surgery, someone will remind them that their beloved Progressive Sen. Snowe helped the Democrats destroy their health care in order to buy votes from millions of illegals and their relatives so the Progressives could always remain in power.

Deborah D | 3.19.10 @ 7:01AM

Actually, Paul Ryan was on Rush Limbaugh yesterday (he, of the Budget Committee) saying exactly that the CBO score was a scam and a sham. If you're surprised that Republicans don't get covered in the MSM, don't be. Americans (for the most part) don't get their news from the networks or CNN etc.

I wasn't around yesterday evening to see the news on Fox, but I'd imagine they covered it.

Brian Mc| 3.19.10 @ 7:08AM

I switched to all three over-the-air majors, yesterday with my locals' early broadcasts and got the jist of what 'others' caught if they were like-minded and it was disgusting.

I don't have cable or satellite. My concern was to see what the average-informed was being fed the day of the announcement and was led to believe from the early reports on CBS, NBC and ABC that there was no Republican backlash.

Mattled| 3.19.10 @ 9:15AM

You're right Brian---there are millions of people out there who still get their news from these sources (I saw 78% last week) that have no idea how unpopular this POS is. I'm talking Healthcare and the Prezbo.

The sooner the media gets targeted, the sooner Odoogie goes down. Without the media he is a piece of cardboard.

BTW--where is Michael Steele? His JOB#1 should be to expose the media as mouthpieces for the DNC. Wouldn't the job of the RNC Head be to defeat the DNC? Targeting anchors/reporters would be a good start. They can't handle being questioned/exposed.

Put a picture of Couric (no scratch that---it's s-e-x-i-s-t)---Williams or Stepahapoligist on a billboard and stamp "BIASED" or "LIBERAL" on their face and watch them scream like stuck pigs.

I'll put up $100 for that billboard!

Mr. McCain?? Can you do it?

Doug| 3.19.10 @ 7:36AM

justasimplepatriot| 3.19.10 @ 7:47AM

Anyone who votes for this is a domestic enemy of the Constitution. Tell them so.

Melvin| 3.19.10 @ 8:09AM

Obama's narrative becomes clear now. Being a Constitutional lawyer makes this man more deadly than rat poison.
I have to give him credit though, during the beginning of his Presidency he knew and exploited the Senators and Republicans greatest weakness, "G R E E D" hence this is why we had Stimulus 1. Obama placed the bait (any pork barrel project that a Sen. or Congr. ever wanted) Obama sprang the trap and he had a cage full of greedy Senators and Congressman with pork barrel projects in their claws.
By nature of these Congressmen and Senators and their greed they sold their souls to Obama. This is exactly why Reconciliation is marching through Congress like Sherman's march to the sea.
Obama's parrot, Gibb's was asked last night on whether or not this procedural move would be used with Cap & Trade and Amnesty, he answered in a long about way, Yes.
So I guess it could be said, Nikita Khrushchev's prophecy comes to pass. That Sunday night, our Republic fell from the enemies from within.

saleboter| 3.19.10 @ 8:31AM

What good is healthcare if you don't have a job?

Tim F| 3.19.10 @ 8:50AM

As a fan of military history, particularly WWII, I think that the best analogy is to the Battle of Stalingrad, and what it meant for Germany. Hitler got pulled into a urban battle he hadn't planned on, and it became the entire focal point of the war. He continued to pursue the battle even when it's impact on the German army became apparent and even after the perils involved with it were obvious. It became an obsession for Hitler, the stakes and cost be damned. He became blinded to reality, just as the Dems appear to be. It cost him and Germany everything, just as this fiasco will cost Obama and the Dems everything if it is passed. BTW, no I am not saying Obama is another Hitler (even though libs loved to do that with Bush) ...just using the analogy.

Tim Williams| 3.19.10 @ 11:33AM

I see your point, but my only problem with the analogy is that once Obama signs this thing into law, he wins the war. The Democrats pushing this aren't trying to win re-election this fall, they are trying to "transform the country." One election, or a couple of them, make no difference. Once this is in place, our nation will be fundamentally transformed, and there is nothing the Republican party can do about it in 2011. This is a very dark chapter in our history.

brutus6| 3.19.10 @ 12:27PM

Right, Tim. Even if it costs many of those "yea"-voting dems their jobs come November, what do they care?: They'll just get lucrative lobbying jobs. And since most will have been in Congress at least 5+ years before they get the boot, they'll get what they voted for themselves: the kind of health care and pension payments for the rest of their lives that we proles can only dream about. Voters be damned and the country be damned. They don't care; they know they're already fixed for life. And once they've transformed the country, as you say, they know the Gravy Train for progressive public servants like them(contradiction of terms, I know..) will never change.

Doctor Right| 3.19.10 @ 2:19PM

Disagree.

Obow-ma is setting a precedent whereby the Executive branch can basically do whatever it wants.

In this vein, the next Repub Prez and Congress can simply say "ObamaCare is 100% null and void", and pass the "bill" without ever even voting on it!

Quartermaster| 3.19.10 @ 6:37PM

If a law is unconstitutional, the Prez doesn't need anyone's approval to discontinue it. An executive order is sufficient. Once he does it, he can dare Congress to try to impeach him. Remember, Congress doesn't have the guns.

alan fink| 3.20.10 @ 9:02AM

lest you forget...the Dems have methodically spent the better part of a century working to effect their agenda - despite repeated setbacks. the same can be done to do the damage they will certainly wreak. it will require: leadership, an alternate vision, unwavering commitment......a willingness to manipulate every available legal mechanism that challenges and overturns the Dem wheels. In particular, it will take real willpower to undo the set of dependancies that entitlements and expanding federal hiring is intended to promote.

R Martin| 3.19.10 @ 8:51AM

To compare the House Democrats with the brothers of Delta Tau Chi is to demean the fine members of that fraternity. And the analogy really fails when Obama is compared to Otter. Give me Otter any day.

Melvin| 3.19.10 @ 9:12AM

For the military retirees:

TRICARE FOR LIFE'S FUTURE.... TRICARE for Life was instituted to correct the broken promises that U.S. Military retirees would receive free healthcare coverage for life and it covers the Medicare co-pay. TriCare for Life is an "Earned Benefit" that's been granted by a previous Congress. The current "health care reform bill" If approved by Congress will drastically change retired Military TriCare benefits.

The one item of most interest to retired Military is on page 189 Congressional Budget Office (CBO) report. The first assault wave would hit in 2011 and would hit hard. It would initiate cost sharing to require retirees to pay the first $525 of medical cost and 50% of the next $4,725 for a first year cost of $2,888 per person. It would be indexed to increase with inflation. A reason given for this action (for PR effect) is "overuse" by retirees. Those covered by TriCare for Life would lose the Medicare for life benefit and would have to pay. They would lose TriCare as a total care package. They will not be allowed to keep TriCare so when President Obama says “…if you like the health plan you have you can keep it,” he is lying.

The CBO has already drafted proposed legislation that would basically reduce TriCare benefits to a system whereby we pay deductibles and co-pays up to $6,301 the first year for each of us and our spouses, with future years being indexed to increase with inflation. In any case, again on page 189 of the CBO report, there is a strong recommendation to eventually eliminate the program as it is too expensive. Just another move to slight those of us who dedicated much of our adult lives to the defense of our country.

Mattled| 3.19.10 @ 9:20AM

"Nobody can figure out the politics"? Somebody hasn't been reading Mark Steyn. Why is the President doing this?

"Because it's worth it. Big time. I've been saying in this space for two years that the governmentalization of health care is the fastest way to a permanent left-of-center political culture. It redefines the relationship between the citizen and the state in fundamental ways that make limited government all but impossible. In most of the rest of the Western world, there are still nominally 'conservative' parties, and they even win elections occasionally, but not to any great effect (Let's not forget that Jacques Chirac was, in French terms, a 'conservative').

"The result is a kind of two-party one-party state: Right-of-center parties will once in a while be in office, but never in power, merely presiding over vast left-wing bureaucracies that cruise on regardless."

Thanks for the heads up, Melvin re tri-care.

You know, folks, for only the second time in his career, Rush put out a call...for his audience to call congress. I do wonder if some 20 or 30 million listeners did try. I have heard that the switchboard there has been in melt-down for 2 days.
God bless 'em.

Now, let's all be serious for a moment OK?
After the millions of words, and barrels of ink, other than commenters here and over at AT, the downright evil inherent in this health insurance putch has not been "added up" in my mind.

Rush got real close yesterday to putting an "evil total" together, but then again spun off into money numbers.
Folks,
It may be to late to stop passage of this evil. It is certainly not too late to begin thinking and planning in your own family the steps on the way to frustrate the evil.
Fighting "Implementation" of this putch is going to be the real battle to be won.
In two hundred million very personal ways, we the people are going to be responsible for sprinkling sand in the gears until these arrogant arses' plans grind to a halt.
First, we filled out only three blanks on our census form. Our household number, and "other" for race.

At this point, I am going to explain precisely why I always describe these evil people as "communists", and then Parenthetically add (pardon the shorthand.)

Once a week all during elementary school years, we did a "duck and cover " drill. The reason for that here in Houston, as was explained carefully to us, was that Houston's port, and refining center for most of the country was a first priority target.

......We never knew if it was another "drill" or in fact the real thing. What we DID know was that under our flimsy little desks behind a wall of windows there was a scant chance of survival.

(I hope each of you younger people here will go to youtube and watch the effects of a nuclear blast. Each of us children were shown those nuke-test movies a number of times.)
So,
When I use the word "communist", I picture those buildings being blown away, then incinerated...with me and my family in one of them.
So,
when I write "communist", I want each of you to understand the depth of my life-long loathing, contempt, and honestly, fear of very real "boogy men" who slaughter their people with a tsk tsk.
So,
the question I want each of you to consider is if this "wholesale murder of Americans Act" does in fact pass, when is it time to "duck and cover"?

Ken (Old Texican)| 3.19.10 @ 10:53AM

This was the film we were shown since first grade.

Quartermaster| 3.19.10 @ 6:51PM

I saw the film several times, but never had a drill where we did it. I lived on Sembach AFB in Germany, and spent 6 years in dependent schools in Germany and saw many alerts, but never did we "duck and cover." With Thermonukes, it wouldn't have mattered anyway unless you were actually underground and didn't have to worry about the structure collapsing. Otherwise, you were going to burn if you were anywhere near ground zero.

Tish | 3.20.10 @ 10:19AM

It's not time to "duck and cover", since His Oneness wants to make as many individuals as possible dependent on government for survival. Why do you think he's in no hurry to actually address unemployment or the economy? Bill Clinton understood that there were limits. Even Hillary knows that, though hers are further out than her hubby's. Obama is a zealot who recognizes no limits, which makes him much more dangerous.
These days there are no desks to hide beneath, so your only choice is to polish up your pitchfork and get involved in the fight.

Bob in FL| 3.19.10 @ 10:30AM

The phrase “no one can figure out the politics of this” is the operative phrase in the healthcare ‘debate.’ This debate is all about intellectual fraud perpetrated by members of Congress, almost all of whom are Democrats. But Democrats believe they can get away with it again because they have always gotten a pass for being members in good standing of the supposedly ‘caring’ class. This perception is likely to take a serious turn for the worse after people get a good look at the fraudulent underpinnings of Obamacare.

Becky| 3.19.10 @ 11:04AM

I don't believe the union will stay together. There is no where else for the Steyn's, Varnny's of the rest of the free world to go, so a place will have to be made.

It feels like people who like the idea of limited government are being backed into a corner. Someone is going to win this current battle, but I think this may be a longer term war. The tea party protests, the state's amendments and law suits, the anger and promises not to comply, the enslavement of part of the economy, seems to me to be a combination of a problem that won't go away easily. It is larger than the anecdotal story or claim by Democrats that if they save just one person...............etc. What many fail to see is that if they the one they are thinking about, what is unseen and talked about are the others who are sacraficed.

- Andrew Jackson, referring to a Supreme Court decision he disagreed with.

Several states have already passed resolutions stating they will not abide by the provisions in "ObamaCare". Some say this has no teeth...I'm not so sure.

What would Obow-ma do if a large number of states simply decided to ignore him and the Congress?

Owing to the fact that ObamaCare may be made "law" with the unconstitutional "Slaughter Rule", and that Obow-ma has indicated he may use "Slaughter" for immigration "reform", cap-n-tax, ect...The unconstitutionality would make his entire agenda illegitimate.

Why would any state be bound by unconstitutional, illegitimate mandates?

This would, of course, take brass balls by a united group of Governors and state legislators. It would send a message to Obow-ma that he is NOT our King, we are NOT his subjects, and he WILL obey the Constitution, or he WILL be removed from office.

Ultimately, in the fantasy-world I often inhabit, I forsee a Constitutional convention consisting of delegates from ONLY the resistant states meeting to form a new Government, and proclaiming themselves the legitimate US Federal Gov't.

Sound like secession? It does. But it may be our only hope.

I will NOT live in a socialist tyranny with Barry Obow-ma as my "Dear Leader". And hundreds of millions agree with me.

If it splits the country in two literal parts, so be it.

Within 5 years, all the disaffected LIB refugees would be trying to sneak across the border into our new, renewed America...

...And we'd send ALL of them back.

LiveFreeOrDie| 3.20.10 @ 5:20AM

Regretfully, I must agree with you. At this point in time I would love to see this country split right down the middle. Let the "progressive" idiots have their own country. I'm sure you're right about the results.

"no one can figure out the politics of this" Really?Maybe the concept that this merry band of marxists are not polititicans, but revolutionaries should start dawning on this country. Revolutionaries love being martyrs for the cause.
Also, maybe its time to start calling this so'called Democratic party what they are, communists. They have thrown the sheeps clothing off, take a good look everybody, this is what they are and always will be, always have been and thats why this fight has to go on forever against these people..

Oldefarte| 3.19.10 @ 11:15AM

I [and many American taxpayer-voters] cannot wait for November to get here!!!!!

Al Adab| 3.19.10 @ 11:29AM

Should the government succeed in pressing upon us this crown of thorns, the voters, the citizens will have only one recourse. Our voices must be strong, "We will not play, we will not submit."

This act is tyranny pure and simple. It makes citizens into wards of the state, dependant upon government largess for their very well being. Such a situation is incompatible with any concept of Liberty or a free people.

Should in fact the proposed fines and prison for failure to comply be imposed, we must be prepared to pay the price. Future generation will either curse our names for failure or remember us for our courage and devotion to their Freedom.

Tim| 3.19.10 @ 11:32AM

Otter ( John Boehner ) speaks ,
" But you can't hold a whole fraternity responsible for the behavior of a few, sick twisted individuals. For if you do, then shouldn't we blame the whole fraternity system? And if the whole fraternity system is guilty, then isn't this an indictment of our educational institutions in general? I put it to you, Greg - isn't this an indictment of our entire American society? Well, you can do whatever you want to us, but we're not going to sit here and listen to you badmouth the United States of America. Gentlemen! "
[Leads the Deltas out of the hearing, all humming the Star-Spangled Banner]

Wright, Farrakhan, Jackson, Sharpton, any of the Chicago, Detroit, San Francisco, LA, urban leaders who want a Cuban style government here in America and with Obonehead we've got the very same mentality. Oh, it's packaged better, easy to look at, more pleasant on the ear, but the message is the same, the destruction of America!!!

My 25yr old daughter is in college, attempting to get a degree in business management.

She qualifies for a limited scholarship, (thank God, dad says) and gets a couple grand or so every semester.

She got her check today, and while My wife and I were watching my grand daughter, she pulls in, comes upstairs, and tells me that when she got her oil changed, she found out that her crasher is leaking oil, and tranny fluid.

Right behind her, is her boyfriend (meatball) with a 47"TV, and an XBox game!

That's how "President" Anti-Christ got elected!

Neither one of them know the Vice-President's name, and they look at me like I have a 3rd eye, for insinuating that it might be important to know a little bit about how America came to be.

I'm only 52, so I may be around when they start tatooing W.A.S.P.'s, and asking for our papers, every other mile.

One of many reasons why we're in this mess!

Give the liberals a dose of their own medicine.

Find the doctors of all congressmen who vote yes on this bill and drive Medicaid and Medicare patients to them. Would I surprised if many of 'their' doctors don't accept Medicare or Medicaid patients? No. So, in the finest traditions of community organizing, organize protests at the clinics and homes of these doctors, decrying their inhumanity in accepting only 'rich' patients - protest until they agree to accept all patients regardless of what insurance they carry.

Northern Rebel tells a story that is as close to the current truth as I have experienced from listening to some of the young knuckleheads I have encountered lately in the discussion of these issues.

But I still have hope for the November elections. Some of these knuckleheads don't care enough to vote again, so we may be able to effect our own version of "change" come the elections.

Ron| 3.22.10 @ 4:39AM

One common thought has pervaded the health care debate and that is what political suicide it is for the Democrats to push this bill through by any means necessary. I think I use to be a somewhat rational person, but that was before I saw what the leaders in Congress were willing to do to accomplish their goals. Now I find myself actually wondering whether we will really have the opportunity in November we envision. Does any of this make sense? The Democrats go on some Kamikaze mission to push through this bill against the people's wishes just months before we can vote them out of office and repeal this bill. I am not a conspiracy nut; at least I don't think I am. But I'm baffled as to why the Democrats would commit political suicide just to have this bill passed. It may well be tied up in legal challenges well beyond November. So assuming we have the opportunity to vote the bastids out of office then, their bill may never see the light of day. I find it hard to believe the Democratic party is willing to commit mass suicide for something that may never be.

Linda7965| 3.21.10 @ 9:43PM

I signed onto the internet for the first time in my life in 2005 and started trying to warn people about the importance of stopping illegal immigration. This was just after George Bush signed the SPP. As with Europe, trade agreements and massive illegal immigration are being used like tools to destroy our sovereignty. Obama is just a continuation of Bush 1, Bill and Hillary Clinton and George Bush 2. Yes, it is true, Obama is a Communist/Socialist, but he is only taking the path George Bush knowingly prepared for him. Obama entered the office of the Presidency one of the most powerful Presidents ever. What gave him that power? The Patriot Act and a prior administration who demonstrated the United States would do nothing when the Legislative Branch became irrelevant.

Obama is not worried about the next election. Like Bush, both parties are working to erase America's borders and allow for third world counties to invade and take what remains of America. Of course the government is doing this under the banner of “diversity”. The 2010 elections will look much like the 2008 elections…that being a Mugabe banana republic.

The Marxist Mexicans and the third world country invaders will gladly give Obama another term. For you Neanderthals who will scream…the Republicans were too politically incorrect…you need to understand the Marxist influence of the Mexicans. It has been proven time and time again they will always vote for a Marxist form of government. Suggesting America’s votes be devoid of principle is why we are here today in an abyss from which there can be no recovery.

Both parties' failure to abide by the rule of law will bring America another Obama win.

The vote tonight was a real cliff-hanger, then a barn-burner before it was a fait accompli.

That Bart Stupak showed 'em what he was made of, didn't he? He knew the only thing wrong with that Health Care Bill was the Sanctity of Life question. That cleared up, he was all for it.

That hag, Pelosi, said "Show us whatcha got." And we sure showed her, didn't we? Marched through those Tea Partyers with chest held high and a gavel from hell. Hecklers? She has them for breakfast!

I can hear it next week, Republicans saying, "OK, now the gloves come off.....Damn, I can't un-button my glove."

Never mind, we have our Sure Thing, Sarah Palin, waiting in the wings for 2012.. Meanwhile she is looking for a Reality Show starring herself and all members of famiiy show-casing Alaska. Her asking price? Reportedly $1.-1.5 ilion.

We fought the British for this country 224 years ago. We had a Civil War to free the slaves and then we gave it to a Chicago shyster and his mob in 2009, whose slogan was Change You Can Believe In....

Now Timothy Geithner, Tax Cheat, Treasury Secretary will have - 1700 or 17,000 IRS bird-dogs to make sure we are paying our health insurance premiums. Wow, creating some jobs, after all!

Easy come, easy go.

Get back to your fun with Animal House analogies.

Think of this as following the scene where Otter goes to the motel, and has his butt kicked by Greg Marmalard, Niedemaier, Diller and the rest of the "HitlerYouth". Afterwards, he's brought back to the Delta House, as Bluto launches into his inspirational tirade: Marmalard-Dead! Niedemaier-Dead! Wormer-" (I've heard this is one of Rahm Emmanuel's favorite scenes). What is needed is the one who, like Otter, chimes in with "Dead", and develops the planned response for the meaningless gesture. Just give the word, and we can start sawing the head off the Emil Faber statue.

RayVon... CBS News conducted a poll about Pelosi and Reid. I won't bore you with the favorable/unfavorable stats. I don't think those stats tell nearly the message the other stats do.
Pelosi-----
36% say they haven't heard enough about her to form an opinion.
15% are undecided.
1% apparently don't know who she is.
A total of 52% of Americans don't know enough about the most powerful woman in America, 3rd in line to the Presidency, to have an opinion about her.

Reid---
50% haven't heard enough to have an opinion.
18% are undecided.
1% don't know who he is.
69% of Americans, OVER 2/3 OF AMERICAN CITIZENS don't know enough about the most powerful man in the Senate to have an opinion.

We don't have majority rules, we have STUPIDITY RULES.

Just in case you are curious:
Pelosi -- unfavorable 37%, favorable 11%
Reid -- unfavorable 23%, favorable 8%
Wonderful leaders those Democrats have. Majority rules??? You must be joking. We have Morons Rule.

Any cynicism with regard to the passage of health care reform in the U.S. is misplaced cynicism. The legislation was much needed and did go a long way to fulfilling the vision that late Senator Kennedy had of the America in which he fought for as the most desirable place to live. The President is trying to help the people not big money or big enterprise. This is a refreshing and much needed change.
