They came in all shapes and sizes, salted and unsalted, shelled and half-shelled, true Obamaites all.
This is exactly the health care fascism that Sarah Palin was objecting to, with the government pulling the plug on her grandmother, or her Down Syndrome infant. As long as Ezekiel Emanuel is a health policy advisor on his White House staff, Barack Obama has no business objecting to critics who say his health care plan will involve government rationing.
Then there is the White House energy czar Carol Browner, who served on the environment committee of the Socialist International, the umbrella group for 170 "social democratic, socialist and labor parties" in 55 countries, as reported by Fox News. Browner urged the international socialists to pursue "common action, since human survival increasingly depends upon the joint efforts of people around the world." Browner favors repeal of the industrial revolution to save us from global warming, as the planet gets cooler and cooler.
And don't forget the White House science czar John Holdren. In his book Ecoscience: Population, Resources and Environment, Holdren ruminates that forced abortions may be a necessary policy "if the population crisis becomes sufficiently severe to endanger the society." The book also discusses spiking drinking water with chemicals to make people sterile. But what population crisis is Holdren talking about? The real looming crisis is the repeal of the industrial revolution that Holdren also favors under Obama's cap and tax plan, aimed at returning fossil fuel emissions to the level of 1907.
This just scratches the surface of all the President's nuts. I haven't even mentioned Cass Sunnstein, who also favors government health care rationing, and Harold Koh, who thinks Americans should be ruled by the laws of foreign countries, not just by what we have democratically adopted. Many more will doubtless turn up in the bowels of the federal bureaucracy
As the Wall Street Journal also editorialized yesterday,
"As a candidate, Barack Obama was at pains to offer himself as a man of moderate policies, and especially of moderate temperament. He said he would listen to both the right and left, choosing the best of each depending on 'what works.' He sold himself as a center-left pragmatist."
But this was just another example of Obama's practice of calculated deception. Since his election, we haven't seen any of this supposed pragmatism. All we have seen is ultraleft ideology. That is why the political bills for this deception are just beginning to come due, as the Journal further explains,
Mr. Obama is falling in the polls because last year he didn't tell the American people that the "change" they were asked to believe in included trillions of dollars in new spending, deferring to the most liberal Members of Congress, a government takeover of health care, and appointees with the views of Van Jones.

We saw it coming, but he was elected anyway. His only mistake was moving so fast he brazenly threw everything in our face. If he had been patient, who knows, in eight short years America would have been hard socialist. An article of recent date by Lou Aguilar puts it best. "We are protected by the enormity of our stupidity". That plus the accelerated push from the left. I mean, we could have just slept right through the coup.

davelnaf, at 9:41AM you commented, “All of this is so amazing that you have to wonder if the democrats believe that the laws of political survival have been temporarily suspended for some reason.” Yesterday, I found this link to an article on Breitbart on The Drudge Report: [http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=CNG.8b155a6337952860d9e5c1ac62229d78.291&show_article=1]. The headline was “France to use swine flu to gut laws: report” and the first paragraph states, “In case of a swine flu pandemic the French government has a plan to introduce emergency measures that would gut legal protections for citizens, the daily Liberation reported Tuesday.” Rahm Emanuel, the Bergof Chief of Staff once said, “"You never want a serious crisis to go to waste.” Any questions? Not hope and change; hype and chains.

The battle would be easier if it were about the man rather than about this incresing, systemic attack on our institutions. We have an administration committed to "fundamental change" in America.
From the appointments we see and the actions taken, we can fairly surmise that they aren't kidding. Nothing short of a remaking of the American ideal of government will suffice.
Unless we find within ourselves a strong commitment to Constitutional government, the rule of law, free markets and local government, the future is dim.
What spark it might take and where that might occur remains unknown, but a great debate is being waged across the country. Lets us hope that we do not fail in this war of words for the alternative is more frightening to contemplate.

I agree wholeheartedly with the focus of this article; but disagree with one aspect ["....The book also discusses spiking drinking water with chemicals to make people sterile. But what population crisis is Holdren talking about?...."]. This country does have an overpopulation problem, from its indigent/minority birth rates. This ends up an expense/responsibility of taxpayers in the form of increased governmental welfare benefits. Spiking drinking water is extreme, but governmental mandates on limited births is necessary; along with IRS reversal of children exemptions tax policies. The indigent birth rates must be reversed/lowered, since these individuals simply cannot financially afford to care for their produced offspring!!!!!

Conrad Spiracy| 9.9.09 @ 3:09PM
Oldfarte,
I usually am right down the line with you, but on this one must declare..... "OUT OF BOUNDS."
Back in the 80s, I remember an article about a woman who lived somewhere in the projects in New York. She had 9 children. Her husband died after number 9 was born. She worked literally scrubbing floors and toilets. She insisted that her children graduate high school, go to college, and pay their own way to do so.
The exact numbers escape me, but of her 9 children, she (they themselves) produced 3 medical doctors, two attorneys, and various other Phds. The "Bad Seed"? The one who merely had a Masters in Elementary Education and taught in an NYC "ghetto" school to try to instill those same values in his students.
Putting birth restrictions on indigent/minority people is nothing less than forced sterilization and fear driven reaction. I thought we conservatives had gotten over this a long time ago - like when we first tried to pass Civil Rights legislation under the reign of FDR.
It's attitude, not certitude, that determines outcome.

We do not have a population problem, we have a welfare problem.
Cut off the taxpayer funded poverty programs and watch the birthrates of irresponsible people drop. This sounds cruel, but many people who can work but choose not to would get off their butts to put food on the table.
Oldfarte, no need to go the eugenics route. The government is incapable of deciding who gets to have children. If they ever decide to do such a thing, they should be the first to go.
Gill O’Teen ✝✡| 9.9.09 @ 3:24PM
Oldefarte, I hope you’re kidding when you write, “...but governmental mandates on limited births is (sic) necessary...” No gum’mint has the right to make any such mandate. That is solely God’s decision. I do agree that responsible people should not have even one child if they cannot afford the time and money required. However, no gum’mint should be concerned with forcing people to be responsible or legislating morality other than possibly requiring folks to pay their own bills. And neither should you be. Birthrate is not the probelm, indigency is not the problem, health care is not the problem, the problem is the welfare state which appropriates personal property (tax dollars) from some in order to give the same to others. That is an immoral position and one government should never be allowed to hold.

Isn’t that the humble young man who always denies credit for his silently appointed czars’ left-of-left proposed plans ... to upgrade the unions, take over big industries, free the naughty people who planned and executed an attack on the United States? If the news media would only reveal his picture once in a while, I would have recognized him in a minute; and if that same dependable news media would only publish his speeches once in a while, I would have been better prepared. Sadly, we have a president and speaker of the house who do not tell the truth. Even on the CBS news yesterday morning, on our local station, the anchor reported that 3/4 of Americans favor the public health option (which is false), and that the critics support the insurance companies (instead of saying that critics fear for their health as well as the economy under the Pelosi/Obama plan). And this is news on early morning TV? This is all they have to say on the matter? This is journalism? What about people, listeners, who don't do their homework, who truly THEN believe that critics are only protecting big business and that most of America really wants the public option? Let's face it - there are many clueless Americans and they are brought out by the busloads when some liberals can't win an argument or election simply on merit. CBS, NBC, and ABC must all accept responsibility for the very real bias in their "reporting" which helped to elect a man whom I believe has been handled and positioned for years to pivot American values away from those of our founding fathers. Obama isn't the messiah folks. He's just the puppet; the real interest is the production which is behind him. Time to see behind the curtain. Thank goodness for FOX news and their efforts to share what's hidden from the view of so many. When groups like the very biased and corrupt ACORN are supported with taxpayer money, which is an outrage, to further the agenda and cause of one policitical party, we've got a problem. Welfare and illegals? The solution is simple: if you take away the bird feeder, or design it for only the truly needy and legal birds, if you can keep it honest, there go the birds and the entitlement crisis which was created by politicians who manufactured bird feeders. There also goes the poop left on the ground for taxpayers. Parasites need a host, and they'll do anything to hold on to that host. They'll even vote for them. I support helping people who TRULY need help. I do not support the game in Washington that throws my money away on special interests, selfish interests, fancy jets, tattoo removal, entitlements and bail outs with an addictive bird seed which ingratiates, even enslaves a population to one party. I hope that another revolution is brewing reminding people like Pelosi, Maxine Waters, Henry Waxman, Barbara Boxer, Barney Frank, etc., and all the czars and followers of Obamaland, that the America which allows them the right to THEIR free speech, was made possible because we are a free republic, a free economy, paid for many times over by the blood of those who defended us and our right to live in this great land of opportunity. Our government was designed with checks and balances for a reason as we were never to fall victim to tyranny or a dictator government. Yet, it's happening. Once the American Dream was about having the right to pursue a dream and with hard work, to be allowed to achieve the reward. America was invited to grow and to prosper. This country became the strongest and most generous nation on the planet as a result. People moved here from all over the world - for the freedom and opportunity. Has the dream been "changed" to only serve those who seek the rewards of someone else's achievement? I want those who ask us to be more patriotic, more responsible, to lead by example first. And, they can begin by paying their taxes and reading the Constitution. No more special class for politicians. God Bless America and may true Americans no longer remain silent.

The basic rule for any Leftist caught with his or her drawers in a bind, is to exit stage left...

Read the Text "Masters of Deceit" circa 1954, by J. Edgar Hoover, the old FBI Dir. Chapter after Chapter of Rules for Leftists, including what to do with the trash that has to leave. Mr Jones will not go quietly into the night. His phones will be cut off and so will his access to the MSM. However, he will still get paid, still have his voice in the OBNA ear. except he no longer gets to sit on the Oval Office Sofa.
bt
The CZAR list, Glenn Becks questions and the continuing purge via the Conservative Expose' media will make a dent in the OBNA structure. Eventually, the FCC and the FTC Leftist Heads will shut down the Fox media. We all understand the "Fairness, Equalization, Income tax, Operation Tax method" for imposing the OBNA state controlled media. Fox is aware, as is Glenn Beck. They have a mission. Why does Obama need so many Czars duplicating the functions which are supposed to be performed by the various Cabinet departments? I suspect the goal is to undermine and bypass representative government, to hide more activities and decisions from public disclosure. Obama is quietly (albeit ineptly) building a "dictatorship of the proletariat". He views American voters as frogs who are content to let the socialist beaker of water get warmer and warmer, until it is too late and we are boiled to death (lose our freedom).
