Bombshell of criminal possibility: What did Biden, Emanuel, and deputy know?
Kane: “Was it Secretary of the Navy?”
To which the Congressman replied:
Sestak is a retired Navy admiral.
In the Colorado case, the Post reported that while Romanoff refused comment on a withdrawal-for-a-job offer, “several top Colorado Democrats described Messina’s outreach to Romanoff to The Post, including the discussion of specific jobs in the administration. They asked for anonymity because of the sensitivity of the subject.”
The Post also noted that the day after Romanoff announced his Senate candidacy, President Obama quickly announced his endorsement of Senator Bennet.
The discovery that the White House has now been reported on two separate occasions in two different states to be deliberately committing a potential violation of federal law — in order to preserve the Democrats’ Senate majority — could prove explosive in this highly political year. The 60-seat majority slipped to 59 seats with the death of Senator Edward Kennedy, a Democrat, and the election of Republican Senator Scott Brown. Many political analysts are suggesting Democrats could lose enough seats to lose their majority altogether.
This is the stuff of congressional investigations and cable news alerts, as an array of questions will inevitably start being asked of the Obama White House.
Here are but a few lines of inquiry, some inevitably straight out of Watergate.
* Who in the White House had this conversation with Congressman Sestak?
* Did Deputy Chief of Staff Messina have the same conversation with Sestak he is alleged to have had with Romanoff — and has he or anyone else on the White House staff had similar conversations with other candidates that promise federal jobs for political favors?
* They keep logs of these calls. How quickly will they be produced?
* How quickly would e-mails between the White House, Sestak, Specter, Romanoff and Bennet be produced?
* Secretary of the Navy is an important job. Did this job offer or the reported offer of the US AID position to Romanoff have the approval of President Obama or Vice President Biden?
* What did the President know and when did he know it?

What job do you think Granholm will receive for the show trial "hearing" that effectively swept convicted ex-Mayor of Detroit Kwame Kilpatrick off the national stage just in time for the 2008 'Presidential election? I'm betting on "Green Jobs" Czar since she's been touting that issue for some time here (according to her; she will bring a whopping 40,000 new jobs to Michigan to replace the 700,000 - heading for a cool million before she's finally out of her - that we've lost since she became the Governess).

Before the Birthers, there were the Truthers, long before either we had the Warren Commission. Arlen Specter made his bones on the political scene by concocting the "Single bullet theory" that explained how a bullet could hit JFK in the neck, turn 90 degrees and hit him in the arm, turn another 90 degrees and hit John Connolly, then do a 180 and come back to hit JFK again. Thereby he proved that all the carnage in the Presidential Limo was accomplished by Oswald acting alone. Only a man who can so very baldly refute the laws of physics can believe in Obama's vision -- of course the White House will do anything possible to keep the schmuck in the Senate!

The American media died when the likes of Walter Cronkite and Dan Rather started their careers. They were carefully groomed hand puppets of the left. The result is that other career minded journalists and the truth followed them over a cliff.
Tom in Michigan| 2.22.10 @ 4:52PM
Hear! Hear! In one of the most disgraceful acts of a debased profession; Walter Cronkite stood on a field of American victory after defeat of the North Vietnamese and Viet Cong during the Tet (effectively taking the Vietcong out of the war as an effective fighting force) and told the nation we couldn't win, using the fact the VC has breached the American Embassy compound as his rationale (the Marines inside stopped them cold). Tet was a military disaster for the Communists but, he made it a propaganda victory. Walter Cronkite was even worse than the modern media because, he used his position of trust to betray the nation. I remember a buddy of mine who was in the thick of the Tet fighting crying, "What war was HE watching!?" Despite the historical facts, Cronkite was proud of his treason to his dying day and never admitted he was wrong. I remember my other friend who died at Khe Sahn as the fighting continued there until the end of March 1968. With luck, I’ll forget Cronkite some day

i arrived in phu bai for the '69 tet that never happened.
also Slime Ragazine said the americans were defeated.
no way. our convoys were never ambushed again during the year i was there 1-69, 1-70 because of the u.s. military defeating the cong and nva at THEIR Dien Bien Phu.
an army reporter hitch hiked from Quang Tri to ent end of HW 1 with only a camera. this was unheard of prior to the victory of the US forces.
we won strategically, but politically the d.c. crowd abandoned our ally when the nva finally violated the treaty and invaded the south. we could have straffed their mechanized convoys and stopped the advance from our carriers, thai stationed forces, 52's from Japan. the d.c. betrayed the south vietnamese and the americans that sacrificed their lives to give freedom to the south.
the minister of propaganda of the vietcong showed up in San Diego with the boat people, he was asked why he came since he won. he explained that the commies from the north either shot or sent the viet cong to reeducation work camps to die. he stated that he came to the conclusion that the cong fought on the wrong side.
a couple of million lives too late. thanks peacefaggot leftists. i am sure you will someday defend your country against those that cherish liberty.

Hello!
We need to call for Holder to recuse his administration and call for a Special Prosecuter
---today! This is 2010 and charges need to be lodged against all involved during this most important election year. And the best person to call for this is a very high profile outsider like......Oprah. (joke! I couldn't resist!!) Sorry it shouldn't come from a bunch of Republican leaders. A call for a Special Prosecuter from Mitch McConnell or John Boehner would appear to be a partisan manuever.
We need a two prong thrust from different directions. Give the job to the TEA Parties and also to Sarah Palin! This is right up their alley so to speak. Palin makes the announcement on FACEBOOK and then calls a press conference. The MSM covers it because they think she is stupid and they can make fun of the hick. She announces the call for the special prosecuter with a back drop of JFK's quotes writ large and repeated adnausem. She makes a we need to clean the corrupt government now type of statement. Next the TEA Partiers act as the shock troops--swarm each congress critter with calls, visits, etc, until the special prosecuter is selected and confirmed. End crony payoffs and corruption from the top. Put the heat on all of the congress critters. Most of them will fold like cards--they can't stand Rhambo either.

No, when we have little Hitler in office as we do now and his crony crocks of Pelosi and Reid goading him to ever more brazen despotic acts, there will be no investigation of Sestak's claims.
A. Hitler's first concern was to rig the courts; and now with our own judicial system all but a rubber stamp to statism and the Atty Gen a sycophant, we're in very deep weeds. This is not going to end well. O's intent is to push until we push back, at which time he'll bring out the big guns.

"Law Enforcement" won't even bother to PRETEND to honor their oath to uphold the Constitution. They even openly MOCK the Oath Keepers who take their oath seriously. And they absolutely REFUSE to do anything to the illegal alien BY HIS OWN WORDS who is occupying the office of President. BY HIS OWN WORDS he attended Indonesian public school at a time when Indonesia did not allow non-citizens to do so, nor did they recognize dual citizenship. If he EVER WAS a US citizen, he renounced his citizenship at that time. Furthermore, BY HIS OWN WORDS he traveled to Pakistan in 1981. You could NOT do that at that time on a US passport. I cannot believe that it has taken so long for people to penetrate the "wool" and see the "wolf" in the Whitehouse. Much more, the Judicial Branch of our government is "stalling" at every opportunity confront this "person" Barak Obama, the first being an investigation into his backround and birth place. Corruption in the U.S. gov. starts at the very top and rolls downhill, the odor is worse than "stinky stuff" we flush down our toilets.

Warning: Off-topic post follows. COuld anyone answer a question for me. Just what in the HE** is a "pingback"? And why the HE** is the American Spectator forum so infested with them??? I have emailed the webmasters of TAS several times imploring them to do something about it and have never heard anything back except crickets chirping. I rarely see pingbacks (whatever they may be) on any other internet forum, and when I do, I never see scores of them like I do here. What gives?!?!?! Anybody??? Buehler???
Joanne| 2.23.10 @ 4:52PM
George, I believe the pings are from people on their cell phone, like with Twitter, etc. I can't say for SURE but I think that's what they are from. And YES....they are ridiculous! God Bless! ;o)

PJMedia does the same thing, although they do offer a 'show on one page' option, but why do I need to tell you that? If I am interested enough to click on the article, then GIVE IT TO ME.

I'm as conservative as they come, but I'm not sure I buy the legal argument here. The statute seems designed to prohibit taking bribes in exchange for arranging someone's appointment to federal office. I don't think political favors, such as refraining from running in a political primary, would qualify as a "thing of value" within the meaning of the statute. After all, promising a Cabinet post (for example) in exchange for a political endorsement is a time-honored tradition. I don't think this supposed "scandal" will go anywhere.
Seneca| 3.17.10 @ 7:29PM
I was wondering whether anyone else here was taking the time to actually think about what the statute says. Clearly if Sestak had given the "thing of value" here (his agreement to drop out so as to clear the way for Specter), that would violate the law. But, read carefully, the statute also prohibits the mere SOLICITATION of Sestak's concession, when that solicitation is coupled with the promise to secure for him an ambassadorship or other federal office.

Monday 2/22/2010: in Dallas, Tx. absentee voters report to the authorities a man showing up at their residence with absentee ballots a week before they actually recieved the "legal" ballots in their mail.
this man lies and tells them how to fill out their ballots and then takes them and files at least 18 in one day with the county & precinct. the legal ballots arrive a week later and this same man shows up again giving different instructions. this is your obama government at work furthering their corruption by chicago tactics. HE MUST BE

I told everyone I could before the election that IF O'b won he would RUIN THIS COUNTRY. And he's busy trying to do so as I type. The sad truth is that even if O'b was out of office and the Reps take over the House and Senate we citizens would STILL be 'governed by' corruption. We've strayed too far from our foundation(s) for ANY hope of a gov. that is honest, upright and worthy of being trusted. My husband has been a cynic for years and I found it impossible to give into his feelings. But sadly I've finally given up on the hope of EVER having an admirable government anymore. I do my best to participate in helping to elect the best out there. But sadly it seems even the 'best out there' end up giving into the evil that permeates Washington. I know, it's a downer. But it's the way I'm feeling right now. Maybe tomorrow I'll feel more hopeful...
If you wonder where all this negativity comes from..... I'm from ILLINOIS and have had to live with these crooks running Illinois all of my life. Even in Southern Illinois we have to deal with their corrupt tentacles. Someone earlier in this thread mentioned reading Revelation. I second that!

LarryG| 2.26.10 @ 9:59AM
I have two points and I'll try to keep them short.
First, I grew up and still live in Oregon- Most of my contemporaries were raised around with firearms. November 22, 1963 was my fourth day in the Army to be followed by four years in the Infantry including Viet Nam. How would Specter know what bullets do? They don't change direction unless they hit something very hard. The single bullet theory is the product of ignorance or corruption. So, what can one think about this Sestak thing?
Second, what sort of flap are they going to invent as a cover story or diversion from their perfidy?
Transparency, indeed.
Bob From District 9| 2.26.10 @ 10:49AM
There is only one real answer to this. Repeal any statute of limitations on crimes involving federal elections, or crimes committed in office. Or at least extend them 10 years after the administration(s) involved leave office. That way when this administration leaves office we can go back and prosecute all those who have committed such crimes well after their protection is gone.
That way we may still see Katherine Harris sitting in a prison cell. Monica Goodling may yet be a guest of the gray bar motel. John O'Neil may yet find a comfortable cot to meditate on his lies.
And then the question, what did Cheney know and when did he know it. Cheney, Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz, Feith, and even GW Bush.
Yes, this fun can go on for years. I'm looking forward to it.

One whole year ! Now thats going to put the chill on corruption. Almost every illegal act a public official could do carries a sentence that in no way reflects the seriousness of the crime. I guess when you make the laws that will apply to you if you get caught it is best to keep them to a bare minimum just to show how much trust you should have. I guess the reality is we can't trust them anyway and prosecuting them is completely out of the reach of the people. So much for redress of grievances.

I do not hold the opinions of Jane Fonda against her.
If congress does not declare war (cowards), then is there a war?
I do think that she was a traitor when the US prisioners, thinking that an american would not betray them (as they have written about), she did betray them.
each prisoner slipped notes to jane when she went down the corridor for a propaganda shoot. on the notes they put their personal information for their families and the M.I.
jane walked back to the commander of the prison and dumped the small sheet of paper into his hand.
She never mentions this act of treason, but asks for forgiveness for her sitting at an ak ak gun.
I forgive you for that action.
do the prisoners that survived the beating and starvation forgive you? the ones that died cannot.

I'm with "Bob From District 9" - take away the statute of limitations for these crimes. And, in addition to any sentencing they receive (if found guilty), regardless of jail time, community service, or fines, they should be prohibited from holding any government position - even if they want to serve on their local town's beautification committee. As a Philadelphia injury lawyer it makes me sick to my stomach that we can't seem to run government, or corporations for that matter without corruption.
